Purchased a 2003 EX-L, paid 22,900. Can't describe how nice the car is. Very quiet, not bad power, Very happy. Cleveland Ohio dealer.
Very glad I waited for the 2003.

I paid $23,991 for my 03 EX-V-6 in Noble Green.
This was unusual price due to my long term relationship with the dealer.
This was only available for pre 9 Sep orders--so I ordered mine on 22 July from first allocation.
Dealer now discounts all 4 bangers $1000 with no negotiation. markroberts.com Bartlesville OK

My local dealer here in Vermont offered a 4-year lease with 48K miles on the 2003 EX 4-door with leather for 307 a month and 2000 down. I have a 1998 Accord EX so my wife and I shall now have his and her's Accords. The new Accord is much quieter and smoother than the 1998 -- also seems a little bigger. The '98 always had too much wind noise.
The only things the 2003 it lacks are1.memory controls(his and her settings) for the seats that "luxury cars" have 2. a bigger trunk and 3.a compass -- has anybody had any luck installing an after market compass?
Other than that the car feels like luxury car.

I have been around a bit(3 dealers) and have battled the price of the EX V6 sedan down to $25000 + T/T. I am looking to go lower, but no one seems to be budging quite yet. Most started at MSRP or $200 below ($26,200). If I can get $24,750, I would be happy at this point....though I am not sure how long it will take the prices to drop...

    Any tips on negotiating lower?
  • mrchrismrchris Member Posts: 3
The compass comes on the Auto day/night rear view mirror. I believe it MSRPs for around $250 and it auto-dims at night to reduce the reflection of headlights.

2002 Honda Accord EX-V6 in Green for 22,000 with the usual amenities (no options--all comes included)?

What do you think? I need some advice!

I've seen them go for less, but that was a month ago. Supplies are drying up. It may be the best you can do where you live.

Am looking for advice about price breakdown, incentives etc in buying a 2002 Accord EX in Nashville TN area. Seems only 3 Honda dealers here so not much choice around. Where should I start to negotiate, from below the TMV? ($21765 for 2002 Accord 4dr EX w/leather Auto). Any doc fees, ad fees, other hidden catches someone may have experienced? Thanks a ton..
  • raybearraybear Member Posts: 1,795
Offer below invoice, at least -$1250 on the first round. Have them include an amount equivalent to the doc fee as an additional discount.
  • tintinntintinn Member Posts: 9
The dealer showed me a used 2002 EX V6 leather Auto with 5700miles on it. the owner bought it last year and traded for a new model lately. Looks good, drives good. except a little paint scratch at bottom of front bumper.

He asked for $20990 and said he may cut off to $20000. Is this a good deal?
  • markz2kmarkz2k Member Posts: 112
No, not really a good deal. In this area at least, you can still get a new '02 EXV6 for under (slightly) $21,000. That's with no scratches, and the full warranty. Tell them you'll consider $19,000 for the used one.

My 23 yr old niece is looking at a new 2002 2-door EXV6. Any current pricing / incentive info. on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking for a 02 Accord Coupe EX 4 cylinder w/leather (seen prices here for 18,500), and a 02 CRV EX automatic(got offered 21,100). The CRV is hella practical but the coupe is fun to drive. Anyway, was just wondering what incentives the dealers are still getting. I was told that Honda offers financing of 4.25 for 02 and 4.75 for 03. Any info appreciated
  • irish24irish24 Member Posts: 43
saw ads in today's paper...The Htfd Courant talking about 3.99 for 60 mos on the 02's and 03's...says this weekend only....they had lower rates for some others but can't rem what they were for. we did a 4.75 for 60 mos in July on an 02. I'd check your local papers to see if the rates are lowere than you have been quoted.
  • magicomagico Member Posts: 40
    Irish24

I call the dealer and was told that it may or may not be extended and that the interest rates would be about 6 or 7 percent. Seems kind of high to me

    Preludexl,

What state do you live in. The best price on an Accord SE coupe that I got in CT was $18,400. Are the EX's running that low.
  • irish24irish24 Member Posts: 43
What? Still looking? just kidding....for us, I considered PRICE negotiations and FINANCE negotiations separate deals in my head in the initial stages....then considered the whole pkg as the bottome line price.

I would look at what kind of advertised financing deals are out there at honda dealers before I went to a dealer...low rates...for 24 mos. isn't always practical...so if you need a 60 mos loan look at those rates... I would decide first on the price of the car and then look at options for financing. I read one article recently that said...people who were getting low interest financing were often not negotiating the best price deals.

But there is no way I'd pay 6 or 7% interest rate in today's market if I had good credit. Interest rates have come down since summer, so I would call their bluff on that one and not let that be a consideration. Or look into financing somewhere else. When you find what you are looking for at the price you want to pay..they aren't going to want to lose the deal over financing if you are that close...they make $ off of that too. So, IMO
time is on your side and w the economy tanking, things are only going to get better for buyers.

    I am able to get an 03 EX-L V6 for $23,700.00
Can anyone do Better? Please let me know If this is the best price around. Doc fees (all inclusive)around $240. This includes sticker, plates, etc

    Thank you
  • sedancarsedancar Member Posts: 3
It seems to be a good price. I went to a Honda dealer yesterday for the LX-V6 and the price was $22,760, plus tax and everything else it ends up at $24,139. That is why I said $23,700 is a good price for the EX-V6. By the way where do you get this price?
    Thanks,
  • dougshondadougshonda Member Posts: 3
Thanks to the person who pointed out that one can get a compass in an Accord -- turns out its a dealer-installed accessory that comes as part of a auto dimming rear view mirror -- it does list for an outrageous $250 but the dealer gave me a much better price. Of course you can buy a very nice after market digital compass for about $50 and put in in yourself in 15 mins

    To Wingnutdave,

Was that price for a 4 or 6 cyl??

hey, i'm considering the 03 accord ex-v6, how low has anyone gotten them for? has anyone found any good deal in southeastern PA or southern NJ? thanks in advance!
  • magicomagico Member Posts: 40
Thanks, Yes I am still looking I wanted to pay off my loan on another vehicle, before I bought another car. I am going to the dealer's Monday to see if they still have the 02 Accord SE. I will buy it if I can get it for around $18,400 and at least 4.25 financing, If not then I may be looking at the 03 Honda Civic EX coupe.

I made a deal last Thursday on an Accord LX-V6 4 door. The price was $22,600.
I went to Chase on-line an applied for a car loan Thursday night.I got approval Friday morning about 9 A. M.
The manager told me they would match the interest rate from the bank. I went back on Saturday to see the finance person. I will see this deal when I pick up the papers next Wednesday.
I only went in for service of my old Honda on Thursday and bought a car.
If you can not get a good deal on the car. Get a good deal on the loan.

I just test drove one and it seem like it had no power. My friend was with me and he also notice how sluggish it was. I don't know if it was just that car. It had 189 miles on it when I took it out off the dealer lot. There was a grinding noise when I release the brakes. I really like the Accord Coupe but I may end up with a 03 Civic EX automatic. Does anyone have a Accord 4 cylinder and what did you think of the power. I could have got the car for about $18,400
  • dabtijdabtij Member Posts: 20
I test drove both the V6 and V4 yesterday. The V6 has awesome power while I found the V4 to be very noisy and it had a distinct tinny sound. The V4 has some pep, but if you really want a V4, I'd go with the Altima's 4.

By the way, I have an offer by the dealer: $500 over invoice for the LX-V6. So $21,659 is the total before tax. I'm thinking that's a good deal, since to get the Altima V6 with like options would cost probably 3K-4K more (and the premium fuel requirement and lower gas mileage on the Altima). Any comments?

You mentioned you are paying for an LX auto w/ SRS for $18888 plus tax, title, and $25 processing, but here's the invoice on the car: Accord LX S-SRS
    Manual - Retail $19,450 | Invoice $17,508.43
    Automatic - Retail $20,250 | Invoice $18,227.34

Then add $460 for destination and handling. Did you get that price PLUS $460? If so, that's a good deal still. That's there biggest seller though, and most produced. I'd try for $500 over invoice. $500 over is plenty of profit for a 400,000 car aspirations. This is not a limited production vehicle to demand more. also, they get 3% dealer holdback on top of the $500. that's enough.
  • john284john284 Member Posts: 71
    $19999.65 out of door!
I got $201 over invoice (destination already included)
  • john284john284 Member Posts: 71
besides, the dealer gave me a plate on the spot, so no flying paper hanging in the back, no trip back to dealership to pick up new plate, although we did go back the second day to cancel the extend warranty.
  • john284john284 Member Posts: 71
    The joke was:
I tried to give the salesman 35 cents to make it even (20 grand).

    Any takers?
  • john284john284 Member Posts: 71
If the joke didn't work, let me try again:
the dealer ended up charging me $35 more processing fee for doing the financing with them, so I passed the 20 grand mark just like that, and
I did try to persuade them that the processing fee should really be 35 cents, but they said I already gave that to the salesman...
  • john284john284 Member Posts: 71
The dealer matched the 4.99 percent rate from our credit union, so save us a bit of leg work and time(sunday the credit union is closed).

has anybody gotten a good deal in the NYC area? I am waiting for the supply to increase before I go buying. I'm going to some dealerships, but a few recommended dealers would be helpful. Thanks!

I finally took delivery of my new Accord. I paid 23750$ and they threw in a wind deflector, ETCH and muds ( no ohter fees added). I think I was really lucky to get if for this price. Dealership is in North Carolina.
  • fanbeltfanbelt Member Posts: 5
My new (though built in March) 2002 4cyl sedan was delivered on Sept 20 for $17,999. I spent an extra $400 for accessories and installation (1.5 hr) (Leather Wheel (not the wrap), Leather shift knob, cargo net, winter mats, trunk liner and ski bag) at 10% over dealer cost. The only additional charges were tax, title and a $20 doc fee. Financing was 4.25% for 60 months. The dealership is an hour north of NYC.

I've been buying and driving used cars for 20 years - this was my first new car purchase.

  • preludexlpreludexl Member Posts: 33
Hey which dealership in Boulder Colorado did you buy your 03 EX-L from? $22,600 looks pretty good. Anyone get a good price on a V6? I test drove one today....had a lot of oomph but the ride wasnt that nice. I test drove a 02 V6 Passat and so far no japanese car can match it. Damn shame it isnt as dependable as a japanese car.

Try Route 22 Honda in Hillside, NJ 07205 (6-9 miles from Holland Tunnel).

We are getting our red 2003 Accord EX V6 sedan for $24,750 (includes dimming mirror with compass) + tax + $99 reg/lic + $199 doc fees.
I brought CarsDirect printout with Southern NJ (zip: 08701;$24,624) numbers and they matched the price.
Ask for Mateo - nice, old Italian guy. No pushy tactic, very little BS. Our negotiations took 10-15 min.
    Good luck!

I just leased a 2003 4 cylinder EXL. i signed the lease a week ago and they are still waiting for car delivery. I wanted the black, but that only came with the white interior which to me is too difficult to maintain, as well as ugly. i decided to get the graphite pearl color. how long have you all had to wait for delivery? I paid nothing down and 289 a month for 39 months.
  • maxpower02maxpower02 Member Posts: 103
Starting to shop in a few weeks so I'll try them first. You got a great deal for this area and good luck with the new car. I'm also looking for a EXV6 sedan, I like the graphite, wife likes the red.

    $26,355.00-Total retail price

Are people paying full MSRP for this vehicle? Thanks in advance!

Got a quote directly for 2003. LX. V6 with 500 above invoice. How much can I expect to pay? Any suggestions for negotiations?

Seems someone is getting invoice price for 03.LX.V6. Could you share your experience with me?
  • preludexlpreludexl Member Posts: 33
The 03 coupe looks sweet and has the newer ivtec engine versus the v6's last generation engine punched up a notch to 20% increase in horseys. I think I'll go for the v4 vs the v6. Anyone able to get it for invoice or $200-300 above invoice yet? Also, those new accords dont sell much. I saw one today on the road, and it was a 4 door.

    These acronyms are confusing.

We're looking to buy an EX-V6 Sedan. Has anyone done better on price than "andyrus"?
