It is.
Bad decisions, no strength in the farm system, and the altitude.
BTW, as of last week, they are batting .189 ON THE ROAD. It’s been forever since a team was under the Mendoza line on the road.

I don’t think you can siphon off electrons. I’m pretty sure you need a flux-induced magna-generator thingy to do that. I seem to remember using one of those in my first year electrical lab. There has to be advancements by now but surely not a mechanical siphon.

————————————————Yeah, that’s roughing it alright. I hear those things don’t even work when the temps fall below 50 F. Built in self preservation.

Truck worked to earn its keep again. Got everything to the transfer station (so glad we have one in this town. No clue what I would do otherwise) in 2 trips. Then blew out the leftover debris from the bled with my leaf blower. This stuff would have trashed our suv if it had to go inside.

Me too. It’s the same guy that cuts my grass. He is doing it in stages. Right now he’s doing a good bit of trimming the landscaping and will finish up with about 4 yards of mulch. Then he’ll knock on the door and I’ll pay him, just like I did last year. Although this year because he said the mulch will cost more, I think I’m going to owe him about 400 bucks was $375 last year.

The most mulch I’ve ever picked up at one time was in the Wrangler. I think I got 40 bags piled into it. Once the back door closed, I was sliding them in through the open sky roof 1 by 1.

I did bags with my first Maverick once. No clue how many I got though. But is was quite a few. Bed was pretty full.

Thanks for the charge port door thoughts, even though I'm already having buyer's remorse, since I told the SA to go ahead and order the new part, I'll go with it and once again set my 401k on fire due to the siren song of European cars.
Wow, that was a long sentence.

You’re right that was a long sentence. You would not have made it through my 5th grade doing that, at least not in one try. Kinda like me. Yep, I’m pretty sure your 5th grade sentence would have been extended for at least another year.

That said, does the mulch do a decent job of suppressing weed growth? Might be something we should consider at the Conneaut house. My wife is very anti-landscaping-fabric, and the weeds love her for it, but we need to come up with something. We're not there enough to just rely on time-tested gardening skills alone.
Our "guy" that was mowing the place for the last three summers chose not to continue this year, so we had to scramble to find another taker. Thankfully, we were able to enlist the company that manages the yard of the elderly couple next door to us (we share about 150' of lawn along the northern property line). They were only willing to take us on because our lawn wouldn't require additional mobilization time for them. We pay the same price as if they were, so I guess it is a good deal for them, too! Anyhow, it ended up being nearly three weeks since we mowed it while we were down there, and I guess the grass grew about 18" in many places during that time. Impressive!
I bought 5 or 6 one and a half cu ft bags and that was just enough(5 bags for $10).
The beach pebble rock I bought was much more expensive, 4 bags about $50.
I'm going to buy a couple more bags to make sure the low coverage spots are filled in.
Probably could get away with one more bag.
The rocks don't wear out as fast as the mulch.

The weeds that grow on top of the landscape fabric are easy to pull out since they have no deep roots. The small spider roots of those weeds just live off of the junk in the mulch. One small yank and they are gone.
I just wish I wouldn’t have been in a hurry when we moved in here in the Fall of 1998, well really the following Spring when I did some of the initial landscaping. I ran out of the fabric and decided to get done what I could before it got dark one evening rather than getting more fabric and finishing up the next day. BIG mistake. Now I can tell where those spots were every Spring but putting down extra mulch in those areas does help but not as well as more fabric would have done.
I never did like playing in the dirt and landscaping is one job I’ll gladly pay someone to do for me.

It lasted over an hour.
Maybe I'm an old curmudgeon but I just don't get it.
My thought is, if you graduate from high school, that's worth celebrating.
It doesn't help that I watched this the other day.
Alternatively, you could really cheap out like I do and wait until the neighbors hire tree trimmers and get a free load of wood chips.

You’re right about landscape fabric. I prefer to use it because the weeds that grow in the mulch tend to be easier to remove with a quick hoeing.

Now my oldest daughter is ready to get something new for the same reasons. She drove an Audi Q3 yesterday which she didn't like, but the point is that's 3 repeating customers they have lost so far that I know of, and I know of 3 others who feel the same.
Their tactics must be working though or, you would think, they would stop doing it.

And even then it wouldn’t work. I find the weeds will start themselves anywhere. They are like pearls. One grain of sand in the mulch and the weed will find a way to grow in it.

What a coincidence. As I make this post the guy is putting down the mulch. So I guess he’s done with the landscape trimming and nuisance work. I also guess he’s going to want paid today. Everything was fine until I thought of that.

I don't get the appeal of these. And, yes, they are illegal to drive this way in SC. My neighbor's son
who is in his early 20s has spent $$$, and done a first class job on this conversion. Height adjustable suspension, free flow exhaust, under wheel well led lighting, etc. He has competed in shows and done well. But I just don't get it.

The garden center a few miles away charges $40 per 20 cubic foot "scoop," which should easily fit in the Maverick's bed, but only one at a time. I'd have had to have made three trips, and I only have the bed mat, so would probably scratch the other parts of the bed during unloading. They deliver (not sure of the fee), but there's a four scoop minimum, which is more than I can use.
That would be a phenomenal price. I think you mean 2 cubic yard scoop.
Think about the old saying, “full 9 yards” (like in concrete). Large dump trucks can’t handle 20 cubic yards. It always comes down to the decimal point.

The first Memorial Day weekend when we lived in SC, Mrs. j and I decided to go to Hilton Head for a long weekend. That started a trend until we moved back to the Burgh.
Memorial Day weekend pretty much kicks off the Summer season for beach towns and the water temp there was very nice. We went back the 4th of July weekend and the water temp was like taking a bath. I couldn’t believe the ocean could be that warm. Far warmer than Ocean City MD. where we spent several vacations when our sons were teenagers. While living in SC for 5 years I’ll bet we went to Hilton Head at least 3 times each Summer. I remember there was an outlet mall down there that Mrs. j couldn’t pass up. I think our Sons came down and joined us at least 4 times. Lots of nice memories.
Have a nice vacation before heading back to your KY retirement villa.
