What would be the EXCELLENT out the door price for 06 Santa Fe AND 07 Santa Fe?
As far as interior goes, I would like power & heated seat, leather. It might sound stupid, but it's important to me because my health reasons ^^
Trying to do this alone this time...and it's hard so please help~~~~ again, I am from Western, NY
Thanks
I certainly agree with your choice of a Santa Fe. If you can afford it, the 07 models have significant benefits over the 06 and would likely have better resale value.
You can only get leather seats on the Limited and this trim level comes standard with power drivers seat and heated seats. You should look up the Invoice price for the configuration you want on Edmunds (see here ). With no options, the Limited is invoiced at $24,520. A great price would be any price at or below invoice. A fair price might go up to $500 above invoice. The dealership usually gets a rebate (holdback) of about $500 to $1000 back from the manufacturer. That's why he is able to sell below invoice and still make a profit. I feel a 5% profit is fair for a business such as this.
Is the plan through the dealer or Hyundai. If through a dealer, the policy could be voided if the dealer closed up. Be very careful of who backs the plan.

One Fleet Mnger offered me for 2k down, Limited Ed, with all the bells and whistles for about 25k. It was the Owner of the Dealerships car, but he hadn't driven more than 50 miles on the thing. An absolute steal! But didn't have my color  . He's still trying to track one down to ink the deal. Hope he does soon! I so want this car!
I realy, realy, realy, REALY, didn't want to like this car btw. Stoopid 100kmile warranty!
Stoopid luxury interior heated leather seats! Stoopid excellent crash test ratings! Stoopid indigo blue light interior console!!
I got an offer from dealor about 2007 3.3 Limited AWD as 27000.
This car has a sunloof option.
So total will be 27000+ tax.
He keeps calling me that this is the best price ever I will have.
What do you think about this price ?
Thanks
Have a nice day ~
I only want 3.3 AWD with only basic option around 24000 including everything. Is this price too low ?
Thanks

Be careful with the "the dealership owner only put 50-100 miles on it" line. Ask for a computer readout of the highest MPH driven (stored on the vehicle computer). The rig could have been given to a potential customer for an overnite test drive and got trashed. Always be a skeptic.

Usually the better (more comprehensive) plan is through the manufacturer, and more flexible as we both noted. I sold Toyotas some years back and the dealer's finance guy always pushed the dealer's plan as it was more profitable and most customers didn't know the difference. Good for you for having that detail straight.

Find the invoice cost and use the net to offer a deal or go during the worst weather possible...that's the day they are begging to write a sale up. If it were me, and I hope it will be this year, I will buy during a snow or ice storm. Just have all your homework done beforehand, options, colors etc. Here's my deal, take it or leave it, no bs. Another consumer trick is to find the board where the deals are written. If its showing only 1 or 2 and its 6 pm, it's time to deal.
I am not sure of the options you have for around 30K and if it includes taxes but that sounds high. Pay a hundred over invoice tops...it's your money and the dealer makes money at invoice..the salesman might get screwed but the dealer does ok.
So in all fairness to a salesman getting the minimum commission, tell him what you are there for, make the offer, and tell him you don't need the sales pitch; he can spend his time writing up a sales contract. But trying that tactic on a sunny day at the beginning of the month can be an act in futility.

The model I'm interested in is the LImited, 3.3ltr, sunroof, 5 seater. Slate Blue with beige interior. This stickers at 29k here in SoCal. From what I've found, invoices at 28k. Thats why I figured the 25k was a good deal. And at 6.8% financing, (which is 2% better than what my bank offered) I almost signed the line. I would like to think I could pull it lower. Out the door to be around 23k. But this may be a pipe dream. Im holding out to gather the downpayment and want to check other dealers round my county. This seems to get the numbers to change significantly.
For the most part, I've been giving them the boundries of what Im willing to work with as I walk in. Along with, "Im almost ready to buy a ......." I hope soon, I can get one to crack and give me what most americans consider, "a deal". Meanwhile, I'll keep posted on user experiences here on the forums.
Thanks again Joe.
The 07 is a much be better vehicle and, outside of standard "prior Hyundai owner" type incentives nothing has been offered so far. Best of luck in haggling.

I'm also ready to negotiate seriously for the same model and would like to benefit from your experience "if possible".
I live 600 km away from you in Quebec/Mtl and was curious to know if the dealer went down 2k from 36 or from 37 ? (prep included)if its not to much to ask ?
thanks in advance !
I got a quote on the Touring and Ultimate package for $29,103. I didn't really want the Ultimate package, just the Touring and Premium. However, Invoice for the Touring and Premium alone is about $28,500.
I looked up the Invoice on the package he quoted and the quotewas $1,550 BELOW Invoice and about $3,000 below the TMV price of the car. I'm thinking I should jump on this, but don't want to jump too soon. I also have a trade-in which isn't counted in the quote price. I'm thinking that with the trade in, I could get it for $29,000 OTD including TTL based on the quote that he provided.
Am I being realistic, or is this quote too good to be true?
Thanks
That and the inside's just pimp!
Good luck to ya...

The deal you mentioned sounded great. Did you get any replies back answering your question as to if that was a good deal or not. I am in the process of leasing a 2007
Santa Fe either SE or limited and wanted to see what others were experiencing, thanks.
I was curious if you received any feedback regarding lease iniformation. I too am looking to go down the leasing route for a 07 santa fe and require similar information. If I may ask you also, how do you approach the dealer since you are going to lease the vehicle. Do you still determine what the final cost of the car would be before telling them if you are going to lease or not? Also, I seem to recall there is some official lease form that an interested buyer can request from a dealership which shows the money factor, etc. (M document or soemthing like that). Any help on this would be great. Thanks in advance. If I find out any information I will let you know as well, thanks again.
MSRP 27640
TMV 27225
Invoice 25450
My Price 25670
Total cost w/ Tax/Tags/fees 26615
FYI...MD has a max 99 fee vs VA fee of max 299.
Only issue was that after having to pay an extra 90 for floor mats they did not have any in stock (didnt let me know until I doing final check out). They say they will fed ex them to me next week.
Tryed to trade in my falling apart almost didn't make it there car but the dealer offered my 1G less than car max. Reco hitting car max in advance for tradeins. Dealer would not come up to car max price and let me know car max would loose money on my trade (I happen to agree).
Was hoping to get the black leather interior but could not find it anywhere? Any one seen it? Couldnt wait needed new car plus got a baby on the way...
The salesman at the dealership called and said they have just received the one I really want--dark cherry Limited, tan leatber with the Touring and Premium Package--I know the third row seat is kind of stupid but it would be nice to have when we have our kids friends or relatives. Anyhow, he mentioned to my husband that it would be appox $30.000 which
is well over MSRP. We have not been in to negotiate yet and we will definitely walk if we don't get the price down. So my question is this. If we wait until December when car sales are slow does anyone think we can get a better price.
I like the Cherry color but it's not a deal breaker. They have a charcoal gray with same package that's very nice too so I'm assuming they will be getting more imventory. The other Hyundai dealership we went to in town was soooo horrific I can't imagine dealing with them. They were the classic "used car salesman" telling us that they had already sold 16 Santa Fe's that day! I guess he thought he had some real live ones he he!
Thanks for any input! This will be my 1st new car ever! I've had a 1993 Ford Explorer for 12 years and it's time to send it to junk yard heaven.
My dealer has offered this to me for $29,154 plus sales tax (out the door price). For this configuration MSRP is $30,860 and dealer invoice is $28,404. I figure he will make about 5% on the deal after his holdback, which is fair.
As for best time to buy, it's been mentioned before (and I agree), go at the end of the month when showroom traffic is slow due to bad weather. Go with your well thought out price in mind and offer a take it or leave it for that day.
Here is what I paid:
MSRP: 33,345
Price Paid: $30,800
Ext Warranty: $3,300 (Had no choice. Long story.)
TTL: $2,981
Total Price Paid before Trade: $37,081
Trade in and down payment: $3,100
Total OTD price financed: $33,981
Not bad considering that the original price I paid was only $150 above Invoice. I'm paying through the nose in interest, but that's my own fault.
Overall, a great car and I think I got a fairly good deal.
I'm a satisfied owner of a 2001 Santa Fe (134k miles without so much as a hiccup) and will be looking to add a 2007 to the stable. Has anyone here purchased an SE AWD with the Premium Package? If so, can you share your dealer experiences and what you ended up paiding? The MSRP is listed as $27,895 / Invoice listed as $25,290. BTW, I'm located in New Jersey.
Like I said, I think I got rooked, but I was already 3/4 of the way done and there wasn't really any backing out.
Live and learn I guess.
MSRP: $33,345 "Invoice"(per Edmunds): $30,653 Offer: $29,696
Is this a good deal?
TJ
That is a good price though for that package. Seems a little low though, as most dealers haven't gone that much under Invoice as far as the quotes that I got. I paid $30,800 for mine, before TTL and other junk.
Good luck with your negotiating.
MSRP $30,860, internet price $28,604
MsSRP $22,975, internet price $21,617
I was in and out in less than 2 hours, no strange fees, no attempt to sell any other dealer add ons.
One of the best car purchases I have ever made.
It is a little early after the buy to make a completely objective assessment but so far the Santa Fe is great, I really like everything about it and think Hyundai did a fantastic job. I researched the BMW SUV, Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot as other options, but really think that this is a great product and the price plus warranty push it way out front of the others.

Finance for $15,495
here a brake down of the rebates
buy for $23,295
dealer price reduction 2,900
hyundai customer rebate 3000
owner loyalty rebate 1000
active military rebate 500
recent grad 400
this would be my first new car so I've never had to bargin for price.
Is this a real deal? What's the catch?
Would I have to finance with the dealer?
Any comments would be helpful....Thanks
You should be able to finance with whomever you like. You will have to produce some form of proof that you currently own a hyundai to get the owner loyalty rebate and probably the same with the other rebates as well.
They then called me about 30 mins after I left. When I went in to bargain they flat out refused to move from the MSRP still but would go below cost on accessories. I had select about $2,200 CND in accessories which was given at $1,000 CND.
Also I have a trade in (a 2000 Civic SiR in perfect condition which they've offered $11,000, which is common I had it appraised by other dealers at that price).
Does this seem at all reasonable to not move on the MSRP? I didn't present the trade till long after we talked about the Santa Fe price. Also, for the asking to leave still surprizes me for a lack of customer service.
Here's the car's detail info

Stickers around 29.5k Taxes/License OTD price... $30k. Am I a fool to think I can get WAY better?!?
Also, unfortunately, my slate blue/beige interior trim wont be out for another 6-8weeks. Or so the fleet manager says to me (think he may be blowin' smoke). Also wanted a 4 day retainer to get the car from his 'buddy' at another dealership who trades wit no one else. All smells a bit fishy to me....
Thats a pretty clever gimmick, the Ebay printout, too. Never thought of that. Although, I cant imagine a lot of dealers biting on that, in that it's a private party sell. But who knows.
My dealer is currently looking for my colors accross the country, none to be found....yet. But Im looking to get OTD for around 28k. I would consider that a good deal.
Thanks, and good luck to you too.
FYI--the Hyundai on ebay is from a dealership.
They are selling them for $300 under dealer invoice or about $2,200 under MSRP.
After 2 months of website research and numerous phone calls...but, it was worth the effort.

20.4mpg first tankful...avg 22.6 on second tank..all mixed hwy/city.
local dealer wanted $500 over invoice, didn't have color combo I wanted anyway(this proved hard to find--plenty of gray or beige interiors, but very few black)
I was told by every dealer along the Gulf Coast that I could not order what I wanted from the Factory at this time.
Had to drive 100 miles(to Houston) to pick it up...was not looking for ultimate pkg., but very happy with it.
Grandkids love the DVD player & 3rd row seats.
Infinity sound system is awesome and the black interior is actually a very nice Charcoal color.
Nearly 600 miles on it and I love everything about the Santa Fe...hope I can say the same a year or two or three from now.
Thanks!
