and that beauty is the top-of-the line IIRC.
They had a European look about them with their graceful non-gimmicky styling, enhanced by the optional Kelsey-Hayes or Dayton wire wheels (unfortunately those were troublesome.)

Bingo on the '59 flattop but from the side there's very little difference between the '63 and '64. At TOM they're saying '63 so I guess you're right.

You are right, it's a 48 Kaiser, I saw one recently and noticed something I hadn't noticed before. Our first family car was a 1947 Frazer, the big borther of the more well-known Kaiser. What I saw for the first time was that Kaisers and Frazers were among the more stylish of the immediate postwar era. They were a styling evolution ahead of the lower end GMs, Fords, Mercurys and especially MoPars which were more upright and had the same basic styling as on Pearl Harbor day.

That '47 Ford is a '47.5. Unlike the first '47s to come off the line, it has had its parking lights moved to below the headlights and it has a nose badge displaying whether the engine is a 6 or 8.
As to the Frazer, it's not a '47. Ok, pop quiz, which year(s) is it?

I think the wheels are Italian-made Cromodora alloys which came with most US market E9s
Smaller versions were optional on Fiat 124 Sports.

'67 would've been the early part of the type/number scheme. There are obvious similarities but I imagine they had to significantly revise the chassis to accomodate the longer six cyl. motors

"The BMW New Class coupé range, which comprised the BMW 2000 C and BMW 2000 CS, was a coupé body style built by Karmann for BMW from the summer of 1965[1](p141)[2](pp66–67) to 1969. In 1965, BMW ended production of their Bertone-bodied 3200 CS coupé, the last of their line of V8 powered luxury cars from the 1950s. BMW decided to continue with a coachbuilt coupé. Based on the New Class platform, the 2000 C and 2000 CS introduced the 2.0 L version of the M10 4-cylinder engine and replaced the 3200 CS as BMW's flagship model in 1965.[2](p66). The New Class coupes were replaced by the E9 coupés, which were based on a stretched 2000CS chassis and use a 6-cylinder engine."
