I don't think so ;) I think it would look a lot funnier in my driveway during the rain than in my humble garage... he he...

I talked to a dealer in Austin, Tx today. They are taking orders for the 2001 f150 crewcab. When I pressed him for a price, He finally came up with 1000.00 over invoice. I balked, said that's alot considering the 3% holdback. He said... well they won't build many. I told him I thought they would build plenty. We left it at that.

Ordered a supercrew last week. Still no prices yet but did agree to $100 over dealer invoice. Got 7700 lb towing package, and "off-road" options (skid plates, 17in alloys, 3.55 limited slip, etc.- there is no off-road "package"), 5.4l engine, nerf bars, 6-disc changer, captains chairs, etc. Didnt see the need for bed x-tender, sunroof (no overhead console if you opt for a sunroof, power adjustable foot pedals, or Lariat/leather. I will post how much $100 over dealer invoice is when I find out. Truck should be ready in late Jan or early Feb.

That is a pretty good price for the new super crews. I 've been quoted about 1000.00 over invoice in the central Texas area. Where bouts you get your deal?

If you could come up to Oklahoma, there is a dealer that will sell any, ANY, car truck whatever, at invoice. It is the invoice you find on Edmund's too. Not some made up invoice that they came up with. If another dealer won't come down to invoice then leave.

does anyone have the dimensions on the truck. Overall length. Bed length. I would love a Super Duty if it would fit in my garage. Also the gas mileage issue. And the turning radius.

I know dodge has the Dakota with crew cab, but the bed is small. Anyone have the dimensions on the bed and overall length?

Why will this truck only be available with an automatic transmission?
I would rather have a manual.

Would this short bed be able to carry a 4'x8' piece of plywood?

I realize that it will stick out the back, but will a person be able to transport an occasional piece of plywood home.

My 2000 Silverado has a 6 1/2' bed. With the tailgate down I have over 8' of flat surface. Since the bed on the F150 Crew Cab is only 1' shorter than my Silverado, you should have over 7' of flat surface, which is plenty for carrying plywood or other 8' building material.

Just be sure to tie down whatever you're carrying.

BOB5: The bed is 67.2" long measured on the floor. You will be able to a bed extender if you like but just as jerobbins said you shouldn't have any problems if you tie it down.

I know that I measured one of my company vehicles that has a tool box on it and it has a 6 1/2' bed. With the tool box I only have about 61" of bed to use. So look at it that way if you want. I don't personally use a tool box and won't on my new SuperCrew so it doesn't matter to me.

ABRAMS: No flareside is to be offered from my understanding. However, the tail lights on the 2001 SuperCrew are very similar to the current flareside.

getting factory tooling for all the different options ya'll want is very expensive and takes a LONG TIME. be grateful they got this truck to market as fast as they did. until this truck becomes a major percentage of overall sales, they can't afford to commit huge amounts of money to tooling up a factory for all different options. if you were to get every single option on this truck as on the rest of Ford's lineup, they would have to charge 45K per truck just to break even.

EXTENED OUT FOR LUMBER / PLYWOOD ECT. CABELA'S.COM IN THE TRUCK ACCESSORIES DEPT. THERE IS A DEVICE THAT GOES INTO YOUR HITCH, EXTENDS BACK SEVERAL FEET, THEN 90'S UP AND ACTS LIKE A RACK FOR HAULING LONG BOARDS..I DON'T THINK IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE, AND LOOKS LIKE A SIMPLE FIX SHOULD YOU DECIDE IT IS WHAT YOU NEED...

i was looking at the '00 1500 LT, the salesman said i could order it with a crew cab... does chevy do that or was he pulling my ............ tooth(?) ;) Thx..

    Thank you for your opinions.
Seems this bed will be more than adequate for my needs.
Mostly for hauling camping gear, fishing equipment, etc.
4x8 sheet goods would be the largest item for me.
Just wanted to know it could be hauled without major difficulty.
If it was available with a manual tranny, it would be perfect.

I haven't been able to find good web data on the new F-150 Crew Cab (Quadrunner 500 ?).
The Ford webpage promotes the new Ranger size Sport Trac (crew cab), but I have not been successful in finding anything on the full size configuration of the new crew cab/mini-bed.

    Any ideas?

I read somewhere, think it was Blue Oval News that Ford will be offering bed extenders for the Super Crew Cab. Don't know if it will be from the factory or the parts dept.

    "newf15001"
Check out blueovalnews.com for pictures and specs on the F-150 Super Crew Cab

I've got a bed extender for my 2000 Silverado shortbed. It seems to be the same one that comes with a Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. I bought it from a place called California Concepts (http://www.californiaconcepts.com) for around $200. It should fit any full size truck, since the width is adjustable. It installs be screwing two brackets just behind the tailgate. The extender fits in those brackets and flips around; it can be inside the vehicle and provide and 18" trunk for groceries, etc. or it can flip onto the tailgate and turn the shortbed into a longbed. It also comes off easily for loading and unloading.

I bought a net from AutoZone that I've attached to mine. When the extender is in my truck bed I can place grocery bags in the the net to stop them from sliding around.

So far I've been very happy with mine. I could do the same thing with some plywood, but this looks better and appears to be pretty sturdy. Go to a Nissan dealership - they might have some installed on their Crew Cab Frontiers.

Hey folks thanks for all the web sites, and info on the F150CC. Up until a week a go, my 1 year truck search had narrowed down to the 1500 silverado. Now this F150CC thing comes out, and has me starting all over again. To me, the pictures look great! It looks like this could be the perfect truck for me, and "my" needs. If and when some of you buy this truck, it would be great to hear how you feel about it. Things like fit, finish and how it's holding up.Meanwhile I'll keep my eyes open every time I drive by my local Ford dealer, so I can get a closer look.

    epoe,

I was involved in a truck focus group back in
April, maybe May. One of the several vehicles
on display that we were to "evaluate" were the
Chevy 1500 crew cabs. They didn't say when they
will be available, but I won't be surprise if
they are available by this Spring. The ones in
display had the Chevy front-end, but I'm sure
    GMC will have them also.

I talked to my local Ford dealer today and he said the supercrews would be available for delivery in January. None would be available before that due to the 2001 year designation. He did say that next week pricing would be available on the supercrew.
  • klloydklloyd Member Posts: 26
Thanks for the update mjohn. I also have a supercrew on order. Wondering if your dealer mentioned getting a VIN number and build date on your truck next week when pricing is available. My dealer implied that would be the case on mine. Just curious and extremely anxious.
  • mjohnmjohn Member Posts: 38
Yes, I do have a V.I.N. but he would not give me a specific date. I too am anxious and have already rearranged my garage so it will fit.
  • mriffe1mriffe1 Member Posts: 4
I just spoke with the dealer that I ordered my SuperCrew from regarding the pricing information that was supposed to be out this week. He did not have any pricing information yet - and told me that due to problems with suppliers, my January delivery date has now been pushed back to March. He also told me that he didn't think that the SuperCrew was going to qualify for the finacing specials that the F150 does (3.9 - 36 months, 4.9 - 48, and 5.9 - 60)- I hope he's wrong.
  • klloydklloyd Member Posts: 26
The dealer I ordered my SuperCrew from said he just got pricing today. It is not in the computer but he was able to download the pricing from Ford's/Dealer Web site. He has not given me the break down of the different options yet he is in the process of typing it up and faxing it to me.

While I did not get all the details while on the phone with him, he told me the 2WD Lariat version is approximately $2,300 more than Lariat 2WD F150 SuperCab. I was thinking it would be more like $1,500 to $1,800. In general he said it looked like the other options were same price as they would be for other F-150 products. While I can't verify this, it would be great if some of you other guys start bugging your dealers to see if they can download the prices and we can compare notes.

Also, he did confirm the delivery delays. Says he has ordered 10 so far and all show to be delayed in the computer. He said he was told job 1 now January and first trucks start arriving mid Feb. So March is probably more likely.

    Very disappointing.
  • mriffe1mriffe1 Member Posts: 4
Spoke with the dealer again today. He DID have a price for my SuperCrew this time: Retail = $33,440 Dealer invoice = $29,243. I'm paying $100 over dealer invoice.

My truck is the XLT with basically ALL options excluding sunroof and power seats. (Leather only available in Lariat.)

By the way, the SuperCrew does come w/ foglamps!
  • woody24woody24 Member Posts: 59
Regarding #94, Ford must be stoned if they think that the majority of us are going to pay $29K plus for this F-150 crew cab. I got a price on-line for a F-250 crew cab fully loaded Lariat for just over $26K! I'm interested in this truck for the future but certainly not for this price. Please, post any more pricing info--thanks. P.S.
I realize that the F-250 is larger but I can deal with it.

The F150 Super Crew Job#1 (the first to roll off the line) is scheduled for 12/13/99 (Monday). Once production gets up to speed, they should be on dealers lots by the first or second week of January. Prices should be out by New Years Day.

Pricing is available for the F150 supercrew thru WEB Carbook. I can never log into straight, always have to go thru my credit union sight so here's the address:

    www.navyfcu.org

    Then select Products and Services
    Then select Auto Pricing Guide
Then look for the link to WEB Carbook

Under new vehicles, select 2001 as the model year, only Ford will pop up after that. Click away and you will have a price.

You don't have to be member to use this part.

    Have Fun

    It worked for me!

    Thanks
  • klloydklloyd Member Posts: 26
Thanks for the link to Webcarbook. However, I think their pricing is not totally correct. When I changed options sometimes total vehicle price changed and sometimes it didn't. For instance selecting 60/40 bench seat changed invoice price upward by $417 but this is a standard item and should not affect pricing. Selecting the captains chairs did not change invoice price at all, which it obviously should because it is truly an option, which by the way is a $417 option on the F150 SuperCabs. This happened on other options as well.

Just be careful assuming that these prices are totally correct. I applaud these services trying to get information out as quickly as possible.
  • bigsnagbigsnag Member Posts: 394
The invoice price listed above is about $1600 less than the crew cab short bed super duty. Is this correct. I thought the F-150 would be closer to the super duty price. I guess I should take this as good news, right.
  • klloydklloyd Member Posts: 26
I got a revised price from my dealer on my Supercrew. Total invoice price for 4x2 Lariat w/ 5.4l,limited slip, trailer towing, captains chairs, two tone, cd changer, nerf bars is $26,823.
I think option pricing matches F150 option pricing for the most part.

I calculate roughly $1,600 over F150 Supercab Styleside Lariat base which is more reasonable than my earlier post of $2,300. I have not looked as it compares to SD Crew Cab but $1,600 less than sounds about right.

No delivery date on mine either.
  • klloydklloyd Member Posts: 26
Just found on Kelly Blue Book pricing for the F150 Crew Cab. I did see one thing missing and that was optional 5.4L V8, which invoice is $680.

    Address is: www.kbb.com

    Merry Christmas all.
  • mjohnmjohn Member Posts: 38
Just checked with the local Line-X dealer. He said it would be $375.00 to do the back of the super crew. I also asked him about nerf step bars. So far they are unavailable. He said that will probably change once the truck is on the market. Merry Christmas.
  • mjohnmjohn Member Posts: 38
Just checked with the Ford people and they say they have not even started making the supercrew yet and did not know when they would start. Ba Humbug

I just read an article this week in the "BOTTOM LINE" newsletter (JAN 2000 issue) about a Chevy SUV/truck hybrid called the "Avalanche", (cool name). Is this Chevy's answer to Ford?
It said it was being introduced in the year 2001 but, could this be the MODEL YEAR of the truck and as such we will see in the year 2000? I am not sure. The article was unclear about this. Also could this be the same truck mentioned in response #87?
When I got my first look at the Ford F-150 Supercrew I was hooked! It is was my perfect answer. But now Chevy is answering back with the "Avalanche" and with a name like that I've got to know more about this truck. So, does anyone know anything about this new stranger in town?
  • gdh78gdh78 Member Posts: 3
This past September, I was traveling from on I-69 from Indianapolis to Ft. Wayne when I saw a Chevy 2500 approaching (southbound), it was easy to recognize w/ the wheel flares. It was white w/ black wheel flares(production). What was odd was there were two sets of door handles!! I quickly took a double take and I have to swear that I saw a crew cab! No mistaking the 2nd door handle. I almost turned around in the median to catch up and get a better look.

Anyhow, the dealer I deal w/ in Toledo was expecting the crew cab in March of 2000 on the 2500.

I have no clue about the 1500. GM is always last to do something. Why I don't know. I have a '98 K1500 3dr. Z71 and love it but a friend bought a Centurion Conversion (half ton, cut and stretched like a limo) it was really nice. It's a Tahoe/Yukon and P/U in one!!!!
  • z71josez71jose Member Posts: 22
    Terk,
The Avalanche is a totally different vehicle
then the 1/2 ton crew cab. At the focus group,
they were BOTH on display. Just like the Ford
Super-Crew is based and looks like the F-150,
the 1/2 ton crew cab is based and looks like the
current Silverado. Personally, I didn't like the
looks of the Avalanche, but I'm sure it will do
for some. The 1/2 crew-cab on the other hand,
was awesome!!! It was a 4x4,with fender flares.
I'm definately waiting for these to come out to
    replace my '96 Z71.
  • terkterk Member Posts: 2
    z71jose,
Many thanks for the info. I am definitely in the market for the 1/2 ton crew and with your description of the Silverado as "awesome", well that's one I've got to see. I too like the Silverado's styling, as well as the F-150.
As for the Avalanche; now you've really got my curiosity peaked. You say its not a crew cab and its not an SUV, then what is it? Oh I know, its a platypus! Now that is strange.:)
