All's well until the end when a middle lane camper and left lane camper/illegal unsafe lane changer combine both of their negligence at the same time to make a near miss. Only not a wreck due to excellent braking by the BMW M4.

The middle lane camper should NEVER have been in that lane. The left lane camper should NEVER have been in the left/passing lane at that time crossing over two lanes. The whole thing set in motion due to someone not knowing the first thing about driving in the correct right lane.

I never really thought of this before but if it weren’t for lane campers that force idiots to slow down there would be even more high speed accidents.

I think some lane campers should be called, “speed controllers”.

The guy filming was really going way too fast for the traffic he was in. The so called left lane camper was only in the left lane for what 7 seconds and merged into the left lane when the driver filming it was quite a distance behind. My guess is that if he wasn't doing 180+ it would have been a non issue.
Exactly....the guy going 150 mph in the BMW was the most reckless guy on the road. he was going way to fast considering the speed of the other cars around him, and he wouldn't be able to react in time if someone pulled into his lane at the wrong time. He wasn't driving defensively, and he could have collided with the Mazda if the timing of the Mazda passing happened a bit later.
Yes if he was going say 10 MPH faster than the flow of traffic the distance he was behind the other car when that car went into the left lane it wouldn't have even been close. Especially since that other car did a very quick pass. It's very dangerous to go that much faster than the flow of traffic.
I think the pass happened "very quickly" only because the Mazda driver realized his life was in danger after making the boneheaded cutoff lane change.

Had it not been for the pressure from behind, I'm sure they would have lollygagged and dawdled.

The Mazda guy didn't think some moron would be traveling twice as fast as every other car on the road. You would have to be an above average driver to anticipate how fast that guy was traveling...hard to do when you glance in your rear view mirror. And the guy in the fast moving BMW....driving in the left lane even when he should move over when he can, is oblivious to all other cars...making him the most unsafe driver in the video.
Your post is making me re-watch the video again.
The BMW driver is the worst kind of driver. He thinks he is so good that he can handle anything....but he doesn't take into account that the other drivers don't have the same ability. He has "0" that is "Zero" defensive driving capability....not enough time to react if someone does something without anticipating his speed....which is almost impossible to do as he comes up from behind.

Almost impossible is not the case. It just takes looking in ones mirrors to assess the speed of vehicles in the lane you wish to go into. On the Autobahn, this is crucial. You might get away with it (it being skipping this important driving safety step to changing lanes competently) 99.8% of the time in the USA.

I never heard of Locktite but that is probably what it needs. One is holding.....the other came off. I think the threads are worn out and it doesn't hold. The knob that held is on a dresser pull out drawer, the one that came off again is on a swing out door on the night table - and it is a bit stuck......that knob is stripped. Might have to get the guy, my BIL when he comes over.

If I understood the Ziebart job description correctly the car would go out the dealer’s back door and then get returned after the ceramic coating was done without the customer being the wiser. The poor customer got to pay both Ziebart and the dealer.

I have a question, who in you household is strong arming all these pulls? Whoever it is should remove a few weights when doing their bench presses.

I remember when I was a little kid my father brought home some unmarked sample tubes of a new miracle glue that some start up company was trying to sell to General Electric. I had tons of fun gluing everything I could find together PERMANENTLY. It was incredible, gluing metal on our bikes metal baseball bats, even my fingers. We had never seen anything like it since the best glue we had was Elmers. The company was called Loctite.

I would guess the number would be between none and next to none. Seeing the placement of the radiator and where the license plate goes would make it extremely hard to do unless you are incompetent or don't know where the license plate goes.

Speaking of wax/shine products, it’s been a very long time since I’ve heard or seen any dealerships pushing “mop and glo” services. Wonder how those vehicles who have those products are holding up? IIRC, some of them promised a life time of shine. Wonder how they look 10 years later?

Some of the arguments for front plates is to assist red-light scameras to issue revenue generation citations/tickets. If one doesn't believe in red-light cameras being proper or legal, then using that argument won't win any favors.

I believe there were 4 little holes on my A3; probably increased the Coefficient of drag thereby wasting fuel.

Should we warmer the rest of the week, but rain too so I did the wash today. Now have to keep it inside until Saturday when the roads are clean and dry.

The other car is already dirty so will use that instead, and wash it on the weekend.

Maverick easy to wash. I can reach the roof, which is small. Bed cover saves a lot of SF. and it has good ground clearance so very easy to get the hose underneath to clean the salt off from the bottom.

Hope driver realizes there are 2 flavors of Loctite. From their website:

Expect that red light cameras capture the back plate. The rational is for security purposes as criminals can take advantage of having no front plate and also for tracking down hit and runs as witnesses seeing the car from the front can get the plate number.

It usually isn’t the screw gone bad. It’s the threads in the knob.

Just buy new knobs. They come with new screws. Problem solved, assuming you can use a screwdriver.

For a wooden knob with the threads stripping the wood inside, place a flat toothpick
into the wood and some wood glue. Put the knob back on the screw. Tighten
some as you feel it grip due to the extra wood inside. Then stop and let the glue
set up. Try to tighten more the next day if needed.--The Guy

They are on my drawer. Round knobs tend to turn a bit every time you pull a drawer out or open a door. I try to tighten them, but it seems the wood is deteriorating and the thread is getting stripped.

As Stick said, it may be the knob and not the screw. I was giving you the cheapest alternate. Almost all cabinet screws are #8-32 thread. You just have to get the correct length.

You can get a package of knobs with screws for around $20.

In my wisdom I took a good one off of a little used drawer and tried switching them.........for some reason the good one wouldn't work where the stripped one was.......now that doesn't make sense. But, I'll try toothpicks first, try to find some wooden knobs next, and try buying new screws 3rd. This is going to be a major project.....should have called the guy...or at least my BIL.

You’ve gotta get off the pickle ball courts and get out into the real world.

Go to any hardware store or big box store and you’ll find more knobs and screws than you’ll know what to do with. If you change the knobs it will give the furniture a different look for much, much less than buying new furniture. If Mrs. driver didn’t know better she’ll think you’re a genius.
