What is an S SE? Is that an S w/ select pack? If so, you’ll probably see numbers around $18k. You should be able to push to 19. But even up to $20k if they are desperate to make a deal and the car glows in the dark.

yes, select pack. That is how Mazda finance listed it on the lease page. Number makes sense. Dealer showed 19K. Shooting for about that, which would get them out of the lease early without any (or very little) cost.

The Tacoma didn’t work out.

Shows accident history. You might want to have it looked over to assess how much damage it sustained, unless the seller has some proof of what was done to fix it.

Assuming only minor and assuming it is in great condition, $5k would be quite fair. NO accident history would have made sense at $5900.

Learned Friends:

It's quiet around here. Not that I've been any big help with that.
But I do have a question.

A friend-of-a-friend is selling a 2007 Chevrolet Express passenger van w/ 170k miles. Regular length, 8 passenger version. They all had the 5.3 l V8 and the light-duty 4speed auto.

It was her husband's and he passed away recently. She's too short to drive it herself, plus she has a couple of other cars. My friend was helping her move house and the van was supposed to be his for the trouble, but he doesn't want it either -- so I was asked to figure out what it's worth. Pictures below, since with a car that age, it's all in the condition. I know they're not smokers.

It just went from MI to FL and back without trouble, and the only rust is supposed to be a spot on the running boards. Winters in Florida, apparently.

This really is the relatively "rare" (as opposed to "special") passsenger version -- not a cargo van, and not a conversion van either. I have no more information, so I realize it's awfully thin.

Thanks! I've sent a message to try and get the VIN. As usual, these aren't car people. Cargo vans -- including the ones that went to conversion companies -- probably outnumbered the passenger version 50 or 100 to 1.

I had a 2004 Express cargo version. Only paid $1800 for it in 2016 and sold it in 2024 with 125k miles for $1000. Mine was badly rusted which is why I sold it cheap, too cheap as I found out from the clamor from buyers. Typically on Craigslist I see them with similar mileage for about $5k. I don’t know if the passenger seats add or detract from value. Somebody who wants to convert to cargo can simply unbolt the seats. I think the absence of rust would make it desirable as they all tend to rot out in my area.
