I belive that the factory windows are 50. When I had my 06 tinted I had them do the legal limit (30-35). It is not as dark as the back windows but a heck of alot better than no tint. Total cost $80.00. Good luck....
thanks! did you have the rear door windows tinted in this price, or just the 3 ( 2 aside + the flipping glass)cargo windows? Did you select a certain tint brand? How good was the job on the flipping glass with all those wires and connectors of the deffogging grid attached? Did you shop around? There are different q-ties of film? thanks in advance for any info.!
Could you please be more specific about about "the other site"? And the wiper stalk too, installation instructions, I would be interested too.. I don not think edmunds will remove information that realy helps topics on this site. List websites without the ww eventual... thanks, dan
Let's see how long this stays up.

No just the rear passenger windows the rest on my 06 SE came from the factory tinted. I have had my 00 Accord and my 04 Subaru rear windows done where the defroster and radio antenna were attached and there was no issues. One of the best ways is to find out where the car lots get there tinted maybe call around and ask then stop by and take a look at some being done. Most shops will be near the dealers.

Honda does not tint the front side windows from Factory. It was probably tinted by the dealer.
Roll down the rear door and the front door windows half way. Then go with your fingernail over the edge. The rear window will have a smooth edge. The front will have film on top of the inside of the glass.
on my 05LX tires are at 29 psi...OEM tires indeed, but noise is sooo loud, like I've been driving with the windows open . Driving a 2003 Camry with OEM tires too, difference in noise level is HUGE!!!
Questions for anyone with the '07 CRV fog lights. Have they helped with night driving on back roads? I've noticed with my CRV that there is a sharp cutoff at the sides which makes it difficult to see around curves and when turning corners. Now, I'm ASSUMING that my headlights are properly aimed (which may be a bad assumption). I previously had fog lights on an Integra and I found them invaluable for night driving on back roads (Plus they look awesome!!).
I've looked at the installation instructions for the Fog Lamps and it's probably more than I care to take on. Do the fog lights need to be installed by Honda, or are most repair shops able to install as well?
What kind of prices have people been getting for installed fog lights on their '07 CR-Vs?
I just purchased a LX last day. I would like to know if anybody here have installed a dual deck cargo shelf themselves in their LX!!! How difficult is it?? If someone made their own cargo shelf, that's even better. Any blueprint or drawing available? Any info you can share?
Cargo shelf construction: I made my own for my new LX; need wide piece of cardboard for template;cut 1/2 inch plywood into 2 pieces then into shape using template and sabre saw; join the 2 pieces with long hinge and cover with indoor/outdoor carpeting. Only hard part is the notching.
Thanks. Do you have to remove the plastic hooks (the latch in a EX)? What do you use for notching? How do you secure the whole piece so that it will not rattle? :shades:
Don't need to remove latches; use sabre or a small hand saw saw to cut notches to fit latches; with carpeting it's quiet; can also be removed and placed in back of seat.
Thanks for your advice. What I plan to do is to get a piece of foam board to make a template. Once I get the template done, then I will get a piece of wood or plexi glass to make the cargo shelf. Probably, I will make a piece without the hinges, so that it will be easier to make. Save me some $$$$$$$$ too.
You will not save any $$$$$$$ by using plexi-glass. The plexi has to be very thick just to support it's own weight and it would only be commercially available and very expensive.

Not to mention the weight penalty, both in terms of MPG and functionality. Plywood is better.
No need to buy that expensive cargo shelf. Make one yourself. I just did yesterday. The materials only costed me $50 and few hours of my time. :shades:
Thanks guys. Made a cargo shelf with 3/4 plywood, and a pair of hinges. It works perfect. Just need to put a carpet or something similar to make the shelf look nice. Last time when I talked to the dealer, the shelf is close to $400. The labor is another $100 for replacing the hooks on the LX. :shades:
Since Honda does not make a car cover for the CRV, has anyone bought an aftermarket cover and what brand, where, how much? I just moved to Northern CA from Southern CA and no longer have a garage, so want to get a cover to try to keep the finish as nice as possible! Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!
I want/need a cargo mat for my 2007 CRV and I do not like the genuine Honda one for 80.00. Does anyone know if there are any products out there that would work? It's not necessarily the price, it's just kind of cheaply made and ugly. Google and eBay didn't really return any winners. Thanks.
Has anyone recently installed installed keyless entry for 2004 Honda CRV LX. It would be great if someone can share their insight and experience.
I want to order keyless entry for my 2004 Honda CRV LX. Before ordering, I want to be sure about being capable of installing it and am having a hard time figuring the installation procedure. I was reviewing the installation instructions (http://www.handa-accessories.com/crv/02CRVKEYLESS.pdf) and in particular, I have question about Step 3, which says "Open the lid. Remove the dashboard pocket (one self-tapping screw, and pull out to release the two clips and three retaining tabs)."
When I look into my CRV, I couldnot figure out how to open the lid in order to complete the subsequent steps. I don't see the self tapping screw. It will be great if someone can suggest how to go about it.

If you open the lid to the storage compartment under the radio and look inside, you will see a small plastic plate with a little notch on one side. Slide a thin flat tipped screwdiver in the slot and pop the plate. The screw is under it.
With the deer season approaching, and after a close call a few nights ago, I'm considering again putting bull bars/push bars (is there a difference?) on our CRV. I heard a while ago that those might save you a lot of damage. Has anyone tried this? I found a web site that offers some specifically for CR-V, and I think they don't look bad either. ( I really hate pimped-out looking vehicles). My other concern is the mounting and the integrity of the vehicle - from what I've seen holes need to be drilled. Your opinions are welcome.
Well, almost a year after I installed heater outside mirrors on the 2005 EX, and wired them as per OEM (active when rear defroster is on). I found out from very knowledgeable people on "the other forum" that the Pilot has a separate mirror heater switch.
The end result is that I now have the Pilot switch to operate the mirrors. Aside from the green "Mirror" lighting, no one would know that it was not the original part.
A portable navi system is available if you dont have a navi equipped car. Seems overpriced since it's a Garmin Nuvi with a honda logo on it. That seems to be the only difference. There are other portable nav options as well. The Fit also has this navi too. Remote start is available. It has a monitor attached to it. It's another keyfob though.
Any suggestions on something to hold small items in place in the cubbies of the 07 CR-V cargo area? They are pretty useless cutouts and I can't seem to find anything to use, nor did my local Honda dealer have any suggestions. My Volvo wagon and Tribute both had cargo nets over the cubbies, and I'm tired of my dogs tennis balls, etc. rolling all over the place.
Hi: have a CR-V 2007 Honda w/ grey leather interior. Can't find the Grey all season floor mats. They come in black or taupe. 1)Is grey avalible? If not, how does the Honda black all season floor mat look with the grey interior? Thanks Lawrence
Has anyone had one installed in their car? How does it look. I am thinking about buying the rear spoiler and crossbar roof rack. I am in the Los Angeles area and have not seen anyone with the rear tailgate spoiler. Thanks.
Just had one installed yesterday! I wasn't sure if I wanted it, my wife liked the look and of course that meant it was going to be installed (her car). I'm finding that I now like the look it gives to the car, I'm hoping it will keep some of the dirt and grime off the rear window since I live in OR where it rains occasionally(?). Also had body side moldings installed to save on door dings, they also add a good look to the CRV. Purchased all my accessories on-line and saved a ton of money installing them myself. Had a body shop install the spoiler & moldings and still came out way ahead. Roof rack is going to be next since I can't use my existing Thule system.
Thanks for your great response. BTW, your wife has good taste. I too am going to buy the body side moldings, rear spoiler, roof rack, maybe fog lights (already bought the mud flaps and wheels locks on-line). I am also going to have a body shop do the work to save money. Much less expensive than the dealership. The dealership gave me a quote for parts and labor than was greatly more expensive than their online website (EShop). Have had my car was one full day now and I absolutely love it.
MacNeil Auto has grey all season mats (2 styles) and cargo liners. I've had good success with them in my other vehicles.
I was going to purchase them for my 08 CR-V with grey leather, but dealer suprised me by including Honda's mats in black. They look fine with that interior. I'll see how they wear, and if not happy will get a set from MacNeil (www.mats.com)
I had a competive product installed on the front bumper cover and painted portion of the grill on my 08 EX-L: Llumar film. Great installation, can't tell there is anything over the paint! I chose not to have the hood done, since it was only partial coverage, and I knew that overt time I would begin to see the seam on the hood (e.g., wax buildup along the edge). Since I'm going to dinghy-tow the CR-V behind our motorhome I wanted a little extra protection on the front surfaces against road debris kicked up during towing.
BTW, my motorhome does have the 3M film on the front and I've been pleased with that too.
I am looking for the CRV Body Side Molding, the lower price I got is $167.31 + shipping, I think it still expensive for four pieces plastic, anyone find a lowest price from somewhere or any other replacement, please let me know. Thank you.
I agree that the price seems expensive (I paid a bit more) but I wouldn't drive around without them. It'll definitely pay off in the long run saving $$ on door dings from inconsiderate others. I also like the "lines" the molding gives to the CRV.
three quick things, the 167.31 for the side moldings is about all the cheaper you are going to find them, they come painted it the main reason they are more spendy; I work at a dealer and paid about 175inc install for mine. our CR-V is Tango Red/Gray and the black all weather mats look fine. (I cried about not haveing gray avail. too, but they really do look okay. the clear bra from 3M is the better of the two ways to go about protecting the paint, but in the end we have found them to be more pain than gain... if they don't do a great job in application, you will see finger prints under the tape, and if its a little too thick, the UV block factor make for un even paint color fade in a staight line, and as the car ages the protection becomes more visable... the next best (if you like the way it looks it the Honda "bug shield" they do a really go job protecting the hood. I would bother protecting the bumper cover; its plastic, and to get one re-painted is a few hundred$ and they are never going to rust even if they do get chipped. just my 2 cents.
found this thread by searching floor mats in msn. i'm gonna have to agree with phisher on your question. beige floormats seems to look better than the black ones in my cousin's CRV. she went with the husky crv floor mats instead of the usual weathertechs that many people get. so far liked them. which one did you wind up going with?

Remove the bezel
Remove Radio
Unplug the old XM cable
Plug the new cable with piggyback connector.
Mount the unit on the passenger side of the glove box.
Run the iPOD cable through the back of the cubby under the radio
And you are done!!!
The unit allows you to control the iPOD through the stock steering wheel controls on the EX and SE, and from the radio on all models.
If anyone is interested, I have $20 off first purchase code.
By this I mean the door automatic locks either when D is engaged or above certain speed.
Has anyone done it and if so how?
