fender wall protectors are little rubber pieces that go around the edge of your wheel well. Protects the car from getting those strange and hard to get rid of dings from rocks.
  • winbrowinbro Member Posts: 235
yes #2366 is correct on the fenderwall treatment. You can go to the honda website & when check off that box on the accessories, it shows you what the look like.

I just picked up my 03 lx 4dr 4cyl 5spd Granite Pearl today from Autowest Honda in Fremont CA.

    The price was
    $16,295 incl dest.
I added floor mats for $100.

I believe this price is around $950 UNDER invoice.
I just went to their website, and asked for a quote. No haggling at all. (except for the hard sell on extended warranty that I declined.)

I got 4 other quotes from dealers in the area through cars.com, and no one came close.

    $16999 Dublin Honda
    $16999 Livermore Honda
    $17068 Walnut Creek Honda
    $17750 Anderson Honda

The Dublin and Anderson dealers claimed they guarantee the lowest price/ and will match any dealer... they would not match my autowest quote....

    OTD was slightly under 18K

I also found some holdback info from www.car-prices-costs.com that I haven't seen here or elsewhere.

Highly recommend Autowest Honda (an Auto-Nation dealer)

I got my new Honda Accord Coupe 03 on Jul 08,03.
I bought the car on Marrone Honda of Hollywood in Florida. I got the EX-L 5 sp MT in Taffeta white. The price of the car $100.00 under invoice, $21,148 + TTL. I added two options at the dealer, the rear-wing spoiler and the Fog lights. It's my first Honda. I'm impressed with this piece of machinery. I had to wait two months for the car, due to availability, nobody buys MT down here in FL. I'm in the process of learning all the features on this car. I think that is good buy, the best package that you can find for less than 25,000. And the reliability of Honda. I'm looking for many years ahead enjoining this beauty.

Just bought a 2003 Accord Coupe EX V6 (Satin Silver) for $23334 + TTL at Honda of Pasadena. This car is loaded and I got the wheellocks free. Got the quote from Edmunds.com.

I just purchased 2003 Accord EX, 4 Cyl, 4 Dr., 5 Speed at Autowest Honda, Fremont, CA for $18700+TTL. Thanks to isaot's about his Accord LX, I looked at their website and requested a quote and made my offer of $18000 in the comments section. After very little haggling I ended up paying $18700. I could have tried a little harder. But they had the exact car I was looking for and it was the only 5-Speed EX they had in their lot. I also financed the entire cost at 2.9%. Not a bad deal, I hope :-)

just picked mine up on fri july 18th.
included mud guards, fender protectors, fog lights cargo net and premium floor mats. $24,200
just north of NYC area. Redondo Red Pearl and lovin it so far. Hard to get used to the climate control system, but only because I'm not used to the automatic controls. Also not sure what the "flap" is about the standard michelin tires, I noticed nothing unusual. handling is also VERY precise not play at all. nice car.............

For $20K car, I want to pay half by cash and get the other half finance from my bank. Can I pay the cash part($10K) using credit card? Does the dealer accept credit card for the whole amount? (By credit card, I can get at least 1% cash back. That $200! No need to haggle!)
  • bigdogzonlybigdogzonly Member Posts: 7
You can do that. However the interest rate on your credit card is more than the 1% cash back you would recieve on your purchase?

Hello everyone, been researching a lease of a new EX-V6 for a while. Today I sign the papers on a 4 dr Accord EX-V6. 36 month--15k miles a yr and only $385 down, (385 a month). What do u guys think?? Did I get a fair deal?

    Thanks

i assume he/she will pay off credit card bill within the month to avoid interest charge ...hence it makes sense.... correct?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,420
Most dealers won't take more than a couple of thousand on a credit card. That is because their fee is 1.75-3% depending on the card. That adds up to serious money on $10,000.

Bought my Accord EXV6 Sedan without Navi last month. I added the decklid spoiler and auto-dimming mirror. Dealer threw in floor mats and wheel locks. Total came to $24,925 which includes options, installation, destination, and dealer admin fee. If the Navi had been $1000 less, I would've gotten that too. Just don't think it's worth $2000.
  • shangydshangyd Member Posts: 25
ral2167 is correct. I will pay off will pay off credit card bill within the month to avoid interest charge. But according to kyfdx, most dealers will not accept CC for $10K. Then I must use personal check! What a pity! I will haggle the OTD price for 1% less. :-)

I paid $23,500 for my EX-V6 fully loaded Graphite with D-grey Leather int. with out Navi. I also added a small spoiler to it. I also thought 2k for the Nav system was too steep. I recieved 2.9% and after all said and done I left owing $27,500. I suspect this is right at invoice. I purchased my vehichle in Virginia Beach, Va. I Like It!!!!
  • tdub45tdub45 Member Posts: 4
I was curious - did the $23,500 include the spoiler? Also, did you add anything else? Thanks!
  • shuningliangshuningliang Member Posts: 9
I got mine at $18,880 OTD.
  • shangydshangyd Member Posts: 25
So far the best qutoe I got is $500-600 under invoice($20,619). The only extra is Tax, Title and License. How could some people in DC area get $1000-1200 under invoice? I know people in CA or Boston area can get 1200 under invoice.

I got an online quote of $17,644.00 from a No. CA dealer.

                $17,644.00
    + doc. Fee $45.00
    + Tax 8.25% $1,459.34
    + DMV $165.00
    = OTD $19,318.34

Is $17.6K a good price? The invoice from car-price-costs.com is $17,863.00 and the hold back is $600.

I thought the deal was $300 too high; what do you all think? Could I do better? I saw isaot from Fremont, CA got a LX 5 speed for $16295, under 18K OTD. Is that real? Both AT and MT are 5 speeds for Accord.

I have been learning a lot from this board. As I am planning to buy in two days -- July 28 - 29, any advice regarding the price would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    for 20,800 OTD.Anderson guys r expensive.
  • isaotisaot Member Posts: 2
I think 17.6 for a lx auto 4cyl is about $600 to $700 too much at Autowest.

The price diff bet auto and 5speed should only be around $700 at the most.

Yes, my price is real...under 18K OTD with floor mats.

  • baskaransbaskarans Member Posts: 3
    Hi pannu,

Did you buy any accessories with your EX? A price of 19000+TTL for the Accord EX 4cyl is still one of the best prices when compared what people have been saying they paid for this car. --baskaran

    $17,588 Accord LX 4cyl auto, $19250 OTD.

Honda of Hayward, CA, quoted $17,588 first time around. The lowest quote I got before that was from Anderson for $17,688, that's after couple days of bargaining.

I don't think $17.5K was the lowest price as isaot pointed out. I bet autowest fremont have a lower price, but I talked to David the fleet manager there, he doesn't seem to be very interested in selling me a car at all. Very disappointed with his customer service skills.

The fleet manager from Hayward was much nicer, no BS or playing games. Acceptable price. Nice services. (The service manager came out personally to answer my tech questions.) Pleasant overall experience! I would recommended this dealership to everyone.

Picked it up yesterday for $23,681 at Castrucci Honda in Dayton. They wouldn't budge on the $81
for the mud guards, but I signed the papers anyway. Not a great deal, but seems to be a fair price. Maybe could have got a little better deal elsewhere but I spent most of the month looking. The only bad part of the experience
was when the salesman assured me on three different occasions that they provided a loaner car. In fact, they don't. The sales mgr. gave me two free oil changes, so I guess that's okay.

Got the car w/o the nav. It's just priced way too high. Any thoughts on that?

Just purchased this car Monday night 7/28 at Autofair Honda in Manchester, NH. Paid "no dicker sticker price" of $21,300 all in which feels about $400 over invoice. Purchase was no hassle - some pushiness on extended warrantee which I declined. Called to "reserve" the car at 11:00am, showed up at 6:30pm, tested car, signed papers and drove home at 8:30pm. All in all, good purchase experience with a sense of having paid a "fair" price.

Been shopping a while and it is down to two cars, finally. The Honda Accord EX 6 loaded with leather or the Nissan Altima 3.5 loaded with leather. The price they quoted after haggling is; Honda, $23,925. and the Altima, $26,047. Now what? Are those great deals or should I ask for better? The Nissan guy is pretty well down to his lowest I think. Not sure about the Honda guy. I love the look of the Altima but the sensibility of the Honda. I am so lost. Can anyone help me?? Give me ideas. Thanks so much.
  • maxamillion1maxamillion1 Member Posts: 1,467
Invoice for the Accord is $23,674 with destination.

I am not sure about the Altima because you didn't list all the options for it. I am sure the Altima can probably be a little less than that though.

List all the options of the Altima and then we can see if you got a good deal or not.

    Good luck

    akal50,
Floor mats are standard on the EXV6, you got a decent price though, decklid is $235+$130 with install, auto mirror is $180+$75 for install.

Getting the Navigation computer in the Accord is awesome, it's very useful and you will use it many times. It's also a trip computer and just plain cool.

Now the extra $2000 makes you think about it, because for that amount of money, you can get a fully loaded laptop computer, which can be used in more places, with a GPS module and still have money left over. Especially, if you have kids, you might want to get them the computer...

Anyway, the reason I'd not get the navigation is because in all honesty, I would rather get a laptop, or get a better car than an accord, the Audi A4 comes into range for another $2000.

Thanks for your input. The Altima comes with the leather package including ABS, Traction control, sunroof, heated seats and I guess almost all that is in the Honda package that came STANDARD in the Honda price. The Honda has the Navigation, the Altima does NOT. Is that a great thing? I'm gonna go test drive the Honda model I am considering today so I hope that will help my decision. I wish there was a way that they could park the two cars side by side so that I could jump from one car to the other, wham-bang, and take off after pulling up to a stop. That way the memory of each car is fresh in my mind and I can compare the ride of each to the other. OK, I can fantasize! I hate living with regrets and want to buy the right car. Any more input would be welcome. How is the "re-sale" value of each? Anyone? Thanks And again, refering to my last post, how is the price?

In my opinion, you cannot go wrong. You are looking at two of the best dollar-for-dollar vehicles on the market. Prices are good-perhaps a few hundred dollars less on either. Which one is your heart/mind telling you? Test drive that one last-and it will be the one you buy! No wrong move here-Buy and Drive what you like the best! Let us know.

On my choice between the Altima and Accord; I have a few laymen questions. What is the difference and importance of a "single overhead cam." and a "double overhead cam."? and the Torque; "212ft-lbs.@5000" or "246ft-lbs.@4400"? And last but not least; "3.0 liters" or "3.5 liters"? People, people, work with me here. I'm going nuts with these choices I have to make! Altima or Accord? Help!!
  • cusafrcusafr Member Posts: 184
Answers to those questions are too long for this place. Layman's answer is same as my last post. From everything I read, MY OPINION, is you would be most happy with the Honda. Drive them both and you will know. The details you are asking about now are really insignificant for an every day family car. GO-BUY-BE HAPPY!

Hey Everyone, I'm new to the board and just wanted to get some feedback. I think I got a decent deal for Long Island, but the dealer scammed me. I got the car for $22,187 but the salesman said that the Honda Clearance entitled leases as well as financing to a 2.9% rate. When in fact it was over 5.1%. Also there was a RENTAL FEE of nearly $3,700 that the dealership refused to explain. Can anyone explain the rental fee for leases? How it is derived? I feel like I got a good deal on the actual price of the car but got taken on the RENTAL FEE... Can anyone help me out there?
  • winbrowinbro Member Posts: 235
honda is no longer leasing in NY ? hope you did not make the deal yet.

"there was a Also RENTAL FEE of nearly $3,700 that the dealership refused to explain. Can anyone explain the rental fee for leases? How it is derived?"

if they refused to answer such a question WALK AWAY QUICKLY
  • spyin78spyin78 Member Posts: 4
Honda extended leasing until 7/31. I have seen the rental fee before on other leases that I have had, but here they didn't know how to explain the fee. I signed paying $320 for 48 months. Paid $351 to get the car out the door. I think I got scammed.. but I dunno! HEEEELP!
  • winbrowinbro Member Posts: 235
is there a baloon payment at the end of the lease? could that be this so called rental fee?

I guess only you can decide if you got scammed by doing some comparisons. your payments add up to $15,711 over 48 months which includes the $351 OTD payment. You probably have to pay the $3700 at the end of the lease to own the car then. That brings the total up to $19,411.

If that's all the $3700 is and you still have the option to turn it back in and walk away, you probably did OK.
  • spyin78spyin78 Member Posts: 4
It appears the the $3700 was divided up over the 48 months. The buyout at the end of the lease is something like $12,000. Yes, I can walk away at the end of the lease and owe nothing but excess miles, if I so choose. I really just want to know what the RENTAL FEE is.. and how it is made up.. it's like the unknown that you just want to know. hahah

I would appreciate if someone could help me: i am perplexed. I visited a dealership and they appeared to be unwilling to go below the "base price + $300" mark. This is my thoght on purchasing a 2003 Accord: If the dealer will not discount off the base price, by at least $2000, which would be the current depreciation on a Honda Accord, then would it not be worth my while to simply wait until October and get a 2004 Accord(for vvery little more than a 2003 Accord) for the base price plus $300? Any thoughts on this and anyone out there able to get a discount to this extent? Thanks for any comments.
  • ral2167ral2167 Member Posts: 791
kinda wondering why you expect to get $2000 off invoice?? what does depreciation have to do with it??

i dont know of any rebates by honda. maybe low financing, but no rebates.

    i could be wrong.

best ploy i would suggest is "act" like you're just as happy to go buy a camry-- toyota's sellling those for $1000 below invoice or more with rebates.

seems to me your expectations are too high-- $2000 off invoice on an accord?? am i nuts?
