I live in Long Island, NY. I bought my TCH during the Memorial Weekedn that $200 under the invoice price. I shopped online with all the dealers in the tri state area and this one called me back with the deal that I couldn't resist. I Paid $28K for the fully loaded one even with the spoiler (not the 50th anniversary edition though). My included: leather with heated seats, sunroof, navigation, and all the standard options. I think I got a damppp good deal simply because other dealers around the area I spoke to still not calling me back about the car. The only down side is I couldn't get my favorite color that is gray, so I have to settled for the desert sand color which is my wife's favorite. Anyway, she paid for the car, so at least she got her color right?)):)

sounds fair to me. I have a friend who bought her hubby a Chrysler 300M for their anniversary and she got him a license plate holder that says "her payments, his car".

I just drove home my 50th TCH bought in SC from Harrelson Toyota. Paid $29,555 plus tax OTD. Some other dealers would only sell for close to list. Amazing how the price varied on this car. Thank you all for your posts. Very valuable information from you all. Consumer Reports true cost reports also helped me get this deal. Just a couple of days research can mean thousands!

The worst thing to me about this experience is that the price between 2 dealers (Town & Country & Harrelson ) less than 20 miles away (different states) was 4k and the high price dealer said they sell them as soon as they come in! They essentually blew me out of the store for trying to get a deal. Who are these suckers buying from them? None of you I'm sure! lol
  • quixotic1quixotic1 Member Posts: 23
I meant to say over 3k more at T&C not 4K. In retrospect, if this car is such a hot seller I can't blame them for selling it for as much as the market will bear. I will also add that the salesman at T&C was very nice.

Bought it for 20,300, because to get the 19.9k, I had to sign up for thise Premier Services thing for $395. It said "optional" on the buyer's order, so when I questioned it, he spoke about how he couldn't give it to me for that price without signing up for it(surprise, surprise).

I could have argued about the holdback, ad fees, and finance reserves (read BS costs), but I chalked it up to their profit (I was generous and did my estimates at 5%). They gave me a free protable GPS, "tires for life", 1st free oil change, and a 7 year/100,000 powertrain warranty for free. Of course, I'm sure these "amenities" were made up for in the TAF, TMF, Finance Reserves, etc. All in all, got it for $22k, OTD (good deal?)

Main thing I would tell buyers is to not let the salesmen throw you off by reminding you multiple times about how they're losing money. They aren't. Through all that they're doing, they are making the money somewhere. If they were really taking as big a loss as they claim with some of these vehicles, they would be out of business.

I got the following quote from the dealer (Sansone's Route 1 Auto Mall, Avenel, NJ 07001).

    MSRP: $24,865
    Invoice price: 22,080
    Internet Offer price: 22,600
    Out to door: 24,700 (includes 7% tax + 250 reg. 280 doc)

    Features: 2007 LE V6 with sun/moon roof

Is it worth buying this car?
  • mvperez4jesusmvperez4jesus Member Posts: 231
I don't think. you should easily get it for 23800 OTD try crystal auto mall in greenbrook, nj. the doc fee is way to high don't pay more than 100-180. plus the fact that is an 07, vs 08 comming out in 2 months. you will lose 3500-4500 just due to that difference. is my advise. i'v been chacking this website for months and i my self will try other dealers. maybe route 22 toyota or any other. just curiuos did u get any special financing offer
  • tirutiru Member Posts: 4
nope... I didn't get any spl financing offer... interest rate is between 6-6.5

by which date we expect 2008 camry, any idea?
  • youmeyoume Member Posts: 11
You can try Power Toyota of Irvine.

I did use some ads from other dealer to get deals from them.
The first one was ads from Toyota of Capistrano LE $17988.
The second one was ads from Elmore for Hybrid base $22400.

Do not go to Elmore. Waste your time there.

Bargain with the dealer for several days. I got the BASIC LE without anything at $21,600 for OTD. My location is albany, NY. Is this a decent price?

Which dealer did you buy the TCH from in Long Island? Thanks
  • brudoffbrudoff Member Posts: 7
Went to Toyota's web site and did build your own car. Priced out TCH in black over bisque with nav, moonroof, leather, comfort pkg, carpeted floor and trunk mats. Came in at $31k even. Took printout to Deland Toyota in Deland Fl on Tues june 19th. Southeast Toyota Distributors offer a come on called Toyoguard at $699. Told them do not need it, do not want it and will not pay for it. Told them wanted lip spoiler, side trim molding and pin stripe. Got a call the next day saying they found the car in Leesburg Fl. It did have the Toyoguard pgk but I would not have to pay for it. Car sticker was $31547 w/ delivery of $675. Invoice.per Edmunds, $28,650 (includes $712 SET administration fee for NC, SC, GA, Al, and Fl) TMV $30,252. Paid $28,737 before taxes, dealer fee, tag transfer etc.5.85% finance. Picked up last Friday Jun22. So far, so good. Comfortable ride, lots of interior room great stereo, nav and bluetooth.

Hi kiawah, do you know when the 2008's will come out? I posted this questions here but it seems nobody knows the answer so far. Thanks.
  • kiawahkiawah Member Posts: 3,666
I have no idea. I'm not connected with any dealership or manufacturer to have any inside scoop.

Souled, Just purchased a Camry LE with 5 speed Automatic this afternoon (7/1/2007) from Toyota of Concord (Charlotte, NC) for $21,235 OTD (3% NC Tax & $69 Tags). Options included Leather Seats, Camry Floor Mats and Splashguards. Great people to work with, arranged deal over the phone and car was delivered as promised. Hard to find a vehicle without the Toyoguard Protection (ripoff) package. Felt we received a good deal, price was several hundred dollars better that the Costco $100 over invoice price that I received from another dealer in town.

Thanks for that info. The quotes I got in around 19K. Not what I was expecting.
  • nathan118nathan118 Member Posts: 31
Hi everybody, I'm in the process of collecting quotes from some local dealers online, and I wanted your opinions. The 4-cyl SE camrys come in basically one feature set here in southern california. The only options added are:

    Floor Mats
    Rear Spoiler
Sunroof (I don't want it, but they ALL come that way here)

MSRP I've been quoted several times is $24,099.

    Southbay Toyota quoted $22,190.

    Longo Toyota quoted $22,000.

    Carson Toyota quoted $21,109.

I'm digging that last one. Believe he said it was $500 under invoice. Should I jump at this?

    Thanks for the help!

I stopped into 355 Toyota here in the D.C. area and the guy said the 2008s would be out at the end of the year (ARGHHHH!) - but I think it was a guess.

However, the salesperson at Fitzmall (I've told him I intend to buy from there but I want a 2008 TCH) said sometime around late August-beginning of September. I hope that he is correct.

It's frustrating that we're here at the beginning of July and there is very little info on when the 2008s will be coming out.

I recently test drove the Corolla S Auto and Camry CE 2.4 Auto and i prefer the Camry over-all.

The OTD price quoted was $18,549 @4.9% APR 60 months for the Corolla S with the following options:
    1. Extra Value Package
    2. Side & Curtain Airbags
    3. ABS Package
    4. All Weather Package
    5. Floor mats

The OTD price quoted for the Camry CE was $20,155 @3.9% APR 60 months with just the Floor Mats.

The internet people whom I dealt with, showed that both these prices are $1,000 under dealer invoice and include the ff:

    1. 7.75% NV tax
    2. $399 Doc fee (i.e. seems standard across all dealers here) :confuse:
    3. $28.25 Title fee
    4. $199 - Vehicle Etching & Registration (i.e. they claim that all of their cars have these) huh? :confuse:

The monthly payments for these two cars are about $25 +/- apart, thats why i'm really inkling towards the Camry

I want to ask for your opinion, specially those who are well versed in the pricing of these cars, whether these quotes are any good, a rip-off or should i bargain for less.

Thanks in advance to those who will respond.

Can anyone tell me what is the best i can expect for a 2007 LE V6 Automatic with Leather, Sunroof and Bluetooth? Thanks.
  • kiawahkiawah Member Posts: 3,666
Unless you are in california, these are very good target prices. If you can't meet them locally, then a trip to DC for no-haggle prices might be worth it as a vacation.
www.fitzmall.com and there are no doc fees for outofstate purchasers
  • wxguy1wxguy1 Member Posts: 1
First time seriously looking at Toyotas. I knew their pricing structure was different from other mfgrs, but really saw the downside.

The distributor system (middleman) drives how they outfit the cars and add their dealer-packs at the port or distributor lot. You get stuck with options you don't need which are probably split between the distributor and dealer. I've never paid for a dealer pack before anywhere, but there wasn't much room there. e.g. $349 for $15 worth of "sealer" and material.

Too little room to negotiate. Went across the highway and found a Nissan built the way I wanted for the listed Edmunds invoice. (dealers always have consumer invoices they'll show you, but usually is more closely related to the TMV prices)

Dealers make plenty of money with holdback and incentives. I'm not leaving anymore on the table than that.

I'm looking for the same car.
I have been quoted very similar.
The lowest was from Power Toyota Irvine at $20,998 and local small auto broker is offering $21,109.
Keep me posted on how things turn out.

Can anyone tell us if the price is reasonable?

    Thanks!!!

I purchased a 4-cyl SE camry at the a couple months ago in Southern California. It came with floor mats, rear spoiler, sunroof. MSRP 24,099. Paid $20,597.

I don't know if you can still get this pricing but if you play hard ball you might. What you do is call one dealer's internet/fleet department and tell them the other dealer (give a competitor's name) is offering to sell you the car for this much and would they be willing to match it.

The end of the month and the end of the quarter is the best time to deal because they want to make their quotas.

I lucked out by going to Power Direct's website at the end of the month and quarter. They had a couple of the car's internet price listed as $20,599. They did not have the color I was looking for. I printed it out and took it to Longo Toyota. They weren't happy but they matched the price and I gave them a deposit...but they had our second choice in color. The next day I went to Elmore Toyota, found the car with the color we wanted and even though they were not happy about the price they also matched it after getting the general managers ok. Longo easily refunded my deposit.

They both said the price was $1,500 under invoice. I think on top of them matching someone elses price they were also willing to do it because I wanted the alarm turned on and they make a little money off of that too. I paid $550 for the alarm and the out the door price (taxe, etc. incl) was $23083.

I think the dealers got upset about Power Direct's online pricing being published so low and possibly reported it to Toyota because I haven't seen this pricing since. Power Direct is currently advertising the pricing around Southbay Toyota's pricing.

    Best of luck to you.
  • nathan118nathan118 Member Posts: 31
    Thanks for the detailed response!

I called longo and told them Carson's low price, and he said they couldn't even touch that. He said they could budge maybe $100, but not $900. So he wasn't willing to match, let alone beat that price.

Carson has the exact colors I want, so I'm gonna hit them up tomorrow and take a look see. Thanks again for the info.

Quotes and what you actually pay can be two different things,, what matters is what you pay OTD price.
People often lose sight of the OTD price and concentrate on "fees" so what really matters at the end of the day is the OTD price.
  • nathan118nathan118 Member Posts: 31
Bought my 4 cyl Camry SE today for $22,900 OTD. Carson toyota dropped the price another $200 when I mentioned coming back tomorrow. That put the quote at $20,909 for a 4 cyl camry SE with spoiler, sunroof, and mats. Pretty darn good if you ask me, and so far I love it.

Now I'm just afraid to drive it, haha.
  • jack47jack47 Member Posts: 312
Actually a total OTD price is meaningless (for the purposes of this board) unless the doc fee and TTL is broken out.

Hello everyone. I'm in the Houston area and I'm looking for an '07 CE. What is the best price I should expect for this car? Also, if anyone knows any good dealerships in the Houston area, please let me know.

    Need Toyota Technical Help:
Imported Camry Hybrid to Canada today and urgently need to know how the DRLs can be rewired so they are ON ALL THE TIME.
Canadian law requires that the DRLs can not be defeatable (turned OFF) My Camry has this off position and the Feds don't like that. People have talked about cutting some wire to this off position? others talk about a jumper wire to by pass the switch? My US dealer said because I have the NAV system that, that option would not work. Need professional help?
    Thanks Voodoo

I bought a base LE Auto 4cyl for $20,100 OTD in April 2007 from NJ. Now with the 2008 model coming in market shortly, you should get a better deal, if not the same. If you're willing to drive 2-3 hours to NJ, you could end up saving about $1500 bucks.
  • sammya_mdsammya_md Member Posts: 69
I agree, it's hard sometimes to find the Toyota you want. Most of the camry's, SE espically (what i was looking at), had a sunroof if not more. All I wanted was a spoiler and that was it.

Ended up getting a VW that was on the lot in the exact color, MT, etc I wanted for basically the same price as a camry, can't complain there

I am also in the market for LE 4cyl Auto,
Can you please provide the break down, What options were there in the car,
  • lepingleping Member Posts: 2
I recently got three online price quotes for the car only from 9 dealerships (6 of them don't bother to reply).

    Power Toyota, $19,264, OTD $21,818
    Earnhardt Toyota, $19,415
    Camel Back Toyota, $20,400

I would appreciate it if you could let me know $19,264 and $21,818 are good prices.

I got a quote for 07 Le, basic $19,000+TTL from one dealer, when I brought this price to another dealer, they refused to beat it. Is this a good price to go into deal? I read some thread here 07 LE they got around $18,000(in CA). Is there experience from TX. I am in Houston. How can I break the price down?
  • next177next177 Member Posts: 1
    Roosterfish,

I'm from SoCal and can confirm prices for 07 Camry LE are at $18K (at least with the Power Direct autogroup). They had specials for the past 2 weeks at that price. I'm making the to Houston and considering getting a 07 Camry LE. Best pricing I've got so far is at $20K. I've called several dealers and they have not budged to match that pricing or even lowering the amount. Mind if I ask you which dealer is offering at 19K?
  • traccord1traccord1 Member Posts: 13
I think the Houston car market is really tough. Prices here always seem much higher than other places. I too will like to know the name of that dealership.

Ya'll should call up Toyota of Fort Worth. They'll sell the car @ $400 under invoice. IM me if you need the name of the internet Sales guy.

Hi. I'm in the hunt for a TCH in the Wash DC/metro area. The best I've been able to do is about 450 over invoice. I had one dealer at invoice, but I didn't care for the color. Anyone done any better? Yes, I've checked Fitz so I have a general sense of what their prices are.

In reality, prices in this area are all over the board. Had quotes of MSRP all the way down to invoice. And a range of really great salespeople all the way down to complete and utter arrogant *s. Crazy market on the 07s right now.

    Thanks.
  • jjyangjjyang Member Posts: 42
Is that the final price before tax or do you have to pay the destination fee? Either way, that's a great deal. I wanted badly to get rid of my old junk so when I got 1000 below sticker and an extra 500 more for the junker, I was a happy camper. Looking back though I think I could have probably gotten a little more off, but that might have been a tough bargain with the trade.

I wonder if you would get a better bargain when the 08 hit the lot?
  • mikel12mikel12 Member Posts: 17
Hi. I'm seriously thinking of buying the base model of LE V6 in Seattle. If anyone recently bought one, could you tell me the price/quote/dealer, etc? If not, anyone know which dealer 'might' have the best price in town?

    Thanks.
