Should be sweet!

BTW, you'll be expected to take enough photos at the show to fill up a 1GB memory card/stick. Pictures of everything!
-Brian
If Mrs. juice (or his other boss) won't let him go, I'll go in his place. :-)
DaveM
While juice and I have made some good contacts within SOA during our last two trips, I really have to thank Patti again for this, even though she's been assigned to the dungeon. I know she pushed for this to happen. I sure hope we get her back—and soon.
Bob
still it's silly not to have some consumer champions... err, advocates, there.
have fun guys!

Yeah, I think SOA is going to need all the help they can get to pull this off, which is probably why the offer came. This is going to be a monumental sales job, especially after reading all the posts here and elsewhere.
I think we can all agree that it's in the best interests of SOA (and us) that this vehicle succeed in the marketplace. If it doesn't, that could mean problems for Subaru, which could mean problems for Subie fans down the road. If it fails that could impact on future Imprezas, etc., as there would likely be less funds available to develop future models.
Bob
the 2002 Impreza received heavy criticism overseas, and a bit over here too though much less due to "finally" getting a turbocharged variant, and what do you know, two model years later the headlights and grille are revised.
that type of makeover would help the TriAzteca a lot, although the rear would still be awkward. odd rear ends are definitely a Subaru tradition though. hehe

Have fun Bob & juice.

A good friend of mine's mother was hit and killed by a car ,while standing at the bottom of the stairs after Christmas mass.
It was a sad holiday here but he is taking it well .

My grandfather (Dad's father) was hit by a car and killed on Christmas Eve 1978 while crossing the road in front of the church. My mom was about to cross behind him but luckily she saw the pickup truck coming. Unfortunately my grandfather didn't.

mike: Very sorry to hear about your loss. :-(

But...I noticed there were fewer people on the guest list this year, just 4 were invited. If that's right then we must've represented the Crew quite well, as we *both* got invited back.
B9 Tribeca does indeed interest me personally, so maybe that helped, too.
Off to the B9X topic to see about these pics, I actually have not seen them yet!
-juice
it is fitting, unfortunately.
~Colin
Toss in a mesh grille (STi edition?) and I'm all over it.
-juice
and that's not a good 'wow'.

Cheers Pat.
"BUSTED! Saab B9X!"
@#&*! do they just completely hate Subaru? Is that why there was never any mention of the USA ProRally deaths ever in the Competition pages? Is that why they've never road tested a new GT? Is that why they wish the base Outback had "the 2.0 turbo from the WRX" when we all know you can buy the dolfanged thing with a 2.5 turbo?
Or are they just turning into one of the most brain dead car rags, after having once been one of the cleverest?
-Dennis
Let's hope everyone who did not feel that well in '04 gets better, and only good newws in '05!
Catch everyone in 2005!

Well, thanks to the international date line, we'ver been surveying 2005 for about eight hours now and it looks like a good one
Cheers

Cheers Pat.
To those & theirs who have been ailing or injured, may they find healing;
To those un- or under-employed, may they find meaningful work;
May whatever struggles we face be met with energy, optimism, and successful resolution.
To those whose 2004 was good, may 2005 be even better.
Peace, prosperity, safety & happiness to us all!
Cheers!

Actually the vehicle is resembles most overall is the Maserati Kubang concept, remember that? I called that the best looking SUV ever way back when.
Let's see how the details are sorted out, give is a mesh grille and limit the chrome and I think it'll be a winner.

I noticed that they had a 3 disc in dash CD and MP3 player single din mounting. It was made by Kawasaki. This is the first multi disc aftermarket unit that I have seen and most defintely the first multi disc MP3 player.
Cheers Pat.
My CD skips, pretty badly. Though I also need new shocks.

The reason I mention this, while I was at my daughter's place in Tenn. they took us to lunch at a Chinese buffet, there were these two EMS guys sitting with massive plates of stuff, their rig was parked outside,so I assume they were on a lunch break.
Both of these dudes were so badly overweight they could just waddle literally instead of walk, I kid you not, I left there thinking that if I had a medical emergency I wouldn't fancy having either of these guys as the attendants.
Cheers Pat.
If gas mileage/cost is important to you, stick with the 2.5i model. I have been getting 19-25 with my XT. Combined with the need for premium fuel it means this is a much more expensive car to operate. I forget what the ratings are for the 2.5i, but based on my older (2000) Outback with a similar motor, I'd say 24-30 is realistic.
Though my 02 Outback H6 got decent mileage (22-28) the new H6 models have dropped quite a bit (maybe only slightly better than my XT, if at all). That's the price to pay for 250HP! I would definitely recommend premium for the H6 -- I could tell the difference in my 02 when regular gas was used, and it was felt throughout the powerband (because the engine retards timing).
Main benefit to the H6 is refinement and very composed power delivery. Main benefit to the turbo motor is that it's a total rocket and very fun to drive. If you're cruising down the highway at 65mph, they will *all* feel about the same in my opinion -- the 05 model is very quiet and smooth to begin with, and distinctions between models/engines in terms of noise, vibration, and harshness are small or negligible. In fact, the 2.5i models actually ride a smidge better becaus they have higher profile tires on 16" wheels.
Can't really say which seats are better or worse. I do like the seats in my XT, but had no complaints about the seats in the 2.5i I drove either.
By the way, I am 6'2" and about 225LB. I also have my seat set to the lowest position and the stock armrest is about perfect for me.
Overall, I would pick the 2.5i model for value. I would pick the XT model for a mid-life-crisis and/or having fun and not caring about the gas bill (like me), and I would pick the H6 if I really wanted to feel like I was driving luxury car every day.
BTW, you never told us why you were ditching the MAXX... maybe that would influence my advice.
Good luck!
Craig
I have a 2001 GT wagon and I love this car as much today as I did the day I brought it home.
In fact I have looked at the new legacys and while they are no doubt nice cars they are still not enticing enough for me to change my GT.Also my car has extremely low milage and is mint so neither would it make any sense for me to take the hit I would with depreciation.
Cheers Pat.
