I can't suggest a dealer to you, since I am located in the Birmingham, Alabama area. I CAN tell you that the 4-cyl has more than plenty of power for me, and I'm a "dang-blasted" young guy. (NOTE: The 4-cylinder Accords now make as much horsepower as the 1997 V-6 Accords did)
I have a 1996 Accord with just 130 horsepower, and moving into my new car with 36 more makes it feel like a rocket! You will never be in need of more power, IMO.
Don't forget the price savings of I-4 vs. V-6, including the mileage (I got 37mpg on a flat highway trip last week, my highest ever). The V-6 is rated for 20/29 mpg, versus 24/34 for the I-4 Auto (26/34 for the manual transmission).
Also, the tires are larger on the V-6 models, making them more expensive to replace (17 inches on the V-6 versus 16s on the I-4).
For my 2006 EX 4-cyl cloth, with Automatic, we got exactly blue book on our trade in (I brought the page to the dealer, and it matched what they offered within $400). My car, which listed for $23,800, was $21,200+tax+title etc...
Go for the 4-cylinder model, you'll be pleasantly surprised! (also, you can get leather and the interior features of the EX V-6 on your 4-cylinder, just ask to see an EX-L).
I just saw the front end styling to come on the new Camry. After I threw up in my mouth, I decided that it looks like a wrecked Mazda 3 on the front with pudgy styling for the rest of the car. The sinewy lines of the Avalon are gone, in favor of this bloated Camry.
...while both the V-6 and I4 are great engines, I wouldn't sell the six short on fuel efficiency.
(See my Gila Bend to Yuma, AZ eye-popping MPG in a previous post covering my two-week Reserve duty last October)
...my V-6 6M coupe has better numbers than my late, lamented '69 CorVette....technology on the march......
best, ez.....
BTW, Honda added a moonroof in 2006 LX V6. So I guess now one has to peek inside the car to check for leather.
Any idea why the LX-V6 are few and far between?
Even at the dealership I saw that they had tens of EX-V6 and just 3-4 LX-V6 in stock.
I'm surprised your dealer had three of them... Most dealers have one or two at the most..

Thanks.
C'mon Honda. Your redesign of the Civic is awesome. The Accord needs help fast. Its losing huge market share. Sales were down 30% in December!
based on looking at some dealers on the internet bernardi in natick seems to carry a large inventory as well (I'm looking into an EX V6 MT and they had more than any other I checked out on the lot)
Good luck on your pricing! I got my I-4 AT for $2,100 off of sticker price, or $21,700 (mine was an upper level EX, though).
I'm lookn at an 06 Accord EX-L w/4 cyl, automatic...tossing around the idea of nav or not. I reside in central NC and there are 5 dealers within 30 minutes of High Point. The two I've found are both the new carbon bronze color...one is non-nav/blk interior & nav. w/ivory.
There have been postings of 1K & 2K below invoice
where is the profit at these NJ dealers? NY?
The NC dealers have a GLUT of Accords....I just wonder what happens when the new Camry is released? However, I'm in an urgent situation...my pay source is cash (chk from my CU) and no trade (I want it to be as simple as possible) My 01 Jetta Turbo w/ 101K miles have served me well and I need something bigger. The Passat & Jetta are not the value I perceive.
Any guidance?
......yes, it is (saw one earlier in Carmichael)
2005 TW EX V-6 Coupe 6MT
(great cars;06 gets VSC)
I am specifically inclined towards LX (I-4). How much off the invoice should I start bargaining for?
I am an Accord fan but the value that the Sonata is intriuging...warranty, performance, if not for so so styling (Only to get better each year) is swaying buyers quickly.
Good hunting...please let us know how you make out.
For your LX, the sticker price is $20,825. Invoice is $18,749. I would definitlely start at 18,5 or lower, and see what they said. I think the dealer and I met in the middle at 21,700 after I suggested the invoice price on the nose, he suggested that he could swing $22,500. I was pleased, because, this isn't the lowest I could have gotten in my area, but the dealer treats customers with nothing but respect, and doesen't try playing games with numbers (pinstriping, extra warranties, etc...) If you get your LX for $19,000 and you like your dealer, you've done VERY well.
$17 953 including transportation.

Where are these 24000 prices coming from?
would anyone know how to contact honda america's survey deptt. i do see their toll free no on the website but not sure if that is the survey 'deptt'.
i bought a accord and was contacted by honda america customer survey deptt. i think i was less than fair to the salesman i bought the car from. didnt relaise his bonus depends on my feedback. i wanted to contact honda america and take the survey again.
anything to put a smile back on the guy's face. he even came on his day off so i could get the car on the day i wanted.
any help is appreciated.
thanks.
ps- i paid 23,500 +dest+ ttl for 2006 Accord EX V6. plus a bunch of freebies. Had posted the details of my deal a few days back.
I would be thrilled to get that price on mine.
Thanks for the reply.
Is such a deal possible in VA, MD, or NC?
If you can please let me know what dealership you used and where the dealership is located.
The best quote I have received to date on the 06 EX-L 4cyl with AT and satelite radio (including destination charge of $550, and dealer supplied protection package (mudflaps, trunk protector, wheellocks, etc.) is $24,000.
If I can save $1,000, get free tires and a 100,000 mile warranty would be willing to travel.
Please advise all details that you can.
Here is what I have learned from my shopping experience: If you do not like haggling and you still want to pay good price ask for online quotes from all the dealers around your area. Most might only quote a base price. Follow up by asking the out the door price. If they are not willing to give you a clear out the door price I would drop those dealers because that would mean you will have to go in and haggle for the out the door price. One dealer gave me a super low base price but when I went in they wanted ~$1900 for what they called their “protection package” after 3 hours of haggling they were still trying to make me pay more than out the door quotes I received elsewhere .
I've never heard or read of a dealer offering to replace a set of tires for free after you've worn them out. Now you are looking for a dealer to replace two sets of worn out tires for free? That is a completely unrealistic expectation in any state.
The 100K mile extended warranty that you are seeking is a separate transaction. If you don't like your dealer's price, you should be able to buy one online for under $900.
Sticker was $21250 or so?
Great deal. Even with holdback dealer appears to have made zero. There must be volume incentives going on.
Did my research (thanks to a lot of people here) and went in planning to but an SE sedan. Brought my internet prices and quotes from dealers.
Unfortunately, Honda forgot to mention (on their website) that the Bronze is only available in an EX.
Ended up with a EX Sedan, I-4, AT, mud flaps and wheel locks for $21,300 plus $339 dealer fee & TTL. MSRP was $24080 (with mudflaps & wheel locks installed). Invoice was $21,487 plus $215 for installed options.
Hated the dealer fee but they wouldn't budge off that.
Very nice experience compared to some other dealers we dealt with.
Finance even matched the 7/100/$0 EW prices I pulled from the internet.
BTW, they have a quick lube area built-in with $10 oil changes. In & out in less than 30 minutes....
This is the price for the car only... no options...
What do you guys think?
pulled the price from carsdirect...
OTD price really doesn't help most people unless they're in NC.
If you're willing to step into an SE sedan I-4 AT, the price was $19678, plus dealer fee of $399, plus NC TTL. This was our original deal, but we wanted the Carbon Bronze Pearl, only available in the EX. Would never have moved to the EX if it wasn't for the color.
I will say, that after only getting to drive minimal miles (about 50 on the car now) it rides as quiet as the Avalon we tested on Saturday.
BTW, anyone looking to buy a Toyota product needs to check out dealers in the DC area. We were getting prices ~$1000 less than anything we could find in NC. Fitzgerald was by far the best price and they post everything on their internet site. Wish they sold Honda's.
Good luck !
BTW, I got the 7yr/100k/$0 deductible HondaCare Extended warranty for $895.
Thanks for your reply. Please review Post # 10416.
The deal that "dealhound" received does indeed appear to be unrealistic; but, if it can be had, I would like to get a similar deal.
You may not have ever heard of a dealer giving away two sets of tires with a deal; but I have.
There is a Virginia new car dealer (does NOT sell Honda)that regularly advertises "free tires for life" with the purchase of the dealer's new cars.
When dealhound sees our responses to his original post # 10416, I hope he will advise the name of his dealer and where the dealer is located.
Note, that according to dealhound, his dealer also gave up an Extended Warranty at no cost to dealhound.
Normally, I would not worry about an extended warranty for a new Honda; but, if I can get such a "FREE" warranty and get the car close to the price that dealhound paid, I will happily make my purchase sooner rather than later.

You mention that a post by dealhound discussed a deal in which he/she received free tires and a free extended warranty. I just did a search of all Edmunds forums and only found one posting by a dealhound, in a VW Passat forum here dealhound, "Volkswagen Passat: Prices Paid & Buying Experience" #2741, 21 Sep 2005 9:50 pm. There was no reference to tires or warranty there. Clicking on his/her profile indicates that it was the only post ever made by dealhound in these forums. Please clarify where you may have read that.
I'm trying to get an offer of 21,400 with the following included...
Rear spoiler ($499 advertised on Honda website)
Body side molding ($130 advertised on Honda website)
Door Visor ($99 advertised on Honda website)
Premium Floor Mats ($79 advertised on Honda website)
Does anyone think I would be able to get this car with all these accessories included for $21,400, or am I insane?
I missed the deal as I just bought my car, but wanted to help some of you who may still be shopping. If I get specific $$'s will update this post.
Good luck !!
Steve, it may be helpful if you got back anbd verify the model you're looking for. I had to go check again, but Honda only offers VP, LX, LX-SE, and EX. Are you wanting price info on an LX ?
One small suggestion... check eBay out for Honda accessories. I saw a few spoilers available for much less that Honda's pricing and they state they'll ship it painted to match your car. Same thing with mats. I got mats with my EX sedan and then went to Wally World for a nice aftermarket set to cover those with. $24 for a set of four.
You'd probably be better trying to get the other items from the dealer.
By the way, go go Edmunds.com & kbb.com to get actual invoice pricing for your configuration and then generate an internet pricing request via Edmunds or others. Dealers will email you back specific pricing and you don't even have to visit a dealer until you get it narrowed down.
Good luck.
I then checked with my salesman and he asked around. Stated there were no dealer incentives. Only deal going was the lease deal. I have to believe him since this other dealer won't provide confirmation. Sorry to have started a rumor.
Good luck on your buying experience !
We're loving our Accord more every day.
