    Hi S,

Yes, the LX and EX are both automatic. The EX was silver, LX is gold/tan interior. However, Wolfchase said that price could be applied to any LX on the lot (they have several blue, white, gold, graphite, and a couple of green and blacks in stock... only color I didn't see in LX was red).

    Cheers, MG

Residual is $14230 and fee for extra mile is 15 cents, though I don't drive hardly enough to go over (thankfully!)
  • lojefflojeff Member Posts: 29
Early this month, when 2.9% was still avail, I was quoted 17,800 + dmv+tax+100 doc fees. Today, I got a call back for 17k. Any thoughts? Should I take it? Anyone have a quote for a EX with MT?
  • accordex4meaccordex4me Member Posts: 5
On 6/29 I bought an EX MT w/o leather, $19000.00 + TTL, including destination. Total was $20,210 OTD. I had been previously looking into an LX, and was quoted as low as $16800 including destination, + TTL. 17K sounds like a really good deal. $200 difference isn't that big of a deal, especially if they have the color you want, etc.

But if you could swing it, I definitely recommend the EX over the LX. The roof, cd changer, body color moldings, alloys, and power driver seat height adjustment, as well as the wheel mounted stereo controls, are all definitely worth the extra 2K if you're into those things. If not, the LX is technically the same car if you take out the rear drum brakes (the EX uses disc brakes).
  • lojefflojeff Member Posts: 29
Thanks for the info. It sounds like you got quoted 16800 + option of 2.9% financing which was still avail the end of June. Who knows what financing they can provide today.

As for EX vs LX, I really have zero use for the sunroof. I just don't like them. I had one in my car for the last 5 years and I had it open maybe 10 times. That being said, I am still considering the EX. I really like the idea of larger tires, rear disk brakes and alloyed wheels. The wheel mounted controls, cd changer and power height adj are nice too but less important. Taking my sunroof comments into consideration, is it worth the extra 2k? Any other differences? What body color moldings are you talking about?

    Thanks for your help!!

That sounds like a really good deal! What part of the country are you in that you are getting such good deals? I am in the Midwest. I am in the market for an Accord LX MT w/ alloy wheels and wing spoiler. The best I have found so far is $18,500 + doc fee($179.95) + TTL. ( 7% tax). When this dealer came to me with this deal you would have thought that he didn't want to sell the car because the price was so low. I was tempted to ask him. I have not bought yet because I wanted to see what the end of the month would bring though I thought this was a good deal. However, after seeing some of the OTD prices listed on this forum I am beginning to wonder about my deal. What do you think think of this deal? With the options is it worth it or should I keep negotiating?
  • savagekei05savagekei05 Member Posts: 29
So............i went to a dealer that give me 22000 for the V6 LX auto and 24500 for the V6 EX, the EX one come with mud guards, trunklayer, tie locks, pin, 300$ shop for car accessaries, Is that a good deal for it? but the end of 2005 season, it should be more cheaper than that!? any opinion w/ be very lovely :D
  • lojefflojeff Member Posts: 29
I'm in NJ. The 17k includes dest but need to add doc fees, dmv and tax. I really don't think you are comparing like cars. The alloy wheels are a pretty expensive option on the LX. (not sure what the spoiler is worth) I have not see any LX with alloy wheels. I would think if you are willing to spend that much on the wheels, you would add a bit more for the EX.
  • ashahashah Member Posts: 3
I am also in NJ. I am planning to buy an Accord LX in this week. Where did u get such a deal? Sounds like a great deal to me..
  • jonnybravojonnybravo Member Posts: 3
One dealer wanted $539 for the spoiler. He also wanted me to add that to $18600 for the LX and Alloys. So, when this other guy said $18500 with the Spoiler and rims, I thought maybe it was a good deal. BTW the wheels listed initially for $1200. There is, of course, a considerable amount of markup in accessories so the initial price is only a starting place and I bargained the deal as a package so could not tell you the actual price for the wheels and spoiler. I was hoping that there would be someone out there that may have a similar car or at least some advice on this deal.

We looked at this car and were quoted $23,926 + ttl (in MN metro) for a total of $25881. Is this pretty good or should we keep shopping? :)
  • savagekei05savagekei05 Member Posts: 29
LOL, you should have read my price b4 posting, i got a quote OTD for 24500, so u think urs is a pretty good price! join the keep shopping gangsters!
  • tmoney310tmoney310 Member Posts: 1
I paid $21,000 + TTL for a 4cyl. EX sedan at Gardena Honda in So. California. Sales Tax here is 8.25%. I'm not sure if I shamefully paid too much, but I figured I'd post it anyway... (The V6 will definately be in my next car, but I'm in L.A. and most of the time I'm just sitting in traffic so the better MPG and comfort was more important. Good Luck.

Just an observation here, but I'm starting to see prices creep upward from where they were a couple of months ago.

Maybe incentives from Honda to its dealers are less now--I have no idea. But it's likely that panic, year-end buying is firming up prices.

Those of you who wait about 5 weeks will probably be able to buy a new, 2006 Accord for not much more than you're paying for an '05 that will be a full model year old shortly after you take delivery. Whatever you do to save money now will be lost in resale if you sell or trade the car before the wheels fall off.

Do yourself a favor and forget the urge to get a great deal on an '05--you'll be able to get a decent deal on an '06 and have the newest Accord for a full year longer............Richard

    anyone agree?
  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
Resale value 7 years out (the typical length a person keeps the car) will not be influenced much. The condition and milage of the car will be more important than the MY.

The only reason to wait is for some new feature or the exterior re-styling. Between the expected 300-500 MSRP increase of the 06 MY and the lack of FTD incentives (I assume there won't be any for the first few months), I'd expect the real price to go up by at least 1500.

I am trying to help a 16 year old, who has $2,000 to put into a car, buy a used high mileage Honda. I don't want to go over 150,000 miles. With a high mileage car, I would not consider anything but a Honda or Toyota. The Honda is the favorite choice. I know they exist. The dealer from whom I purchased my new Accord in April sold a 150,000 miles 92 Accord yesterday just before I arrived there for $2200. Does anyone have ideas as to where the best place is to look? I have gone to the Honda dealers in my area and given my name and phone number in case a trade comes in like that. I am leery of the "mom and pop" dealerships. I am in the Nashville area, but we can travel within 500 miles. Thanks in advance for your replies.

so how's your deal going? getting good deal on Jim Coleman? if u do, i will drive up there tomorrow
  • jluedejluede Member Posts: 33
I think you might have overpaid somewhat. I bought the same car at the end of May in Texas (which seemed to have a comparable market to So. Cal at the time) for $19,900 +TTL.

Were there any accessories included in the deal? Also depends on when you bought. It sounds like the really great deals might be getting harder to find. Regardless, it's still below invoice so in the long run its nothing to lose sleep over.

IMO you could probably have bought this car for about $1,000 less in So. Cal. I bought the same car in May for $20,000 before TTL and $21,800 OTD. More than one dealer in the LA area were offering this price. Next time you should research this forum BEFORE you purchase your car. Since you already purchased your Accord, just enjoy it. It's a great car! :)
  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
You are doing the right thing trying to get a trade BEFORE the dealer gets it. On car at that price point I'd venture to guess any dealer will double the price of the car if they are going to resell it themselves.
Look at the usual places like the local paper, autotrader and ebay and just wait - there's lots of those available.

    Hello

I was looking into buying an accord ex/L/auto in the next few months. However I was curious as to if i should wait for the 06 models to come out since there may or may not be that big a difference in price. Does anyone know what the 06 models have that are different than the 05's? Thanks

I am in RTP area (Durham), NC. I am planning to buy a 2005 accord LX sedan, 4 cyl, auto trans, w/o PZEV. Two local dealers (Crown and Leith Honda) quoted me similar internet price, $ 18200 + tax + $ 62 title fee + $398 documentation Fee. How about this price? any opinion w/ be appreciated. It is my first time to buy a new one.

I just drove one home last night for 22,945 otd price 25,100. Black with black leather trim.

I love it more than anything. Got it from Sierra Honda in Monrovia, CA. Great experience, no pressure. Orginally got a quote from them on Cars.com and I called around. Was able to fax them all the papers while I was at work, after work, I went by signed and drove off. No pressure to buy anything extra. Within 30 minutes I had the keys and it was exactly as promised. I had actaully test driven it a few days earlier, of course I drove it again before I signed the paperwork :D

Seems like a good deal . I was quoted` Your Internet Price $18,534 plus $299 Doc fee and Tax & Tag` at dickbrookshonda in North Carolina . I wonder if any of the dealers around NC are offering them for less than 18K . The only thing putting me off buying one is that the Camrys LE with the big rebate here of 1,500 seem to be nearly 2,000 less which seems quite a high premium for the accord even with side air bags extra for the Honda .

    Memphis guys -

QuicK question...Just to confirm, the TTL was in addition to this $17800 price for LX AUTO right?
  • babydocbabydoc Member Posts: 20
Don't know if this is the right place, but just got a quote from a dealer in the midwest for a 2005 Honda EX v6 (no nav) 36 month/12k lease for 330/month. Acqu. fee of 500 or so.
Any ideas if this is a good deal. I got another quote from a different dealer who, for the same car, would not budge from 475/month (must be out of their minds- I could lease a G35x for that same price, and there would be no acqu. fees) Go figure.
  • adamhoadamho Member Posts: 32
I'm still holding out. The rep I'm dealing with went down to 21,900 + TTL. Which would bring my total to $23,300. I know that if I wait until past the 18th towards the end of month I can get a better deal. I'm being patient...it's not easy but I know I can save a good bit more by waiting towards end of month. My email is ufcrules1@aol.com if you want more details about the dealership etc.

Today I helped my buddy to buy lx 19000 OTD. He went for 250 for options, and 935 was tax. At NC Tax is less I believe 3.17%. Based on that, you should not pay 18500 OTD.
  • valvvalv Member Posts: 10
I've contacted Jim Coleman last year when I was shopping for my '04 Accord. As any other dealer they tryed to rip me off. The selling price you hear from a scum bag on the lot and internet quote are differ by $1500-2000. Finally bought a car @ NW Honda of Owings Mills for $18500 on the road (including tax, tags and other "gotchas".
  • jmw977jmw977 Member Posts: 3
I understand that there is $750 mfr to dealer cash going on now. What's the usual protocol for negotiating with this type of incentive? I understand that invoice on this car is about 23900. What do you think is a good starting offer? Thanks in advance!
  • valvvalv Member Posts: 10
Push them down to $17.500, including freght. Also you can mention that there will be a brakes recall soon on 4 cyl Acccords, so if they don't want to go down to this price they can seat on it... I'm sure you can find lower price via internet quote. Then print it and ask dealer if they can beat/match it. Usually they do. They still make their buck.
I did exactly that last may and I got it down to $17.400 + $170 for mud guards, total on the road I paid $18.500.
    Good luck

First, you need to do your homework. Make sure you collect as much vital info as you can. Investigate if there are any manufacturer incentives. Remember that dealers not always tell you about those perks.Search recalls info (sometimes it helps to drop a price down). Internet quotes tend to be around 1500 USD lower than ones on the lot. Whatever you find print it, put in the folder and bring it with you. Do not buy at the first dealership. Select one for a "warm up". After such rehearsal you will know in the ball park how far (+/-) the'll go. When you go for a "final", make sure that a salesman writes down a price you agreed upon.(I was in the situation when a scum bag told me one price and when I went to do a papework told me that he's never said that, so I left). Take your time reading trough the fine print. Negotiate interest rate too. They do not advertise that but (depending on your credit rating) you can get a good deal on that.
DO NOT let them BS you into buying something you don't want. Do not hesitate to stop the salesman if you did not understand something he said and ask him to repeat. DO NOT feel rude because you interrupted him. This is a common tactics used to throw you of the track during negotiations.
I once spent 6 hours on the dealership and that poor devil must've thought a couple of times about either shooting me or commiting a suicide. :) But I did get what I want and I feel good about it. I've since bought at least 5 cars for my family and friends and so far no one complained, except may be a salesman, but I do not feel sorry for them.
And remember: you SHOULD be able to get at least $3200-4000 off the sticker price.
It is doable and has been done. Keep your cool and prepare for a hard day.
    Good Luck!

Hello, has anyone received any quotes on Accord V6 w/o navi from Atlanta dealers this month? Or just the EX-L auto w/o navi? I've shopped on carsdirect, and from what it looks like, the better deal appear to be the V6. I'm looking to do a lease, and if money factors and residuals are the same, or even close to each other, I come out with a cheaper payment with the V6. Does anyone have any real experience recently?

Did you pay $20,000 for an Automatic EX 4-cyliinder?

    Was it metallic?

I just got a quote of 20,300 in Norcal for a Satin Silver Metallic Auto.
  • joonjoon Member Posts: 121
Also you can mention that there will be a brakes recall soon on 4 cyl Acccords...

Is this based on fact or just your speculation? Can you direct us to source? Thanks.

Yes, I paid $20,000 for the 2005 EX 4cyl AT graphite pearl in So.Cal, but had a quote for $19,445 (including destination and doc. fee and before TTL) from a Norcal dealer back in May plus another dealer guaranteeing to beat this quote by $100. Ultimately decided that I didn't want to travel to the Bay Area to save the extra money. If you research this forum and go back a couple of months you will see many posts from me and another guy (Phil or "piturra") detailing our experiences and prices, although Phil bought an EX-L 4cyl AT.

I requested quotes from several dealers and AutoWest in Fremont quoted the $19,445. Anderson Honda in Palo Alto send me a higher quote, but had a written guarantee that they would beat any written offers from Bay Area dealers by $100.

    Good luck.

    Hi!

I'll be in LAX region from mid August and am looking to get either an Accord LX or Camry LE.

Just wanted to ask, would the fact that I will be paying in cash give me any negotiating advantage?

Reason I'm paying in cash is because I'm a foreigner and I don't have a credit history in the USA hence it would be impossible to get financing anyway.
  • shilshil Member Posts: 1
Hey, I'm looking to buy an Accord EX w/o navi V6 Coupe in the next month or so in Delaware and needed some opinions on pricing. I was quoted around 24,800 at Price Honda for the car with destination.

It seems a little high, considering carsdirect quotes about 23,800 with destination.

Is it possible to get the car OTD under 24,000, and would kinda price range should I bargain to get?
    Thanks

  • biker4biker4 Member Posts: 746
There's no such thing as being impossible to get financing - there's always someone out there trying to lend money - you'll just have to pay extra for it. Trust me, as soon as you try to finalize the deal on the car the salesman will want to shuffle you into the finance office and they'll find someone to lend you the money - that's how dealers make some money back lost on the price of the car.

Don't mention financing till after you negotiated the price. If the dealer thinks you might finance the car he might give you a bigger discount (thinking he might make some money on the financing) - if he knows you're paying cash he might not.

Have you already bought the Camry LE? Could you please let me know where and at what price? Thanks a lot.
  • kah4kah4 Member Posts: 2
Dealer here offered me $17K flat OTD, including all taxes, etc. (in Maryland). Is this decent or could it be lower considering 2006s come out shortly? How is resale on the value pkg. models (no cruise control, no intermittent wiper, manual locks, automatic transmission)? Any one think I could get an LX manual or auto in the 17-18k range? Thanks!
  • mldj98mldj98 Member Posts: 378
get the LX for sure...the price difference is so minimum...and if and when you go to sell it allot more people will want it as opposed to the VP...I think now a days the least people want on their cars is pw, pdl, cruise, a/c, auto trans....that is the basics...and yes...you can get one easy for 17-18K range....some factors include where you live...and if you willing to take a mini-road trip to save some big$$$...
    Good Luck!
