Been working on a deal for a Grand Cherokee Limited lease this afternoon and evening. MSRP including destination is $47,375 (4x4, Lux pkg II, 20" wheels, Tech Pkg), negotiated sales price of $43,800, about $1,000 below invoice from what I can tell. Everything seems above board, even the dealer paper work fees were acceptable to me. But when we get to the MF, everything goes haywire. They first approached me and said 0 down, except I pay first month plus TT&L to drive off, which is fine, but their payment was a whopping $674! For 15k miles, 36 months, with the .00008 MF I've seen on here, and 54% residual, I'm calculating low $500's for the payment. The residual they're showing is $27,000 - which is more like 57%. When I asked about the MF, all they could say is that it was 6% interest! I asked if something weird had popped up on my credit score or something to get such a high rate, and they said it was perfect, but that's the only lease rate they know so I'm at a loss for what to do. He said he would put a call in to Chrysler Financial in the morning and get back to me - but of course tomorrow is March 1, so I'm afraid the rates will be different. Thoughts? I feel like I came in armed and ready, and everything was going great until we got to the stupid MF. I can't believe what a difference it makes in the payment!

Chrysler Capital lease program doesn't expire until March 3rd. I agree.. without any add-ons for tax, acquistion fee, etc.. I get the payment around $511/mo.

It's possible they aren't running the lease through Chrysler Capital.

Thank you in advance - in south Florida, looking for March lease #'s on a:

    • GC limited 4x2 @ 12k miles for 36 mo
    • GC limited 4x4 @ 12k miles for 36 mo
Also, have the #'s changed on the other models? If the trend continues, the GC limited seems to be a no brainer as the best GC lease value.

All of the numbers have changed slightly... The Limited and Laredo models remain the best.

    Hi kyfdx -
I am hoping March brings better lease arrangement in PA for GC Summit V8 36 mos/10K - can you provide? Also - any rebates/incentives now available?
    Thank you!

I don't follow the rebates/incentives. Use the Car Research tab at the top of the page, and you can follow the menu for the Edmunds information on that subject.

Thank you kyfdx! You are always very responsive and it is much appreciated - great to learn V8 Summit's MF improved from .00013 to 00009 from Feb to March - Not to mention residual improving 3 pts from 46 to 49%.(which strikes me as unusual considering model is aging) Is this typical coming into spring? I know it's anyone's guess but has Chrysler history shown it will improve even more as we move further into spring (ie Apr)? Thanks again kfydx!

I just leased a GC limited nav and 20 inch wheels in NJ on March 4, sticker price was $42,475. I owed $2800 on a current lease. After a few days of dealer nonsense the offer was $550 down $550 a month for a limited with nav and 18 inch wheels $39,080. I went to a second dealer where my final price was $479 down and $479 a month 36 months 10k miles for the $42,475 gc including my negative money on my current lease.

Sorry, my crystal ball is a little cloudy. Incentives and lease programs often change, depending on inventory and sales issues. Trying to discern what they might do from month to month is an exercise in frustration.

Is GAP included with Jeep leases? if so where is the cost included and how much should it be?
Also does the the above .00019 and 54% residual apply to overland 4x4 in calf?
First timer on this site and first time jeep purchase.

Thought I would share my experience as everyone has been helpful sharing theirs. I just recently leased a GC limited. Sticker was 42,450(+-100 or so). I owed 1200 on my previous lease. I ended up paying $531 down, and $525 per month, taxes included for 15k miles per year. I found a few quotes online, took the best one to my local dealership and told them if they could beat it I'll sign. I gave them my credit score up front and it was an extremely simple transaction. Could I have gotten a little better deal, maybe, but thought it was a decent deal. This was in upstate NY, middle of February.

GAP is included. It isn't an extra cost to the lessee.

First I want to thank everyone on this Forum, the time you have put in, to post questions and answers have made this an invaluable learning tool for myself and countless others. The ones like me, who have been reading and rereading these posts for the last 2+ months, lurking as some call it, might just decide to join and help others as you have done for us.
A special Thank you to kyfdx, you make it all possible for those of us who are interested in learning, and who value our lives, time, and ultimately are hard earned money. We want a great deal but most of us will be happy with a Fair Deal, something hard to come by without the knowledge found here.

I'm close to a deal on a Limited 4x4 with Sunroof, Nav, and 20" wheel pkg.
Based on what people have paid recently is $451 tax 7% and everything included, zero down, a fair deal today? I really mean today, as its my b-day and I really need to pull the trigger if I'm to do this before April.
Is it a great deal, I don't think so, but I can live with fair for me, but is this more fair for the dealer?
What is the best anyone has scored recently in the Tri State area, or beyond?

Additionally, if I dont do this today I wont be able to until April 2nd. When do the new #s come out? I believe the 5th or so, but what numbers would be used the first few days in April, and what rebates?
Is the end of the month really the end, or does it roll over the first few days? I remember seeing deals based on December 2013 numbers, and specials the first few days of January 2014.

If I do wait for April to do this I also can get the V8 Hemi, just throwing that out to muddy the waters a bit and for you to see where I am at. I feel I could get the Hemi with the same package to pretty close to what Im being offered the the Limited with the standard V6.
Any and all help is appreciated. I'm grateful for all the help everyone has provided in the past, and welcome all comments, no matter how critical or blunt. Thank you. :D

The current program ends on March 31st. There will new numbers on April 1st. The dealer will have them immediately, but it will be a few days before they trickle down to us.

What is the MSRP of your Jeep and what is the lease term in months/mileage?

I am in Maryland - I'm assuming residual on a limited is 58% on a 36 month/10k mile per year lease. MF should be 00019. On a $41,500 msrp and a selling price of $38000 i am getting a much lower payment than what dealers are quoting me. Everyone is in the $525/mo range with a total of $1000 down. Can u help me on what my payment should be?
  • mook12mook12 Member Posts: 61
Hey wheelingbogie I think it's a very good deal I am paying 495 month with the luxury 2 package which is roughly $55 more monthly just made first payment so it's definitely a fair deal maybe you can knock it down to 440 good luck

Picked up my GC Limited w/sunroof 2 weeks ago in NJ. Had a Ford Edge Limited on lease, so that worked towards one of the incentives, probably like $1K. Put down $2K, 36 months, 12k a year. $379 a month. They got me on back end when I return it, $595.00 (Disposition Fee) Did not notice that until 2 weeks after I brought the truck home. Very happy with deal.

    I show .00019 MF and 57% residual.

I get $410/mo. plus tax... But, that doesn't include acquisition fee, etc... Also, I think Maryland applies the sales tax to the full selling price of the vehicle. That's around $2300, which will add $65/mo. to the payment, all by itself.

    57% residual for 10K/yr.

Hi kyfdx, a couple dealers have quote the same residuals you posted above but are offering money factors of .0006 and .00061. At least one of them told me the bank was Chrysler Capital. Are they marking up the MF on me? I'm in Washington, DC. None of the dealers ran my credit yet.

Also, if you were going to lease a comparable mid-size SUV today, which would you choose? Lexus RX?

Hi kyfdx! Could you please share the MF and residual for a GJC Overland w/ the Advanced Technology Package for a 36 mo?

Also, based on old rates I saw in this section, I'm coming up w/ a pmt of around $521/mo using a MSRP of $46,185 and a sale price of $43,000. I'm in SoCal if you need tax rates. Using the new rates you have, does that sound about right to you?

    Thx so much in advance!

It's quite possible that the money factor is being marked up - the base money factor quoted is good for tiers 1 and 2, and the max it can be marked up is .00042 (hmm, that gives us .00061, doesn't it?)

Also, if you were going to lease a comparable mid-size SUV today, which would you choose? Lexus RX?

Wow, so many choices in that $40-50K price range. I suppose it would depend on how you use it. Jeeps are great for off-roading; Lexus', not so much.

Horses for courses, or something like that.

If I wanted a JGC, I sure wouldn't use the Lexus as a substitute... but, that's just my own bias against that model.. If I were going to a FWD-based soft-roader, I'd look at a Pilot or Highlander (and, yes.. I know the Highlander is really the same as an RX350). :p
