That CAP cost seems kind of high, unless the dealer isn't give you any discount at all on the vehicle, other than the factory incentive. At that CAP cost, it's $329/mo.+tax. I don't think you have all the numbers..

Hey guys, I have a lease ending in May. I am returning a 2014 Overland (no tech) and my dealer is offering me a 2015 Overland High Altitude edition for $495/month, 0 down. Only require to pay first month payment of $495. Taxes, titles, registration all included as well as absorbing last 3 payments. Too good to be true? We didn't get into all the details in regards to residual, MF, etc but since that is posted here I figure don't really need it. Curious if there is anything I need to be watching out for before signing. Let me know. Hope to make deal this weekend.

^good advice. Also, I strongly suggest you do your due diligence. What is msrp, dealer discount, incentive cash, money factor, residual, leasing entity (Chrysler/Ally/etc.) and dealer fees. Then you can make a judgement a solid judgement. I'm curious, is this a 2wd or 4wd model?

Thanks for the quick responses. I will definitely make sure that they are 100% dealing with the turn in on the vehicle. This is the same dealer I bought the 2014 from so I assume so but will indeed double check. In regards to the rest of the info, this is indeed a 4wd model. The MSRP on this is $50,085. Right now they are advertising it for $43,585 on their website. Not sure if they is the final price or if they are discounting it some more for me. I am planning on heading down there this afternoon to get all the details and possibly sign if all legit.

Ok, well I signed the papers and pick up the car tomorrow. I think this was a good deal as it's more of a car and paying less than what I was for the 2014 Overland. Let me know what you think, here are the numbers:

Massachusetts

Ally Bank/Leasing

36 months, 12k miles

MSRP - $50,0850
Initial cap cost - $48785.03 (includes all registration fees)
Adjusted cap cost - $37106.83 (-11,678.20)
Residual - $26545.05
Amount due at start - $495

Base monthly - $465.88
Total Monthly (6.25% tax) - $495

Again, they are taking the 2014 with 3 payments left. I triple confirmed that there is no disposition fee or anything else out of pocket when turning in the car.

I'm looking at a 2015 Overland 4x4 High Altitude with Rear Ent. MSRP is $52080. Dealer website says $3124 discount, bringing it to $48956. Jeep website says $3000 Lease/Bonus cash. That brings it down to $45956.

From there, what would be a good/great lease price to aim for with 10K/yr, 36 mo. Also, what would the MF and Residual be for this vehicle? Thanks

Residual is fixed by the bank and cannot be modified; MF is for top tier credit and can't go any lower than that.

The MF on the Chrysler lease is marked up the max, so the payment could be even lower. We don't have ally numbers to confirm.

I would recommend staying with Chrysler financial as ally can nickel and dime you at the end of the lease especially for wear and tear and even tires. I would find the invoice on your vehicle using this site. There is cash available if you use Chrysler financial and subtract this from the invoice price. Work your way up from this. If you build your bank fee and dealer fee(or equivalent fee) into the price you add this on to your adjusted cap cost. Chrysler and ally will have different residuals and money factors.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Members like you have made this site a go-to place for me for....well, more years than perhaps I'd like to admit! One sales manager I was dealing with was playing a bit of cat and mouse, but I happened to be near the dealership today so I thought I'd stop in and ask for the screen print. Lo and behold, a different sales manager was willing to give it to me. I was concerned that they were basing the price on something different than the "buy" deal we had discussed, and now I"m seeing that it's the same so that helps me understand it better (in my line of work I need to see things "on paper" before I'll agree to anything!

I'll take your advice about Ally and avoid them. So, that leaves me with the following:

MSRP $46,200

Buy Deal
Invoice - $44,253
Dealer Discount - $3,000
FCA Incentive - $1,000
Vehicle Price = $40,253
Dealer Processing Fee + $599 (brutal in VA, just brutal)
Total = $40,852 + T&T

Lease Deal (3yr/15k w 50% Residual = $23,100, MF .00065 Pymt $527/mo)
Invoice - $44,253
Dealer Discount $3,000
FCA Incentive $3,000
Vehicle Price $38,253
Dealer Processing Fee + $599

The print-out notes a "Disposition Fee" of $395 and a "Purchase Option Fee" of $350, and they seem to be included in the price.

Total = $38,852 + DF & PO Fees, T&T

In most states you can not get around the dealer fee. When I figure out my lease I take this into consideration as extra profit that is being added on to the deal. I also watch to make sure the bank fee and the money factor are not increased. The disposition fee is lease return fee and it should not be included in the price. same goes for purchase option fee.
