    Options:
    VSC,
    Smart Key,
    Heated Seats,
    Mats/Mud-guard

    Price Before TTL: 28000.

I had a trade-in, so paid tax only on the difference. Other fees (license, registration, document etc.) came to about 290.

hwoodberry...Thats an excellent price. Can you tell me which city/state and the dealership you bought it from?...thanks

My dealer is asking for 369 license fee and 389 document fee.
You said that you piad only 45 for doc and 176 license fee. does license fee depens on state?
    Is dealer asking too much?
  • delphdelph Member Posts: 2
Gotta tell you the best price I can get for the same car in Austin right now is $18,200. Did you use a weapon in your negotiations or what?!?
  • wvgasguywvgasguy Member Posts: 1,405
Wow, $369 for license fee and $389 for document fee sounds outrageous. That's a token fee in WV just to cover the administrative costs for handling the paperwork. Sounds like your dealer found a new place to "hide" markups. Is it like that in all CA dealers?

I would have never asked a dealer about those fees in WV until the deal was done and I was signing papers. That's probably why they hide them there. Sounds dishonest (at least unethical) to put mark ups in that area of the transaction.
  • satul96satul96 Member Posts: 16
    Hi
I am in Arizona. Hey Can you explain what is all these fees about and dealer told me that license fee is constant and it does not vary and it depends on state..
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
Mistake #1: going to the dealer before you made a deal...

Mistake #2: not having an internet salesperson putting a hold and sold on the vehicle you wanted before you showed up:

Other than that probably just a typical BS car sales story that could and does happen at any manufacturer's dealership.

They should have offered you another vehicle in stock or coming in.

You're welcome, petomlin. Don't know if you are a homeowner or not; but if you really want to feel bad about taxes, look at our property taxes in South Carolina.

I live in a 2000 sq. ft. all brick home, .7 acre lot on the right side of the tracks; and my property tax bill was $295. for the year.

Oops. sorry. It's a Camry forum; but I just couldn't resist.

What should I pay for an 07 Camry LE 4 cycl automatic with two options: leather seats and alloy wheels (not including tax & title fees) Anyone have a similar purchase?

    Atlanta, GA

Just signed a purchase agreement less than an hour ago on a 2007 Camry XLE V6 (Black with Bisque interior) for my wife with:

    * Heated Seats
    * Smart Key
    * Vehicle Stability / Traction
    * Extra Mile Pkg G (Spoiler, carpet mars, trunk mat, trunk organizer, first aid, ext. tile warranty, more)
    * Vehicle Shield Package (extra sound insulation, lusterizing sealant, rental car)
    * Sirius Satellite add-on package
    * 1 Year Free Oil Changes

    Total (w/o TTL): $28,761

MSRP: $31,002 (w/o Sirius add on, so actually around $31,500)

Will take delivery the last week of May! This has basically everything except for navigation!

Are you serious? $295 for a year? LOL!!!!

Try 11K for the year. New Jersey and you - perfect together.
  • ieee_raiderieee_raider Member Posts: 20
    Yep. In Paris, Texas.

He was explaining there was a limited supply, so we actually bent on the color we wanted. We wanted a Blue Ribbon Metallic with Bisque, but he said all the ones scheduled to come into port in the next month or two had Ash interior.

great deal on taxes in rural South Carolina. Only downside is you have to live there.
  • steenhsteenh Member Posts: 103
Just bought an 07 LE 4cyl with Leather and Sunroof... out the door for $23,800 in Atlanta. Invoice plus TTT.

Dealt through the internet with World Toyota on PT Ind. Very nice experience.

Saw the reference to Sandy Springs Toyota... I've had a bad experience there as well. Would never go back. It was like living a Saturday Night Live skit on the worst car sales experience ever... Every stereotype come true.
  • 2007toyota2007toyota Member Posts: 9
Thank you thank you for the reply. - I live near PT ind. I bought my last Toyota from Atlanta Toyota. How do you like it so far? Did they plug in the leather seats locally?
  • blindmantooblindmantoo Member Posts: 139
:P Ordered a Black V6SE w/ Charcoal Leather PKG, NAV, Moonroof Pkg & XM back on March 22 - Finally received word that it will be built the week of June 5th. The most positive aspect of this news isn't that it finally has a birth date, but that minor tweaks to the line should result on fewer initial issues.

I bought an 05 Odyssey last year (first year for production), and many of the posted issues were non-existant on mine (which was built about six months after the initial builds).

Please advise price paid, NOT counting Tax, Title & License.
Since each state has a different TTL, posting the grand total of your purchase would not brief potential buyers as to the real purchase price.
The Ducumentation Fee would be part of the basic price paid.

I've been very carefully following the boards here, regarding pricing, since I'm currently looking to replace my car soon.

I'm looking at the Camry XLE V6. I've gotten Invoice price info from Edmunds, of course, and KBB. Both agree almost to the dollar except for a couple of options, and even those are within 15 dollars.

When I've contacted dealers about pricing, they always quote invoice as 400 - 500 higher than what is stated on Edmunds and KBB. Is there something I'm missing? Or, are they simply lying?

BTW - Even Fitzmall seems to list inflated invoice prices.

Thanks for any info or thoughts.

Read the fine print at the Edmunds new car site or use the search function in this forum. This has been discussed many times.
  • bobgwtwbobgwtw Member Posts: 187
Yep. I'm serious. I have friends in Jersey & Delaware & I know what you're faced with.

I was on the corporate merry go round - 6 diferent states - & ended up in SC some years ago. Best move I ever made.

Not Rural; one of the major metropolitan areas. I've lived in 6 other states & this, overal, is the best so far

I bought it from Toyota of Orlando, in Orlando. Just happened to be looking at the right time, it seems they start their ad campaigns the first of the month, and this was an ad car (this one was sticker priced $15988, had to add the doc fee of 595 plus ttt). Best I can tell that is about $650 under their cost. They have others, exact same model sticker priced at 16995. It's a great car, not sure I am gonna like the the 'super white' color though, but I didn't have a choice at that price....

  • hwoodberyhwoodbery Member Posts: 5
No negotiating at all just happened to have luck in showing up at the dealer when they had the ad car on the lot and told em I would take it, deal was completed in less than 1.5 hours

They have some more ce's with manual trans for a grand more 16990, plus their dealer fee of 595 + ttt)

When I said "out the door", I should have been more specific. I haven't paid yet, but have ordered it. Due in on the 15th. Won't be plug in leather though I don't know if that really matters that much.

This will be my wife's car. She had a camry before, bought at Atlanta Toyota, drove it 110k miles, gave it to a relative who's put another 60k on it and counting. I'm sure we'll like it.

Never been let down by a Toyota yet and have owned a bunch. Currently have 2 LC's with well over 100k and no sign of slowing down though I am getting rid of one of them. Gas prices too high for my traveling wife.
  • gen4gen4 Member Posts: 3
Reading this discussion I notice that almost nobody mention the APR they are getting in the negotiation. Or is it that you are paying cash?
Is not cheaper a Camry LE for 23K ODP with an 1.9% APR compared to other for 21K ODP with an 5.9% APR? or I'm wrong :confuse:

I know that your APR depends on you FICO score, but also toyota financial has different APR rates that affect the negotiation. Thank you.

I tried so-called Costco auto buyer service recently using their website. The Costco authorized dealer didn't call me for couple days. So I put my info on their web again, this time the authorized dealer called me, but he said he couldn't give me quote of the car over the phone and I must show up to meet him in showroom. We made an appointment then. Today I stop in their showroom on time, but the authorized dealer was helping other customer when I walked in. To my surprise, he handed me over to another sales rep who is NOT listed on Costo authorized dealer name list. I got a chance to take a look at so-called Costco membership price. For 07 Camry CE/LE/LE V6, they set $500 above invoice(this invoice is apparently different from the one on KBB or Edmunds, and sales rep insisted this is called TDA or advertising fee). For 07 Camry SE/SE V6/XLE/XLE V6, they set $1000 above invoice. The non-Costco authorized dealer used costco pricing to quote the car for me, and I found it is higher than the quote I got from the Internet sales manager at this same dealership. I feel pissed off by the so-called Costco authorized dealer. He even didn't say anything to me when I left the showroom. I made appointment with him over the phone ahead, not just walked-in. The experience is really bad.

The sales tax is limited to 300 on purchase but each year residents pay a car tax that would probably be at least $1000 on 28,000. Then it goes down some each year.
  • tweliyingtweliying Member Posts: 23
you mean when SC residents renew tab each year, they have to pay $1000-2000 tax on their cars? ...
  • bobsalembobsalem Member Posts: 12
It goes down each year but the first 3 or 4 years are pretty pricey...
  • vaznayakvaznayak Member Posts: 1
I had a similar experience with the Costco authorized dealer in Houston, TX. I then went into another delership, and he simply pulled the prices up on his screen - MSRP, Dealer Invoice, etc., and then quote me $200 over their invoice price - and it was a few hundred $s letter than the price the Costco dealer quoted. And yes, the Costco contact not only behaved like I was an annoyance to him, but didn't really want my business even though I was ready to buy.

    Members of the board,
Anyone bought a 2007 Camry CE/LE Automatic with standard options in metro Atlanta area? Can you give me an idea about what would be the fair price? I am thinking of making an offer of $20,000 for CE and 21,000 for LE as 'out the door' price(car cost + TTT + doc fees). In my county tax is 6% and it seems whole Atlanta dealership union guys are sticking to their guns about charging $500 for the doc fee. Is that price OK? Or am I asking for too less? Any help is greatly appreciated...thanks
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
Costco is a fine deal for non-shoppers.

You won't get screwed but you won't get the best price possible either.

How any dealer's salesman treats you is a crapshoot. Some good, some bad.
  • dirtratdirtrat Member Posts: 5
I bought my Camry SE today with the Costco Auto Buyers program and thought it was a very good deal considering how few of the SE's are around my area and how new this model is.
The dealer said its $750 over invoice.

    2007 Red SE V6
    JBL Premium Sound
    Leather Package including Power seats
    Color Keyed rear spoiler
    Moonroof Package
    Vehicle Stability control with Traction
    Carpet Trunk mat set

    $26746.00

Out the door price with California's crazy tax and lic:

    $29,110.00

He also offered a extended Toyota warranty with 6 Year 75,000 for $885. Is this a fair price?

This is the Option Combination #B pacage off of Toyotas web site and they claim a MSRP of $29,445.00 for the same car that I bought.
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
    Great deal on the car!!

    Extended Warranty is high.

7 year/100,000/zero deductible for $880 and no sales tax.
  • dirtratdirtrat Member Posts: 5
Thats sounds much better. Can I buy the warranty from any Toyota dealer? Any recommendations? Also how does the price look on the car I bought? No money has changed hands but I thought it looked fair.
  • bobgwtwbobgwtw Member Posts: 187
True, but the State Legislature passed a law a couple of years ago that is reducing the tax to "0" over the next couple of years. If I remember corectly the move to "0" was to take place over 5 years; and I believe we're now in year 3.

i had similar experiencewith costco dealership...wemtin told her what iwanted on a se v6..she said she would lookit up and call me and give me a quote...she never did...i got the feeling that i was wasteing her time and mine
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
You can buy at any dealer AND USE AT ANY DEALER.

    Toyota of Greenfield, Greenfield MA

You can find them on the internet and email them.

They were the cheapest about 6 weeks ago.

    Toyota list is about $1,500.00

Car price is great. Looks like only $200-300 over dealer invoice depending on the area advertising charge.

Ok, I know this is a Camry forum, but part of my question does deal with my price for a Camry.

Three options; '06 Camry LE, '07 Camry LE, '06 Accord SE

'06 Camry is: Grey, Leather, Protection ($699 one), Inkei Alloy Wheels, Remote Security System, Side Curtain Airbags. Mgrs car with 5k miles. MSRP is $25,400. They agreed to $21,250 + TTL

'07 Camry is: Green, Cloth, Rear Lip Spoiler, Monochromatic Mirror, Alloy Wheels (from another Camry next to it). MSRP is $22ish. I am offering $20,400 + TTL.

'06 Accord SE. Silver, Cloth, dealer installed protection package of floor mats, trunk liner, etc. MSRP is $22,075. I am going to offer $20,000 + TTL.

I have an '04 Volvo XC90 that I am going to use as a trade...although they do not know this. So I am not worried about the 3% NC tax. Dealer fee on both lots is about $400.

Which one? Good prices? I haven't offered anything for the Accord, yet, so if I can come down some more, let me know.

    Thanks.
  • tinatinatinatina Member Posts: 388
    Good morning,

You should read the other threads for pricing on the Accord (if you have not already done so). There is a $750 Factory to Dealer incentive on all 2006 Accords (not a rebate). There are no incentives on the 2007 Camry, but there are incentives on the 2006 Camrys. I think pricing is probably a little lower than you indicated on the Accord. Nonetheless, its your decision to choose the vehicle that matters to you. If you buy, I would wait until Memorial Day Weekend for the best pricing on the Accord or the 2007 Camry. If you want the 2006 Camry, if you wait, the cars will be gone (if they are not already).
  • philliplcphilliplc Member Posts: 136
i know this is a camry forum, but since you asked you should be able to get an accord SE AT for well under $20k. there is currently $750 dealer cash at least through at least the end of the month, so a "good" price would be closer to $19k, if not under.

Went to my local toyota dealer in houston to buy a camry SE. Every single toyota has this extra Gulf States Toyota sticker on the car w/ an extra $1000-$2000 worth of BS thrown onto the car (protection package, pin stripe, wheel locks, etc)

Is there any way to buy the car w/o this stuff on the car. I imagine the dealer trick is to allow you a couple of thousand of the cost of the car, then you are only getting back to MSRP b/c of the $2k markup on the car. I hate dealers.
  • ieee_raiderieee_raider Member Posts: 20
Yes, you can get it without that. Do a custom order through the dealer.

If they won't do it, drive outside of town a little bit. I got a lot better deal in my town 2 hrs from Dallas than I could get in Dallas.
  • 2007toyota2007toyota Member Posts: 9
See 2907 - I am also in Atlanta and was thinking $21,000 on a LE 4 cycl with leather and alloy (not including ttt)
  • 007lev6007lev6 Member Posts: 6
I bought an LE-V6 last month with just leather and floor mats. The dealer selected one like this out of his future shipments from the factory with my color choice and told me it would be shipped on May 22nd. See message #2840 for detailed pricing. I went thru the Costco's buying service in Dallas and purchased at $300 over invoice with no money down. When my car arrives at the dealer, if it is not like we agreed, I walk away and start over. Just order what you want from the dealer and insist on no add-ons. The only down side is that it may take 2-4 weeks to get your car. That's fine with me as I have the time.
  • misnmtmisnmt Member Posts: 1
I'm looking at a new 2006 (or even a 2005 w/ ~15k miles). Does anyone know of any dealers in the Houston area that are willing to make me a great deal?
    Thanks,
    Brian
  • steenhsteenh Member Posts: 103
That sounds pretty good... maybe a couple hundred under invoice?
  • dirtratdirtrat Member Posts: 5
I've read 3 messages with Costco pricing being $1000, $750, and $300 over invoice. This seems to be a regional thing that decides which one it is. Also I've noticed that dealers seem to give better prices on the LE's since they have many more compared to the SE's and XLE's that are selling out faster or they have fewer of at least in my area. Anyway I'm happy with my $750 over invoice. I went to several dealers and I couldn't get it for this price from any of them. Only problem is the Costco dealer I had to go to (Hanless Toyota) has a unsatisfactory rating with the BBB where the others dealers in this area don't.
