I think a doughnut a year should be o.k. LOL

A few days ago I was going thru the Tim Horton's Drive Thru to get 4 coffees for the tennis guys. I haven't had a donut in over 20 years but I picked up these new ones they advertise on TV, Chocolate Peanut Butter with cream cheese filling. So the guy in front of me gets his order, and slowly his car goes forward right into the high sidewalk. He backs up to get out and I back up just in case. Then he turns and leaves. I say to the guy at the window what was that all about? And "The Guy" says "Beats me, I see that kind of thing happen every day".
Then I park and carry the coffees and donuts over and there is a big chunk of black plastic on the curb. There are parking spaces and the curb juts way out beside the end space. Then I notice tire marks going over the curb where the car hit the curb and he must have scraped off his front bumper guard....and he left it there, all for a cup of coffee! :s

Not having a donut for 20 years could explain your problem.

I eat them fairly regularly. But I only eat 3 kinds. Granulated sugar, jelly and cake doughnuts with granulated cinnamon sugar. The type you’re eating can’t be good for your health. :'(

I have a beanbag that removes odors under the box. There still is a slight bad aroma from when the mice made a nest in the cowl area.

Now this is most definitely not good news. If chip production falls further behind, new car prices are not going to come down anytime soon.

Hong Kong (CNN Business)China's Sichuan province has ordered all factories to shut down for six days to ease a power shortage in the region as a scorching heat wave sweeps across the country.

Sichuan is a key manufacturing location for the semiconductor and solar panel industries and the power rationing will hit factories belonging to some of the world's biggest electronics companies, including Apple (AAPL) supplier Foxconn and Intel (INTC).

The province is also China's lithium mining hub — a key component of electric car batteries — and the shutdown may push up the cost of the raw material, analysts said.

Last call for Dodge Charger and Challengers as we know them now.

What are the police going to use?
I understand the muscle cars will get a proper send-off for 2023 with special editions and a factory-assisted aftermarket convertible option for the Challenger, announced at the inaugural Dodge Speed Week.

Also, I believe dealers can charge extra for these end of the line models.

Anyone lining up to buy one?

My MB dealer has mechanics that get top notch training. And, if they make a mistake, MB should cover it.
You have to trust someone at some point. Mistakes can happen, I really haven't heard of an MB dealer blowing an oil change, or any work really.
Now if I got my oil changed at Iffy Lube, then I would try to check it over before going very far.

Hate to tell you how many professionals with top notch training and certifications to go with it that know jack about what they are doing.
I think the odds are with me at the dealership. I don't think they would keep a mechanic who can't do an oil change.
It seems some people think they are genius's because they can do an oil change. Anyone could do it if they learned...watched Youtube, or tried it. I get no satisfaction doing something like changing oil when I could be playing tennis, or pickleball, or reading the newspaper or a book, or meeting friends. Big deal, you could probably teach a monkey how to do an oil change.
I have never had a problem with any oil change I have had performed in almost 60 years, why would I want to check on the job done...I would have wasted hours of my life. If something goes wrong the dealer will pay for it..........it doesn't make sense to re-check everything unless you are OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder).
If you enjoy doing oil changes then knock yourself out, I have better things to do.
I want to know how much the oil change expert that trains the monkey's to change the oil get paid.

Well, at least no one got a "just wow" which I tended to get back when I engaged in this topic and several others. Some people can change a fuse; others take it to the "guy."

    Go figure.

Another bizarre happenstance while on the road today.

I was traveling East on I-90 where it snakes through Albany a few exits past where stickguy’s kid works and suddenly up ahead I see cars screeching to a stop and skidding around what looked like a pileup in the left lane. I swung over to the right to avoid the mess only to see that a young man had stopped his car dead in the road and was walking back to argue with the car behind him. All this in traffic going 60-70 mph. As I pulled my phone out to call the police he hopped back in his car and sped off.

Yesterday, I was on my way to tennis on a two lanes in one direction highway, that splits ahead. A pretty blonde lady is on my rear bumper in her Audi SUV. I can't go faster because there are cars ahead of me, but I leave a little extra space in front because I'll need it if we slow down. She scoots out to the other lane, gets ahead and cuts back in front of me. I had a feeling she was going to do that.....so I just let her. All that to get one car ahead.....and arrive 5 seconds earlier at her destination. Once we got on the next highway which was 3 lanes in one direction, she was in the right lane and I moved over a lane and flew past her anyway.

Your guy is a weird one....but, they are out there!

You should watch some Youtube dashcam videos - that kind of thing happens a lot. Surprised there's not more bloodshed given this armed and polite society - at the very minimum, if one stops traffic and gets out of their car in some infantile outburst, they deserve to have their identity put on blast across the internet.

Pricing of gasoline at my local Costco is $3.94 for PUG and $3.37 for RUG. Significant drops in costs of gasoline here in Southeastern Florida at Costco. Hope prices stabilize for a few months.

Another bizarre happenstance while on the road today.

Now what transgression is so bad that you would risk killing yourself, not to mention many other innocent people to settle some macho spitting contest? What’d the world coming to?

I picked my grandson up at school for a few years. The school was about 3 miles away. The road was also 2 lanes in one direction almost all the way.

I learned if I stayed in the right lane, I almost always arrived sooner than the ones in the left lane and/or the ones changing lanes to get an advantage. I would say over 90% of the time.

You could pick out something distinguishable about a vehicle to be able to track it and slowly see it fade away.

Sheriff's Department uses Chevy Tahoes for their patrol vehicles.

Now that I can get a law enforcement discount on a police vehicle, no manufacturer buids anything I'd want. The Charger is the only car available, and with a bench seat and column shift it's an AARP special. One of my friends who was a prosecutor in the '90s had a Camaro police pursuit addition, and Ford had a similar package for the Mustang. No longer.
That said, I may get a BMW RT Police bike.

You should watch some Youtube dashcam videos - that kind of thing happens a lot. Surprised there's not more bloodshed given this armed and polite society - at the very minimum, if one stops traffic and gets out of their car in some infantile outburst, they deserve to have their identity put on blast across the internet.

Now what transgression is so bad that you would risk killing yourself, not to mention many other innocent people to settle some macho spitting contest? What’d the world coming to?

I’ve seen those road rage videos but none of them ever occurred on a high speed freeway. Most are at traffic lights and such.

That reminds me of an incident years ago where a two lane merged into one and these two clowns flew by me and began slamming their cars into the sides of each other. They continued out of sight. I saw in the news the next day that they went on like that until they pulled over in a parking lot and began fist fighting until the cops came and pulled them apart.

Much better than SE MA; BJs $4/RUG & 4.68/PUG.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to properly load a dishwasher? Our new GE Profile isn't doing a good job, we've already had GE's service contractor out to tell us all is well. He recommended running hot water in sink to get the HW flowing and use a rinsing agent. Thanks, it's a dishwasher, it should be washing dishes without extra strokes.

    away.
....and today a hot shot motorcycle guy was in a hurry and he just missed my left front fender, and then sped between two cars, found himself behind a slow moving dump truck, sharply turned back into the left lane behind another car and then had to stop behind that car for a red light. I had to turn off to the right just before the light....he should have stayed behind me and he would have ended up in the same spot.

The rinsing agent is a good idea. But, I agree. You shouldn't have to run hot water to get your dishwasher to work. Call the seller, and tell them to take it back.

As long as the dishes are exposed to the flowing water they should get washed. Our dishwasher works well but I always get the hot water running before I turn it on. Hot water is going to work better and I don't think a dishwasher could be that good at heating up water. If getting the water hot doesn't help then I think the problem is something else...maybe not enough pressure, maybe gummed up sprinklers etc. I think loading is pretty straightforward, though I can get 30% more dishes into our DW than MrsD100 can....I know it is sexist to say it but I think men are better at spatial analysis. However some men may act like they can't load a DW so they get out of doing it.

Explorer, I agree that changing the address is a royal pain. I never realized how many places had it. Just keep working down the list as needed! I did miss one. we brought something with us that won't fit so I decided to try and sell it on Marketplace. Did the ad, 2 days later, no activity. so I went in to lower the price and realized I neglected to change the location so it listed it as being at the old place. Though in the ad body I said what town. And given that it was heavy and driveway pickup only, that was going to be a problem.

so had to delete it (could not figure out how to edit that) and change the location and repost it. Maybe that will get somebody interested!

I never used Marketplace since I don’t use Facebook and that venue is a scammers paradise. Try Craigslist.

Thanks, I too find myself rearranging the dishes in the washer; maximize the efforts.
I think it's just an inefficient machine, but getting it replaced (came with the new digs) ain't gonna be easy. Perhaps next we'll try the hw trick with a lighter load.

I think that's going to depend on the area you're in. Around here, Facebook Marketplace seems to be more useful than Craigslist, at least right at this moment. What the h___, they're both free, use both!
