And what is "enough time" - might depend on the age of the driver and age of the car. So many variables here.

It IS illegal to convert copyrighted music videos into downloads.
That said, nobody has been sued for this (yet).
Again, it is completely legal to watch any video you want on YouTube. Streaming from a legitimate site is permitted under copyright law. And if it doesn’t involve creating a video mp3 or download, you’re in the clear.
But, it IS illegal to create a personal download conversion of a copyrighted work under US copyright law. That includes an mp3, mp4, or any other download file type from your videos convert process.
In the future, it may become legal to download any video from YouTube, as long as it’s for personal use. But if a judge decides that, expect the music industry to go to war against YouTube and its converters.

Don't get me wrong, I personally could care less. But I just don't think it's wise to admit such things in a public forum, and it's most definitely not something I'm going to be admitting.

Any Samsung smart TV owners here? I can't figure out how to delete a channel that it has added. I get to the channel list. go to edit, and go to all channels. I don't get any options for deleting.

I did chat with Samsung 24/7 help. He/she couldn't tell me how to do it. Wanted to connect to my TV to do it themselves. I told them I deleted the internet access: the TV keeps adding TV channels over the internet and they're all junk. I want to delete all 20-30 of them.

I'm thinking I'll do factory reboot and will not add TV Plus which is what keeps adding the internet TV channels.

The Dayton City police had their one car with a policeman using a speed camera to photograph cars coming toward him on I75 downtown on Friday. Interesting because speeds have been increasing through that area with 3-6 lanes over the last weeks. Many of the speeders are from out-of-state.

I'm curious since this officer was apparently facing the traffic, how does he photograph the license plates on cars with one only on the rear? Or are they only giving bills to Ohio residents thinking they would have leverage if they're not paid by Ohio citizens. Many of the Michigan and Ontario cars have only 1 plate. They're the worst speeders.

I have been doing 65 in the 55 zone and been passed like I'm standing still by some of those from the Great North.

Sorry but the original post that started this discussion stated that there was an accident where a car was going about 75 in a 40 so it is a case that is being discussed.

The average adult dog has about a third more teeth than his human counterpart. Adult dogs have 42 permanent teeth compared to a measly 32 average human teeth (not counting any wisdom teeth. Those are "bonus.)

Don’t forget to have them check out the front axle and steering rack while you’re at it - ya never know what gremlins are lurking just waiting to aggravate the situation.  But rest assured, I’ll be here to provide you with any and all support you may need - just like before!

Just as a for instance, if you were to grab a video from YouTube and wanted to just have the audio, no video, for use in your car, here’s the best way to do it.

First, download ffmpeg, and put the executable, ffmpeg.exe, somewhere in your path. Then, from a dos prompt, go to the directory where you downloaded the *.mp4 file (the video from youtube).

>>> ffmpgeg.exe -i filename.mp4 -vn -acodec copy filename.m4a

Breaking this down:
1) -i filename.mp4
Specifies the input file. If it contains blanks or special characters, enclose the file name in double quotes.

2) -vn
Specifes to NOT copy any video streams (or pictures, for that matter)

3) -acodec copy
This tells ffmpeg what encoder to use, and we’re specifying to just “copy”, do not reencode.

4) filename.m4a

This should be the last thing on the command line, and tells ffmpeg where to place the results. You can name the file anything you like, but you do want the file extension to be “.m4a”.

Nearly all music videos on youtube are in mp4 format, and contain an audio stream that is known as aac. You want to keep only that audio stream, and you do not want to reencode it. Reencoding always loses quality. And “aac” is a newer, better method of encoding / compressing audio. Nearly all new cars, cell phones, whatever, will support aac audio contained in a m4a file.

You do not want an "MP3 copy". That involves reencoding, with a concurrent loss in audio quality. Yes, it's easier, no, it's not better.

Not a missprint...I heard it too. Limo went through a T-intersection, hit 2 people in the parking lot of a restaurant-killed them, then continued into a clump of trees....killed all 18 passengers. It was a Ford Expedition Limo on the report I heard....I wonder if limos are very safe?

that is a lot of people in a stretched SUV limo.

I have been at that intersection. My wife's family is not far from there, and we would come down that way if heading over to Ithaca or Cooperstown. Some serious driver's error to miss that stop, especially in the middle of the day.

Looks like Tropical Storm Michael is going to miss the Souteast Florida Coast.  But the forecast for us is heavy rains for the entire week with heavier than usual east and southeast winds during the rain bands due to the fact that we will be on the dirty side of the storm.  Could be a hurricane when it hits land.

Rain and a little wind is a lot better than a direct hit - that’s for sure!

On the bright side, I was just looking at the 10 day weather forecast for Houston. A week from today (the 14th) the forecast calls for a high of 74 and a low of 59, which sounds absolutely marvelous. Right now, the temperature is 89 with a heat index of 95. In other words, d___ hot and humid!

My “name” didn’t give me any more “say” or “persuasion” with my wife when I was married so I can fully understand why I have no say in where this storm goes.

Just looked at my phone. Thunderstorms this evening, turning to a steady rain, then snow predicted by mid-morning tomorrow.

A story. Long time neighbor had his 2005 Grand Prix stolen from his driveway a few weeks ago late at night. It had nearly 200K miles (those GM cars just don't last). But it had a worn hydraulic steering assist rack. It would lose assist on right turns if too much effort was applied. He was putting off replacing it. Just a maintenance item.

Next evening he went downtown Dayton on the bad side of the river and roamed around and saw his car at a stop light.

A few days later his car was noticed in the driveway of an empty house in the bad area of Dayton
by an observant neighbor who called the police. Police arrived and the 3 guys took off. Sure enough, on a right turn, they failed to make the turn and hit a tree. They had automatic weapons with them along with drugs.

Neighbor had been leaving his keys in the console area for 5 years. He works late night shift as supervisor. I guess that way he didn't have to find where he put his keys down in the house.

He did help take three young crooks off the bad streets of Dayton.
