thanks for all the good advice, the smiles, the laughs, the surprises; in general, the big-hearted sharing.
ok.....off my emotional soapbox.....

:-)
I know exactly how you feel Jillian. Those are the reasons I hang here (perhaps to the annoyance of some). I feel like I've finally found the right car and the right group of loonies.

Pete - is a long time Subaru person. His main responsibility is to try to help Service Advisors, with his training programs, on the correct way to respond and react to customer concerns, etc. Pete has very extensive Subaru knowledge and is a very personable guy. I have a lot of respect for him. As a side note: he has done an awesome job of raising his children. His son is my son's music teacher, mentor and all around great life influence. Pete is fun and very down to earth.
Rick: Rick has tolerated me through all of my technical training classes. He has a distinct ability of taking very "challenging" technical information and making it understandable to folks like - the none technical wanna be's. He has been with Subaru for a long time and is a lot of fun. I try to take advantage of his wit, experience and knowledge on a regular basis.
I try to take advantage of these two resources on a regular basis if I cannot get a straight answer. They are both honest. If they can't comment, they won't.
I'm sure it will be a fun chat with both of these folks. I'm going to sit back and watch, but I might be compelled to lure them into something ;>}
See you tomorrow night?

As I was pulling up some guy who works @ Carter Subaru insisted my vanity plate read $1000 a week wagon. I looked at it again: 1KWKWGN and thought , hey...it could mean that (probably just as close to the truth, especially w/all the modding lately) I'm pretty sure the new MRT website @ Carter is not going to help! :-)

Hey, speaking of luck. I read in USAtoday that my great State of WA is joining the BIG Lotto in Sept. We've only be stumbling around w/our measely State lottery for a decade or so. I think the biggest our jackpot has ever been was about $24 mil...chomp change! (yeah, right) LOL.

Big Game - Yeah, it was a blast. I'd like to do something like that again. Notice how the winner in NJ is keeping low for now (also Chicago??)?

Subies in movies: first it was a green Forester in "Bandits", in front of the bank that they robbed. Then another green Forester in "In the Bedroom", which was actually the topic of conversation for one scene. The latest is "Clockstoppers". It isn't shown, but the main character asks his buddy if he can borrow his mom's Subaru. "My mom's Subaru?" is his reponse. They end up taking his girlfriend's brother's Z3, but it's slower than a WRX so they have to use hypertime to get there on time!
Just kidding about that last part. The movie is only so-so.

Well by god I am the embodiment of that saying this week, I cleaned the Titan real good at the beginning of the week and was patting my back.
One year and not counting the dent on the roof from the very first day, i was thinking not a scratch or a ding, Then I drop a lug wrench on my good summer rim and I have two small chips.
Next day I am backing into a space and just kiss a post with the rear bumper some small scratchs which thank God I was mostly able to buff out.
Then today had the pups crate in the back of the car with the crate door open, I closed the back door of the car on the crate and put a rip in the plastic of the arm rest.
So hopefully thats the last of the jinx, I will have the armrest professionally repaired.
Cheers Pat.

Thanks to the moderator and Subaru Crew for handling all that traffic!

My first chat in a year and I spent 45 minutes trying to figure out where everyone kept popping around to. I posted my ?, but I suppose it was too late.
Oh well.

the chat turned out pretty good. my question got asked by the moderator and I didn't have to wait very long at all. I just highlighted the moderator's name on the list and type in question mark and hit enter.

Nice idea and thanks for getting the pros for us, but there must be a better way of doing this...

We all expect to get 3-4k miles per quart, and indeed 99% of well built engines probably meet this. But there are always 'outlying data points' - 3 to 6 sigma tails from the mean. A mfgr puts a line out on the tail, and says that this is the max acceptable oil consumption before they will take action. I would not be happy either if I owned one of these, but most mfgrs will not take any steps at intervention until consumption reaches the 'action limit' of a quart per 1k miles. As Patti said, this is a pretty standard auto industry response when asked about 'excessive' oil use in normal operation.

It turned out that there were multiple chat rooms going on at the same time. The moderator would circle around the rooms and take questions in order.
I found that it was easier to get a question answered (I managed 2 during the whole seesion) if you were in a less crowded room.

It's nice to have access to SOA people and ask questions.

I had a question about a "CLUNK" when driving on gravel or small bumps with the wheels slightly turned. I know several other Legacy owners that have the same problem, sounds like something is loose somewhere. Mrk610- I have done alot of research on "Piston Slap" what is your question? I have not suffered from it but know a few that have. You can find alot of info on www.I-club.com.
john25rs: what year is your RS? Welcome to the Crew. I was hoping some folks would join us after that chat.
Pat: chief got bad juju, Tarzan. You should be good now. I did some "Macumba" for you last night, Brazilian black magic that is some serious Mojo. Take a deep breath, the jinx is gone.
Wow, I've never seen such a busy chat! It was more crowded than when we had the Rally drivers as guests, far more! I think they had advertised it on my.subaru.com, because I got an e-mail from them. We must have had 100 people! More, there were 6 chat rooms, with 10-20 people in each, plus 77 observers in the main room alone!
Understandably the hosts could not keep up and get all the questions answered. I couldn't keep up with reading the questions and answers, imagine the host's job.
Any how, I sort of gave up keeping up with the pace of the chat, and went into each room to recruit new Crew members! :-)
I did sneak in a couple of questions, though. That was funny when I asked how to prepare for a road trip, and he said "get gas!" LOL
They ought to get a transcript up soon. I thought that too many of the questions were very case-specific, things that could not be answered without a visit to the dealer. As Ken told me later, many RTFM questions that the user's manual could have answered, too. Or the Crew.
Maybe we can come up with a list of questions later, submit it in advance, and then invite them back to talk to the "regulars". I think that's what most of us were hoping for.
Can't blame Edmunds for advertising, though. I'm sure they had 100 people, at least, that were here in the Town Hall for the first time. The chat was TOO successful.

It's a great idea, but it seems Edmunds is not up to the task of handling a huge crowd. It was very confusing with all the different chat rooms, and I didn't even try to ask a question.
Bob
More like waiting for evolution to happen here at work.
