RSE is 1,800 or so depending on the year. I think 2007 is still 1,800.
Realistically probably not much less then 30,000 if you want the car certified and it doesn't have any stories with normal miles for a 2007.
I have a 2007 in stock now with factory RSE and Nav and I have it at 30,000. I wouldn't discount it more then a few hundred bucks unless something drastic changed in the marketplace.
Bloomington, Indiana (Indianapolis, Indiana)
SMG
15k miles
alpine white/ light grey leather/ dark blue softtop
harmon kardon stereo CD (but the motor sounds better), 19 inch wheels, SMG, heated power seats, xenons, (poss. rear parking distance), 3M clear hood/ bumper protection, (no navi), sirius radio add on but has black antenna on top of trunk lid that looks odd on a white car, rollover protection (?standard?), aftermarket window tint
bottom edge of front bumper has curb rash on both sides, rear bumper has 1.5 inch long scratch that is about 1/4 inch wide, most rims have curb rash that's not too bad but one looks refinished rather poorly (waves in paint), rim centercaps faded and need replaced, tires 40-50% tread left
clean carfax - 2 owners - first supposedly a owner of a local bmw store and car sold reportedly as CPO to second owner -but local dealer unsure if CPO is transferrable.
SMG is a little odd to me, not too bad if you remind yourself that it's really a manual- but it goes like stink
Please let me know what you think it is worth with and without CPO
Poss trade in to follow
Thanks,
Mark
1995 BMW 325 convertible
AT
25k miles (not a typo)
calypso red (metallic burgundy)/ tan leather/ black softtop
sport pkg, sport seats, rollover protection pkg, alpine am/fm cd, alarm system, heated seats, power mirrors, traction control, trip computer
black strip in center of front bumper has 1/4 inch scrape, 2-3 rock chips front of hood, rear bumper has 1 inch long 1/4 inch wide scratch in area below the black strip, new battery, new tires (bridgestone), all maintenance records, plastic rear window has scatches where it folds but it is not a problem to see out of, black plastic tubing on outside of softtop around rear window is loose on about 1/4 inch where it meets to start of the tubing.
drivers seat has barely noticeable area where leather cracked a bit and was repaired, new floormats
no accidents
Please let me know trade in and private sale $$
Thanks,
Mark
When we had X Plan it was 4% over invoice. The buyer gets whatever rebates and dealer cash they qualify for. The financing incentives are the same as for a retail buyer.
I'd figure a retail @ $40,000. wholesale @ $33-34,000
Figure $5-7,000 trade in.
Private party,could see $8-9,000.
Thanks for your replies on both vehicles. The guy that details my cars has repeatedly told me to let him know when I want to sell it. I'm unsure about the M3 SMG. Maybe I should look for a 911 cab 2S that I've really always wanted. What years do you recommend (if you have any insight). I like the 06, 07 but I know nothing about reliability of the new water cooled motors.
Thanks again,
Mark
If you do buy a newish bmw or porsche, where's the nearest dealer, or good indie service shop? Indy? And of course a newish M3 or porsche will be on a whole 'nother level of maintenence costs from your old bmw.......
There's a factory trained indie BMW shop in my town and the closest dealer is 45 minutes away on the south side of Indy. Local indie shop handles porsche as well - they have a very good reputation.
Nearest Porsche dealer is north side of Indy - 75 minute drive but I'm unsure about their reputation.
They're asking 36,777 as a starting point but they're unsure of the cpo status. I think I remember that with bmw, the cpo follows the vin #. They say that they have the cpo paperwork, but that they don't believe the cpo is transferrable.
If you are interested in Porsches, I saw an '07 Cayman today at the P-dealer for $41,900....

I'm not a big fan of the SMG box, heard too many bad things.

Thanks in advance!!!
He was at a dealer and looking at a 2004 Volvo XC90 T6 (turbo).
Zip code 15237
62K Miles
Tires about 1/2 worn
Has leather, roof, 3rd row
Paint is in good condition...some minor scratches overall.
Interior is ok to good...he said it looks like it needs a good cleaning.
Dealer said he would sell for $14,500
I read up on these and the T6 has a transmission (GM 4 speed I think) that has been known to fail. He said the Carfax had no recalls or repairs.
I thought it seems like a good deal...but maybe the tranny problems are bigger than I read about?
Anyway...thoughts on the value of this vehicle?
Just read the "transmission" thread on the XC90...YIKES!!!
I guess I can see why they would be selling these for around $14,000.
It sounds like it's almost a given that if you have a T6, you are going to need a new transmission.
Should be able to get it for $13-13500
I guess the question is...would you buy it at this price (13-13.5K), given the known tranny issues with the T6? I am guessing I should not "recommend" it???
It seems like a lot of car for the money...but a risky proposition.
Anybody know where to find units sold/problems reported data? Just curious the percentage of 2004 T6 transmissions that have actually failed...
RE: The M3 SMG
Yes BMW CPOs stay with the car even if it is traded into a dealer. You don't need to do anything special to make it transfer.
All the BMW SMGs I have driven were bad I would stay away from it.
I think all the XC90 T6 Transmissions failed.

Above are real world average numbers that a dealer would work from. GPS systems and the like have little impact on wholesale pricing. Condition and mileage are far more important.
Indianapolis IN but willing to travel to get (or ship)
6 speed manual
rwd/ awd if C4S
3-7k miles, up to 20k miles
seeing mostly guards red/ tan or black leather available (prefer white or silver with tan or light grey int)
power seats, heated seats, sport exhaust, +/- navi
assume clean carfax, no accidents
Seeing several - even ebay. Wondering what these can be realistically had either as used or CPO vehicles.
Thanks in advance for the insight.

White, 48k miles
Base model V6 AWD - with moonroof as the only option worth mentioning.
It's in good condition - clean interior and exterior, no dings or dents, tires about 50%, all services up to date.
Looking at a 2008 Mazda CX-9:
Silver, 33k miles
Sport model AWD - no additional options.
Good condition - a small dent on the window trim and a cigarette burn hole on the rear seat. Based on the Carfax, it's a previous rental car and it would seem the dealership has had it for 2-3 months.
What do you all think on trade for my Toyota, and what would you estimate the dealership has in the Mazda?
Thanks!

Figure low to mid $50's private party and probably high $50's for a CPO car.
Milers @ $22-24k
Current wholesale on the Mazda is @ $22,000. Hard to say what the dealer is in the car,esp if they have had it a while. If you can get the car in the mid $20's it would be a good deal.
I imagine if I went the private sale route on the Highlander it'd be $16-$17k?
And is that wholesale estimate for the CX-9 for the sport (base) model? I'm just surprised they're holding that kind of value - seems you can get a new one for $26-$27k.
Again - thanks a bunch.

Holy Moley! An $18--20K hit in one year? And I thought my car had poor trade-in value. At 3,000 miles it hasn't even been broken in.
