    @suydam,
Jeez, a few weeks ago, I got lawn shamed, now bird feeder shamed. :'(
Are you afraid that the birds are going to sniff the glue? :o
Did you check to see that the lithium in your EV anf PHEV were responsibly sourced? :D

    Consider yourself properly scolded.

You’re a good grandfather, @explorerx4 . Hard lesson to learn at 5, with a gift no less, that some things can’t be fixed back to before. He’ll remember you tried though.

My granddaughter had a Dancer the reindeer stuffy that she loved for some reason. She carried it with her everywhere. On the door edge where my daughter marked her and her brother's height, Dancer was also measured.

Eventually it got so dirty and ratty that I found a new one on eBay. I told her I found a lady who could restore it.

I took it and a few days later I gave her the new one. I think she was suspicious, but she took it anyway.

I was at their house over the weekend and she still has it.

People say you shouldn't poison rats with loose pebbles of poison rat food, but once they break into your S4's engine compartment, it's War without rules. I won the war.

If some birds died eating it; collateral damage.

So I thought the X3 would help reduce my risk of speeding tickets, but the opposite is likely true. I often find myself creeping up to triple digits and it's just so smooth and easy to get to that spot with the powerful inline 6 engine. Before you know it, your going 90 or 100. The ride height (higher than I am used to) seems to make it seem like your going slower than you are (based on internal speed sensor in your brain).

In this case I doubt that the 5 year old would be happy if the birds died at his feeder!
Personally I’d be replacing it with an unbreakable one. Since it looks like a tire, I imagine the relatives had no idea it was ceramic.

Its a lot more enjoyable in SPORT PLUS mode, it acts like a dual clutch race car, complete with lightning fast shifts, pleasant exhaust sound enhancements, but for some reason my wife hates it (sport+ mode). Go figure.

My wife is no slow driver at all, but she doesn't seem to like abrupt crispy snappy shifts made with authority, or obnoxious to some exhaust sound.

She seems to prefer smoothness even when driving aggressively. The VW Tiguan slush box 8 speed is her cup of tea.

My wife really doesn't say anything about my driving unless it involves the Stoplight Grand Prix. Back in the '80s my Bavaria (equipped with a first generation Escort and a CB) rarely travelled at less than 85 mph on the interstate and my wife never looked up from whatever book she was reading- even when I crossed PA at an average speed of 100 mph one drizzly Sunday morning.

Mrs. j comes alive when the car downshifts. But like I’ve said before that’s expected from a driver that’s never cracked 3000 RPM. She used to get upset when I drove as little 5 MPH over the speed limit. Now I can get away with 10 maybe even 15 MPH over the speed limit as long as the car doesn’t lean too much in the curves.

    jmonroe
It's not so much the lean as it is the G-forces for those that don't like roller coasters. When I upgraded my A3 with 28 mm Hotchkis sway bars front and rear and coilovers it was very level even with hard turning, but those passengers that don't like fast turns still didn't like it.

Oh the joys of home ownership. Our fence fell because of continued heavy rain and water gushing underneath it. It was repaired yesterday. Also hitting the bank account, replacing a garage door opener, having an electrician do some repairs, a new lawn mower yet to be unboxed but will be used this weekend.

I received an update today from Steve Magnante, longtime presenter on the B-J Classic Car auctions and host of Junkyard Gold on Motor Trend, who contracted a devastating case of encephalitis about a year ago, likely from an insect bite during one of his junkyard visits. He was in a coma for a long time and in hospital and then rehab care for a long time as well. It has pretty much destroyed both his career and his life and as you can imagine the bills are enormous. Steve always struck me as a very genuine guy and one of us. If you can, please consider helping him out:

that would match my yellow Cub Cadet beast of a snowblower.

my EGo has pretty good run time. I can probably do about 1/3 of an acre on a charge. I actually used it today to mow down the weeds a bit since the concrete guys were supposed to come over today to grade and put the forms in. But the rain thought otherwise so probably showing up Monday now to form instead of pour, which is fine with us.

I did about 1/2 I think of what will end up being the mowable area of our 3/4 acres. Should be fine with the 20" U push it instead of getting a ride on. But won't really have to worry about it until next year.

We are lucky enough to live on Lake Champlain and our property is high enough above the water. The river valley towns have been hit hard this summer. First the remnants of Beryl, then some unnamed thunderstorms and now Debby is hitting. The water rushes down the mountains and tiny creeks become raging torrents.
For me, the lake level has risen a lot and is dirty from the river flooding. I have to constantly adjust my dock height above the water, but that's a small price to pay.
