I purchased the same car at the same dealer on the same day.
I paid $50 less than you but no floor mats .
The dealer didn't have my color , so I gave him $200 down
and 8 weeks to get the car or I will start all over again.

Just purchased the 07 Camry LE V6 for $21,350 before tax, tags, and license at West Covina Toyota, CA.
No options except floor mats and the color is Blue Metallic.
Total OTD is $23,400 which is only $250 over the invoice price.
Great place and great sales person. Give them a try if you are looking for a new car. :P

Interesting, I have an acquaintance whose brother works at Mechanicsville Toyota. I sent him an email to ask for a price on the Platinum plan. I will let you know what I get back.
  • fsowirlesfsowirles Member Posts: 195
Not bad. I found the same car w/NAV for $28,068 about a month ago. I bought it and had them add (at the port) a few other things. Now they are selling them for $400 more, so $28,468 w/NAV.

I think going with your own bank as far as financing can often be beneficial. Try that route first and then compare to what Toyota will offer. I have a high credit score number and have never been given a good financing percentage through any dealer. Have always gone through my local bank.

If the dealer thinks they can make some F&I (Finance/Insurance) money on you, they will sometimes knock a few hundred off of the price. I always use my credit union (if I finance), because no bank/manufacturer finance can touch the rates.

I'm in Ottawa, Canada and I'm also considering the SE V6 was wondering what package and price you got. I'm also considering the 4 cyl Se, but the the reduced fuel mileage on the 6 cyl is that much so I may spoil myself and get the 6 cyl.
  • gbabalukgbabaluk Member Posts: 70
    Hi from Winnipeg;
First, we paid the so called "MSRP" of $32,010 for our SE V6 without the Option "B" package. We traded in a 2003 Corolla LE auto with an Option "B" package(every option including heated seats) and they gave us $17,400 for it!
I have found over the past few years, that when buying an import in Canada, they don't budge too much off the MSRP but it can be made up with your trade if you push the dealer.
    Hope this helps;

Can you tell which options you got added to the V6

    Thanks

    gbabaluk,
You now own both the G35 and the SE V6. How do you think they compare? Thanks.
  • divaranidivarani Member Posts: 6
how much did you pay for your LE? what options?
  • gbabalukgbabaluk Member Posts: 70
First, our new SE V6 has everything BUT the following options:
    Power Passenger Seat
    Leather Seat Surfaces
    Heated Front Seats
    Power Moonroof
    Illuminated Vanity Mirrors
Electrochromic Rear View Mirror with Compass
    Rear Reading Lamps
To compare it to our G35 would not be fair but it is at least as FAST as the G35 in a straight line. It does not corner as well due to the Camry being a front wheel drive vehicle.
We were very surprised when we took the SE for a test drive.
It was best that we had tried and we drove the 2006 Passat, Jetta, Hyundai Sonata and Accord.

    Hope this helps;

Edmunds invoice price does not include TDA (Admin cost) which is passed on to the dealers.

    2007 Camry, XLE V6 - White
nav, heated seats, smart key, traction control - for $29,400.

Here are some fees I see on the Invoice - which I want to take off - since many of these are moot since the car is being shipped to them (literally)

    2% Holdback - $550
    PIO HOldback - $96
    Destination/Delivery/processing - $661
    T.A.F (Toyota Adver. Fund) - $449
    T.M.F. (what is this??)- $319
    1% Finance Credit Reserve - $275

Since this is being shipped I want to remove the holdbacks. Also, I don't know abou this TAF/TMF thing.

    Thoughts? :confuse:

    GOOD LUCK!

Also, I don't know abou this TAF/TMF thing.

    Read this forum.
  • kfriekfrie Member Posts: 3
Were you linking me to another forum that had the answer to what T.M.F. is? If so - I do not see the link.
  • parnolaparnola Member Posts: 141
kfrie - there's nothing you can do about the Toyota Advertising Fee, from my experience, but the 1% Finance Credit Reserve sounds like B.S. I have no idea what T.M.F. is.

I just ordered a similar car:
    2007 XLE V6 - Silver
Nav, heated seats, smart key, VSC / traction, floor mats.
    MSRP: 31,026
    I paid: $28,093
Edmunds Invoice: $27,438. My dealer claims $655 for the advertising fee (the difference between Edmunds invoice and what I paid), which seems a bit high, but it's close enough to invoice that I'm fine with it. This is in the Cincinnati region.

    Hello Guys
I am new to this forum. I would like to know your opinions. I am a new driver and this is my first car. I am interested in Camry 2007 LE 4 cyln automatic. I test drove this trim and I liked it. My dealer is quoting
19294 + tax+doc fee + Lic fee. I got this price after $400 rebate becos I am a new collge graduate. I liked its interior however I noticed one thing after driving Honda Accord,Sonata and this camry. I feel that when it start from rest initailly there is jerk of gear change at lower speed in automatic model. I am not sure becos I am new driver. I also feel the same jerk in accord ( it was less than camry) but not in sonata ( but this sonata was V6 I do not whether it makes a diff).

Can somebody clarify this doubt? and the deal I am getting is good or not.

Has anybody purchase LE and feel the same thing. what mpg you guys are getting?
    Thanks
    Atul.

I just purchased the Automatic Camry LE 4 cyl. b/ floor mats today.
OTD door price $21,528 :) ( I was told that this is $200 over invoice)
I just called the Dealership and thats what they offered.
Went in and signed the papers.
I know this may not be the best price, but after weeks of internet quotes and one visit to a dealership this is the best price I got in the SF bay area. Some dealers didn't even bother to respond to me when I offered $21,400 OTD.

Overall I had a great and no hassle experience at San Francisco Toyota where I ended up buying my car.
  • tinatinatinatina Member Posts: 388
    Hello,

I'm in the SF Bay Area. What was the price before taxes, license and doc fee. Two weeks ago, they indicated $19,500 plus TTL. I balked.

Did you go with the [non-permissible content removed]. Silver? I was waiting for one to come in.
  • satul96satul96 Member Posts: 16
    Hey
I am also getting almost the same deal in phoenix, $21600 OTD for LE Auto with mats. I am also looking for auto dimming mirror with compass. dealer said it will cost $200 more. I was told $250 over invoice.
Hi can you please calrify one thing. I am new driver and I test drove LE auto. I felt a bit jerk when it starts from rest (during first gear change).am I thinking too much or what. In view although I am new driver, a driver should not feel any jerk when gear is changing except a smooth shift..

It would be great if you can explain a bit.
I plan to buy a car this weekend.

After a combination of internet/phone/in-person efforts, this is what I was able to sign for in Maryland:

    SE-4 Magnetic Grey/Charcoal cloth
    JBL system
    Spoiler
    Sunroof (unfortunately)
    Stability pkg
    Floormats
    Wheel locks
    no dealer processing/admin charge
    23,076 before tags/title/tax

I had wanted XM and heated mirrors, but didn't wasn't interested in a undefined wait, based upon the experience of others here. The quoted charge for the XM was $359 plus an installation fee of $270 (where they had put their additional profit no doubt). That was just more than I was willing to pay, so pulled the XM out of the deal and took this "standard" vehicle which was already scheduled to arrive next week. This was a UBS referral, though I think the pricing was modified somewhat. The Fitzmall pricing was my benchmark and was able to undercut that substantially, so was happy. It's difficult to be kind and firm in these processes, but I would recommend both.

It is also difficult to buy a car that is in relatively high demand, and I particularly dislike the Toyota "packaging" of options.

Good luck to all - I hope you can do better. Jim

:confuse: I received a quote of $22,900 for an LE, with leather, night vision mirror upgrade, rear spoiler, carpet mat set, security system. They are adding $635 Del/Proc/Hand and a $795 Fee. Would you consider this a good price (including the last two additional chgs) or should I negotiate further? I see the V6 is having tranmission problems, is the 4cyl having the same? They're offering $4,500 for my 2000 Blazer.
  • lakewolveslakewolves Member Posts: 3
Satul96, which dealer did you get $21600 OTD price for LE Auto with mats in phoenix? I want to buy the same car around phoenix.
  • petomlinpetomlin Member Posts: 103
You ask: "Would you consider this a good price (including the last two additional chgs"

Allow me to ask you question: Is it worth it, to you, to find another dealer, in order to avoid paying $1330 in "additional fees"?

Personally, I'd drive 6 hours away to save $1300. Of course it is YOU who must decide this for yourself.

    good luck. :)

I ordered the exact same package 3 weeks ago. Paid $22,400 plus tags/title/tax. Let me know how you like yours!

Anyone know how much of a discount one can get on a 2006 Camry, now that the new 2007s are here?

2006 XLE, 4cyl auto, sunroof, cloth, JBL, and steel wheels

    Thanks

Reduced financing or $1,000 cash back in the Pacific Northwest.

Check your own area at Toyota.com

fsowirles. Just curious, what do you think a good rate is for a 3 or 4 year loan? Bankrate.com shows 5.8-8% for North Jersey.

I got a 4 year loan from Toyota for a Sienna for 5.5 about a year ago. Thanks.

Before TTL with the floor mats was $19,588.
  • rollymollyrollymolly Member Posts: 7
I'm not sure about the jerk, but i did feel it. I just thought that it has to do with a 4 cynlinder engine, since my last car was not. I hope this helps, but I can't say much about that since i don't know too much about cars.
  • rollymollyrollymolly Member Posts: 7
I went with the Magnetic Gray. I wanted the Silver but they didn't have it. Silver is nice, but I had to wait 10 days.

I asked 4 local dealers in Florida for quotes on '07 LE V4 AT that must include all fees, tags, and taxes. They call it the "out the door" quote and they all assured me the quotes include everything. Two of them have quoted about $22300 and the two others have quoted about $20800. A difference of $1500 is a lot of money. Anybody have any idea whose trying to stick it to me?

Great you also feel the same way. I thought that I have an illusion. I just wrote what I felt. I do not have any expertise in cars. I guess that is how 4 cylinder engine works. It is part of car picking up speed.
How is your new car going. I am sure you are enjoying your new car. by the way congrats for your new car.
I am also planning to purchase LE auto.
    hey Keep posting your experiences.
  • satul96satul96 Member Posts: 16
I talked to couple of dealers. I was talking to BIG two toyota , Power tempe toyota and Camleback toyota. all of them first quoted me 19994 as invoice price including mats.
BIG two toyota then stripped 250 off and other 200 off.
finally BIg two offered 400 as new college graduate rebate.
So he finally offered 19294.I have not talked to other two dealers about college graduate. I am sure I will get from them also becos it is on toyota website.
I am still not sure wheather this price is good. ( 19294) from BIG two toyota.
Plus one thing which is hitting my mind is that jerk when car picks up speed from start. I do not know whether it is normal for 4 cyln since I am a new driver.
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
~$700-800 over dealer invoice depending on your area's advertising charges.
  • jbgrahamjbgraham Member Posts: 34
SUK - It was Glen Burnie (formerly Brown's) Toyota. Good luck. Jim
  • lakewolveslakewolves Member Posts: 3
Satul96, thank you for the information. The invoice prices seems high compared with Edmunds price. New college graduate rebate is for finance or lease through Toyota Financial. $21600 OTD price seems high with $400 rebate included. I have never heard of jerk.
  • tinatinatinatina Member Posts: 388
Thanks for the information. They'll have two LE 4s in [non-permissible content removed] Silver with just the mats sometime in mid to late May.
  • cdallencdallen Member Posts: 3
Satul96: I was looking around the phoenix area four weeks ago. I suggest that you find your best price and then take it to internet department at right toyota and tell them to beat it. Or simply go straight to them and ask for invoice + (a number). On two separate occasions I found them to go lower than anyone in town.
  • satul96satul96 Member Posts: 16
    Hi lakewolves

I think you are right. All these dealers they tell me 19444 as the invoive price and one of them said that if you feel like you can have look at my invoive? As per edmunds website invoive price ( including mats and destination) = 19042.
about the toyota financial option, I guess you are right. however he did say anything that I have to finance through toyota. I talked to him on phone. I think if I go there he will put up this condition.

about the slight jerk I do not know I felt it, May it is part of car picking up speed.
  • satul96satul96 Member Posts: 16
    Thanks cdallen

I will try that. I will talk to right toyota today. Can I ask thme to beat the price on phone? or it not suitable to do that on phone.
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
All these dealers they tell me 19444 as the invoive price and one of them said that if you feel like you can have look at my invoive? As per edmunds website invoive price ( including mats and destination) = 19042.

Read all of the info on Edmunds or this Forum from the beginning if you want to learn something:

The invoice price does not include any fees that may be charged by the manufacturer to dealers in a particular area of the country, such as local advertising fees. Edmunds.com does not track or provide such local fees.

If an advertising fee appears on the invoice, it is an actual cost that the dealer paid to the manufacturer when buying the vehicle. In other cases dealers may choose to write in their own ad fees on the consumer sales contract. However, in either case these advertising fees are just one example of the dealer's cost of doing business. As with all such dealer-itemized fees, consumers should treat as "negotiable" any advertising fee they are asked to pay.

Drive another car, re: your jerk.

Anybody used the Costco membership pricing?

What kind of prices are you paying for Camry LE, 4cyl auto, sunroof?

and Camry XLE 4cyl auto, leather?
