I actually have a copy of the lease worksheet that I got from the dealer. They are indicating .00201 MF and full retail on the car. They are rolling my positive equity in my previous Q7 into the lease. Definitely does not sound like a good deal.

Ouch. Perhaps it may be time to reach out to a new Audi dealer.

What's the current residual and money factor on a 2015 Q5 2.0t premium plus for 10, 12, 15k/yr in South Florida. Thanks in advance for your help. If it helps the MSRP on the car I'm looking at is 49,720. Wouldn't mind hearing what someone thinks would be a great deal... I'm trying to do this before the end of the year!

    Add 2% for 12K and 3% for 10K.

Target price would be 4-6% off MSRP.

Thank you for the quick response. You wouldn't happen to have the same information on the 2015 Q3 2.0t, would you? They're trying to sell me on the Q3 to get my payments below the $500/m tax in threshold.

On the Q5 they got me down to $599/m with 10k/yr  for 48 months and $3500 paid at signing (1st, sales tax, and other fees). I'm thinking I might counter back to 36mo, 12k/yr for $599/m with $3000 paid at signing (basically knocking out their dealer fee).

I'm showing $420.44/mo before tax. Be advised the base MF for the 2.0T is .00134; not sure why the dealer is showing less.

Not sure what the sales tax is; but 9% takes the base payment to $458.28.

Is any of the $2000 up front going to cap cost reduction?

thanks. went back today and got the following final offer sorted. Still curious if it was a good deal or not.

    MSRP $42,595
    Sales Price $37,602

$2000 at signing with $530 going to cap reduction and $500 going to a lease that we were slightly negative on

    $449 mo inc tax

and yes, sales tax is 9% and you were correct about the MF being .00134 not .00133.

Anyone know the MF and Res% on a Q5 Prem Plus 2.0 with 15k miles per year and 36 months

Also 3.0 prem plus with 15k/36months....are there any special offers for Jan 2015?

If I get Audi care does the Res% become better?

    Thanks!

MF is the same for Premium and Premium Plus.

I'm getting $530.21/mo pre-tax with your numbers. With tax takes you right to the $577.91 you are being quoted.

If you are comfortable with the selling price, there isn't much room to do better.

Hi. I'm new to leasing and received a couple of quotes for a 2015 Q5 TDI Premium Plus with Tech Package. Could you please tell me where these deal stands? If either one is good or is there room to improve deal.

One dealer quoted me the following:
    MSRP: $56,245
    Cash Price: $50,914
    Adj Cap: $49,862
    Doc Fee: $80
    DMV Fee: $441
    48 months / 10,000 miles/yr
    Drive-off: $3,000
    Monthly Payment: $586 + tax ($47)
    Residual at 53% ($29,810)
RateK: 0.00211 (I think this is what you consider money factor)

Second dealer quote (didn't get anything in writing so no other details):
    MSRP: $52,695
    Residual at 53% ($27,929)
    42 months / 15,000 miles/yr
    Drive-off: $5,000
Monthly Payment: $560 (includes tax in CA)

I drive close to 12,000-15,000 miles per year. The dealer from 1st quote mentioned that I should not be concern with the lower miles/yr. I can either trade in the car for another lease or buyout car. That as long as I don't return at end of term, I'll be fine. My husband seems to be ok with that but I'm not too sure. Your input would be appreciated?

I was informed that my credit is fair to good (in Tier B).

    Thank you.

The numbers from the first quote work out ... but, what is the $3000 up front cover?

The base MF for the Q5 TDI is .00147 .. tier B adds .0004 to that (.00187), so your dealer is marking the MF on you for a bit of extra profit.

Not enough information on the second quote to offer much advice, I'm afraid.

regarding the number of miles per year in the lease, I think your dealer is being a bit disingenuous with you. The residual is based on the miles per year - if you go over, you'll have to pay the mileage penalty, even if that means those costs are carried over into the next lease. They don't just "go away". He is correct in saying that if you buy the car out, it doesn't matter how many miles are on it - just be aware that the buyout price is based on a car that is 4 years old with 40,000 miles on it. If the car has 60,000 miles, you'll be overpaying based on the car's true worth.

Thank you for your help and information. I'm trying to get more info on the $3,000 upfront. The paper I have show some fees (Doc Fee $80, DMV $441 & Tire fee $8.75). I assume 1st month payment is included.

You mentioned the first quote works out. What do you mean? Is this a fair or good deal? I assume its not great. Where does this deal stands compared to others? Am I better off trying to work with another dealer for a better deal?

RE: MF, since B is .00187 and I'm getting .00211, what is the different in additional monthly payment? How do you calculate it?

Regarding lease based on miles per year, dealer explained that if I want to trade in the car after 24 or 36 months and I'm still under 40,000 miles (i.e. 24,000 miles after 24 months), there will not be any issue or penalty.

Regarding the 2nd quote, what other information are needed to figure whether its a good deal? This was my first time asking for lease price so I didn't think to ask for a copy of their quote, but I recall he mentioned price of car is $3,000 below invoice so around $46,500-47,000. Sales Tax rate at 8%.

If I use the base MF of .00187, the payment with tax drops to $612 ($567 + $45 tax). So, your dealer quote can be improved upon.

My suggestion is read up on leasing and what all the terms mean before moving forward, do not get caught up on the monthly payment, since this allow the dealer to hide money in the deal to line their pockets. The way to lease is to put the least amount of out of pocket money down on the car, So if all fee's, first months payments and tax's do not equal to 3K then it's not a good deal then they have added a Cap reduction to the deal which is not a smart thing to do.

Yes work with a couple of dealers, this will allow you to see different deal and how they use the money.. I guarantee you will see different monthly payments, different MF and different down payment. NEVER give the dealer what you are comfortable paying a month, you want to work on sale price, so work at invoice price and go up from there...

For Audi's, we're seeing transaction prices of 5-7% below sticker. That's a good target to set.

Negotiate the lowest selling price and ensure that the dealer isn't marking up the MF .. that will ensure you get the best lease payment.

Hi. Can anyone tell me what sort of MF and residuals are available in South Florida market for Audi Q5 2.0L? I can do premium or premium plus. I understand a promotion expires tomorrow and would hate to negotiate under the gun but don't want to pass up a good deal either. All help greatly appreciated.

Still waiting for the January numbers from Audi.

The December numbers, which I believe are valid through 1/8, are .00134 and 57% for 36/15 (premium). Deduct 3% for premium plus. Add 2% for 12K and 3% for 10K.

Thanks, Michael! My lease expires in June but as I have very low miles, my purchase price right now is about $2k less than the blue book value if I sold to dealer so I'm thinking of trading in now and using the low miles as leverage instead of waiting till June. In your experience, are the December numbers generally the best deals of the year, or at least better than summer?

December numbers tend to be the best, but based on supply/demand and a desire to move more product, anything is possible.

When I plug your numbers in, I get a pre-tax payment of $623 as well.

However, the base MF for the Q5 TDI is .00114, so the dealer is marking that up on you for a bit of extra profit. And, I'm showing the 36/12 residual for the TDI Premium Plus as 58%; confirm with the dealer they are using the right number.

If I use the MF and residual from the Audi docs, the base payment goes to $627 - not a huge difference.

My Q5 should arrive late Feb. and I want to do a lease. I l want to pay as little as possible at signing. I put down $1K to order the car. I am very confused about $ due at signing and how that is calculated. I hoping that you can answer several questions and thanks in advance.

Specs: 2015 Q5, 3.0 Premium Plus. MSRP is $49,050 with options not including $925 destination. The negotiated price is $46,502 including destination + $199 dealer admin fee of some type. I would like to add Audi Care ($860) and do a 36 month, 12K mile lease. I live in MO, 8.25% tax rate, the taxes are paid monthly in the lease. $625 acquisition fee and $40 doc fees & lic tags.

    1. What is the MF? 2. What is my residual? 3. What should my monthly payment be with and without taxes? 4. How much should be due at signing and does that include the $1K I already put down and how is that calculated?
    5. Are the acquisition & admin fee; tags & destination apart of the lease or the money due at signing?

    Many thanks for your assistance.

    1) .00116 MF
    2) 58% residual
    3) Adding the AudiCare, Dealer fee, acq.fee to the selling price. MSRP $49,975, CAP cost $48,186, the pre-tax payment is $636.16. Add 8.25% tax and you get $688.64
    4) 1st payment + $40 tags.. Take that out of the $1000 and ask for the rest of it back.
    5) I rolled the admin and acq.fee into the lease.. because those items are taxable, either way.. I left the tags to pay upfront, because that fee isn't taxable.

Destination isn't separate.. it's part of the MSRP (for residual calculation), and any price you negotiate should include it.. Dealerships like to separate it out, to confuse you and get you focused on other numbers than the total price..

Why does the Prestige have a lower residual?
