Try the Costco website look under member services (assuming your a member and they have a Costco in you area)and see if you have a Costco dealer in your vicinity. Each dealer can negotiate it's own prices with the local Costco but the no haggle price quotes are often $300-$500 over invoice... Pretty painless process to get a decent price.

Its automatic. What do think of the deal ezwinner?
  • dmarcus48dmarcus48 Member Posts: 139
It was DCH Academy Honda in Old Bridge, NJ. Do it through an email to the internet department, that's the only way you'll get the price. I think their website has an "instaquote", this will give you a starting point and then when you go there you can bargain with them. The internet quote will be 18,357, I got them to go down another $200 when I went there in person.

From NE Ohio: got several quotes from dealers willing to sell at Invoice.

Was quoted invoice (~$18,400s) for 2007 EX Sedan plus TTL.

I negotiated with local dealer for ~$200 above invoice because I liked working with the saleman and location. Wasn't worth my time on what will hopefully be a great value car.

    Kudos' to this post!

I also live in NE Ohio, what dealers did you contact? So far I have only visited Honda of Mentor (didn't talk numbers) and plan on getting a quote from Classic Honda.
  • 07civic07civic Member Posts: 2
Classic Honda and Park Honda quoted me invoice. Your best bet is to send email via Edmunds BEFORE you plan on going to the dealer. Make sure you have those quotes in your. Tell them you will give your business if they honor invoice.

"I am about to purchase a Honda Civic LX in the state of AZ, Phoenix area. I am new to this whole purchasing business and am wondering where I can find out how much I'll be charged for vehicle registration and title and other 'extra' fees that are generally not part of the negotiation price (i.e. invoice minus holdback and such)"

In lieu of a state "personal property tax" used by most other states, Arizona has a Value Added Tax added to car registration. (In other words, the only personal property arizona taxes is automobiles.) This means our car title will be hundreds higher than other states. Then in Phoenix you're also going to pay between 7.8% and 8.2% sales tax, which is not low by national standards. Then there are the unregulated "doc" fees, which seem to range in Phoenix honda dealerships from about $270 to $369. In short: this is not a great place to buy an auto.

The formula for calculating title and registration is found on the State mvd site, look at the title faq. Summary: $13.50 in title fees + 0.168 * msrp for new auto registration. (It's a bit less on used automobiles.) I believe believe the latter excludes destination charge. On my $14445 Fit I paid $246 for title, reg, license.

I could not negotiate away the doc fee since my model was in high demand, and I'd guess you'd have similar trouble with the civic. I paid msrp + doc with no add ons. Of course for an auto less in demand you could do the usual negotiations to get closer to invoice.

Thanks you Bill and jkandell. I will keep the figures in mind. I just got quoted 17400 for the LX civic including delivery charge but not including tax, and reg./title fees. the invoice price on edmuds is 16261 and delivery is 595 to this seems a bit over priced. What do you all think?
  • shivajishivaji Member Posts: 3
Can anybody tell me the exact invoice price for a 2007 civic LX (auto)? I found different numbers on edmunds, kbb, reply.com.
  • hadexhadex Member Posts: 1
I live near the ATL area. What dealer did you go through? You must be a better negotiator than me because haven't come close to that deal, more like +500.

    Thanks,

I just got my 2007 Civic sedan, LX for $16,999 plus tax and title. I thought that was a pretty good price. I got my official quote on paper the day before their last day of sales for 2006, then finished everything up the next day.

I bought it in the Pittsburgh area.

    I'm very pleased thus far.

$17328 (including destination charge and splash guards.) plus TTL

    Is this a good deal?
    -------------------------------------
    Invoice $16,261
    destination charge $595
    splash guards about $100
how much the dealer got paid $372
    -------------------------------------
This is how $17328 was calculated.

$372(for dealer's gain) is too much or just OK?

I just recieved an e-mail price quote from Honda of Mentor, they are offering $150 over invoice for an EX Auto and $745 over invoice for an EX Auto with Navi. Why would there be such a difference in over invoice prices between non-nav and nav trims? Are the navigation equipped models in higher demand? Thanks.

I leased this car back in Mar 03 for $200 a month, for 48 months, 15k a year-so 60k miles total. My lease is ending and they are calling me to explore my lease end options.

I will have paid $9,600 over the 4 year lease. I am at 62k miles (over) and the car was dinged a few times in the drivers and passenger car doors and it runs perfectly. They gave me a $1,500 wear and tear credit.

I am reviewing my paperwork to start negotiating a buy back. I put down $1,376.10, however, when looking over the paperwork-I can't find anywhere where it says I put money down. I'm confused. I have the credit card receipt and I remember being told this was my deposit. This is the first car I have purchased/leased.

The agreed upon value of the car was $15,814.75. The residual value of the car is $8,976.80. Is this taking into consideration the deposit that's not credited. Is this amount negotiable? If so, where should I start (If Honda will negotiate). Thanks,

    Sam

Use the internet. Email the internet sales manager at a minimum of 10 dealerships. Not all will give you a response. If they call and tell you to come in, tell them that you don't have the time to visit all the dealerships you are asking for quotes from and to give you their best offer. After you have three or four quotes, call them up and tell them the best quote and see if they can beat it - not match it. That's how I got mine for $200 below invoice. You just need to find the one dealer who has the flexibility to give the greatest discount. At this point, if you can wait, do this at the end of the month.

I'm sure I am not posting this question to the forum properly, but I couldn't find where to "add a new post." Anyway, I'm interested in an '07 Civic EX sedan with a manual transmission. Can anyone tell me what would be a decent price to pay? Anyway I could get that in the 17k range? What can I expect? It would really help me in my decision making! Thank you!!

Is it reasonable to expect invoice pricing on navigation equipped models, like I am getting for standard EX's?

I was wondering if anyone has bought a civic lx in south Florida and what you paid. Was told market value here is higher and that I can't really go bye what others have paid across the states. Been offered 17.800 with a rear lip spoiler.
  • ajbchoajbcho Member Posts: 44
Not sure if this helps. I paid ~18700 for an EX sedan AT including splash guards in the Midwest. Which I think is a great deal considering Edmund's TMV for Civics still state just a few hundred under sticker and dealers here have a hard time keeping them on the lots. This is my 4th Honda from them which I think helped me with the price. This includes all dealer fees, but does not include TTL. Which would not be helpful to you anyway since TTL varies state to state.
This price was the price I PAID, not what I think I paid, or what I've been quoted, but have not actually bought it price. I did not have a trade so there was no fudging of the numbers. Which I think alot of people posting their price forget to add into, ex.)they got $200 "under" invoice, but they happen to forget the dealer lowballed them on their trade or they got the "protection" package under cost so really I got the car under invoice etc..

From Riverside CA's Metro Honda, I just got a Civic EX/Auto/4 dr./ Dk. Blue for $18,559 including a 3rd master key. The key wasn't free, but I got a discount on it by negotiating for it as part of the deal. The valet was still included, of course. I also added splash guards for an extra $109, p&l. I did this by email with Priscilla Lopez of the dealer's internet department. Absolutely no hassle once I arrived. Paperwork was quick and painless.

Penske Honda of Ontario, CA, on the other hand, refused to honor their own price. I started there first because it was much closer to home. I started out at $18,200 based on info. derived from this forum. They were at $18,900. We got to $18,500-ish in the middle of the week, without the extra key. I came back on the weekend. Head honcho sales manager was there and vetoed earlier offer. Now $19,000 PLUS extra key. I wonder how Roger Penske feels about his staff driving a way a 3-time customer (would-be-4th). Next Honda I need? Back to Priscilla at Riverside.

Got mine for $17,000.00 last June from Maroone in Hollywood. Was back there today for the 1st free oil change and noticed the '07's have gone up in price. The only difference I could see on the LX was the addition of the AUX port in the front dash.
Good luck and let me know how it turns out. Still loving the car and I probaly could've done a bit better on price, but at the time...it just worked out that way. Life goes on and as we all well know..."some will get a better price, and some will get a worse price". Timing is everything!!!!

    Hi thechair,

Was 18559 the OTD price (OTD = TOTAL price post-TTL) or the pre-TTL price? So if it was pre-TTL then your OTD price was about 20K? I'm in the market for a 2007 EX sedan with Nav in So Cal - my absolute max OTD price is 21000.

Hearing of the deals lately it seems hard if not impossible to do, but some guy back in Nov 2006 in this forum claimed he got a 2007 EX with Nav in California for 20500 OTD using the "system" discussed in Fatwallet's Forum. I'm going to give it a shot during the end of this month.
  • jdmcmahjdmcmah Member Posts: 9
    Where is Fatwallet's Forum?

    Thanks
  • vliangvliang Member Posts: 9
    Here ya go:

    LINK

I'm skeptical, $20,500 OTD (including TTL) translates to a selling price of $18,654, which seems to be below the true invoice price (invoice - holdback - factory incentives).
  • jdmcmahjdmcmah Member Posts: 9
What is the best way you guys have found to buy a new car? I want a new hybrid and I've found a dealer who will sell to me at invoice + 1... but there are tons of fees. I don't want to pay more than 21 but cannot pay more than 22. Is that reasonable?
  • human12human12 Member Posts: 2
I just got a LX two days ago. I paid 19k for it which is way above MSRP so I do feel kinda cheated but this is what I got with it. Lojack and Extended warranty up to 80k included in the price.
  • vliangvliang Member Posts: 9
I think Civic Hybrids are hard to get for 22k OTD. However it all depends on where you live. If you live in CA like me, and if you get an offer for like a couple hundred above invoice, I would say you're getting a great deal. I have been checking out Hybrids as an alternative to my EX w/nav, but I don't think Dealers out here are willing to deal.

I checked Ebay Motors completed auctions, a dealer in Kansas (I think) was willing to part with a new 2007 Hybrid for 21000 flat (not including fees). I think 21000 - 200ish (not including fees) is probably the best you can get, which means 22k flat OTD could be possible in an area with lesser demand. Good Luck. Try the Civic Hybrid Prices Paid Forum to see what people say - I've checked it out and people were happy with MSRP - geez.
  • thechairthechair Member Posts: 3
My OTD price was $20,136. Purchase price, like I said, was $18,559. Dark blue Civic sedan, auto., 4dr., no nav. Plus 3rd master key.

My brother just purchased a 2007 Honda Civic EX automatic transmission 4 door sedan. No navigation system. The details are
    Color - Beige Metallic
    Base price - 18452 + 100(HDAG fee) = 18552
    Tax(minnesota 6.5%) - 1205.88
    License - 261
    Transfer & Doc fee - 83.75
Total out of door - 20102.63

The dealer charged 100 bucks on invoice for something called HDAG(some dealers association fee) they pay in minnesota. The dealer was not ready to let this go at any cost.
Also he was not ready to give this price on silver or galaxy gray colors. These 2 colors he was charging 400 bucks more, that is 18952.
is cixiv EX for 20102 a good or excellent or ok deal ?????
  • sukkalsukkal Member Posts: 1
Here in Alabama, I've had one pre-TTL quote for an automatic Coupe at $18,800, two at $18,900, and a few coming in higher or not at all (including one annoying dealer who won't give me a price but is willing to match or beat whatever I come up with).

Invoice is $18,452; TMV is $19,979. That's before tag, taxes & title, right?

I have a pretty good feeling about the service offering me one of those low prices, but they've gone about as low as they can go (OTD at $19,900 in 30 minutes -- less than TMV). I'm tempted to go with them and be done with it.

On the other hand, that's still over invoice, although it's where the market seems to rest. I suppose the question is how much time I want to put into getting someone to lower their price, huh?
  • rashidirashidi Member Posts: 18
Got a quote for EX 2dr $300 above invoice. Is that any good? I hear a lot about under invoice, but didn't seem capable of getting that pricing in the Wash DC area. Any recommended dealers/salesmen?

    Any feedback appreciated.

This is in Milwaukee. Sticker = $21,885, quote is for $20,885 and they are offering me a decent amount on my 2005 Honda Accord EX-L trade. Fiji Blue Pearl. I think I'm going to call them back and say throw in the mudflaps and I'll do it. Probably greedy to try and get either the compass mirror, fog lights or XM radio (all ~ $300 and any of which I'd love, esp. the XM), but should I try?

I can't wait. The '05 Accord is a fine, but very boring car. I'm never buying an automatic again!

Do we think the price is good? I searched and can't find anything lower, I think.

Thank you guys for the buying suggestions; after e-mailing all the dealers around I got a bunch of offers, from 19,500 down to 19,100. I counter-offered 18,600 to the two lowest ones and I got a positive answer. No fuss, no hassle. Obviously they tried to bait me with the $1,500 extended warranty for 7yr/100mi but I refused and bought 8yr/120mi from Sacucci instead as I plan to keep it until the wheels fall off... :)

In D.C. area, picked up a new Atomic Blue '07 EX Civic Coupe auto "on the road" cost $19339... freebies included wheel locks, mud guard, fender/door trim and pin stripe (none of which I cared for).

Two dealers were offering that price. Email me if you are in the market and want the contact info.

I was told there are more discounts on the 4dr civic than the 2dr, but did not get details. Other deals... my co-worker picked up a brand-new accord for $1600 under invoice last night. The next best quote was $1500 under invoice at another dealer.

    Hi,

I'm new to the forums and am in the market for an 07 Civic LX - 4dr and have so far gathered from what I've read from people's experience that the best approach would be to email 10-15 dealers within a radius and get competing quotes. Can someone point me to where I can find email contact info for sales/fleet managers for dealers in my vicinity? (Bay Area)

I received a quote on 2007 Civic Sedan LX - manual (won't drive an auto, just not the same). Quoted price of $16,413 + tax/tag/doc fee. Any idea what these extra would cost? I'm trying to figure out what kind of loan I'll need. Never bought a car before but I'm loving the new Civic.

I received a quote of $17,215 from a dealer in Oakland, CA. This includes the destination charge but without taxes and fees. Do you think it's a good price? I will be getting quotes from more dealers in the Bay Area but just wanted to get a sense of whether price is good. What would be a good price?
