similar like the Silverado. The unique thing
about this truck is that the 5.5 feet bed can
go to 6.5 by lowering the back seat. After
lowering the back seat, the rear window pops-off,
you store itin a compartment behind the seat,
and the remaining sheet metal that is left folds
down, and whoala, you have a 6.5 bed, and/or
a cab with an open rear.
I asked if he had received any yet and he said no. The first of his he thought he might get the very end of January but more likely first week of February. So mine MAY be one of the early ones.
Sure hope so! My old wreck isn't going to make it much longer. I have used all my spit and baling wire to keep this thing together for the past year waiting on these trucks to come out.
The F150 CC meets different needs that the F250 CC does, at least for me. I am a city boy, work downtown Big D, have 2 kids under age 6 other "good" car is Dodge Minivan. My in-laws have a small ranch in East TX that we are at once a month. I am also a weekend Tim-the-toolman fixer-upper at home.
This truck will meet my needs better than F250. My brother-in-law has F250 CC (he is at ranch every weekend) I have spent a lot of time in his truck. Its a great truck but since the majority of my time is city driving and my desire to park in the garage the F150 is smoother on the road and a little smaller in garage and parking lots.
By the way, I went to KBB and priced the two trucks I was interested in. Base for 2WD Lariat Models are about the same, but once you add AT, Privacy Glass, CD etc to the 250 to get comparable equipment the F250 is about $1,400 to $1,500 more than F150 CC.
clshaw17,
$200 under invoice does sound a little unbelievable right as these vehicles are about to hit the lots, but as long as he prints off the order from the computer, (with your name on it) and gives you a quote in writing you should be OK. What State are you in? Allocations and thus timing are all based on where you are. I think TX is going to be the easiest place to get these things. Just my opinion.
Woody24,
My guess is somewhere around $500 over invoice has been average of what I have seen in this board and others. I got a quote about 2wks ago from a internet site (already ordered mine just checking to see what other quote I got), I think fordfinder or something like that and they emailed me a quote of $700 over. Thought that was pretty good just entering what you wanted over internet and before you ever talk to anyone. If you want me to try to find the URL I'll try to locate for you.
mjohn,
Any word as to what equipment might be delaying builddates? I know Audio Video system and bed extender are delaying things. I guess there are a number of other things different from F150 SC that would be changed to fit CC. I will talk to my dealer again next week to see if mine got built. I hate to bother him too much. He did me a big favor.
Went ahead and ordered it anyway. So you could say I got $210 over invoice(as quoted here) which worked out (with the options I ordered) to around $28,000. Now the waiting begins. Estimate I got from dealer was 12-16 weeks. I hope it is sooner.
I got lucky and stumbled onto the code by trying some different things. For my truck when the computer instructs to enter body code, I entered "9107". This equates to W07 (the number 1 acts like a space I guess). I would assume for W08 you would enter "9108".
Unfortunately the computer is not very up to date. It said as of January 3 my truck would be built week of Jan 17th. At least it is the same as dealer told me couple of days ago.
Good Luck.
Went back and looked for that URL and found out a little bit more about it. The site called FordFinder is simply one section of a dealer's web site, Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston. You can find it at
www.fordfinder.com
It is ordering based on invoice not negotiating down from sticker and as I said in an earlier post the quote I got was $700 over invoice. Unless dealers can order a truck but have it shipped elsewhere, I am not sure how useful this is to those outside of Houston area.
Update on my order. I checked VOPC again this morning and the computer had been updated. It said as of Jan. 20th ( my calendar hasn't gotten there yet) my truck was locked down for production the week of Jan 17th. I assume locked down means I can't change anything on the order. The computer said the ETA to the dealership was Feb 7th. Lets hope all goes well this week in KC. At least the Rams won so everyone at the factory should be in a good mood.
Thanks
Warren B.
Also, I called the 800 number listed before to see what the status of my truck was. The computer voice said it was "clean and unscheduled." Well, I pretty much figured out the unscheduled part, but does anyone know the signifance of "clean?"
Woody24 and others: When are the dealers telling you your trucks are going to be in? Does anyone have a firm grasp on how allotments work and how you can find out what allotment a dealer has? I asked my dealer and he said it really didn't matter because everybody was over their allotment on trucks. I just wanted to know if this was true, or if he was feeding me a line. My dealer said to be prepard for a 12-16 week wait! I asked him what the worst case could be and replied "i would call you to come pick up your deposit!" He reassured me that would not happen, but that statement got me wondering. Just would like to know your thoughts. I have never ordered a new vehicle and just wanted to know if this was kind of standard. I hope somebody gets one in soon so they can tell us how great it is. Whoever gets the first one has to make daily post for us!!!!!Thanks in advance. clshaw17

I just talked to my dealer today and he told me job 1 (official build date) was pushed back to the beginning of March. Can anybody else confirm this.
Thanks, Warren B.
Warren B. are you sure that the dealer was not talking about trucks with either the optional bed extender or the Video system. Both of these options are not available on Job 1 but had been expected to be available in March.
I will call my dealer and see if he knows anything.
Anyways, I also wanted to ask how you guys all got your Ford F150 Supercrews a couple hundred over invoice? Every dealer I've talked to (LA and Orange County area) has told me they'd be selling at MSRP or over because of the demand! Also, when I went to get a quote on-line with Auto Warehouse, who has been very competetive on every vehicle so far - they quoted me the four door Dakot 150 over invoice - these guys quoted me the new Fords 150 over MSRP! That went for the Explorer and the F150 Supercrew.
What'd up here?
clshaw17 - I'd gladly fly to SC from LA, register the vehicle in SC and save a whole bunch of money on DMV license fees, not to mention 8.5% CA sales tax in LA!!! What city are you in and what dealer? I have friends in Columbia and also in North Carolina (I was in Chapel Hill in October) so it's not that far fetched if everybody here is quoting me MSRP and your guy is delivering for 250 under invoice. BTW: how does he make money if he's selling it under his wholesale price he paid to get the vehicle from Ford?
If anybody sees any of these on the road they should post date and where. It will be interesting to see where they arrive first.
Impatient and anxious.
