Here in CT, the state police vehicles are unmarked and pretty generic looking.
Saw this while picking up a floor mat I ordered.

There are a fair number of those here in CO, along with plain jane Tahoes.

Lol. On the Panther forums; ex CVPI’s are known as Vomit Comets.

It’s very common to swap civilian interiors into them.

Ford also made SAP (street appearance package) cars that looked very close to base model civilian cars. I’m sure they still do the same.

Easy.....sell them off to someone who will remove the police insignias and equipment (bumpers etc), paint them to look normal, and then sell them off.
The idea is to make them so they can't be bought and used by jokers who like to play policemen - and there have been a few.

No... that's what they were already doing. About the only thing visually different between a surplus cruiser at auction and a civilian white Taurus was the Ford-supplied "Police Interceptor" badge on the trunk. All the graphics, radios, rear-seat barriers, light bars, etc were removed before the auction.
I thought he bought it as a police car and restored it....but, you are right, he actually bought police decals.
So, the law should be....if you buy a former police car or if your car resembles a police car it should have a sign on the roof that says "FAKE POLICE CAR"
Or just strap a large speaker on the roof so you can advertise a rhythm and blues band.

Tahoes are pretty easy to see as they must be 2 to 3” lower than a civilian Tahoe. I actually think they look great like that.

I’d get a pursuit Mustang or Camaro since I’m now working in law enforcement, but now the only police vehicles are the Charger and some trucks and SUVs.

Local PD uses Explorers, but the Sheriff's department (who represent my neighborhood) has the Tahoes. There were a couple of them on my street during the storm on Sunday. Not sure what they were doing there, but one had to pull the other out of a small snowbank.

The new 2021 Police Tahoe is pretty robust; 16” Brembos, lowered suspension, 20” tires and plenty of power.

    Curious.

One bank I have a checking account at requires you to change your password periodically. I think it's every month, but I have really not tracked it. I didn't write it down one time recently and I forgot it.

I tried the "forgot password" thingy a few times. but didn't get an email to reset it. I finally called a guy I know who works there and he said someone would call me and get it straightened out. Nobody called.

I let him know after a week or so and someone called and we got it fixed.

Anyway - Does anyone else bank at a place that requires you to change your password periodically?

Every time I see one of those de-commissioned police interceptor Crown Vics on the road, they’re never repainted. They all have large scars where the decals were removed. And, they all look beat to hell...usually driven by someone who looks like they just crawled out of a cave.

But, I’m sure that’s not true of every interceptor out there. So, if you, or someone you know has one, and it’s in good condition, and the new owner has had a shower in the last couple of weeks, and can form complete sentences during normal conversation, my apologies.

No doubt those cars and other government auction vehicles are attractive to people of limited income. My BIL bought them because he wanted cheap muscle and as kids we didn’t have the money for more.

These days they may be the only alternative for A to B transportation. Cheap cars get scooped up real fast.

You should do like they do it in Florida and pay a bird dog to funeral parlors and nursing homes. They’re the first to learn of low mileage, easy driven cars. Of course you won’t get too many leads on Corvettes or AMGs but you probably don’t have to worry about track use.

At work my main sign in has to be changed every thirty days and one program that I use that has a separate password that has to be changed the first of every month. Now since every month isn't 30 days long they rarely have to be changed at the same time.

Took my neighbor’s elderly neighbor for his 2nd COVID SHOT (Pfizer) yesterday. True to their word, the nice medical folks (assuming they’re all nurses) gave me mine, too.

1st one was in the right arm. 2nd one was in the left arm. Arm is sore this a.m. But, that’s about it. Maybe some head congestion, but perhaps it’s from Spring allergies, too.

Gotta say, once you find a place who will schedule you for the COVID vaccine, it’s pretty smooth sailing. I think we were in and out in 20 minutes....and that was for both of us.

As the nurse said to me....”you’re free to move about the cabin”. Cute!

Here in the bustling Metropolis that is Halifax, police cruisers have been Ford products for a very long time. In the '90s they moved to Panther Crown Vics after the Orca Caprices went out of production, and more recently transitioned out of them into Tauruses and now mostly Explorers. They apparently did an evaluation of the Dodge Charger a few years ago and decided to not go with them for whatever reason.

To show how the city here can spend money like nobody's business, the Transit department has a fleet of "Supervisor" vehicles. These are typically found at transit terminals idling, waiting to shuttle drivers coming off-shift back to the main facility, or to deal with the occasional incident or breakdown in the field. For years they were small utility vehicles - Jeep Patriots, Dodge Calibers, gen-1 Equinoxes. The last go-round they replaced them all with police interceptor Tauruses at close to $40K each. Absolutely zero rationale other than that they could. Snagging one of those at auction after it is retired could be a very good deal once you blow the carbon out of the engine.

GG, my kid's a pharmacist and she told me to take Tylenol to help with the sore arm and it definitely helped me, the wife did it to. Give it a shot and see. Since I use my right arm to hold my cane, I objected when they wanted to give me the second one in my right arm. the professional watching it all said it was o k to give it again in my left arm and that was that. I always want my right hand free to hold my cane as it helps with my balance issue.
My doc has been after me for some time now to get the shingles vaccination and think I'm ready to do it. I saw my grandpa and a cousin suffer needlessly when they got the shingles and really, with my ongoing spinal issues, just not willing to add that to the mix if there's an easy way to avoid getting it. My regular doc is all in favor and has been pushing me in that general direction for some time now. I've been resistant up until now.

So guessing it cold go either way with the "Shingix" injections, and there are two of them I gather. Still, am seriously considering doing it around May 1st. The alternative scares me to be honest and with my luck, I'll probably get it sooner or later!

Did some "re-arranging" in my closet and my office today. Man...I've got too much "stuff", no way around it, I've got too much stuff!! Found some magazines from a year ago next week I put away to read once I got some free time! Well, had a nice pile after like 10 minutes, threw away 80% of them and have a small "pile" to read after dinner tonight...and tomorrow night...and well, think y'all get the drift. Next, tried to tackle my desk. I had stuff in a pile on the right hand side, stuff on stuff. Took me about a 1/2 hour and eventually, had a almost filled garbage bag. Luckily I did look as there was a bill for my hospital surgery back in May of 2018 and I'm down to around $500 in payments. Just for a 14 day hospital stay, it came out to just over $148K and I owed them around $4270 which insurance did not cover! Since I was just 64 at the time, I was just a year out from Medicare as it would've cost me nothing if I had already been 65. The hospital refused to negotiate with me and was told that since I wasn't "poor" in their terms, the 15% not covered by my insurance would be my responsibility. Crazy really but what was I supposed to do? Figured, hell, I'm not writing out a check for that whole amount, so asked what's the lowest I can pay monthly? He came back with $125 and that's what I've been sending each month. And finally, we're close to the end! And there were still doctors bills I had to deal with!
A real shame they wouldn't negotiate any part of it because really, the charges for 14 days were a bit outrageous. But, we're almost at the end and realized, either one can't get sick in America without having decent insurance and some extra $ to pay ones part if under 65. And that if one's poor, no problem because our taxes will take care of their bill. From that moment on, have tried to stay as healthy as I can!

Wife had a check in with her doc recently - got a tetanus and a shingles vaccination while she was there.

I need to set up a similar appointment.

X2 on Shingrex. Take vitamin C and other vitamins for a few days before the first and then the second shot. Second shot was like a light flu. I went to bed for a while. I was one of the first getting the new double shot.

My doctor had worked in an elderly care retirement home run by a church. She told me stories of the elderly getting shingles and suffering along with stories about how any shingles near the eyes is a major threat to vision. I was scared straight by her to get the first single shot years ago and then to get the newer higher coverage double shot later.

    I miss her.

My son had a really sore arm muscle for a few days after second shot of Pfizer. He's under 30.
I had almost no noticeable problem with second shot.
My wife swears there are stories that women are having worse reactions than men to the shots.

People who get shingles wish they had had the vaccine....it is very painful and could have long lasting affects.
@imidazol97 your wife is correct, women are having worse reactions, though the reactions are not that bad, still better than getting covid.

My dad had a case of the shingles when he was 70. Affected him for the rest of his life, as he had one right by his left eye. He tried both traditional and non-traditional approaches to relieving the pain - nothing worked. Was really debilitating, and caused him to give up two of his passions - wood working and golf.

Was really tough to see him suffer so much.
