Hello, I have two months to go on a 2019 Lexus ES 350 (it was a 3 year lease/36k). I am interested in leasing a 2022 NX 250 Premium 4door all wheel drive A8, 10k/3 year lease with $0 down. My zip code is 33629. I have two quotes:
Quote 1 - CAVIAR BLACK WITH RIOJA RED INTERIOR MSRP $41,400 PACKAGE AND ACCESORIES $1065 DELIVERY $1075 TOTAL PRICE - $43,540 Cap cost $43540 Paint protection $795 Trade amount ($30,000) Payoff $21,820.59 Trade Balance ($8179.41) Fees $2411.50 Adj cap cost = $39,241.81 Residual $26,559.40 36 mo/10k miles, $0 down = $587.38
Quote 2: RED with solid black interior Market value Selling Price $47,843 Total Savings 1,500 Adjusted price $46,343 Trade allowance $31,750 Trade difference $14,593 Taxable fees estimated $234.50 Tax $130.09 Non tax fees $2,214 Net price $17,171.59 Trade payoff $21,820 Balance $38,991
36 mo/10k miles, $0 down = $461 or if I receive $1500 cash back then $521 a month
I am strongly considering going Quote 2 since they are giving me a $11k equity in my lease. What would be your recommendation_ I still have several months in my lease but don’t want to wait until the last minute especially since they seem hard to find. Thank you for any feedback

It's nice getting $8K equity from your current lease. But, I wouldn't give that up for a crappy deal on a new one. For $22K, I just buy out the lease and keep driving the car I have
I agree with you but i have the car under my business name so I prefer to lease plus I do enjoy the change every 3 years or so-especially this time around since I’ve had the ES 350 for the last 4 leases.
Thank you for the comment Kyfdx, can you give me some guidance on where the numbers should be? I’m not looking for a steal -just at least a fair deal since I do need to lease again and this time I am switching to a different model.

Quote #2 is definitely the better deal. I don't know if you can do any better. I've already given my opinion on what I would do.
Well, as it turns out I did not realize until now that the Deal 2 was for an NX 350 and not an NX250 and I did not know that the NX350 uses only premium gas which I definitely do not want. Going back to the drawing board to research both carefully before deciding what to do.

If it's $70/mo cheaper than the other one, then that will more than pay for the extra $0.70/gallon for Premium.

Hello, I’m in the final stages of negotiating my lease -the car I had originally looked at was purchased just as I drove up to the dealer so I’m waiting for delivery on another next week. My question now pertains to the trade in value and whether to put that towards the lease payments or just have a higher payment and get cash back. I want to have the higher payment and get the cash back since I’m deducting it from my business. My question—I have three options and can’t figure out which is best because the net total is different: 36 mo lease
$494 payment if i roll the equity into new lease.
$544 payment if I only take $1500 of equity as cash back
$662 payment if I take $5k equity back
$863 payment if I take the full $11k equity as cash back.
My simple calculations:
$494 x 36 =$17,784 paid + $11k equity=$28784
$544 x 36 = $19,584 paid - $1,500 equity as cash back=$18,084
$662 x 36 = $23,832 paid - $5k equity cash back=$18,832
$863 x 36 = $31,068 paid -$11k equity cash back =$20,068
I would have thought that, since the payments include taxes, any of those options would have resulted in the same amount of of pocket for me. Apparently, it seems as though the $544 may be the least expensive option. Am I missing something?
Thank you in advance.

MSRP Selling price Location
Normally, we'd tell you to take all the equity and put it into your bank account, but these aren't normal times.
So sticker price is the $47,713. They had originally —by mistake —-discounted the price by $1500. I had previously requested a quote for an ES350 which has an incentive of $1500 and when they gave me the quote for the NX 350 they realized the error but honored it. So, what they did was increase my trade in value from the $31,250 to $33,750. So sticker price is same as selling price.
I should also note I’ve checked with dealers in central Florida and some won’t even sell outside their local area. No other dealer gave me any discounts on the price, if anything, the extra fees were ridiculous and had no inventory. This dealer gave me the best price and was straightforward so I put a deposit. I just have to choose which payment option. I checked with 3 other local dealers. This is with zero down, turning in my current lease of ES 350 that is up sept 1, excellent credit.

If you can afford the payment, then don't use any equity from the trade - if the car is stolen or totaled during the lease, that up front equity would be gone.
Perfect that’s what I’m going to do. I will go ahead and do the $863 payment. Any idea why the total amounts paid are different? I would think they total net out of pocket should be the same for all options. ?

The rent charge amount is different, based on the adjusted cap cost for each deal. Higher cap cost = higher rent charge.
Assuming that the money factor is the same for each of the deals - you can confirm that with the dealer.
