Hard.
As for turbos, I’ve owned five and I have replaced exactly one-count ‘em-ONE turbo, and that was under warranty at 20k miles due to a batch of turbos with bad seals that were sent to Mazda.

The 1.5/CVT drivetrain works well in that car. Smooth, more than adequate power and excellent economy. Especially for someone interested in smooth cheap highway commuting, not taking it on the track or going canyon racing.

I would expect a 1.5 L turbo engine to be taxed at a higher percentage of its ability more of the time than a 2.0 L turbo engine would taxed in normal driving. Does that then lead to the conclusion that the 2.0 L T would not be as likely to "break"?
I'd see it as the early V8 vs V6 comparisons. The larger engine loafs along more easily accelerating with its higher torque due to displacement.
And how different is the gas mileage in normal stop/go driving between a 1.5 and 2.0?
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
I notice wheels a lot. I realized that I bought each of my cars because the wheels, covers or rims, really appealed to me. The 1977 Cutlass with color-matched Rally rims was one. The chrome rims on the 2003 leSabre Celebration model is another along with the particular rims on my Malibu. Same for the Cobalt and not so much for the Cruze; the rims were nice however.

Edit: make that 23/34. Lower numbers were for the touring or sport with the 19” wheels and more aggressive (I assume) 40 series tires. EXL has 50 series 17” wheels.

I agree about larger engines, like you say they don't work as hard, so tend to last longer...IMHO.

Understand I drove it maybe 3-4 blocks, so not a good indication of how it would do on interstates or rural roads. But, it seemed higher quality than the typical family sedans in the general price range.
Not sure about the 1.5L. But, given a choice of more HP, vs better fuel economy, I always opt for the power bump.

If I decided on an accord for my next car, likely would end up with that EXL 2.0 also. So far, pleased with that drivetrain in the RDX. Quick and shifts fine. Who knows about mileage at this point since only up to about 175 miles in just over a month. Haven’t even gotten gas yet.
And if I wanted a sedan would probably get the Honda over another TLX if it was noticeably cheaper. Especially now that they will have same drivetrain.

So, they were sales people that were mostly working from their sales training "script" all the time.
Having dealt with them on the Kia, and at the Honda Colerain Ave store in Cincinnati relatively recently, they seem to be hiring better quality people into their sales staff.
That said, I do like the Performance Group for Honda purchases (Performance Honda in Fairfield, OH). No games....pretty straight forward.

There’s some intuitive logic in thinking that a turboed engine Is more highly stressed than a larger NA motor of similar power. But have there been any tests done to see if one will outlast the other in normal driving?
I remember reading back in the 80s and 90s about turbos failing early or engines blowing heads because they couldn’t handle the extra pressure. In fact that was one way I judged how robust an engine was. If it could be successfully turboed (like the GM 3800) it would likely last a long time non turboed.

During that test drive yesterday had me curious as how the 2.0 would feel.
Wife is telling me to "BUY SOMETHING" , but I've gone this far. I'll maintain the current.course.
My friend has a Veloster. Nice. But a little small for my taste.
LOL on Oxmorons "
If the 1.5 is powerful enough for you, the 2.0 might not be worth the extra money. Your call.

Starting to feel a little better - that Z-Pack (Zithromycin) must be working. Chest congestion is significantly reduced. No fever as of yet - so I hope this progress continues.

And modern turbos are designed in from the beginning. Not like the old days where they just slapped one on later! They are cooled, electronically controlled, all that good stuff. Still, can argue that less complicated is better, but that goes for fancy VVT systems, direct injection, etc. not just turbos.

The sales manager at Honda World just sent me OTD numbers on the silver EX I test drove and an LX.
EX....$27,815
LX....$25,024
I assumed he'd offer a breakdown.
All of the salesman I've encountered have been greenpeas. The guy at Honda World yesterday kept wanting to show me certified or used Accords I had no interest in. Another I thought mute, as he said almost nothing.. Poor guy. Probably has lost his job by now. My Acura sales lady has about 6 years of experience, but not exactly a smooth talker..To their credit, none high pressure...or even moderate. Some couldn't care less. But these are different times.
