Signed the lease paperwork on Thursday and went with Option A. Again that was:

- 2021 XC90 Inscription Expression T8 7 seater
- Base: $63,450
- Packages: Advanced ($1700), Climate ($750), Metal Paint, Integrated Booster $300, 20" Rims ($800), and Polestar ($1295).
- Destination $995
- Final MSRP: $69,935

Lease Terms: 36 months/15k miles yearly
Confirmed MF & RV: .00152 MF and 58% residual (I'm assuming this was applied to: $2750 lease bonus)
Pretax monthly = $765/month
Had the Costco & Educator Discount. Didn't have the Volvo discount.
Tax = $3656 ($101/monthly)
Final monthly = $867/month

I did 5 MSDs at $4250 and that brought down the monthly to $839/month

If I could have lived without Polestar, Integrated Booster, and a lighter interior, then Option B was significantly a cheaper option at $798/month with 5 MSDs. It was objectively my best deal.

The plan to go with the Inscription Expression T8 all materialized within a few days. I was all set for the XC90 Momentum T6 exactly a week ago last Sunday. The absolute best 2021 XC90 Momentum T6 numbers I got with the above lease parameters was on a 7 passenger with Climate ($750), Advanced ($1700), Metal Paint ($645), Booster ($300), Air Purifier ($250), 20" ($800). Dest was $995 making the total $62,390.00. My final leasing price was $720/month ($674/month if I maxed out MSDs).

That Sunday I drove a polestar variation of the above vehicle which was $30/more month with 21" wheels so I was going to then go with that. But that night my wife just brought up wishing we could have done an electric car and on a whim I looked at the XC90 recharge T8 options. I always assumed electric was always out of range, but when I saw the MSRPs weren't *That* far off, I decided to get pricing on it. And when I saw it was $100-$125/more per month it seemed worth it.

One of the brokers said directly to me that it's something I have to take. He's the one who made that calculator.

That said, I do think Option A may be the better deal if I didn't want Polestar. 5 MSDs on both vehicles makes the price $798/mo for Option A vs $839 for Option B. I spoke with the dealer today and to add it onto Option A would take the monthly up $40/month since it can't be residualized.

However, with the other dealer, I was initially looking on an almost totally identical currently available Inscription Expression T8 Recharge, but that was just missing Polestar, but had an Air Filter. That one was $17/cheaper.

So it's that situation that makes Option B the better deal for me.

Note: I did hear from one dealer that if a vehicle is on its way to the dealership and at the port, if the polestar is added there, it can then be residualized. If that's true, it's a nice run around way to get polestar a bit cheaper.
