I agree, concussions cannot be taken lightly anymore. I'm just thankful that my grandson is OK. Which is kind of miraculous after seeing how hard he was hit.
It is very interesting that you mentioned the Cleveland Clinic C3 Logix app. Just this morning I was reading an article from yesterdays Sunday edition of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette about that app. There is also another concussion test that was developed by UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) that is called ImPact. The article says both are good but the Cleveland Clinic C3 Logix test is "gaining a foothold in the region through an agreement with Highmark's Allegheny Health Network".
UPMC and Highmark have been in a constant battle over the last, what seems like a decade at least, about who is better suited to be your health care provider.
As usual, in a free marketplace, competition is best for the consumer and with all the emphasis on concussions today, I say the more the merrier.

Finished mine too (both states and the Feds). Just need to print out some copies to attach to the Michigan return. So glad I'm done with Michigan - NM was a 2 pager (front and back) with one attachment. MI wants copies of everything. Thanks to the timber lobby I suppose (don't efile typically). Paid some, getting some back, so it's sort of a wash.
I hit curbs all the time. Does the Pilot have low profiles or something?
one thing about having a kid in college. You need to do the taxes as early as possible so you can get the FAFSA submited. Only 1 more next year of those for me though!
We are giving one of the kids my wife's 2013 Escape, so that means an empty garage bay. My wife said I can't sell our convertible and my truck technically fits, but not really practical to do so. We both agree it would be fun to have a vehicle with a stick again. This kind of looks good to me.
@jmonroe - glad your grandson is OK. He's the same age as my oldest son (he'll be 10 in September) who plays hockey. Your grandson is a "Squirt," correct?
I got all my tax docs to the accountant pretty later this year. We pay a ton of mortgage interest & always seem to get a healthy return every year.
The Pilot doesn't have low profiles. 245 65 R17s. Costco's road hazard is covering the tire. It measured at 11/12, so I only had to pay $20.
The Pilot does have a spare. I've driven on it so much, that I should get a new one before our road trip to Disney this summer.

Who backs a flat taxing system? The current one does give a person wiggle-room. I still can't believe I got us (with help from Tax Act Online) a net profit of $690 this year! We owed the State of New Mexico a whopping $4.00, the State of Kansas owes us $290.00 and The Feds owed us $404.00. The Feds paid up quickly. I paid New Mexico online with the tax program immediately and the State of Kansas still needs ta pony up. Thankfully that tax program gives you oodles and scaboodles of directions to go with plenty of explanatory information to go along with it. I mean, you can tax-nerd it up to the fullest extent of your...patience. I took hours and hours and hours ta do ours.
Driver, it's a shame Ford so screwed up the Five Hundred and subsequent Taurus. I think it is not uncommon for one spouse to like sitting high in an SUV, while the other prefers attributes of a sedan. Those higher seated Ford's could have filled that void some but they cramped the front drivers position, put in a mediocre performing engine (initially) and then really squished it up with the latest iteration.
Berri, I saw a Ford taurus the other day and I really wonder who that car appeals to. It is big and bulky looking without any real great styling. Does someone actually say "That car really turns me on"? If you look at the interior it is pretty dark with a very high beltline....so very little outward visibility. I would prefer an Edge or a Lincoln MKC (the suv one).
My wife likes her GLK but she would have gone for a C Class or a car, if it had good outward vision. I would say we both prefer cars over SUVs, if they feel right.
Actually, I like it. I think it is handsome enough, and don't forget it is a full-size vehicle, so it has less direct competition than the Fusion, which is their midsizer. So it appeals to those who want something larger than a Camcord6 and can't afford a 7/S/A8. The only competition I can think of is the Charger/300.
Funny, as soon as someone on here mentioned Taurus I started seeing them everywhere today. Kind of looks like a brick but then again so does the Chysyler 300. I know the high belt line on many cars is for crash safety but I wish they would make them for visability too. If you could see out of them you might not need a bunch of electronic nannies.

I'm glad to read I'm not the only one finishing up the tax confiscation papers this week. I've had the requisite 1099 forms since mid February. Did my son's taxes but let mine wait. I think I actually enjoy working taxes with a deadline 2-3 weeks away. The irritating part is the penalty for underpayment. I have to be sure I meet the requirement for one of the escape clauses. LOL
I never understand being happy to have overwithheld and having the government give me back my own money with no interest. If I underpay, they charge some huge rate--5% per month of something (I may have that a _little_ high).
I owe Fed $85 and get almost 400$ back from Ohio. Ohio's tax form is up to 3 sheets-6 sides to go through.

A brick....that's a good way to describe it. At least the Chryco 300 looks like a limo or a gangster car, but the Taurus, well, a brick sounds about right. I don't get small narrow windows either, most people prefer more light and better site lines. Even the name Taurus seems lame, like Ford is trying to revive something from the old glory days.
I like those first Taurus's though, especially when they were used as cars of the future in Robocop #1.
The interior is much like that of the Taurus in that it has a high and wide console- a waste of space.
Actually none of the reviewers have mentioned such a phenomenon. In fact several have talked about how open it seems and how the car seems smaller on the outside thanks to the driving position.
We used TurboTax this year and ended up with a massive return. Our first full tax year in the new house and some aggressive savings helped quite a bit there. Washington makes it easy because we have no state/local income taxes, so once our federal return is in we're done.

Did anyone else get an email from security-update@amazon.com? I didn't trust it but previewed it. No links in it--good sign. No misspellings. No bad grammar. Said my password had been changed to a temporary password. Said I would go to any link on the amazon site for login and indicate I lost my password and do a reset.
Couldn't get to a chat or phone number until I had logged in. I did the reset process and verified by chat that they did find my information and a password on the internet. So they blocked their password for safety, since many people use the same password on mulitple sites.
I suspect Amazon security is browsing the dark web to find users info breaches.

While the list was not Amazon-related, we know that many customers reuse their passwords on multiple websites. glad your grandson is OK. He's the same age as my oldest son (he'll be 10 in September) who plays hockey. Your grandson is a "Squirt," correct? _________________________________________________________________________
'nyc',
Thanks for your concern. Like I said, he seemed to be OK before he left the rink on Saturday and his chest is feeling better too which is where he took the hit.
Yes, I'm pretty sure he is a "Squirt". Since he is small for his age, "squirt" is a very fitting description for him, but like I said he does well on the ice. He doesn't try to do more than he is capable of doing but his skill level is progressing nicely. His coach says while he isn't the biggest or the fastest kid out there, if he had 5 like him on every line they would have a better record.
Next year he moves onto the next age group which I think is the "Mites". When he started playing hockey I think he was a "Pee Wee", also a very fitting name for him. I can't keep track of all the names assigned for the teams at the various age groups so don't slam me if I got the names wrong.

It seems to be a "tweener" slotting somewhere between the 5 and 7 series BMWs.
Good review worth reading.....this part is what I was thinking of while I read it:
If you don't need the extra space offered by the CT6, a midsize luxury sedan like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class could be another alternative. It's available with most of the same features at a lower price, while arguably offering a slightly higher degree of perceived quality. This is especially true of the forthcoming 2017 model .
I don't know if they gave the right pricing.....I saw starts in mid $50s which seems pretty good for this kind of car, though I doubt many would buy this car with a 4 cyl engine
I would be very suspicious of any purported email from Amazon. I would make sure to go to the Amazon site itself and call their customer service number before taking any action.
Yeah...I've been getting quite a few emails from Amazon telling me I have a payment that's trying to be made (I don't) or that there is an email not registered trying to access my account (normally from China or the Eastern Block countries), or to follow a link to verify my information (I won't).
When in doubt, don't click any link even remotely suspicious.
CT6 is getting some good initial press. Too big for my needs, but I know some like that size...thinking S series or 7 series competitor. The 4 cyl is supposed to be good in the CT6. I know in the CTS, I'd actually consider it quick. Not as fast as the bigger 6s out there, but a great motor nonetheless. Plus, good MPG.
I know I've driven the A6 2.0, and like the 2.0 in the Caddy better.
Tax man got me in 2015. Biggest issues (on top of having to pay) was getting the estranged wife's signature in absentia. Had to work with th IRS on working around that. Frankly, they were quite helpful and understanding (as was the state).

The grammar error, "...details has not..." was the first clue that this is a scam. I've received a number of scam emails claiming they were Chase Bank. Logo was perfect, but when they asked me to click on a hyperlink that had nothing to do with Chase, it smelled like an outhouse in the summer with high humidity and temperatures.

From what I have been able to gather about the 2017 "4 cylinder E 300 Sedan", in order for the Mercedes Line to be in sync with EPA emissions and fuel economy mandates, they are producing the first E Class sedans and coupes with 4 cylinder turbo engines. A V6 or inline 6 (not sure which will be chosen) with twin turbos achieving 350+ horsepower will not be added until November/December or even later. I would never touch a 4 cylinder 240 hp E Class Sedan (over 4000 pounds). I still remember the 2009 E350's with 268 hp and how underpowered they were.

I would think the more logical step is to just look at the CTS. Mine looks very similar inside and out to the CT6. The starting price is also quite a bit lower than the E-class.

Not bad. That was my first choice on a Mustang but later I realized if I was going for the gusto I should go all the way and get the 5.0. The only problem with the V8 stick was that I could never get past 3rd before I was illegal.
I wouldn't mind the V6 in a convertible where all out performance isn't as important.

I took a BMW 528 (4 cylinder) out for a test drive when I bought my 2012 model. It was pretty lackluster so the salesman said to try a 535. That made all the difference in the world. The lesson learned, if you are going to spend that much money on a car, you might as well get it right the first time.
I was looking at the Edmunds review, and comparing prices on Truecar. In my zip code, the Ecoboost with automatic is $25,154 and the V6 auto is $24,059. So approximately $1,095 more for the Ecoboost, which does give you more than just a little more horsepower and torque
I don’t think the 10 horsepower will matter, but the 40 lb/ft probably will be noticeable. And it probably comes on at a much lower RPM, making it VERY noticeable. And, in addition, you get wheels, power seats, and a little more.
Options include 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, LED foglights and a six-way power driver seat. The EcoBoost gets those options as standard (albeit with its own wheel design) and adds a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a six-way power passenger seat, aluminum dashboard trim and active noise cancellation.
On EDIT: Oops, I was talking about the 2016 Mustang, and failed to make that clear. I hate it when others do that.
Well, I just think winning the World Series is key to being proclaimed the best team. That's why I picked the '89 A's over the '88 A's that won 104 Games. Yes, injuries could (and usually are) a key factor in post-season losses for great regular season teams. Losing a starting player is HUGE, even for a deep team. To prove your case you'll have to show there were some key injuries, otherwise it falls under the below reason:
There's also the Bonds factor, good in the regular season, worthless in the Post-Season (no clutch). Having no clutch disqualifies separates the boys from the men. The true greatness from the mediocrity.
I think it has been said the Angels could have 82 wins by the All-Star break, and still not make the playoffs, for example.
I wouldn't think that winning any one series World Series or not determines which team is better since there is little chance of "evening out". It's simple statistics, any team will have streaks where they play significantly above or below their natural ability. Bad teams can have big winning streaks and good teams can have big losing streaks. Hence to truly judge a team in a season you really have to look at the entire season and not just one portion of the season.
Look at it this way, Baltimore has a 5 - 0 record right now, do you really think that they will go 162 - 0 this season?
As for the Angels winning 82 games by the All Star Break, while mathematically possible it won't happen because no team can play .925 ball for long. But let's say they do have 82 wins by All Star Break. First that gives them a winning season no matter what. Secondly the team with the worse season in MLB history was the 1899 that won only 20 games giving them a .130 record. Apply that to the post All Star break season and that would give the Angels 9 wins and a 91 win season which would give them at least a 50% chance of getting into the playoffs. So barring the team plane flying into a mountain any team that has 82 wins at the All Star break will be going into the play offs.
There is a HUGE difference between a regular season game with little meaning, compared to a playoff game where all the marbles are on the line every game. Players could be tired or in other ways less than fully motivated during the regular season (long string of back to back game days, doubleheaders, and such as an example or reasons this may be). In the playoffs you have teams that are fully rested, fully concentrated, and ideally fully prepared. Every inning and at-bat is under a microscope unlike in the regular season. I think a 7-game series is long enough to establish who is better that particular year, as a streaky win or 2 won't make a difference in the series as you have to win 4 games to clinch it.
Also, my Angels taunt was an exaggeration of what has happened to them not that long ago, but remember, in the 20th Century it was much harder to make the Playoffs. You had to win your Division or go home. No consolation prizes, Central 3rd Divisions, or Wildcard's for 2nd place finishes back then. Win 1st Place or bust. I seem to recall not all that long ago that the Angels had a tremendous record the 1st half of the season, only to crumble under pressure and end up tied for the Division at the end of the Season. That created 1 extra special regular season deciding game between them and I believe it was Seattle? to decide the real winner (Not a playoff game in my book), and they promptly lost that game (of course) and didn't make the true Playoffs.

People know I'm not a Mercedes fan, but I had an E350 rental (Sixt) about a year or 2 ago, and it wasn't under-powered by any means. It wasn't a rocket, but it was sufficient. Granted, it was probably a 2013 or '14 so by then it was probably around 300 horses I"m guessing, I see you mentioned 2009. Frankly, when I was looking at '11 or '12? and older C Classes I was terribly disappointed with the interiors, not sure if the same was true back then for the E Classes. I think it might have been '12 or '13 when the C-Class got its interior act together.
Still, the C350 just wasn't quite enough for me, so I ended up in an S4. I wonder if the C400 would be enough to change my mind.

When I played high school football we had a drill where coach would have us all lie down in a line. The guy on the end of the line would peel off and go down the line ramming his helmet into everyone else's helmet, then lie down on the other end so the line kept moving. Long time ago and my wife says that explains a lot.
We are giving one of the kids my wife's 2013 Escape, so that means an empty garage bay. My wife said I can't sell our convertible and my truck technically fits, but not really practical to do so. We both agree it would be fun to have a vehicle with a stick again. This kind of looks good to me.
Not bad. That was my first choice on a Mustang but later I realized if I was going for the gusto I should go all the way and get the 5.0. The only problem with the V8 stick was that I could never get past 3rd before I was illegal.
I wouldn't mind the V6 in a convertible where all out performance isn't as important.
I'd buy a used 2015 GT before I'd buy a new 2016 V6. Every time...

Since I already have a Mustang GT, I don't really need another one. Plus, 43x hp would get me in a lot of trouble. A not too highly optioned Focus ST appeals to me, but the new Civic turbo/stick sounds interesting. Focus has more power than I would need. Part of this depends on when the garage space opens up.

Every time...
The only time true performance is essential is moving onto a high-speed interstate or toll road. I get on to the FL Turnpike just about every day. That is when I need a boost of power in order to match the speed of oncoming vehicles. A V6 or inline 6 without a turbo just doesn't do it for me. When I drove the E350 with the 302 hp V6, it was difficult to merge properly because of the lack of a boost of power.
The E400 I had last year and the CLS400 I now own has a 3.0 liter V6 with twin turbos generating about 330 hp with 354 lb ft of torque. It's like punching a V8 - honestly. I don't need anything more powerful and I am getting great fuel economy. I choked when I heard the new E Class coming out in June/July was available only in a 4 cylinder engine.
The interior is much like that of the Taurus in that it has a high and wide console- a waste of space.
Actually none of the reviewers have mentioned such a phenomenon. In fact several have talked about how open it seems and how the car seems smaller on the outside thanks to the driving position.
I took a BMW 528 (4 cylinder) out for a test drive when I bought my 2012 model. It was pretty lackluster so the salesman said to try a 535. That made all the difference in the world. The lesson learned, if you are going to spend that much money on a car, you might as well get it right the first time.
Andres....the power in the S4 is intoxicating. No doubt about that.
In the range you're talking, E350, 528i, CTS 2.0, A6 2.0....hell, I'll throw the ES350 and Acura TLX in the mix, too....they've made great strides with 4 cyl turbo technology.
I do know in my CTS 2.0, it has so much torque, so low in the RPM band, it will shove me in the back. Use the paddles to kick it down a gear, and things become real blurry, really quickly.
Try qbrozen's CTS dual turbo 6, and things get really blurry and cetrifugal force takes over.
I test drove a C class with both the 4 cyl turbo and the 6 turbo. I liked both. The 4 cyl had less weight to carry around, so it felt closer to the sports feel I like. Same goes for the CTS.
I might look at an E Class when the new ones hit. I'm still putting the Jag XF Turbo 6 at the top of the list just because it's just so damned sexy.........!

When it comes to possible concussions, it's better to be safe.
There even is an ipad app.

I never understand being happy to have overwithheld and having the government give me back my own money with no interest. If I underpay, they charge some huge rate--5% per month of something (I may have that a _little_ high).
I owe Fed $85 and get almost 400$ back from Ohio. Ohio's tax form is up to 3 sheets-6 sides to go through.

glad your grandson is OK.

Today, you have to be so careful.

V6 == 300 hp, 280 lb/ft
Ecoboost == 310 hp, 320 lb/ft
I don’t think the 10 horsepower will matter, but the 40 lb/ft probably will be noticeable. And it probably comes on at a much lower RPM, making it VERY noticeable. And, in addition, you get wheels, power seats, and a little more. On EDIT: Oops, I was talking about the 2016 Mustang, and failed to make that clear. I hate it when others do that.
Still, the C350 just wasn't quite enough for me, so I ended up in an S4. I wonder if the C400 would be enough to change my mind.
I don't find any email address of mine on the net, at least the regular internet. I won't venture into some of the dark areas.
