Sorry - didn't mean to annoy anyone with my weather report. It's really too hot for me for this time of year.

Moms sonata goes goes in for service today. And I'll get a chance to look at dads truck more closely. I've seen some cosmetic issues with it and I'm told it might have a slight oil leak.

So move to northern California. It's only 70 here right now and we do actually get frost 3 or 4 times a year.

Hi Q! Wondering about my 2014 Mustang GT. We just don't drive it so I'm thinking about something new for the spring. It's the base GT, manual transmission.
    Ruby Red exterior
    Black cloth
    Power drivers seat
    Tech package
    Sync package
    Reverse sensors with security package
1800 miles (not a typo, less than 2k miles)
Garage kept, looks brand new. I changed the oil at 12 months.
I am in Virginia. Hope that covers the details. I always seem to forget something.

Hi @qbrozen I know I've asked about my Q50 Hybrid before, but this time it's really time to get rid of it. I've tried private selling for a couple of months with little interest, curious what I could get for it:

    2014 Q50 Hybrid Premium AWD
Has the technology package but not the sport
    45k miles
    Clean carfax, needs 2 tires
    Location is eastern NC

    Thanks!

I'm down at my house in Myrtle beach for another month. I play golf 4 to 5x a week and have a big posse of friends that love cars buy and sell often . I will pass the word around for you. What is the exterior/ interior color. Does it have Nav ? The mpg's, and bottom line price .............. See what I could do.

@qbrozen we spoke about pricing on a 03 bmw 540i 6spd w / 60k . My neighbor's not sure if he wants to part with it. Offered him 14k. Service records are impeccable all work done at Ray Catena. Coolant system, timing chain, valley pan gasket, Muffler and pipes . New brakes, rotors, ft end etc. . This guy is on top of this car. I might make final offer at 15k. Is it worth more than 15k? thoughts

    Thanks @brian125!

It's dark gray with black interior, it has nav, all the safety features (blind spot, adaptive cruise, lane departure, foward collision, etc.) The lifetime avg mpg is around 31. The hybrid component of this car is as much for power but it does help efficiency.

I'd be happy to send some pics if any of them are interested. I started at 32,900 but now I'm at 29,900. Probably could go a little lower on it if there's interest. I'm just up in Wilmington, so I'm sure we can arrange something for anyone who'd like to see it.

It's a great car, I just like to trade often and not having an Infiniti dealer here was a great reason to get something new. :)

    Thanks!

What did I say about it before?

Even $14k seems like alot to me. But people do tend to get silly over well-cared-for, low-mileage, rare-model bimmers.

on the Q50, that's a helluva lotta miles for one of these. Only one other came close with 41,600 miles last month that sold for $25,200. So probably $23k-$24k as a trade. Consider yourself lucky to see $27k down private-sale road.

Got it. I'll shop it around for you jpp. Problem with the Q50's they lease pretty cheap. Try posting it in a Infinity forum if you haven't already.

Back in Jan I requested some help on trade in price for:

    2014 Subaru Forester XT Premium
    Silver Metalllic
    33,500 miles
    Clean Carfax
One ding on door, interior all good.
    Tires at 4/32"

    San Diego CA

qbrozen came back with: "Given the condition, I'm going to peg this at $21k-$21.5k trade."

    Yesterday @ 36,500 miles Carmax offered 21k.

Residual is 20,000 so will pocket 1k. Really impressed with Subaru's strong resale value.

Many thanks to qbrozen again for all his valuable help.

    Q,
How about a trade value on a 2013 Escape?
47k, black over black, Titanium, AWD, 2.0, Moonroof, Nav, Heated seats, Factory trailer package, 19 inch wheels, self park, pretty much everything.
Estimate tires 30% left. Dealer maintenance every 5k, great condition overall.
    Thanks.

Hey Q, looking for an estimated dealer trade value on the following:
    Central Florida
    2013 gmc Sierra 1500 sle 2wd, black
Big upgrades: 5.3 v8, tow package, 20" factory wheels, chrome package
    18,500 miles
Clean history and very good condition in and out.
    Tires probably have 60% remaining

    Thanks in advance!

@qbrozen Thanks for the info on the 2014 Q50 Hybrid, I ended up getting $25k for it. I used the AutoTrader Instant Offer, I wasn't impressed with that process at all, but it got me out of the car and I got a number I was OK with for it.

    That's a regular cab, I presume?

I have no recent comps to go by. The closest was about 5 mos ago up north with 12k miles that sold for $18,500. But, that's up north with 2wd. So here we are, half a year later, down in FL with 50% more miles. hmmmm... I think I'm feeling $17.5k.

We don't have a CarMax here, I toyed with driving to Raleigh or Charlotte, but I was happy with the $25k. I appreciate you asking around!

Yeah, the resale on this one was disappointing, but I knew that going into it and learned some things with this car.

And yes, we still have the 3% highway use tax when you buy a vehicle.

    Q,
A few months ago, I asked you for a quote for my 2013 Fusion.
You came in at 14k, but because I had a fender replaced, your final answer was 12k.
The repair does show up on Autocheck.
After negotiating a price of 250 over invoice for a 2016 MKC, the first offer was 12,500.
I said was are going to shop another dealer that I am working with.
    They came back with 13,500.
I said split the difference (13,750) and it's a deal.
    It is a deal.
I am trading it in at the dealer I bought it from.
    Thanks again for your guidance.

link below is all Incentives/ rebates on the 2016 MKC. If you have not signed deal yet pull back you may be leaving a lot of money on the table still. Again if you have not signed shoot for invoice price minus all rebates incentives due you. My friend up north wants me to look into pricing for this same vehicle. I should have a good feel on pricing by next week if you want to wait. . I would check out True-Car with your zip code and model to see where pricing is in your area.

    There is a 2k lease bonus cash incentive ...................1/5 2016 to 4/4-2016
A 1k bonus cash incentive for owners of a 2005 and newer buying another Ford/ Lincoln. There are more incentives check below to see which ones apply to you.

    @brian215,
Very interesting link but I don't think we qualify for most of those incentives.
We are getting a $1000 incentive.
There is also some 0% financing available, although we haven't gotten that far yet.

$250 above Invoice plus the 1k incentive I hope ??? If not walk away from this deal. Double check the rest of listed incentives you may be owed more than 1k.

Getting dealers Invoice price minus the 1k in incentive money that's due you is where you want to be on 2016 MKC deal , Not $250 above invoice ( including the 1k incentive ) plus your states $399 doc fee. Dealers getting over a few dollars on your Trade in but you will save on the tax side of this equation.

If dealer sells you this vehicle @ invoice price minus your rebate of 1k ( doesn't come out of dealers pocket ) they still pocket the Hold-back money on this vehicle which is 3% of total MSRP plus the doc fee charge . Right there is 1k in dealers pocket for selling you @invoice price. Most dealers would grab this easy money.

Again if this deal is not signed yet take your time and investigate some more with other dealers and price. Just by what you told me there could be a easy 1250 dollar savings if rebate ( 1K )was added to your $250 above invoice price.

I use these 5 dealers when I help friends and family buy Fords. Might be worth a call or visit

Hammonasset, Colonial, Stamford Ford, Columbia, Shaker family Ford.

    I never haul stuff. B)

That's plan B, but I don't want two cars in my garage and it would sit in the baking sun for days or weeks on end. I dunno, just don't like owning stuff that I rarely use "just in case".

TMV trade-in is $3,085. May put it on craigslist and ask $5,000, take less.

That's if the Kia dealer figures out that I'm not going to "come on down" and emails me some numbers and a VIN. They are really in the 20th Century here.

You know, when you hit 150K, you've pretty much hit what I call the "any decent used car" basement level pricing. No decent used car will go below $XXX dollars. For the dealer to make his customary $1500 bucks or better, he's not going to offer you much above (if that) what Q says.

If it had a moonroof I could be your weirdo. If you want to wait until October. 2017. Then I would be all over it!

South Carolina is a good place to be CCBA. $300 max sales tax on vehicles.

That's about the only good thing about South Carolina. :)

Stick, know what you mean about the sun/moonroof...use mine every chance I get now since we're in the middle of our "winter" if one could call it that. Open it fully whenever possible and just love it. Haven't sprung for the piece in front of it that blocks some of the wind but if I do end up keeping it past the two year mark, might just add one. Did some cosmetic things a few weeks back just to enhance the looks for me, went through their accessories catalog and purchased a few things. Make it a bit more personal!

    Looking for trade-in estimates in Hartford County, CT for two vehicles;
    1. 2014 VW EOS hard top convertible Komfort trim level, white exterior with black interior. 10,000 miles, no accidents and good overall condition with nothing more than minor imperfections.
    2. 2014 Nissan Rogue S, black exterior with black interior. 44,000 miles, no accidents and good overall condition with nothing more than minor imperfections.

    Thanks!

about $17k-$17.5k on the VW in CT this time of the year and

assuming your Rogue is AWD, it would be about $14.5k-$15k.

    2014 Subaru Outback "Premium" 6MT
    2.5 l 4cyl 6 speed manual
    21,500 miles
Medium blue metallic over tan cloth
Premium means cold-weather package, power driver seat, fog lamps.

    Accessories:
    Block heater
Aftermarket 2" trailer hitch, properly installed properly -- no holes cut in frame (shudder).
Wet Okole seat covers in front.

Original tires means new ones are due before next winter.
I might throw in a set of brand-new OEM 16" alloys.
Maintained one-owner car with records, and it's clean -- non-smoker, no dogs, no small children.

No accidents or damage -- a door ding and a light scuff in the black bumper plastic.

    remind me where you live.

What is with the seat covers? Take those off before you sell. Heck, I might take off the trailer hitch, too. Those are 2 things I don't want to see on a car I am buying. Suggests it has been used hard.
