I saw in the Tribune an ad for a 2006 Accord LX at the Elmhurst dealership. $17,750. From the messages I've seen most people have paid more than this. Does anyone have any info or experience with this dealership or has anyone paid less than this?

I hate OpenRoad. I have been dealing with Clinton Honda. Much nicer place. I got the same internet quote for the EX V6 from OpenRoad. I am bringing that to Clinton this weekend and see if they will match it. The original quote I received from Clinton was $500 over invoice...that was before I knew there was a $750 dealer incentive for every sedan they sell.

Well, i guess it depends what you are comfortable with.
But yes, I have been going by the kbb trade-in value.
My car was/is in good condition, but I knew if anything they would try to do "fair" value. OpenRoad Honda was way below "fair" kbb value. Acura dealer was in between "fair" and "good" value so I chose them.
  • dd123dd123 Member Posts: 53
Just wondering since I have almost a new car ( 11 months old )
I think it should be kbb excellent condition since the condition is like new

    Thanks
  • jworthingtonjworthington Member Posts: 42
    You would think.

I would be willing to bet that if you buy a car from a dealer, pull of the lot, and drive to another dealer down the street they will still refuse to give you an Excellent rating on the KBB quality.

    Hi
The best quote so far I got for accord se auto is 18800
Is is a good deal in SoCal

    Thanks
  • tasaytasay Member Posts: 36
is that include destination? the quote is +dest+ttl?

    Thanks.
  • mfletou1mfletou1 Member Posts: 508
with destination not being included in quotes.

I'm a GM guy who has bought a whole bunch of GM vehicles. The EX V6 prices have me interested in Accords so I'm shopping them, but I'm rather appalled at Honda dealers so far. Maybe they can get away with more because their product is so stellar, but GM dealers were WAY WAY easier to deal with, and not just because they were shoveling discounts the customers way. Just basically more honest, less hidden charges, tricks, etc.
  • dd123dd123 Member Posts: 53
The quote is 18,823 which includes destination only.

Sorry for not so obvious price

So it would be 18823 + TTL

    Is it a good deal?

    Thanks
  • tinatinatinatina Member Posts: 388
Yeah, I know the feeling about those dealerships and treatment. You may want to deal directly with an Internet/Fleet Manager and bypass the B.S. of a salesperson at those dealerships. I had a really good experience at my local Honda dealership when dealing directly with the Internet Manager. In contrast, one of the worst experiences was at a local Toyota dealership, which had to correct paper work 3 times, and I had to get the Manager involved.

The EX V6 Prices are great. Best of luck.
  • tasaytasay Member Posts: 36
that would be a great deal. I am in Dallas, texas and I can only get the cheapest rate so far is 18550+ttl. That's the quote on the Accord SE 4cyclinders Manual Tranny. If you got your price with AT then that would be great price. I am waiting till the memorial weekend to see if there is any changes price.

    Thanks.
  • dd123dd123 Member Posts: 53
I think 18820 is a decent deal for auto se accord
pPeople are getting better deal than this anyway

I moved to San Diego for a new job from Dallas and man i am missing dallas

    i like texas a lot
  • tankmastertankmaster Member Posts: 20

With the new $750 marketing support incentive, has anyone bought or heard of getting an EX-L auto, 4cyl sedan with an MSRP of $25,500 for $22,000 or less plus TTL?

    Thank you!
  • tasaytasay Member Posts: 36
    Jay,
Where do U get 17835? I wish I can get that price in dallas texas. But can't...lowest I can get is 18550. Honda Eagle quote me 19400+ with tint, wheel lock, trunk. They do not go down any further. The quote I got 18550 was from Honda in Mckinney.

sf bay area...prices are well below $22k for ex-l automatic 4 cylinder. ended with with about 5 dealers at or below $22k without any negotiations. best initial offer was $21.4k, or about $1600 below invoice. i was surprised at the aggressiveness of the pricing even with the $750...i think with gas prices this high they want to move cars, especially with a new camry out. my problem is i'd prefer to buy a used car, and they don't compete with this sort of pricing. i doubt pricing will get much better than this even at the end of the model year.

I just leased an Accord EX V6 6MT w/o Navi from Stephen Vincel Honda in West St. Louis County for 36 months, 12000 miles a year with zero down, no security deposit.
Payment is $330 including tax and drive-off was $456 (1st payment + tags).

Dealing with their internet department was a pleasure. It took just 3 emails to agree on the conditions (I probably could have gotten them to go a few dollars lower, but I am not a confrontational type - which is why I love internet shopping in the first place) and one short phone call to put a deposit on the car.

I picked the car up the next morning; was in and out of the dealership in less than an hour and this includes a test drive. Dealership personal was very relaxed, no attempt to sell extra stuff whatsoever. Highly recommended!

(P.S.: Huey's Honda quoted almost the same for the lease.)

i'm having a hard time getting comparable prices on an SE in the pacific northwest - nothing under $19200 for an auto yet. apparently there is a regional premium here - carsdirect seems to indicate accords sell for higher here than anywhere else in the country. damn yuppies :P
  • masshass81masshass81 Member Posts: 4
Purchased mine on March 25th for $21,133 (includes destination) + TTL in So Cal. I was also able to get free splash guards and wheel locks. Another dealer offered $20,800 but they were too dogdy on my other questions (VIN, miles on the car, mfg date, color, splash guards, and wheel locks)

BUT don't let them talk you into a pre-installed security system 'upgrade'. It's made by a company name "KARR"... My dealership claimed they needed to install the upgrades on all cars to prevent people from breaking in through the glass (I guess mfg alarm doesn't sound when glass is broken?), but I ended up spending the $$ on it... After going home and looking at the specs, it is not worth it even though they say they'll uninstall it at no charge - they just keep the car for another day, but I wanted it then.

When all is said and done, I <3 this car!

I'm having the same problem with internet quotes in the Pacific Northwest. Best quote I got on a Honda Accord Se Auto is $20,200.00. Seems a little high based upon prior posts for this vehicle. What do you think? Thanks.
  • dd123dd123 Member Posts: 53
    I think its too much
The best i got is 18820 in so cal

    good luck

Even with the phony doc fee, that price is way better than what I can find here in Colorado. Edmunds TMV for this area in about $19,400, but the best I have found is $19,800 + TTL. I would be a buyer at the $18,134 you have been quoted.
  • ja716ja716 Member Posts: 3
Based on reviewing the message board, I requested a price of $23,500 for a new Accord EX V6 at the local dealer. They said no way but came back with $23,800.

Tax is an additional 7 percent
    Title is an additional $110
Price includes mat's and mud flaps.

    Thoughts???
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
Sounds like a pretty great deal to me...I'm assuming no doc fees or extra handling charge?
  • cidercider Member Posts: 1
    Hi guys,

I want to 2006 Accord VP Automatic. The price is good: 16700 + TTL. But the dealer doesn't have the color I want. He agreed to get a right color for me from other dealers. But I need to put some depoit for it first. So shoud I put the deposit and let him get the car for me?
  • jeffw330jeffw330 Member Posts: 13
    zackman 2,

There is a dealership in Eugene, OR where the internet manager should sell you an Accord SE, AT for $19,380 (includes destination charges). I am pretty sure there are at least a few other dealerships that will match this price. May factory to dealer incentives of $750 have gotten the prices pretty attractive.
  • schemerschemer Member Posts: 2
I'm having the same issue here in Portland. I've received two quotes so far. One for $19,938.10 and another for $20,138 and have basically been told that they 'don't have problems' selling Accords in this area. One dealer even told me they don't have problems selling them for sticker price. I balked!
  • tallman1tallman1 Member Posts: 1,874
Portland, OR? I drove down to St. John's Honda to buy mine because they had the color I wanted in an EX-L manual, w/Navi. They wouldn't go lower than 500 over invoice. However, it was exactly what I wanted so I bought it. There were no incentives going on at the time so you should be able to do better now.

Now if I would have settled for something on the lot up here in western Washington, I could have done much better. But I am very happy. :D
  • schemerschemer Member Posts: 2
Yes, Portland, OR. Those quotes were for the Accord LX SE Automatic. I haven't received a quote from St. John's yet. I will check them out, but all of the dealers in this area seem to have a concensus.
  • tallman1tallman1 Member Posts: 1,874
I doubt if St. Johns will be much cheaper.
  • zackman2zackman2 Member Posts: 2
Your quote for $20,138.00 is about the lowest quote I got up here in Washington for the 2006 Accord SE Auto. I've been quoted as high as $20,900.00. No way on that one. May have to hold out for awhile.
  • raiderjuanraiderjuan Member Posts: 3
I got a best quote of 18845 here in the San Gabriel Valley. I ended up purchasing the Accord SE in Alhambra. Arrogant Sales Manager in Glendale said I would never get it under 20200.

    hey greenice,
i'm new to leasing and my quote i got was the one right off the honda incentives page. price 26025. residual value after 3 years. 16153. 2474.00 for cash down, security deposit, plates, acquit ion fee. Monthly fee of 306.90. I was under the impression you could not negotiate this lease. obviously not.

Just picked up my 2006 Black Honda Accord coupe, V6 EX with leather and 6 speed MT, Friday 5/12/06. Hueys Honda, St. Louis, MO
The South County (STLS) dealer that I had bought 4 other Hondas didn't have this model and, interestingly enough, would not trade for it.

    MSRP=27950
Internet Price=24543, which included: mud guards, wheel locks and door edge guards. I understood this to be 1000 below invoice.
I added the Honda Music Link for iPods
    Price=24920
    Processing fees=99
    Total 25019.
    Honda Finance: 5.6%
I will buy dark window tint and a half nose bra soon.

I am very happy with the car, my first stick in 20 years. :)
Very happy with the performance, i have yet to put 50 miles on it.
Happy with the dealer's sales and parts folks. After some difficulty getting details on the music link, Parts guy had put it on his element and filled in the missing blanks.
    Your comments on my deal?

  • greenicegreenice Member Posts: 41
A lease can be negotiated just like a purchase. What is fixed by Honda is the residual value (58% of MRSP after 36 months / 12 miles a year for the EX V6 I leased) and the money factor (aka interest rate) which is a very low (subsidized by Honda which makes this lease so attractive) 0.00079 if you pay the security deposit and 0.00089 if you don't pay the security deposit. Just plug these numbers into a Lease Calculator like the one here on Edmunds' site, and it will tell you what selling price leads to what monthly rate.

CARMAN on the Accord Lease board has more details if you
    need them.

The best I've been able to do in the Pacific Northwest is $22,100 + TTL for a, EX-L manual transmission -- do you think this is fair?
  • carshopper16carshopper16 Member Posts: 2
VP manual -- my best quote: $17,300
    EX-L manual -- my best quote: $22,100

Has anyone done better near Seattle?? Thank you.
  • bigsky17bigsky17 Member Posts: 3
Sounds like a beautiful car and a hard one to find. Am I right that you bought it from Huey's and that your previous Honda's were bought from a different dealer? How is Huey's to deal with? I am in the St. Louis area and looking to buy an EX-L Accord sedan, auto, 4 cyl by the end of May. Sounds like you got a fairly good deal.

    Hey Everyone,
I just got an offer for a SIlver 2006 Accord LX SE Manual of $20,600 OTD (included $600 dealer). He then said he would cut dealer fee in have and car would be $20,300 out the door. I refuse to pay dealer fee. If they can work it, is $20,000 OUT The Door a good price. Tax here is 6%(State) and $50 local addon. I forgot how much tag was, but it was about $200. The car price was $18,559

    Thanks,
    Steve
  • brupopbrupop Member Posts: 63
    carshopper16,
That sounds like a real good price!
I've looked around the Portland/Salem area and haven't found a price below invoice.
Where did you get that price? Remember, name of dealership and the city and state they are in only (Forum Rules).
    Thanks,
    GregB

    4I got a quote for a 06 EXL- 4 for 22,030. ( 1200 UNDER invoice.) Not a bad price at Honda World , Westminister.

I live in So Cal and am looking for an Accord EX-L. Where did you purchase your car? Is it manual or automatic?
  • darballman1darballman1 Member Posts: 55
    $ 1200 under invoice @Honda World, Westminister.
    It is an automatic.
  • jay_gatsbyjay_gatsby Member Posts: 45
This might seem a dumb question, but is the term "EX-L" shorthand for the 4-cylinder EX with leather?
  • seniorjoseseniorjose Member Posts: 277
That is Hondas term for a 4 cylinder Accord with leather and lots of toys. It is also on the window sticker!
  • jay_gatsbyjay_gatsby Member Posts: 45
I haven't found much to indicate current pricing on EX-L's in the D.C. area or recommended dealers. Can anyone help?
  • normkolnormkol Member Posts: 135
I signed the papers tonight for a Carbon Bronze Pearl EX cloth.

List price was $23,950 (I live in NY, so it's a PZEV car, $150 extra).

I paid $20,300, plus TTL. Bottom line price, with TTL and door edge guards was $22,227. The dealer is Staten Island Honda.

I am very satisfied with the deal. I'll pick up the car Wed. night.

I have a 2000 Accord SE for which I paid $19,000. Hard to believe I'm getting a better car, 6 years later, for only $1300 more.
