Received this deal this week from an Illinois dealer. Didn't get the MF/Res. Seems high. I know it's a new car. But it's not as favorable as the leases I currently have on my 540 or X5. Opinions?

My cash due at signing would have been $2274.70 instead of 2774.70, but my company was no longer part of the Corporate Fleet Purchase program and I had to come up with the $500. I tried to hold out but they wouldn't budge. They also tried to sell me a tire/rim and ding and dent insurance for $2300 for the term of lease. I declined. Hopefully I won't blow out any tires or bang up the rims; but I do live in New Jersey...

So what are all those fees? Median documentation fee in NJ is $399. Tire fee is $25 apparently. Average DMV fees are $133. Again I think you got a good deal - maybe even great. I'm just trying to educate myself as to how dealers inflate costs. I'm in NY and have a relative who used to be in the car business so he'll help me avoid that, but still curious. (At this point I may just use a lease broker)

Exactly, they inflate the MV fees and doc fees. I think that is where they get their profits, as they need to discount cars to be competitive. I still think the $925 acquisition fee is outrageous.

Nothing you can do about the acquisition fee - it's mandatory and non-negotiable.

If you want to avoid it, buy instead of lease.
