Those light fixtures with the framing around the bulbs are huge with flippers here - one of the "signs" along with grey LVP, subway tile, sliding track closet/bathroom doors, 50 shades of grey paint, a room with shiplap walls, etc.
I’m supposed to relax at the shore… but wife wanted a new chandelier to replace the crappy one here. So, ran to Lowes and grabbed one. Electrical box was pretty off center, so needed a little swag to place it in the middle of the table. No silver hook in stock, so I’ll have to swap it out.
That’s cheating, you should have moved the box.
FWIW, that light looks a little like the light we installed in flip #3 above where the kitchen table will be.

I personally don’t like those fixtures but the feedback we got from 4 of the prospective buyers of flip #3, through different realtors, was they liked the light fixtures we installed.
As for the gray paint, we have used the same gray paint in all 3 of our flips so far and plan to use it in flip #4 too because we have gotten countless comments from buyers and neighbors about how much they like it. No sense in arguing with success.

Yeah.. wasn’t moving the box.
It could be the same light. Came from Lowes.
The light we installed was pretty close but not the same one that you have. We have been dealing with Home Depot for most items including lights but have gone to Lowe’s for some stuff.
FWIW, my Son likes how Home Depot handles pro accounts better than the way Lowe’s does it.

Funny that you mentioned green shag carpeting.
When the remnants of a hurricane hit the Burgh area in the mid 70’s I got water run off from my neighbors rear down spout that was directed towards the grass area between our houses. The water poured in though a basement window well and ruined the original carpet we had in the game room. We replaced it with a lime green shag carpet. It was pretty nice in it’s day but just the thought of that stuff today makes me wonder what were we thinking?

Everything's on the way out -- it's just a matter of time. Then in some number of decades it'll be back. The objective is to sell (let's say stuff) to people who want to have the latest and greatest. Seems to work every time it's tried, at least for a certain cohort.

The other day I saw something online about 2022's "paint colors of the year" for home interiors. You're correct, there wasn't a gray in the bunch. But I think the paint companies are scrambling to try to define trends because some of the shades they listed were pretty awful. Like a bright red and a purple. I wouldn't want a room painted those shades. Then there was a beige (how shocking) and a couple of off-whites. Go back to the drawing board, gang.

This is part of a post from @xwesx on the Subaru board. Back when he purchased a 2010 Forrester. He bought the 7 year/100k mile, no deductible extended warranty.
"I bought our warranty from Mastra Subaru in Massachusetts, as they (at least at that time) would sell the top tier warranty for "cost", which was less than half of the price at my local dealership (where they only sell at full retail). IIRC, retail was about $3,400 at that time, while cost was $1,500."
Wow. Didn't know there was such a price difference between retail and cost. But, getting the warranty close to cost would make buying it tempting.
There is a similar difference on Honda warranties . A few dealers in the New England area sell them for about half what the local dealers want for them. They sell at cost but get huge quarterly bonuses from Honda.
I've been suffering with spinal issues since my on the job injury in April of 2005 and have used a cane to walk ever since. It did a number on my balance and I usually feel like I'm going to fall. Luckily we saved my mother-in-laws walker as I needed it back when I had gall bladder surgery in 2018. Recently, have been dealing with BPPV, a kind of vertigo, and again, have been using the walker to get around the house. This last vertigo outbreak even had me falling in the hallway where I banged myself up pretty good. I thank G-d for my cane & walker as it gives me the mobility I need, just take things a bit slower. Luckily my boss has been very understanding of my limitations and they've never been an issue. No one told me that getting older was going to be easy, but rather it be this way then the alternative!

I miss the thicker carpeting that was popular for a time. Now most carpet is paper thin and without any plushness. I get tickled when I see a fastened seatbelt that someone sits on to avoid having to wear it or be subject to the seat belt buzzer or ignition lock out.

I think I told this tale awhile back but since you brought it up:
When I bought my ‘09 Genny I decided to cover the original carpeted floor mats (front and rear) with good quality black bath towels that I duct taped to the back of them. Then when they got dirty, especially with salt in the Winter, I’d just yank them off and throw them in the washer rather than having to scrum the mats clean.
Fast forward to when we went out for lunch one day and the guys wanted me to drive so they could check out my new Genny. No sooner than the guy that got his butt into the front passenger seat he said, “Wow, this car even has nice car mats”. I said, “look again those are towels over the car mats”. Now everyone is looking at my handy work and they all liked what I did and a couple guys said they were going to do that too because they hated scrubbing their car mats. I’ve gotten more than a few comments over the years about that even the techs at the dealer when they’ve done work on my Genny’s. Yes, I did the same thing when I bought my ‘15 Genny.
If any of you guys decide to do this just be sure to give me credit when you get glowing comments from your passengers.

Today I had 2 experiences, that only seem to happen, in Florida; 1) I am in the left turn lane and there is one car in front of me...a Cadillac XTS (small SUV.) The two overhead thru lights are red, but the left turn arrow light is blinking amber and this guy isn't moving. I seldom use the horn but I blasted it for 15 seconds before he started to move....once it went red.....I went through anyway.
2) I am on a 2 lane highway going North, I have to get into the left turning lane to go west. There are 2 lanes turning left, normally I would go into the one on the right side. There are about 10 cars that are going to go straight through, once the light turns green. There is a huge pickup truck in the line, he is about number 8, and he has his front left wheels a bit into my lane. I think about the worst thing he could do and I decide to use the left left-turn lane today instead of the right one, and leave him some space. His light turns green, and what does he do? I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it. The first vehicle in his line is a big transport truck......he cuts into the left turn lane, speeds past the 7 other cars in front of him, gets in front of the transport truck, and goes to the right and back into his lane but in front of everyone and still gaining speed.

OK let's look at this. The retail is $3,400 and the cost is $1,500 that's a 126.7% markup. Not to mention that the warranty company would be getting $1,500 to pay their expenses before they put what's left in the bank to pay out any future warranty claims. Typically warranty companies pay out on average 20% or less than what they take in anything more would result in the company losing money. This means that for that $3,400 warranty the seller takes in $2,900, the warranty company pays out $300 and $1,200 goes to operating costs, overhead and profit.
I would walk on the extended warranty.

OK I had some minor oral surgery today, after everything was done and I was getting the information from the assistant she mentioned that they were giving me a prescription for ibuprofen. Well I just said I have some at home I can use them, she replied those are only 200 mg and the prescription strength was 600 mg. I replied, if that's the case I can just take three. That left her speechless.

How many miles on the Genny? I get the impression it is overdue for a wax job. Old man's gray still deserves some love.
To be honest I didn’t need to buy that car but it was my gift to myself for finally retiring. I don’t think it even has 11K miles yet. I should have looked at the mileage when I drove it the other night just to charge up the battery. I was surprised it started right up since I can’t remember when I last drove it because I have never driven it in the Winter when there is snow on the roads. I can honestly say it has never seen a crystal of salt.
Don’t worry, it’ll get a good wax job when the weather gets nice and stays nice.

Over the years I’ve known a few people who had oral surgery. They we’re talking when they should have been listening,
Hope you’re feeling better even without the meds.

As for the gray paint, we have used the same gray paint in all 3 of our flips so far and plan to use it in flip #4 too because we have gotten countless comments from buyers and neighbors about how much they like it. No sense in arguing with success.

Speaking of gray I like the flat gray color they use on Accords, Chargers, and KIA K5s these days;
Personally, I can’t stand those new color tones. Especially that grey, it looks like primer.
That's what is so cool about it.....it looks like you aren't even trying. It looks tough - like you don't care about what color your car is. Flat gray and black wheels tells the world......I don't care what you think!

My 74’ Charger had golden orange shag carpeting with a white and black Aztec interior. At the time I thought it was spectacular.
Like this?
I miss the thicker carpeting that was popular for a time. Now most carpet is paper thin and without any plushness. I get tickled when I see a fastened seatbelt that someone sits on to avoid having to wear it or be subject to the seat belt buzzer or ignition lock out.
The ‘74 cars had a seatbelt interlock that you could override by pressing a button in the engine bay. Some people defeated them by buckling the belt behind them. Smart people reached under the seat and unplugged the sensor.

That always seemed obvious to me too. There is probably some kick back to the doctor for writing a prescription.

Was reviewing the maintenance records for the MINI, and noticed it was time to get the tires rotated.
Set up an appointment for 2PM today, got there about quarter of, and was out the door at 5 minutes to 2.
Had to manually reset the TPMS monitor and drive the car for a few minutes to clear the warning light, but all is good.
$0.00 charge.

I know you had a bad experience once.
The car was in the first stall next to the waiting room, so I watched it all - even the part where the senior tech used the torque wrench to confirm the lug nuts were at the right tightness.

Yeah.. wasn’t moving the box.

1) I am in the left turn lane and there is one car in front of me...a Cadillac XTS (small SUV.) The two overhead thru lights are red, but the left turn arrow light is blinking amber and this guy isn't moving.
Now that takes a lot of (4 letter word) or guts.
