I remember a problem like this from a few years ago. I have a 97 wrangler. no problems. but a friend had one too. had an aftermarket antenna on it. same design as the libs have now. he had a problem with water leaking into his jeep. after having the dealer check it out a couple of times... they replaced some type of grommet where it connects to the side of the body. hasn't had a leak since. acromell..you may want to have your dealer check this out for you.
hope this helps
My price was $21,045 before the 6% MI sales tax
:-( Grrr. Although, that price is based on Employee Pricing.... which I did find out more about. It's the MSRP minus dealer communication programs ($20), minus other dealer fees (aprox. $415 in my case), minus dealer holdback (3% of vehicle cost minus the destination fee of $585, which comes out to about $700). The sticker price on my vehicle was around 23,500 don't remember the exact price. Hope I didn't confuse any of you too much with that last paragraph :-) I'm confused myself still on Employee pricing.... all I know is it's saving me about $2000 and that's great!

Besides, without all of you, who would I ask?? Just being a blonde...;)
Who knows, maybe I'll get into the off-road thing eventually!
BTW, a skidplate is what protects parts underneath your car.

Enjoy!
Ordered Liberty Sport, Patriotic Blue w/taupe interior, CommandTrac, B package, Trailer tow group, side airbags, fog lights, deep tint glass, Infinity system, speed control, sunroof, and security. All for $300 over invoice. I was told it would take about 8 weeks and we figured on beginning to mid Sept for delivery. Was I surprised when the dealer said it would be built by 8/3. Looks like I'll have it for Labor Day.
An observation on the ABS situation: My first minivan was a DC Caravan. It was the first year they were offering ABS and the dealer told me then that it would take at least 6 weeks additional for the breaks, plus he remarked that the parts for the ABS were in short supply causing delays for repairs/replacements. And this was halfway into the car year already! I ordered it w/o ABS and didn't have any regrets. My next non-DC van had ABS, but they wouldn't have helped in the accidents I had. I've ordered the Liberty w/o ABS and hope this was the right decision. My only other concern is about rollovers and that's a wait-and-see thing. I need a vehicle now and can't wait for the reports. Let's hope that DC did their homework on this one.
any new owners experience anything like this yet?
First impressions are excellent hope it will hold up in the long run.

I bought my Liberty Sport with CD a week ago and want to add a portable MP3 player to the system. I'd prefer to avoid using an FM modulator for signal quality reasons. Some car manufacturers make a RCA audio adaptor that fits on the rear of their CD players. Does anyone know if the Liberty has one or is making one? Aftermarket companies?
I am currently closing on a home so I will have to wait a month or so before I head out to purchase but before I go I sure would like a clear understanding of what others are paying for their Liberties.
Last, I would like to hear some general reviews (engine performance, turning at speed, off road ability, driving in rain, etc.) from those who are already out crusing their Liberties.
Thanks. ;-)

You may do better to wait out the initial buying frenzy on this model. Some folks are getting discounts already, which bodes well for you.

I called today (8/1/01) to check on the order status and the DC rep told me it is currently "BX" (passed edit available for schedule). The rep said that this means that it should be scheduled for assembly "any time now".
I thought someone might find my order status helpful considering all the questions about restrictions on ABS. It's been nearly four weeks to this point, and our dealer told us that the ABS restriction was coming off on August 13th.
I'll check back on the status of our Liberty's schedule and build process periodically and post if anyone is interested.
Thanks to the person who posted the status listings from http://dodgeram.org/buying_info/Order_status.htm

Keep us posted as to your progress.
I will have to remember to ask that question next time I call for a status update.
Two questions:
At what stage was your VIN assigned?
How frequently do you call for updates?

Tom Petty was right - the Waiting is the hardest part :-)
