Cheers Pat.
Well, I guess we'll just have to get you on some kind of consultant basis!
;-)
any openings in the MailRoom? ;-)
-Dave
When I decided (back when I was young) that I wanted to work for Subaru, I was hired as a receptionist and got promoted through the ranks. It was a great way to learn about the company - one day one of our mailroom folks will be running the company!
I was kidding 'bout the MailRoom, but you get the idea
Starting from a position where one can absorb how everything in the company intertwines is the best way to learn. I believe CDS is a good place to start
Oh, my Dad [Senior VP., Trust Operations - retired] started his career in Singapore at the (then) Bank of Tokyo as a MailRoom clerk. Ran the North America Trust Operations before he was retired.
I kind of followed his footsteps, right up till my layoff, except my forte was Corporate/Trade Finance Operations.

I'd love it if some of you folks here worked at Subaru.
I really believe that starting where I did helped me a lot. Not only with understanding our product and business operations, but also how things can be impacted from one dept. to another. Subaru has been great in rewarding my efforts. I would start a job, learn more about it and let it evolve and they would adjust the job description to make sure I was compensated for the work I was doing. That really goes a long way to retaining employees and garnering their loyalty.
I've thought about working retail, but I could never see myself working for another manuf.
Patti
Cheers Pat.

Got no work tomorrow ;-D

When do you plan to be at the Philly Auto Show? I will probably go Tues, Wed or Thurs (2/3 - 2/5) around noon or 1 pm. Do any other crew members plan to attend?
P.S. You can post your reply in the Events thread if you don't wish to veer off topic (like we ever do that anyway ;-).

Any openings in your analytical labs?
Steve
Without getting into details about the situation, I just want to thank Patti for the remarkable job she does, and her level of dedication to the members (and friends of members) of this board. What a remarkable place the Edmunds Subaru Crew is!!!
Steve
Thanks!
Patti
No.. I'm not a salesman....
Does that help Elm?
I'm a consultant for Great Plains eEnterprise & MAS 90/200.
Oracle is your driven database with customization implementation programs on top of it...
Hmmm, it must be really expensive when upgrade time comes...
Oh well... Thanks.
Besides liking the benefits I have now, I also sort of like being able to remain indy from Subaru because it allows me to be more objective.
But dangle a loaner STi in front of me and I'd probably change my mind, hee hee.

Jsut about anyplace in the tri-state area is a short commute to you:-) Hope you never have to apply there.
Mark
I knew it wasn't dirty heads!

Yeah, it seems after a certain phone call was received (thanks Patti!)they determined it was a fuel injector; they also discovered a vacum leak- all of which has been repaired. I just have to get out there to pick it up- hopefully this evening. The rental I had stinks in this weather- even my wife said last night "I wish we were in our Subaru".
Mark
No Subie loaners really stinks though. I asked about it and they said it would be too expensive.
Patti, donate some Subes to Flemington. :-)

PS: drop me an e-mail about your computer if you still need me to look at it.
Actually it wasn't until Ed came back from vacation that the diagnosis went from dirty valves to the fuel injector. The only thing is that makes you wonder why the other folks missed it.
As for the lack of Subaru loaners- One of the service techs mentioned they are trying to get authorization from SOA to do loaners. Patti, maybe you can move things along?
Mike- If I had only known. I was home sick yesterday, so I never made it out there.

Rumour from LA Autoshow is Subaru is working on a minivan or larger passenger vehicle. Top secret or complete falsehood?
How likely will Subaru offer free maintenance on new vehicles like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Saab, etc, and when?
Sti - Any new colors coming? What will motivate Subaru to make the STi Impreza or Legacy wagon.
Whatever can be discussed would be appreciated. No comments interpreted as yes :- )
The 7 seater should be shown next year at NAIAS.
I doubt any of the other changes will happen soon.

Think for a minute, forget about all the other supposed freebies and concentrate just on oil changes, say at the bare minimum,10dollars in material costs, times say a 100,000 vehicles just for the sake of argument, there is a million dollars just in oil changes.
Multiply by 4 oil changes per year per car on average now it is 4 million dollars.
Still think that maintenance is free.
Cheers Pat.

Peace, man! Mark
