Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
If you're not following the Montero auction, it's currently at $9K with about 7 hours left. Anyone want to guess what the final price will be?
I'm thinking $14K.

Stopped being a Hoovie fan a while ago. Every once in a while I'll check his channel out. Found this one interesting.
3 year old Mercedes EQS for $34K. I'd bite if I found one at that price.

Re: 2025 Honda Prologue Lease Deals, Incentives, Rebates, and Prices
2% of $59,085 is $1181 and changeThank you, I drive around 11.5k wanted to see rates for more just in case. With that to put in into perspective, an additional 2% residual between 12k miles and 15k miles is about $1044 over 36 months. (MSRP is $59805 for an elite). Honda charges between .15 and .25 cents a mile. So overage mileage is between $150 and $250 per 1000 miles. So it does make a difference. So 3k extra miles is between $450 and $750 and that 2% reduces the monthly by $29. So it does matter. For 24 months, +1% for 12K and +2% for 10KI mean that's just not trueIf you're going to drive 15,000 miles a year, the overage charges if you go with a 10K or 12K lease will negate any savings in the monthly payment.I appreciate the post. Do you mind giving me the same but residuals for 24/10 and 12, 36/10 and 12, because even though the MF came down woof that residual for 36 months is just bad..00133 MFThanks you the response. I'll ask again later!Updating today. We don't have the new numbers, yet. Usually by this eveningAre these the numbers throughout the month? I see the current deals are updating today when checking my local dealership.Hello, can I get lease MF, residual, and incentives for 24/15 and 36/15 in 08012 for:.00181 MF
2025 Touring AWD
2025 Elite AWD
$7500 EV credit
$2500 dealer cash
$8000 captive lease offer
Elite: 50%/45% residual
Tour: 51%/46% residual
$7500 EV credit
$2500 dealer cash
$5500 captive lease offer
Elite: 48%/43% residual
Tour: 49%/44% residual
There is no "sweet spot" for mileage - get however many you think you'll need. The payment difference is negligible.
For 36 months, +2% for 12K and +3% for 10K
Do you not know how many miles you drive in a year?
Assuming the cap cost is MSRP less incentives of $15,500, the 24/15 payment is $747/mo before taxes. 24/12 is $723/mo - $24/delta, or $576 over the 24 month term.
If Honda charges .20 per mile for overage, and you drive 15K per year on a 12K lease, that's 6000 extra miles, or $1200 in fees.
I'm not sure that going with the lower mileage allowance when you know you're going to exceed it makes sense, financially. I'd rather pay the $576 in extra payments rather than $1200 in one lump sum at lease end.

Passport, another Outback. Not hybrids but fit the bill. Not sure where a 4xe Grand Cherokee would come in price wise but with your trade it might get close.
I do like the Passport a whole lot, and the Ridgeline for that matter, and I like that they both come with a good old fashioned V6 in them. The Ridgeline can be had for $40K-ish, but the Passport is creeping up to the $50K level in the trim I like (Trailsport). Perhaps another look at other trim levels - and interior colors - is warranted.
Not certain I'd want another Outback. Been there, done that with Subaru - and, I've read that the latest iteration of their infotainment system is a bit buggy.
Last year Lexus ES. Hybrid or V6, the choice is yours.
I have always had a soft spot for the ES. I'll have to do some research on pricing for some that are a few years old with 25-40K on the odometer.
My first suggestion would be to try to sell your spouse on an AWD Camry hybrid in the luxury XLE level. Your Colorado climate, and the fact that you're both used to AWD, makes that $1500 AWD option on the Camry a good idea from my pov. If you skip the other options that would mean an msrp of about $37k
My second suggestion, if you can't sell your wife on a fun-to-drive sedan, would be a Subaru Forester Hybrid Premium, which has an msrp of $38k
I do like the fact that the Camry is available with AWD - it seems like my plan to move somewhere warmer is a non-starter with the wife. Of the cars I've mentioned, I'm looking at the top trim level - spoil myself. For the Camry, that would be the XSE trim, which stickers at about $42K equipped the way I want.
I've looked briefly at the Forester hybrid, and am intrigued by it - Sarah 'n' Tuned had a review of one recently, and she really liked it, because it's the rare hybrid that isn't paired with a CVT. Not sure about the size, compared to the other SUVs I'm considering.

Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
So if anyone sees a super cheap truck lease let me know!
A year or so ago Chevy had a good lease deal on the Silverado. Somewhere mid to upper 300's if memory serves. Well equipped, 4x4. It was the turbo 4 which caused consternation for some hardline truck guys.
Maybe they will bring that back? Seems like it was in the late summer/early fall time.

Local FB ad for a 2001 Lexus LX. 299K miles. Same owner since 2003. Appears to be overdue for a timing belt/water pump. Looks really good in pictures. $5500.
I low-key want this

Re: 2025 Cadillac Lyriq Lease Deals, Incentives, Rebates, and Prices
Interesting that it appears residuals significantly decreased but money factors had a corresponding decrease, likely netting a similar result (not that I'm closely following Lyriq deals or anything).Right..
Also, it's possible that previously, they weren't adding $7500 to the calculated and residual, and now they are?
It seems GM has a different plan on the EVs, every month.
