However, need your input on 2 things:
Whats big advantage of 17" over 16" wheels(ride, stability)?
Anyone check on aftermarket leather? (costs 1200-1400 thru dealer and they gave references on customers who swear it is as good or better than factory)
I guess all of you noticed Toy website changed option pkgs on SR5 "AGAIN" today.
Any body knows about ad charge. One dealer says
there is an ad charge of 760 for SR5 which is part of invoice price
He gave me an offer of 39200 final price plus freight charge + 249 proceesing fee + tag +title+tax
This is not custom order
The configuration is same as in my previous post
16" wheels, disc changer, pm ....
No dvd or 17" wheels or rload levelling suspension
This quote is less than 1250 from my previous order
Any comments
Suggest use Toyota website to find your pkg.(MSRP),then use old kbb or edmunds to estimate invoice.think all posters above are looking at 4X4, so my 4X2 est.wouldn't fit anyway. Good luck.
rate. Most of the Toyota Dealers in Canada have adopted a nice little price fixing scheme called "Access Toyota".
Now when you go to buy a Toyota vehicle in most dealerships in Canada every pays the same price. In most cases
this is very close to the MSRP. In the case of a 2003 Toyota Sequoia Ltd, MSRP is $62,155 CDN and the discounted
"Access Toyota" price is $61,969 CDN. Talk about a bargain!!!! Add in your freight and PDI of $1260 and another
$20 in environmental levies you have a final "discounted" price of $63,249 CDN. This is before you pay another
$10,750 in federal and BC provincial sales taxes. Final price to drive your new 2003 Toyota Sequoia off of the lot
here in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada is a paltry $73,999. When I decide to part with my 2002 Sequoia (that I
didn't pay anywhere near the MSRP for, I will again try to shop around to see if there are any Toyota Dealers left in
this fair land that are willing to deal. If not, I will be forced to buy something domestic; which would be a darn shame
since I have purchased nothing but Toyota vehicle in my adult life. This is my seventh and very possible my last one!
all of the taxes and fees, a new 2003 Sequoia Ltd is still lower than the MSRP in the US.
A similarly equipped model has an MSRP of $48,300 US and $74,000 CDN translates into
$46,600 US at a $0.63 exchange rate. I do not believe however, that US residents can import
new vehicles from Canada without duty, if at all. I think that it violates the "Auto pact".
So much for my 2 cents worth!
Quality, ride, comfort, etc. is your concern in comparing the MDX vs. Sequoia......Test drive(interstate and 2-lane) the Acura first then go to Toyota dlr soon after(same day)and drive the Seq. You will answer your own question!!
Good luck.
i still think sequoia doesn't turn as good as an MDX, but so as to all other sedans, MDX just isn't an alternative of a minivan or 7 passager SUV, the 2nd row seat is even smaller than a highlander, and the third row space is a joke, don't say it's for children, cos they are so closed to the back window and i feel it's dangerous for people who sits there. that alone has already brought MDX back to the class of all 5 passage SUV segment. the space of the sequoia is real great.
for interior, i feel they are almost the same, MDX isn't up to luxury section at all, but so as sequoia. but the smoother ride and the quietness of sequoia won MDX big time.
looks are very subjective, but i do find MDX's front is too flat. but i know a lot of people think MDX looks more sporty.
i don't think people agreed, but when you compare a honda to a toyota, (or even acura to toyota) the only thing that honda/acura can win over toyota is they are more sporty. but the refinement/attentions of detail are simply not there.

My trade in was $11,850 for a 99 Chrysler LHS with 50,000 K
When all is said and done, after all the taxes, finance charges, 7 year 75,000 mi platinum warranty, 5 year car care agreement, some stupid 5,000 cash back if the car gets stolen agreement that I needed to buy in order to bring my percentage for financing down to a decent amount, the car cost us, not excluding the trade in.
$50,000.00 and that is final cost after EVERYTHING.
I did manage to squabble for another $1,000 off and they are mailing me a check.
my brother has the Ody, while we have our sequoia, for Ody, you really have all the conveniences of an mini van, for sequoia, it's a tall vehicle that sometime you find it is hard to climb in and out, unload baby... but it definitely has it looks, and do you need the 4wd? i bet if you are switching from MDX to Oddy, you probably don't need that, am i right?
so if you are looking for a cooler mini van, you can get a 2wd sequoia to save even more bucks. although i said Oddy is more practical, i still like my sequoia over Oddy, cos it has 3 seats in the 2row, while Ody has only had two, it forces you to use the third row all the time. and mini van has too much rattles, it looks like a few chairs seating in the center of a big box. and i do like the toyota qualities over honda, the steering wheel is much better in the sequoia as well, for me, despite the gear stick is suck at sequoia comparing to Oddy's.
by the way, you may get more feed back if you post you mail in the sequoia forum (instead of what did you pay) or the mini van vs SUV

I needled and needled them until they said to come in and they will redo the whole order less all the extra junk. By the way, you can get the same Platinum warranty for 1/2 the price on the net. Go to Iowa Toyota or Warranty by net..Much cheaper..Now with tax and my added back up sensor and bug deflector, my total price is $42,166.00.
Now I am in the midst of shopping around for refinance rates if anyone knows of a good web site..The darn finance officer said My rate will go up considerably because I'm taking off all those unwanted items..
Sorry for the ramble, I'm just mad...
You did ok on price.... Don't we all think twice about this much money!!!!
"Roll Tide" from a Big Orange fan(at least till 4th Sat.in Oct.)
Really like the SUV but don't feel like I got the best deal that I could have. 03 Eddie Bauer Expedition was a close second in my book, and could have gotten a much better deal on this vehicle, but wife wanted Sequoia. I like Toyota's and the Sequoia is very nice vehicle, paying too much takes away from the excitement though.
Any suggestions please ?
thanks
Bill
I suggest that you gather as much information as you can and negotiate a price you think is fair. Talk to the fleet or sales manager and ask if they are willing to do a house sale on the vehicle you are interested in. Also, keep in mind that the vehicle market is driven by supply and demand....if the vehicle is very popular....you will end up paying for the asking price.
Good Luck!
KBB seems to have invoice pricing that matches up pretty well with what my dealer is putting out. If Edmunds doesn't have the pricing that the dealers probably have had for a month, so be it, lots of other places to get it. Lots of Toyota ads run on Edmunds, for whatever that is worth in determing a cause.
Price with Options $41,676.00
Doc.Fee $ 51.44
Tax.7% $ 2,920.92
State Sale Tax$ 15.00
Licence+Title $ 143.00
TOTAL =$44,806.36
look at kbb.com
Has anyone compared 3rd party warranties, are they comparable to Toyota's and should they be considered ? If you have, can you please post contact details here too.
for an complete sales print out which was $45,600.00 out the door to give to my Credit Union. On my way home I stopped by Continental Toyota and talked to the sales manager if they can give me a better deal than this. It was around
8P.M. and it seems like they were slow. He gave me a price of $44,806.36 out the door but have to wait for 2-3 weeks. I need to inquire about the extended warranty when the truck comes in and will post it if I get a good price.
During my search...I did talk to Sandy Springs Toyota but in the end went with Legacy Toyota (Chris Hobbs/Internet Sales) because the price was much better and they included for free "Tires for Life" and 1 Year Oil Change with my purchase.
Ross Cox at Sandy Springs, in the other hand, did kept his words: $800 over the invoice what I see. He told me the invoice price he got was not accurate as the final price for 03 didn't come out at that time (middle of Sept.). So, I got the truck ~$200 lower than the price he quoted (the price I aggreed to order).
Well, I was told "Tire for life" means nothing. You have to do paid tire-rotation at Legacy for every 5K miles. Then, they give you new tires ONLY when ALL 4 tires are at the SAME conditions. I believe it's almost impossible at the earth. So, it looks like you pay (rotation) for nothing. "Free oil change" is good. I got one from Legacy for my Camry. But, please keep in mind, your waiting time normally is longer as it's free. Maybe, you will be lucky again.
If you check kbb.com for 02 model, you will see the adiministration fee there. For 03 model, it shows N/A not 0 or INCL. As the whole process keeps no change and I assume this fee keep no change too. If you check World Toyota web site, you can confirm this.
By the way, how many speakers did you get w/ EJ? I only saw 6-speakers on my truck. As I know, it should be more (8 or 10). Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.
Also, he gave me the choice of waiting (2 weeks) for the vehicle that I want or he can find me one through the dealership exchange program. I opted for the latter and he was able to locate one for me within 4 hours. He had another sales person contact me for the deposit and completion of the buyers order form. I completed the form and faxed it back to them along with the deposit (credit card). I then scheduled a pick up date and time.
Showed up at the dealership a couple of days later as scheduled and was taken care of immediately by my contact person. Had all the option explained and took the vehicle for a test drive. Finally met Chris for the signing of the documents. He offered a lower rate financing but I declined since I had a check from my bank already. Total time in the dealership...about an hour and 15 minutes.
Based on the information provide for the "Tires for Life"...
-Valid for original owner of vehicle.
-Rotate and Balance tire every 5K miles
-Alignment Inspection every 12 months or 15k miles
-Tires will be replaced with like type tires when tire depth reaches 2/32" as per state safety standard.
Basically you are required to perform regular tire maintenance as you would even without the Tires for Life.
He actually tried to change the doc fees to their regular price but I reminded him that the doc fees he listed on his quote to me was $250.00...so he honored it.
I specifically told Chris....I will not pay for a ToyoGuard....and he did not charge me for it. In the end....I basically saved about $4,200 off of the MSRP.
As for the speakers....there are 10.
3 in each front door and 2 on each rear door. Kinda of deceiving....but that is how Toyota counted the speakers.
I have to give credit to "Fighting Chance", KBB and of course Edmunds for all the great information they have provided.
