I was blown away by the price as well. The list price on the Lorinser kit is something like $7K+ The best quote I could get from a dealer was $5300 for everything shown/ minus wheels. I am convinced that they will have to lower these prices because I am not sure who would pay this much for a kit for a $30k+ car. Now a $60K+ Benz is more in line with there pricing. Also, the prices on the STARTECH kit will not be out untill next month or so...but I guess it will be import priced as well???
Well the hell with thoughs kits....So you say you want to design a kit? I don't have an "M" yet but I am all ears. I have a couple of friends that are engineers with FORD and they told me about a prototype guy that has a shop here in Detroit that builds a lot of the concept cars for FORD, etc.. I had asked about some custom fiberglass work and molding work and they gave me the impression that this guy could and would do it??? He is supposed to be pretty good as well. So, yeah lets get together on this one. At thoughs prices I would be all in.
I just need to find a car. I went to price a 2001 last week and the cost was a little more than I expected, and I qualify for employee discount! So, I have been looking for 00s and 99s w/PHP.
I can't make up my mind what I want to do???
bullseye3,
From what I was told this stuff is available. The dealers have pricing. The part# on the windshield cover is 100 188 0305 01 and it cost about $475 Look on the lorinser site under Aerodynamic body parts.

NICE!
www.discounttiredirect.com sells Konig 19" wheels I have not seen any other site that list 20" for the 300M. What brands are you looking at?
Thanks everyone... still trying to get the car aligned and hoping the problem goes away when the goodyears go byebye
im definately interested in what ideas everone comes up with, sketches, whatever, show me the stuff!
now i gotta go back to work in half an hour for a night interation of land nav, in the rain. yay. nuthin like truckin thru the woods in the dark in a storm, i can hardly contain myself.
(can u sense the sarcasm?)
See my photos of my trunk letters removed
If it "ain't" broken, don't let them fix it until it is! Follow your manual's instructions. These "specials" by the "5-STARS" are nothing but moneymakers for them and not needed especially at 15,000 miles!
fastdriver
my 99 owners manual sez to do this if you plan on doing alot of driving at 75+ mph (to avoid heat buildup issues I imagine). So I assume it is just as safe at less than 75 mph!

The Yokahama dB looks loke a good choice but the closest size avalable is 235/45 17.
I think 235 is too wide for a 7" wide rim.
What are you useing ?
Any thoughts
how's the rear solenoids coming--

I like the agate (dark grey) interior--that what I have--it does get a little warmer in the hot summer sun, but it looks classy---if that car checks out OK, its not a bad deal but it sounds like about book value, the the low miles is worth a little extra---but dont forget, you could get an 01 for probably about 28K--possibly a little higher if you take the low financing rate instead of any rebates--I paid 28600 for a 00 bot in March of 00 fully loaded except the PHG--but I also got the .9% financing for 5 full years--a real bargain!
good luck in your decision--you should join the Chrysler 300M Enthusiasts Club--it has loads of benefits for a very small dues fee---

hahahah, ok i gotta write this down and pratice, lol. about the solenoids, look at my other post, i got some more ideas.....
www.autoloc.com is the place i am going to be buying my stuf from. well check this, i'm gonna have first and foremost, remote door open on rear doors, and then remote locks on front two doors. BUT, also....remote window roll up, roll down on front doors, trunk release, AND remote trunk close! sry i am just pumped up about this remote trunk close thing...now the hard part is gonna be syncing this in with my aftermarkter security system, especially since i haven't chose one yet. Alpine, DEI, or Clifford. not sure yet. but i emailed autoloc.com to help me out. the remote windows is pretty cool too, i hate it when i leave the window open a little, then have to go back into the car, put the key in, and roll it up. damn, that makes me sounds like a really lazy. k well, i'll keep ya posted....

I have a feeling that my wife is going to question my sanity once I get started. She already thinks I'm crazy because the last several nights have been spent in the garage with Zaino and my M! One night she brought my dinner out there...do ya think she was trying to make a point? Duh! I guess I should really start to worry if she throws my pillow out of the room :-|! After all...look...it's 12:20am and I'm still out here reading this forum and I have to be up in 4.5 hours. It's all good...

man if i knew all this when i put in my sound system, would of saved me hours with my multimeter and those freakin battery pop tests....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Kpm: if you try out those Yokos, let me know how they compare to the Michelins you have--I may take those Michelins off your hands if you want to upgrade early--I had the Yokos on my Mark VIII and they were the best tires I ever had--handle great and wear well too---do you live in snow country---how are the Michelins in snow
Otto: especially Avs car---nobody is going to know who built "taht" car--maybe Av should paint the name-"Avalanche" on the trunk--then again, he could get sued by Toyota--:-)

does anyone else get excited when they see other M's on the road? ive seen six so far besides mine. (not counting lots of course lol). the other drivers and i always seem to do the "sup" thing or the wave. it seems no matter the age, everyone has an unspoken group thing going, love of the car i guess!
well i have to be up in 5 hours going to the field yet again tomorrow. dang army.
and the tires:
i bought them online...

$550 for a set. i live up in the mountains. used these babies in snow, ice, rain, everything. and now using in summer, they are awesome. i dont' think they are all season, they are sport tires, but i used them and they were real good. the speed was affected a lot. much much more smooth. on those goodyears, go like highway speed, and jsut swirv around a wee little bit, the back end will lose traction and it is very dangerous if in a real situation you had to turn or swirve hard, but in these nittos, they grab the road like a squirel on nevada. we put them on my dad's car, he had 305/35zr18 before, they wre Bridgestones, then we put these nittos on, he said the ride is 10 times better now and he can do a lot more than he could with those bridgestones. also treadwear is very good on these...
Of course the 2001 will already be a model year old when you think of future resale value, depends on how long you plan to keep the car.
One 01 M had the chrome shifter, the other leather, but the chrome was not listed as an option or charged for.
The had a juiced-up red Intrepid in the showroom running 17" rims and GY Eagle #1 yellow lettering tires. Never seen those before. Has anyone? Some sort of a racing package on the car which in cluded a "track bag" and special decals.
