That awful color doesn’t knock the value down a bit?
I like it! But Manheim does project a $360 hit for brown. Brings it to $30.6k from $31k. I find they seem to be a little optimistic compared to actual results, so I project high $29k to maybe $30k on it.
Brown is kind of a love/hate color. I did have a feeling that it would reduce the value a bit.
This 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class GLC 300 4MATIC has 13,856 miles on the clock and has been on the market for 136 days. Offer price, $29,450, original list $37,888. What gives?
Not out of line for a few reasons. I checked my Florida dealer and similar cars sold for that price....all with more miles. Compare our 2014 C250 which was 3 years old at the time was $25000 but had the full MB CPO warranty (12k mi). With inflation and the extra content ( like a backup camera, probably GPS) of the GLC it doesn't seem out of line. I think that brown color is more popular in Europe, VW, BMW and Audi offer it in slightly different shades.
I didn't really see anything different than just about any other Eagles game this year. They do nothing in the 2nd half.
True but benching your QB and going to third string didn’t make any sense at all.
Totally consistent with the pregame decisions to make 9 players inactive, many of them starters. I'm pretty sure these decisions came down from upstairs.
Got an update on the great Genesis saga. Seems to have been a standard dead battery after all. Son got ahold of the SA at the dealer this morning, and found out that the remote jump points under the hood often give them problems, so at the dealer they jump the battery directly in the trunk. So son had the roadside back out, and if fired right up doing that. Too bad they did not tell him that trick when he talked to them on Saturday.
Currently on the way driving to the dealer, and I suspect shortly it will have a new battery in it, and hopefully not give further troubles. And he learned something for the future (which might be, don't get a car with a battery in the trunk).
Probably good to invest in one of those compact jump packs too, just to have on hand. Though this car is done in a year (just had his 2 year anniversary Saturday I think) when the lease runs out. I also recommended buying a brand with a local dealer for convenience.
@graphicguy Looks great! I would get a standard mount cartridge for that TT. No reason to be constrained to P-type with that head shell.
Thanks. I agree. Standard mount cartilage would be a better bet. I got a “deal” on the P-Mount. That doesn’t make it the right choice. The new Audio Technica 95 series is upgradeable all the way to a Shibata stylus, so I can probably score the cartridge for $50 or so, and another $100 for an upgrade stylus. Didn’t want to do that given I spent an entire afternoon mounting and aligning the P-Mount cartridge. C’est la vie!
BTW.....was I dreaming or was there a fleeting @Kirstie_H sighting in here?

Except half the teams in the league benched players for the last week, in games that had playoff implications (Steelers for example).

Ha ha. It is really sad that good old fashioned audio systems are dying off. Everyone just wants convenience over good sound.
Our new home has three zones of integrated audio (two downstairs and one outside). The speakers are all Klipsch but the Mickey Mouse amp that is part of the whole system does them no justice. It’s great for background music but certainly not high performance.
Here is the panel. Look at how small that amp is (green wires). I’m going to look into upgrading it.

AT and Ortofon have always been my favorites. Fairly priced and good performers.
someone spent some good money having all that installed when they built that house. I assume they intended to stay a long time instead of moving in just a few years.

Yes many of the upgrades they did not get a return on. Their plan was to stay a very long time, but a job transfer changed all that (from what I was told he didn’t have a choice).
I just got a call from my Community HOA regarding making an appointment for my initial Covid-19 vaccine inoculation and the second inoculation. They gave me this Thursday afternoon, January 7th, at 1:00 PM and Thursday, January 28th at 1:00 PM for my second vaccine inoculation.
Hopefully everything will be fine with no reaction(s) to the vaccine. Now I hope the vaccine will be effective against those new variants,
I am very thankful that my community was chosen as an inoculation site for our residents. The woman on the phone told me that over 3,000 people are already signed up for the vaccine in our community.
A quick question since we are discussing football. Why is it called football when they don't use their feet and its shape is that of a prolate spheroid and not a ball?

I'm still around, obviously, but spending much more time on our customer feedback (help desk, and how people rate our site) and dealership and vehicle reviews.
Moved from my home state of MO to FL - north of Tampa - a couple of years ago, to a canal community on the Gulf, so my view and the weather are both a helluva lot better. Invested in a pontoon boat, a center-console fishing boat, a kayak, and some paddleboards, so at least there's something to DO that doesn't involve close social contact these days.
I'm still into collecting cars that I don't really need. Shortly after moving down here, I got a great deal on a 2005 Santa Fe with 87k miles, and that's what we use to transport fishing gear and kayak/boards. This summer, I got a wild hair about needing to own a Kia Soul in my lifetime, and when dealerships were absolutely vacant, I picked up a yellow Exclaim version - it's really a blast to drive around town! Being overburdened with cars, I let my '98 Cabrio go as a gift to a friend who really needed a car and has the mechanical expertise to tinker with it.
I do not own, nor am I shopping for, a turntable at this time

If the Eagles did in fact throw that game, and it sure looks like they did to me, everyone on the coaching staff and head office should be fired.
Well, I don't think even Mr. Goodell can do that. Seems to me that he needs to look at what he did to the Patriots for their various trumped-up misdeeds, the video and deflategate, and multiply that by a factor of something since there is little doubt of both the act and the benefit to the Eagles from their actions. Forfeit multiple draft choices, long suspensions for those involved in the decision, and perhaps a few million dollars from Mr. Lurie.

@tjc78 ...there are some good Class D amps for distributed audio for not a whole lot of money. Go peruse Dayton Audio's Web site. I'm sure you'll find something.
@Kirstie_H ...great to hear from you. Oh...and by the way...if you don't have a recent car acquisition, an appliance question, or an audio turntable rehabilitation going on, I'm afraid we'll need to put you on C&C probation until you rectify one (or preferably all) transgressions mentioned above.
@snakeweasel, The Eagles second half of games probably correlates closely to their wins/losses. Win or Lose, they would have ended up last in their division.

Why have remote jump terminals when they cause problems like that? My Sebring has remote terminals because the battery is in the fender but it would be easier to jump directly if it was in the trunk. Strange engineering choice.

Everything in the house home runs to that panel. The picture is only the top half.
Cable lines, ethernet and the speaker system (speakers, aux in, and control pads).
Makes it really simple to get everything hooked up.
When we moved in only one cable outlet was working. I went to the panel, terminated all of them and hooked them up to a really good splitter. Very easy with everything in one panel.

Farmer, no clue about the issue they had, but obviously the dealer was familiar with it. Live and learn. Not a huge deal, though he might have gotten it up there in time Saturday to get it taken care of, instead of waiting until Monday morning and having to skip out on 1/2 of his first day back after being off for the holidays.
thankfully there was not issue up there. They replaced it, under warranty, and had him on his way in an hour or so. He said that he stopped and started a few times doing stuff and no issues. Oddly, I had the same problem with my TLX early in it's life (cell went bad in the battery early on) and had to do the same jump in the garage, drive straight to the dealer routine.
and of course, he wandered the lot and sent me pictures of stuff he liked (just a G70 in a different color since the GV70 is not out yet). Hey, his lease is up the end of December this year, need to be out looking!

Funny, this was my first question when I came to the US. It got its name reportedly because it is foot long.

Actually, American Football traces its origins to rugby. The American football is similar in shape to the rugby football. The name “football” is derived from the fact that the ball was often kicked by ones foot as in field goal, a punt, onside kick. American football reduced the amount of foot kicking when the forward pass was introduced.
There’s some good research on the internet about the similarities of rugby, soccer and football.

Actually football soccer and rugby likely all descended from the same game where a ball was kicked.

Actually the guy who invented the game had a dog called Pickles that would chase the ball.

The Eagles second half of games probably correlates closely to their wins/losses.
Win or Lose, they would have ended up last in their division.
Thanks I’ll check it out.

Cable lines, ethernet and the speaker system (speakers, aux in, and control pads).
Makes it really simple to get everything hooked up.
When we moved in only one cable outlet was working. I went to the panel, terminated all of them and hooked them up to a really good splitter. Very easy with everything in one panel.

thankfully there was not issue up there.
