My car needs and desires have radically changed as I have gotten older. When I was an 18 year old, I just wanted wheels to take my girlfriends out on weekends and to get me to school on weekdays.

When I was in my 20’s and 30’s, I wanted speed and handling and thrills. When I was in my 40’s and 50’s, I wanted styling and sophistication. When I got into my 60’s and 70’s, I wanted status and luxury.

Now that I will soon be closer to she 77 than my current age 76, I am looking for safety, smooth ride and easy handling and plush seats and interiors - ambiance! But most importantly, I need and want my car to correct my mistakes when backing up, changing lanes, and accelerating and stopping and turning. I am not as spry and flexible as I used to be - thus I want nanny features and a great sound system.

    Voila - welcome Genesis G90! 😜🤪🤓

I’ve been relatively consistent- I’m 64 and all I’ve wanted is speed, handling, and thrills since I was 16...

    Love it

I love the exhibition of the attitude. She mentions "Dublin" which is
a suburb of Columbus where a golf tournament is played annually.

I'd love to know if she's associated with The University or one of the smaller
institutions of higher learning in the town.

This makes me absolutely crazy. Cop handed it well. Surprisingly, he was more subdued that I would have expected.

I don’t agree with handing out ticks for simple revenue generation, but I believe texting, cell phone calls, and anything involved with looking at a cell phone while driving is a much bigger safety menace than DUIs. I think the penalties should be similar.

If the local po-po would go after the phone lookers/texters and non-signalers like some go after speeders, they could fund their pensions for eternity.

    Progressive penalties, too.

Going by the number of people that pass me (and I usually do over SL, I'll admit that) verses the number of people I see pulled over I do believe that officer friendly does go after the phone people as much as the speeders.

I willfully admit to fracturing the speed limit. I typically drive between 70 & 75. I am shocked at how many people just cruise past me. They must be going at least 90 mph.

All right everyone - I just got some news from my son in Palm Desert, CA, about my grandson - you remember, the 6'3", 215 lbs, blue-eyed, blond haired 92 mph fastball pitcher - he just signed his commitment letter for a FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIP at the University of California, San Bernardino (Division II NCAA School) as a pitcher. He will be a junior as he just earned his AA degree from Riverside City College. For housing, he will be living in the athletic housing area (they are all apartments) across the street from the main campus in San Bernardino, with all his meals included.

This kid has been through the ringer with the situation out there in California and the fact that the campuses have been closed for so long. No athletics, etc. According to my son, the head coach who signed him up stated that he will probably be there one year and he will definitely be drafted by one of the major league teams due to the change in his pitching mechanics thanks to the coaches that have been working with him privately over the past year. Only time will tell and with God's help, he will stay healthy and continue improving.

What a relief, my posting buddies, what a relief!!! :oB)

The Red Sox could use a lively right armed pitcher. Hope he hangs around long enough to make it to Boston.

Maybe a regional thing. I almost always do a little over the (often arbitrary appearing) SL too, but seldom more than 10 over. as I know chances of a ticket increase exponentially from there. I very seldom get passed at those speeds, even on wide open roads, as people here just don't drive fast, save for a few specific areas (I5 between Tacoma and Seattle can have superspeeders in the uncommon times when volumes are light). A lot of people here seem to freeze up at 1-2 over.

The amount of phone fiddlers I see makes me think they aren't scared of penalties, as penalties are few and far between. I guess I'd have to see data to believe otherwise - good luck with that ! B)

Now, if they are smart, they’d put me on the payroll. I’ll give everyone low trade-in values BUT “high” Carmax values! “You can go get $1 from the dealer OR you can sell it to your local trusty Carmax for $2. Finally got a call from my grandson this afternoon. He sure is excited about going to UC San Bernardino in August. He’ll be majoring in Kinesiology - the science of muscles of the body and how they function. He wants to go into sports training for professional athletes, assuming his baseball career does not materialize.

From what he told me, the coaches expect him to be drafted into the majors after his Junior year when he reaches the age of 21. Several scouts have been watching him because of his pitching coach and his connections with the major league scouts. I told him I was so proud of him and what he has accomplished over the past 18 months in spite of his disastrous experiences in Nebraska.

There was a popup site in Tampa offering J&J vaccine to everybody who wanted. Pretty much all our young guys in the office, who weren't vaccinated before went there and got jabbed. Now won't need talk to each other, 5G arm chips will communicate our thoughts wirelessly. If not, I assume next OS update will add the feature...

The Clubman just had the coolant and brake fluid changed and no sooner than it was ready for pickup the 2er threw a CEL: code P0456, "evaporative emission system leak detected(very small leak)." I did a bit of digging and found that the usual culprit- the leak detection module(NVLD) is covered by a 10 year/120,000 mile warranty extension. I figured that since it was a free repair I'd go ahead and get the oil, coolant and brake fluid changed a couple of months early. With jury trials firing up again in may I thought I'd get that maintenance over with. That only leaves the Club Sport and Wrangler- which I'll probably just service in my own garage.

As an aside, my BMW dealer's gain was my loss; they are moving as much new metal over the curb as they can get- and it has depleted the loaner fleet and I ended up with a Nissan Versa from Enterprise. After one day I had more than enough of the CVT and a touchscreen that locks out most every function while the car is moving and I returned it a day early.

The Gremlin was introduced today, 50 years ago.

I liked my Gremlin. I forget the specific year, but it had the same bumpers as that blue one. Though I think it had the stripes that angled up the C pillar instead. Mine was yellow with black stripes.
