So I've been researching the M Performance Power and Sound Kit; it turns out that BMW provides a new torque converter in addition to the low restriction exhaust and the ECU remap- so that increases the installation costs a bit. The new exhaust doesn't drone and is only significantly louder than stock above 4500 rpm. For me the fact that the system was engineered by BMW makes it worth the added expense. I'd definitely want it installed on the 540i xDrive.

Is that a factory option or an aftermarket installation? Ford has a number of performance upgrades that you can buy for the Mustang directly from them for aftermarket installation. I’m sure that has something to do with EPA regulations. Since they’re from Ford they maintain all warranties.

It’s a BMW accessory and will not affect the warranty- or emissions or fuel economy. It’s essentially similar to the Ford Racing power kits. The emphasis is on peak torque and would make the 540i xDrive a tick quicker than my 2 Series.

I think FWD in anything bigger than a Civic is pointless. The raison d'être for FWD is to maximize passenger and cargo space in a small car. It’s ridiculous to have to endure the shortcomings of FWD in a car like the Accord- which is the size of a Stinger or 5 Series.

My mom is on SS and got her deposit today.
She filed her 2019 back in March with DD information.

You would figure that since the IRS had her SS direct deposit info to begin with she shouldn’t have to repeat it on her tax return but this is the bureaucracy after all.

The IRS won’t have any direct deposit from me since I haven’t gotten a federal refund in this century.

Maybe I should go to that portal and give it to them.

Sounds like a good deal! Color combo? What's the breakdown of the OTD? I mean, what's the price that's being offered before tax, title, doc, and license fees? Is this Honda World or Wyler? 0.9 sounds good too.

Wyler. Silver exterior with black interior, like the EX 1.5 I drove yesterday. No breakdown. I was getting ready to walk, g.m says he'll knock a grand off. I say I'll think about it. I liked the extra power in the 2.0 but there was just something about the car I didn't care for. Wasn't the push button start. Felt like a "used" car. Only had 4,000 miles on it.

The 2.0T you are looking at is a 2019? There should be a SIGNIFICANT discount as that car has been sitting there for a LONG time.

MSRP on the Accord Sport 2.0T is 31,200 plus whatever dealer accessories they throw on.

I'd double check the feature list of the Sport 2.0T to make sure it does what you need - it is very well equipped (heated seats, LED headlights, safety nannies etc) but is missing the upgraded audio, memory seats, and leather of the EX-L.

Assuming $28,050 OTD includes tax at ~7% and another $500 in doc and registration fees, that puts sale price at $25,700 plus TTL. That's an 18% discount for a 2019 with 4000 miles.

It isn't bad. I'd be shooting for 20%+ personally, but if it has never been titled before and is therefore new (e.g. the warranty will go 3 years and 36k from the inception mileage on the ODO) then could be a good deal.

Yes. I had a small refund directly deposited on April 8; only about a week or 10 days after submitting it. I don't remember exactly, but it wasn't long.

I don't know what you have to do to get it deposited if you didn't get a refund for quite some time, other than waiting for the paper checks to go out.

A 2019 with 4000 miles. Hmmm. Well, that explains the price. Was it used as a test drive car or something?

If you could make a deal remotely on a car at one of the other Wyler Honda dealers—the one in Colerain or the one in Florence—would they be willing to deliver the car to Louisville? Or would you be willing to drive there?

As a Canadian, could you fill me in on those US stimulus payments? Are they universal or do they have some sort of income test/limit?

Up here the feds rolled out a $2000/mo. support program for those whose income was affected by the shutdown, which I think is supposed to run for at least 3 or 4 months, but you have to have had a loss of income. As someone who is on a pension I don't qualify. I theoretically could if I wanted to be like a certain poster here and not be totally truthful with the feds, but I don't feel great about doing that.

IIRC, $1200 per adult (not claimed as a dependent), $500 per kid, something for stepkids too I think. Full payout for singles making 75K or less/couples 150K or less, deduct $50 for every $100 above 75K.

There are earnings limits. AGI of $75,000 or below to get full amount, slides to zero at $100k. For an individual.

It is actually a 2020 tax credit, that they are giving an advance on based on last taxes filed. So won’t know until next spring exactly what you get (might get some more, or might owe some back).

$1200 for everyone over 17 (I think) who has a SS number and makes $75k or less. No job or income required. You can’t be a dependent on someone else’s tax return.

My wife looked up the payoff on our 2018 CR-V, and it's down to $2399. And so if we pay it off with our tax rebate, which we're planning to do, we'll have a whole buck left over. But it'll be nice to own that station wagon (as we think of it) free and clear.

Called Lowes because salesman said they'd call today about deliver time tomorrow. Good thing we're not working anymore.

The company delivering washer/dryer for Lowes calls at 7 to 8 am on day of delivery to tell you whether they are delivering in the morning or in the afternoon. That means someone would have to take off the entire day because most couldn't plan to just take morning or afternoon without notice the day before.

Of course, if you're working from home...

My oldest got her check yesterday. So far, nothing here yet even tough I am signed up for my s s check, no direct deposit as of yet. But again, our 2019 return ain't done yet, we're always her last, and any refund is pulled forward to pay for her quarterlies. But still, you'd think at least my $1200 would've showed up!
A guy I work with, they got their $2400 yesterday but his 2019 taxes have been done for awhile. But, my oldest just had mom do her 2019 taxes this past weekend and they got electronically filed Sunday. So much for that theory.

@jipster : Quite possibly this isn't something you'd consider, but what about an Accord EX-L hybrid? Gets c. 45 mpg in the city or on the highway. And it's actually a little faster than the 1.5 turbo. And it happens to be available at Honda Universe in my favorite color combo—red and ivory. For the last generation of Accord hybrid the battery was in the trunk, and so cut down on your trunk space. But for this generation it's in the floor, and so you don't lose any cargo space, and can even still fold your rear seats down.

Even though my truck is 2 years old, I discovered a new feature today.
It has interior microphones tied to the alarm system(I knew this).
Truck was locked but windows down.
I guess I got too close because the alarm started honking the horn.
Didn't know why it did that at first, but remembered when I grabbed the keys to turn it off.

Well @jipster : what way are you leaning at this point?

Leaning towards the medicine cabinet... I need an aspirin. :'(

I like the idea of buying new from Honda World, because if I go with the 1.5 engine they have the lifetime powertrain warranty. I did like that silver certified EX I test drove yesterday, so may throw them an offer.
I did see a hybrid out at Wyler. The EX -L looks to be priced a little too high for me.

Can't see it changing anything, but may take another look at the Mazda 6 tomorrow, since I'll be in the "Oxmoron" area.:-)

If you like the silver EX Accord it sounds like it's worth giving them an offer.

Honda U. does has a Hybrid EX in pearl and ivory for $28k flat....

Well, it is an advance on a 2020 refundable tax credit. This is from an article in Money magazine. The one difference is that they won't penalize you (so if say you make a lot more money in 2020, you won't have to give any back). They will, however, calculate the actual amount you get based on 2020 income, though will only give you more if you calculate higher. Could work out well for people that retired this year, and of course, lost jobs.

“The rebate is a refundable tax credit applied on your 2020 tax return, but advanced to you based on your 2018 or 2019 income,” Garrett Watson, a senior policy analyst at the Tax Foundation, explains to MONEY. “Any adjustment to your rebate based on your 2020 income will only occur in the taxpayer’s favor.”

Think about it this way: The amount you get in your stimulus check in the coming months is what you get as determined by your 2019 or 2018 tax return. And next year, after taxes for 2020 are filed, the Internal Revenue Service will reassess to see if anyone qualifies to get more money based on their 2020 returns, but it won’t reassess to see if anyone no longer qualifies or should get less money.

G.M just offered $28,050 O.T.D for rhat 2019 Sport 2.0. Took a grand off internet price. 0.9% financing.

That seems like a strong price, if that includes tax, fees and registration costs.

My experience is that advertised pricing never includes those items.

Stick, thought Money Magazine went out of business? I had a subscription but they ended it early saying they were closing up shop and gave me Sports illustrated to finish it out. Was a big fan of Money Magazine to!

One thing about modern turbo engines is that they make a lot of torque at low rpms, so they are not as stressed as the older ones.
