Silver 2006 Accord Sedan EX V6 w/ black leather. I want the following accessories included: all weather floor mats, trunk tray, and mud guards.
The best price I have received so far is $24, 800. I figure this is about $24,500 for the car and $300 for the accessories.
What does everyone think of this price? I am ready to pull the trigger but wanted to get a feel from forum on this price.
Thank you, this is a great forum.
Silver may yield a lower price since it is not the most popular color anymore.
I sent e-mails to over a dozen dealers to start the process, then made follow up phone calls to four dealers to negotiate my final price.
It sounds like I may have been able to squeeze another $150 out of them, but the dealer swore he wass only making $350 on the sale. Two other dealers flat out said they did not believe a dealer would sell me the car for that price.
All in all I am happy with the car and I think I got a good price especially for my smaller market (West Virginia).
A big thank you to this forum as it was extremely helpful in determining a target price.
Smaller markets are more difficult to work and you bought in the middle of the month so more kudos to you!
Black: If you live where it doesn't rain a whole lot and you don't mind washing it often, it looks great. You need to be careful about what you use to wash it so that you can minimize swirl marks (same for any dark color). Check out Griot's Garage for excellent products.
Carbon Bronze: I like this color but not with the ivory interior... too hard to keep clean. It also comes in black. To me, it looks like dark grey on cloudy days but you can see the brown tones when the sun is out.
Silver: There are a lot on the road so you won't be as unique. I love the color and am happy to be driving a silver car again. I live in the Pacific NW so it is a great color for around here with the rain.... it hides the dirt well.
If you are looking for the best price, keep your options open and take the one that is the cheapest. If you aren't set on a particular color, you have more leverage.
I agree a black car probably looks the best just after being washed, but I think silver or white hides dirt better so you don't have to wash it as often.
I just got quoted the otd price of 20646.90 for the LX SE (auto)

I'm sure I could put up enough fuss to get it down a little bit lower.
But the guy i've been working with has been very helpful.
I'd rather give him my business than some of the other jerks i've been talking to and emailing in the last few days.
I'll let you guys know what happens.

I have the manual 4 and I'm getting 33-34 after about four tanks. I'm in western Washington so it ain't flat. This is mixed driving with a fair amount of freeway driving but stop and go traffic congestion as well.
According to my calculations, the current price including tax at 6.5% for an 06 EX-V6 is $25,878.44-this is at 0% profit for the dealer after factoring the 3% holdback. I also got the wheel locks and splash guards that were on the car for free (not that i'd want to get them if they weren't). Edmuind's TMV for the EX-V6 is $25,918 before TT&L so i feel pretty good about it. IF you can wait a while longer, you will most likely get a better deal than I did since local dealers are loading up for the summer sales. Definitley go through the internet or sales managers and request final out the door quotes via email. Makes negotiating a breeze.
$17950- price of car w/ floor mats
+ 550- destination

$19989 OTD
I think we did great. I couldn't be happier!
I totally agree with you on being conservative, just didn't follow my own "better judgement" on this purchase. Seems like there's an average 4 MPG difference between the 4 and 6 on average, which translates to about $500 extra a year assuming $3/gal and 60 fillups during the year. I loved both engines and like most people i've spoken to, you can't go wrong with either. If the bulk of my driving would have been in the city as opposed to the turnpike, I would have definitely gotten the 4. Good luck with your purchase. Prices will only go down as the summer approaches (almost bought the EX-L I4 for $24,142 OTD).
I know every GM dealer in the area, but I'm new to Honda so I don't know what it used to be.
I'm curious how people are reporting significantly better MPG than the car's ratings.
Everyone who goes to Bill Page raves about the dealership so they must do something right.
A stanger heard me negotiating price with another dealer and said I "had to" check-out Bill Page. Said it was his best experience ever with a dealer. In the same day, a few people at work said they bought there and will remain customers for life. They claim the service department is amazing. If you are in Northern Virginia check them out and report back please.
I need help to know if i got a good deal on a new 4cyl 2006 Honda Accord EX-L with Navi. It's a silver exterior with dark leather interior and i got it from Bernardi Honda in Natick, MA at $23,900(including destination charge) excluding sales tax plus other dealership fees which would total $1582.
I'm planning to finance the payment since i'm not trading any car in.
I'm totally new to the game as this is the first car i'm purchasing so i'd really appreciate any reviews. Thanks!
If you like the car, and what's not to like, buy it and enjoy.
Let us know.
