Update 5-31 2:45PM PST: No change, still waiting!

If the baby doesn't come this weekend, we have an appointment on Monday to induce labor.

The hilarious thing is that the Dr. actually wanted to induce this Friday. My wife has a baby shower she's holding for a friend and another b-day party to go to so she bargained for Monday! Sheez.

Good news? Hell, that's FANTASTIC news! You've waited a long time for this good buddy... :) Way to go!

    Ken,

They have different priorities than us. My wife was very disappointed that we missed my good friend's wedding when my second daughter was born. She wanted to sneak out of the hospital to attend!

Thanks to all for your good wishes...I've worked hard to get a position...it will be a lot of work but worth it.
Ken..have her wit till next May so us early guessers can still have a chance...the advantage to that...your baby will be born big enough and ready to go to college already!

    Nice job Serge!

It was fun..our neighbors are spending upwards of $2000 for similar landscaping...cost me around $650 plus my labor. I used 160 8" lodestone blocks; I already had the edging in the ground and just changed the configuration...11 junipers, 3 oleanders in the center, and 4 ruellias...plus 30 bags of mulch and 20 bags of Scott's garden soil. I have 30 bags of mulch left which are going in the back of the the house, and I've been slowly returning excess garden soil.
I'm getting too old for this, or at least my back is getting too old!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Looks nice.

I can appreciate that, too, because I do that myself as well. It's funny, people come up to me and ask if the owner is home some times. :D

I used Bob's trailer to cover some areas in pea gravel, mostly in the back yard, so I'm hoping that's lower maintenance than mulching 4x per year.

I still mulch the front and my garden.

Just wanted to pipe in and wish a belated congrats on the job... and... nice lawn!

Mine's mostly moss right now. That and buttercups, clover and yarrow. It's beyond hope, in the next couple years I'm gonna have to just re-do it at the same time as several other large yard projects.

I try not to use too much ferilizer or weed treatments, just some lime. So now it looks like I'm breeding weeds. :D

    Jeff,
We live in a homeowner's association, so we have no choice...if it strarts to look like c**p, we get a letter from the managing agent...however, my front really needed work, so I sat down and just drew it up.

I know just how you feel (aching back part that is). The past 3 weeks I've had to rebuild my rotten porch (8x18'), put up an 8' long retaining wall 4 blocks high (at 86# a block) and cut down a dead 60' weeping willow. And there's still an 11 cu. yard pile of gravel that needs spreading.

I'm not too popped to hang out at the Subaru Chat tonight though - how's that for a roundabout plug? :shades:

The link's on the left and at the top.

    G'day

Now Serge could exercise his talents down under if he ever gets bored. I have the scruffiest houise in the street and garden is largely left to bush up with Australian native plants. We are actually fused about leaving as much habitat as possible for the native animals that abound in this area and that requires lots of plantings of nectar plants, bushes with spiky leaves for bird prtotctions and the like

    Regards

My daughter read a poem up on stage, so I missed it, too.

On a good note, she said that when she turns 16 she wants to drive. That's my girl! :)

Well, I made the chat! And it was funny, as soon as Steve signed on, I accidently hit my browser back button and logged off -- kind of like his business trips to the Bay Area!

We went in for another amnio check yesterday and it appeared as though the baby was still doing fine. Our next appointment is on Monday and that'll probably determine if Kana get's induced or not!

I have the newest Paul Simon CD, and all you guys with little girls need to have the song "father and daughter" ...

I've long been a Simon fan, and this CD doesn't disappoint. Its got some real treasures on it, including "wartime prayers" and "another galaxy" .. "everything about it is a love song"

ok .. that's all .. and of coures you can listen to it in your car ...
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Thanks, Brenda, I'll have to check it out. We were listening to him last weekend. Classics, though.

Ken - any chance we can talk you in to certain names? Like Dave, Mike, or Kayla? :D

Hey guys, I've finally given up on my wife's ever driving a stick. Now I need to decide what to replace my LGT with.

    I'm thinking (All Automatics):

    XT or VDC wagon
    Honda Ridgeline
    Toyota Camry Hybrid

Or just buying a small 3rd car like a Honda Civic or Scion or Hyundai? (So I can keep my LGT)

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

That means Ken has to name the baby Steven Thomas Suzuki. :D

Just kidding, but did you pick a name yet?

Congratulations and mazel tov...I thought she was going to be as late to the party as Subaru is going to be bringing in the R1/R2 to the mini car market!
  • lilbluewgn02lilbluewgn02 Member Posts: 1,089
    What's her name???...baby subi?
  • tsytsy Member Posts: 1,551
    Congratulations Ken!!!!

I hope baby and mother (and father, of course) are all doing well!

Juice- I guess since we all guessed over we all have to guess again? :D Somehow I think 1 oz would have been a bad guess! Ah well, off by 2 oz isn't bad!

Will you give her a Japanese name also? How about Subaru? :D

Congrats again Ken. Hope you get some sleep!

    tom
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Can you use a symbol for a middle name?

    I suggest >.

Because then her name would be Subaru > Suzuki!

    :D

OK, I'll go take my meds now. ;)

Since it's the internet age, do we have to come up with screennames for babies too? :P
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
6/5 and 5lbs, 6oz. If only about 42 minutes sooner, the baby would have been born at 6:50pm.
