We don't know the actual standard MF from Toyota. Anywhere from .00180 to .00200 is our best guess. And, it could be regional as well.

Can't tell you if it's marked up, but we've seen other posters report that MF as well....

We want a lease deal on the 2016 Highlander awd limited platinum in Colorado.

The dealership gave me these numbers and I'd like to know if it's a good deal and if all the numbers look right to you. This dealer does not charge D&H. Only a filing fee of $7.20 and our taxes. Our credit is Tier 1

M.S.R.P. is at $45,615.00 and they are telling me that our cap cost is $40,068.00

Residual is $28,737.00

The MF that they are insisting on using is .00190 because .00180 is only for the folks that have previously leased with Toyota with a FICO of 720+

36 month lease, 15,000 miles, $2820 down including 1st Payment = $450 payment including taxes

I have a tax sheet but I don't understand everything on it. Do we use the total combined use tax rate of 3.025 or the total combined sales tax rate of 8.275?

I get $445/mo. with tax, so part of your $2820 upfront must be used as a CAP cost reduction against that $40,068.

I'm not that familiar with CO taxes, but I'm certain that they tax the monthly payment, and it's probably that 8.275% rate.

If they say the MF is .00190, that's probably true, as Toyota dealers don't usually mark up their rates.

I'd get a breakdown of what else you are paying for with your $2820 (1st payment, acq.fee, GAP insurance.. what else?)

We asked them for a breakdown and now I am confused by what they sent.
Do you have a way I can send an attachment to you because I don't know how to articulate it? They made a huge mistake early on and tried to rectify it by going back of invoice. Original numbers were 446 but the manager put in 12K mile residual. So we insisted that they stick to the deal on the 15K residual but they are at 450 month. The breakdown sheet shows a mark up on the msrp of 46498. which is 883 above the original msrp. I don't know what they are doing?

As a resident of Colorado, I can assure you that you will pay the 8% tax on the monthly payment of your lease.

The MSRP used in a lease calculation should be the bottom line number of the window sticker. Do you know if there are any dealer installed accessories on the car in question?

Sadly, the .00190 MF is correct .. Toyota uses this as the base rate for many of their more popular models.

I went back to the dealer and found some clarification. Apparently they have 2 inbound units (2016 Highlander Platinum) with a different MSRP. We want the color pattern of the 45,615 MSRP and put down a deposit on the unit so they don't sell it. Inventory is low in metro Denver. I guess these are in high demand because other dealers don't one to work on with us.

They put together an adjusted proposal of selling that 2016 Highlander for 41,418.00 and tax of 3.025% with verification to our address. 36 months, 15k miles and only $2820 down for a 450 payment. MF is .00190 now


Is there anything we are missing? Does the math add up to you?

Where do you live that the sales tax is only 3%?

We had the dealer confirm that the tax to our address is included in the 450 payment three times. We live at Lodge Pole, Dillon, Colorado 80435. The website that the dealer uses is http://taxco.g1.com/COTaxLookup/

Ah, the mountains. I'm in metro Denver.

Too good to be true? Can't speak to that. The only variables in a lease are the money factor and the selling price. If you're comfortable with the selling price, not much you can do to improve the deal.

Mountain States Toyota had made a few mistakes with telling me numbers on the 2016 Highlander Limited Platinum with an MSRP of 46515.00, so that's why I am second guessing things.

Early on the dealer said that our original cap cost was $40,068.00 but now it changed somehow Now, the selling price is 41,418 and our payment stays at 450.00 with tax. We are good with the money factor if that's what is quoted in the region for 720+ Fico's.

Is there anything wrong with that equation?

Using your MSRP and negotiated sale price, I get $336/mo with 7% tax.

Find out what the net cap cost is - if higher than the selling price, ask the dealer what they've added to it.

Did the money factor go up in Metro Denver to .00200 for tier 1 credit scores? A dealer showed us a paper in the end of January and it stated that Toyota's money factor for customers with a 760+ credit score is .00200. What is odd about that is other dealers are keeping it to .00190. Who do I believe?

Other dealers in metro Denver are showing .00190? If so, you should make a deal with one of those and blow off the dealer showing the .00200 MF.

Just leased a 2016 Gray Toyota Highlander LE Plus Monday and would like to know if we got a good deal in Seattle, WA. Husband had 735 score and I had 733. $36,904 MSRP and we negotiated for $35,200 plus the $650 acq fee and 150 doc fee. Got back a money factor of .00265 and I said that was high for our credit scores and tried to negotiate but they wouldn't budge saying it was set. Residual was $25,464.

What payment did you end up with? Isn't tax something like 9-10% there?

I traded in my Toyota Corolla for $6000. $2638 went to payoff leaving $3362. $2785.83 was capitalized cost reduction, $353.17 first monthly payment,$223 license fees. I then have 16 payments at $353.17 and then 19 payments at $388.13. Tax here is 9.8%.

What payment is the dealer quoting?

We don't have any 2015 lease information, for Toyota.

I would think there should be some discount from the sticker price (you said MSRP was also $36,750).
