If “no” to all the above, the numbers seem surprisingly light. $46k is right there at auction value. I would expect similar vehicles to be advertised in the $50k-$52k range. So you could be competitive at $48995.
But, as mentioned above, if your state has trade-in tax credit, you’d be better off going that route and asking them to match Vroom’s offer.

Nevada offers a tax credit when you trade in a vehicle. Multiply the trade-in allowance (the amount you are getting for the trade) by the appropriate sales-tax rate. If you are receiving $5000 for your trade-in vehicle, and your sales-tax rate is 7.5 percent, you would multiply 5000 by .075.

As another reference point when I traded my 2020 Model3 Long Range AWD in early July the Land Rover dealer gave me $44k for it and then listed it for $53,900. It was gone within a week so I assume they got close to that for it.
It had the blue paint, white interior and sport wheels. I think MSRP was $50,900 or thereabout.
Just curious for a reality check, but what’s reasonable these days on something like this?

White over brown leather, 46k miles.
Only one comp, unfortunately, and it was black in Dallas. Sold for $19,400. Next one was 59k miles, also black in Dallas, @ $14k. Big discrepancy for 13k miles. Then we had one at $16k w/61k. So, let's throw out the $14k and average out the other two. $18k seems like a safe number. Purchase for about $21k, give or take a nickel.

So listed at $19,444 at a reputable used car dealer isn’t a bad deal it seems. With those miles, and putting on maybe 3-5k/year tops, should last a long time.
If you know a good indie shop or dealer and have a CCA membership it's not bad at all. The running costs for my wife's X1 with the same engine have averaged $312/year. It would be even less if I didn't get the coolant and brake fluid changed more often than BMW recommends. There was a TSB for the early N20 timing chains. It might well have already been replaced on that car. BMW also extended the timing chain warranty to 7-year 70K miles.

Unfortunately, data is scarce. Looking at PP models, they are roughly $30k-$31k. I'm not seeing enough evidence to indicate Prestige should be any more. I mean, somehow, a red one in decent condition with only 26k miles got $28.4k in VA 3 weeks ago. But 6 weeks prior to that, a gray one in poor condition got the same price. Wacky.

If wholesale on. A similar car is 15, and you can only get 15 for it as is, putting the new motor in seems like a good deal. Keep your nice pristine car that will be hard to replicate, and get zero mile engine with a warranty.

I wouldn't pay $15K for a $30K car that needed $15K of work.
I'll guess the value is under $10K as it sits. The only smart thing to do it fix it.

Road, I just had the brake fluid changed for a second time at just over 68K but have yet to do the coolant in my VW Golf. Since it's staying in the fleet for the time being, is this something I should look into? I did have the water pump/thermostat replaced under warranty at 35,960 miles back in 2017 as I recall, where I'm assuming they put new coolant in, and we had to replace it in our A3 recently due to a coolant leak recently. Since I've already done it once on the Golf, is it necessary at almost 69K? Do I just have my mechanic swap it out and move on? Just trying to stop any potential problems in the near future.

I never go longer than 4 years on coolant; I normally change it out at 2-3 years- but as you know, I'm OCD about maintenance.

I'll have to look at when VW changed it out but think it happened in 2017 or so. Next time I stop by mechanic's place, I'll ask him to take a look and do what he recommends. Car has been driving nicely as of late with no issues to speak of. But if I'm putting 40 miles/week on it, I'm lucky. Live very close to both part time gigs and we usually take the A3 if we go anywhere together. But, think it might be almost time to replace the coolant and move on from there.

It seems like Toyota has waffled over the years. I think their current recommendation is that a lot of the secondary fluids (transmission, transfer case, diff) get changed every 30k.
BMW doesn't call for a coolant change either, but they did before they started to offer free maintenance.
Remember when there was a drain plug, a level/fill plug on the transmission (yeah, I know, a manual). And weirder still, the rear end (back when they were in the rear) had drain and fill/level ports.
I may as well be speaking Swahili to most on here, but thought I'd throw this in.

When I wanted the rear differential serviced, my mechanic had to buy a special tool from the Snap-On driver. Nothing he had would fit in the hole. And, this was on an '06 model.
Wait, how did we get on maintenance in the RWTIV thread?
For what it's worth, every single car I've had, including the 2014 Audi Q7, have used a standard 1/2" driver plug for the differentials (rear for sure, often all). The only possible exceptions are the Subarus, wherein the front/center differential plug is a T70 Torx.
What has become rather obnoxious in modern times is changing out transmission fluid.
