gajohn, The only info I have on prices in Atlanta has been from people in this forum. A couple of people have posted about good deals from Troncalli Infiniti, around $2000-$2500 off MSRP on the sedan. I went for a test drive with a guy at Roswell Infiniti and he claims that they sell more Infinitis than anyone else. I plan on testing them both out to see what kind of deal I can get.

Is there any rebates for customers that own an Infiniti at this moment. When I bought my 2001 G20 in Nov 2000, they used to have rebates for loyal customers.

    Hey All,

I am thrilled to say that I bought my G35 Blk/Willow Leather Prem/Sport/Aero Auto for 32,086 +tax/Title. I think it was a good price. The purchase was from Infiniti of Tampa. The salesman, Chris P. was very nice and I did most of the price talk via the internet. But things got ugly when I went to get the car.

Dealer Pass Through: I had a Blk Loaded Maxima SE '01 that I got a private buyer for. We negotiated and he suggested we do a 'dealer pass through with the Infiniti Dealer. This is where the dealer buys the car as trade for the price your private buyer is buying. You are only taxed on the difference like a trade and then the buyer purchases the car from the dealer. Well the dealer said no problem.

Then while I will filling out the final paperwork on the car, the salesman comes in and says 'I forgot to mention there is a $400 fee for the pass through. It turned into a 2 hour ordeal with the GM who as a total SOB to me and my buyer. Eventually he agreed and said he was taking the 400 bucks out of his salesman's salary. So I got my price but really felt crappy about the whole thing.

So that was my venting. My advice, try Lokey Infiniti in Clearwater. They were trying to get me but were not open on Sunday which was when my buyer could be in the area for my Maxima.

Thanks, just wanted to share. I do love the car though.

What's the price nowadays for a nicely equipped G35 w/o nav? Can you get it around $31,500?

    Thx, Anita

    bddaily & fcheng,

Thanks for the info on this dealer. I'm looking to lease a G35 at a great dealer in the chicagoland area and wondered if you could let me know who you dealt with there.

    Thanks.

I don't see many G35 Coupe owners posting what they paid? I'm entertaining the thought of buying one fully loaded, including the nav system. I'm wondering how much other people are paying? Thanks!

I purchased my G35 last night! Not much price research (impulsive type), just called the dealer and heres what I got:

    Black Obsidian/Black Interior
    Sport
    Moonroof
    Winter Package
    Leather
    Xenons came standard

    MSRP $32,140
Purchase Price $30,640- $1500 off MSRP

Not sure if I did ok price wise, but I love the car.
  • srhaddensrhadden Member Posts: 9
    njkud,

Is that a Coupe or Sedan? Everyone always forgets to mention that :-).

Please post more about your experience. So does that mean it has the premium package? Not too familiar with the packages for the sedan.

I also heard someone saying that price wise, these cars are still new and in demand so they don't give very low values.

I'm plugged in your options into edmunds with the 4d Sedan with Leather, Xenon, and Winter package (couldn't find moonroof) and see how close it matches the TMV. Came up with $30,443, which seems about right if you have to add the moonroof.
  • njkudnjkud Member Posts: 3
    srhadden,

Sorry, It is the Sedan. I did not get the premium package. I didn't want the Bose, dual zone climate control, memory seats etc.
I just got the Sport Package, Winter Package, Moonroof, Leather, and the Xenons were standard.

I called one dealer(Lisle) and he had the identical car with the Bose and Spoiler. Both of which I did not want. He said if I bought before Friday 2/28/03, he would knock $1500 off the MSRP. Seemed like a fair price however I didn't want to pay for the extra stuff.

I called another dealer(Glenview) and they actually had the exact car I wanted. I stated that I didn't feel like driving 25 miles to haggle on a car and not come up with a price and that I wanted the same $1500 off that the other dealer offered. The salesman was hesitant to deal over the phone, but I convinced him that I was a serious buyer and would come in immediately and make the purchase. He called me back in about an hour and said to come in and pick it up. Everything was smooth from there. 5.75% for 48 months financing ( I could have done better I think) Overall it was a quick painless process.

    njkud,

I see some earlier posts in this townhall about good deals at Infiniti in Orland Park, did you talk/deal with them at all? I never did see anyone specify a price from Orland Park.

Through an internet request, I had Glenview quote $1500 off MSRP so I think your price wasn't bad.

I tried to "impulse" buy a G35 sedan in January from Lisle, but they were only off MSRP $1000 and were low on my trade-in, in my opinion. Its unfortunate because the salesman was very helpful.
Now that I've found this web site, I know MSRP minus $1000 won't cut it and am going check some more dealers.

Anyone get $2000 or more off MSRP on a sedan within 300 miles of Chicagoland?
  • srhaddensrhadden Member Posts: 9
So, you're saying that $1500 off MSRP is about the going rate in the Chicago area? Do you think that applies to the coupe as well?

jmenne1, did you use edmunds to calculate how much your trade-in was worth? Did you mention that at the dealer? How close was it?
  • jmenne1jmenne1 Member Posts: 8
    srhadden,

From what I've found, $1500 off MSRP is about the going rate in Chicago for a sedan. I haven't seen anything below MSRP for the coupe....yet! I heard there is still a waiting list (willing to pay MSRP) for coupes.
Let me know what price you end up with and at which dealer. We should be able to match the better deals listed here with all the Chicagoland Infiniti dealers.
On the trade-in question, I had looked at kbb, intelliprice and black book and thought the dealer was $1500-$2500 low (10%-15%). Subsequently, the dealer manager called me to discuss and came up a little on the trade and said he had some more homework to do.

I have wanted this car for about a year now and I finally pulled the trigger on this past Friday. I bought the G35 sedan Silver with Graphite leather, premium, package, wood package, and the trunk mat (MSRP $33715) for $31325 at Roswell Infiniti. Overall my experience with the dealer was great. I had a competitive price from another dealer in Atlanta and Roswell matched it with no haggling. They even gave me a good price for my trade. The whole experience took only 2.5 hours and I drove away with my car. It rained all weekend here so I have only put about 20 miles on it since then but I can't wait to get it out tomorrow.

    njkid,

I had to order that configuration from Japan to get that car. I wanted Silver, but no one, I mean, no one, had a car without premium and with the sport package without either the bose or the aero. I do not think too many people want this configuration. Have fun with it. By the way, I am in southern NJ and ordered my car from Long Island and got it for $750 over invoice (back in January).

I actually talked to one dealer who said he doubted i would ever be able to find the options we got without either the bose or premium. Most dealers I spoke with didn't want to order one. That is partially why I impulsively jumped at it when I found my car. 98 miles and I love it so far. Not to sound dumb, but what is the invoice price with those options?
  • andyfinandyfin Member Posts: 2
Just wanted to plug in my 2 cents regarding the price for a G35 Coupe. I was unfortunate enough to fall in love with the Coupe and so for the last three weeks I've been calling around and searching, looking for a Brilliant Silver with Black leather interior. I was pretty flexible on everything else except I wanted the Premium pkg including the Bose system. Well, I finally got a call from Cerritos Infiniti today that they had what I wanted. It included the Navigation system which I honestly could have done without, but will probably enjoy anyway. They really are working you over by practically forcing you to either add the sports package (incl rear spoiler) for about $1800 extra, or purchase the Lojack/Alarm for around the same. It's just their way of making you pay over the MSRP for the car. Anyway, I payed a little over $38K before TTL. This included the Nav which is $2K and the Lojack and alarm. I really wanted the car and didn't really have any leverage, so I know I made my sales person a bundle today. For that price, they did include some b.s. paint protector coating thingamabob...(not the technical name..lol) and gap insurance. I got a good loan rate too...4.49% Since I love the car and really wanted it, I'm not unhappy, but I do realize that I pretty much bent over for them. Hopefully next time I fall in love with a car it will be something cheaper and less in demand. The biggest pain for me of course is the $3.1k that Gray Davis gets in the way of my sales tax. If that isn't money going down the drain, I don't know what is. Argggghhhh! Anyway, hope the pricing info helps everyone.

When you folks talk about invoice, does it include the $400 (or some other amount) MA (I was told it is a marketing assistance). Should we pay that also?
    Thanks!
  • srhaddensrhadden Member Posts: 9
    Andyfin,

So you got the coupe with:

    1. Premium Package
    2. Nav System.
    3. Aero Kit w/Rear Spoiler

What else? With these options on edmunds I get a TMV $36,241 for the Chicago area.

I noticed there are no heated seats on the coupe. Is that true? I am thinking of stopping by a dealer this friday for a "demo".

I think a canary yellow would be nice. Anyone know if they will add a convertible to match the 350Z also?
  • gperrgperr Member Posts: 163
    njkid,

"Our" configuration with an MSRP of $32,140, which included the trunk mats has an invoice of $29075.

I also had to pay the marketing assessment, which is different in each region. I paid $30,201 which was as follows:
    invoice-----------------------29075
    marketing assessment--376
    profit over invoice---------750

I ordered the car and waited for 3 months for it to come in. I am happy with the dealership and my deal. Others have gotten a G35 Sedan a little cheaper- by a couple hundred- but I got exactly what I wanted, nothing more, nothing less- and a great experience with the dealership. i live in Southern NJ and ordered from North Shore Infiniti in Long Island- about 95 miles away. I do not regret it for a second. Love my G.

just please- no more snow. I have no garage- so my car is out in the evil bad weather- so hard to keep clean and shinny.

    gperr
  • andyfinandyfin Member Posts: 2
Just to clarify, I did not end up getting the sports package w/ rear spoiler, but the reason my price was 38k instead of 36k was because I included the cost of the Lojack and Alarm, which I'm sure I got screwed on.
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
No, you shouldn't pay Marketing Assistence or Regional Advertising Fees, or anything similar. They want you to pay them for advertising their product -- right, that would be like paying an extra nickel per can of Pepsi so they can recoupe the cost of having Britany Spears ads during the Superbowl. It's negotiable, and you can get it dropped. The only way you'd have to pay it is if all the dealerships in your area banded together and none of them was willing to drop the fee. Here's a sight with some tips on what to watch out for: www.carbuyingtips.com

Has anyone bought a G35 sedan in KC recently?Looking to buy one very soon.
  • needashaveneedashave Member Posts: 91
I was wondering if any recent Chicago G35 buyers can share their pricing information. I've been to two dealers and they are offering only $1000 off of MSRP. This seems high given some threads indicating buyers getting close to $2500 off. Any info would be appreciated. Happy motoring.

That carbuyingtips.com is a good website, especially their spreadsheet which takes out the smoke and mirrors tricks that the dealers are using to confuse the buyers.

Thanks, Ryoken, it made my negotiation pretty simple. I was able to fall back on the spreadsheets that I prepared for 3.5% and 4% of the dealer's profit. After the dealer said "No, I can't delete the MA" and he added $400 back to 3.5% worksheet, I was able to get a few useful extras free and wound up paying about 4.5% on top of dealer's cost.
  • norbert444norbert444 Member Posts: 195
I think I have received a good education at the website that ryoken has recommended. IMHO I have concluded a successful negotiation and found out the following:

$$ off MSRP is the worst of the criteria of how good a deal you get because it depends a lot on the configuration of the car. (I wound up with $2052 off for a car with virtually no options but also got a free oil change, parts and triflets.)

$$ over invoice is better. (For me, it was about $270 for a no-frills car after I figured in what I got in extras.)

% profit over dealer's cost is best. (About 4.5% with everything counted.)

BTW, Edmunds education was worth quite a bit, also. By that, I mean not only the "official" stuff but also contributions of others in these chat rooms. It all makes buying a car a much more pleasant experience, no matter what kind of sales person you run into.

Just my 2c payback, hope it helps.

I just wanted to put this out there...
    Tampa:
I bought my Black with Willow leather G35 sedan with Prem/Sport/Aero/automatic for 32,086 from Infiniti of Tampa (that is 2% over invoice). Lokey Clearwater was even offering to beat that price. I was not thrilled with the sales staff, but the price is pretty good. I have 900 miles on car now and am loving every minute of it...

Atlanta buyers: I have also seen Nalley Infiniti advertising 2.5% over invoice on their g35 sedans. That is just an FYI for you all in the southeast region...

I don't know the current sale prices, but it was reported on freshalloy.com that the base sedan got an MSRP increase of $700 effective 3/4. Coupe went up $150.

I was looking for a G35 Coupe in Brlt Slvr or Diam. Grphite, w/Aero and Tire pkg. After calling 3 dealerships in Chicago, none had that, let alone ANY on the lots. Infiniti of Lisle has a waiting list; the one in Libertyville does too. Just for the heck of it, I visited the website of Motorwerks in Barrington, and their online inventory said they had my EXACT car! I was skeptical however because alot of dealerships don't keep their sites updated. Anyways, I called right away, and after anxiously being on hold for a few minutes, the salesman told me it WAS available. I immediately left work and put down my deposit (I have to wait til next week to pick it up, since it was their showroom car, and need to replace it with another!). It's CRAZY how fast these are selling. While I was signing the papers for the car, TWO other people came in inquiring about the car! Phew!
Needless to say, due to the supply/demand for this car, no deals are possible, at least in the Chicagoland area right now. 2 months ago Lisle was offering $1K under MSRP, but they dropped that after realizing the demand for this car. I paid MSRP, not one cent under. Some people in this area are offering to pay ABOVE MSRP if they could take someone else's car that's on "reserve".
I'm so psyched about my luck. Two other people I know at work put their order in in January and still have to wait til May to get their car!

I'll post again when I pick up my car next week - maybe Motorwerks will have some more by then? Doubt it!

Just picked up my G35 Sedan from Infiniti of South Atlanta. Desert Platinum, Willow interior, Premium Package and trunk mat. MSRP of $33,465. I had no trade just a straight purchase. My deal was: I paid invoice of $30,216 plus $393 (advertising on dealers invoice, this was consistent in Atlanta area), plus $398 dealer prep fee, plus $18 tag title fee, plus $3 lemon law fee and 6% sales tax. (I opted to have the dealer go out of state to pick up this car for an additional $150. Had it been in the local area there would not have been this additional cost) Total out the door of $33,048.50.

I was satisfied with the dealer, they were quick, professional and pulled no punches. I had pretty much studied the car so I didn't require a lot of hand holding by the dealer.

Considering a G35 since BMW offered me a good buy, but lousy trade on my 1997 BMW.

Infinity salesman says "Sticker price, PERIOD". He claims other areas geting OVER MSRP, but Buffalo is soft market so this is just like getting a discount.

I gather from here the sales guy just might be streaching the truth a bit (who would've thought that in car saled).

So .. can I get better and how? Given his attitude, do I Just say: "Invoice + X$ or no deal"? If he won't move, then what? Go home and wait?

I won't put up with all the BS some places do: move $100 at a time, checking with manager, pushing a lease, offering 88 month finance deals, keeping me waiting forever to wear me down and allthat fun. I just want to buy a damn car at a decent price.

    Suggestions?
  • cheerioboy26cheerioboy26 Member Posts: 412
are you talking coupe or sedan? coupes are still selling AT MSRP in many places, although reports of under MSRP pricing are just starting to trickle in.

Sedans are selling 1500-2000 under MSRP I believe.

For example, my local dealer in MD has about 60 sedans and only 2 coupes in inventory.
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
It depends on which model you're looking at. Sedan or Coupe? Auto or 6MT? The automatic Sedans are no longer at MSRP, and you can get "normal" car buying discounts on them. The automatic Coupes are in a bit more demand, but people are getting several hundred off for them. If you want a manual tranny, you're gonna pay sticker, be it a Sedan or a Coupe.
  • gdevinneygdevinney Member Posts: 20
Oh yea! Model! Forgot that .. <DOH>.

Am looking at an Auto Coupe!

I didn't ask, but got the impression he meant no discounts on any G35. Interesting issue. Maybe I'll ask.

You know ... It seems to annoy some places when you change your mind on stuff like that ...... I wonder why.

Just bought my G35 Carribean Blue sedan at Dorschel in Rochester, NY

The MSRP was $32,785 (Leather, Auto, Sunroof, Bose, Winter Pkg, and trunk mat).

I got the car for the the Edmund's TMV price of $31,644 along with the molded splash guards thrown in for free.

Thank goodness I checked the Edmund's site Friday night -- the prices were updated and now show Invoice price which was a huge bargaining chip.

While Dorschel's willing to negotiate on Automatic sedans, their holding firm to MSRP on 6-speed sedans and all Coupes. I suspect Autoplace in Buffalo will do the same.
  • gdevinneygdevinney Member Posts: 20
    97sunfire:

Thanks for the Info. Autoplace Infinity in Buffalo said the same - no discount on the Coupe, but "a few hundred" on the Sedan. Said they can sell all the coups they get. I haven't gotten down to brass tacks, and don't know if I will .... but sounds like he's serious and that you did pretty good.

Was yours no trade (or a fair trade price)? They quoted mine @ 4K below what I expect, but said that's "flexable". Wonder if $4K more is in the bounds of what they consider "flexable"

Guess a Rochester trip for me isn't worthwhile!

Enjoy that car .. definately a fun ride, but think I may wait until prices soften.

I am interested in seeing what kind of lease payments people are getting on the coupes. I am interested in leasing one and would like to know what the monthly payments are looking like with total up-front out of pocket expense. I saw on infiniti's website that they charge $600 sec. deposit along with $450 application fee. Are these 2 items negotiable?

Hope you are enjoying your car. I have been looking at the Carribean blue, but I would like a black interior, most come with the willow interior (I checked with Huntsville AL, Birmingham AL, Chattanooga TN, and Nashville TN). The only one with a black interior had the full Aero package and a price of $38k. I am looking for premium package, winter package, auto.

What color is your interior and did you have a choice?

Also, after you have had it for a while, please let us know how the carribean blue color does for showing dirt. I am talking about normal everyday dirt...not dirt from snow.

    Thanks...

I traded my 97 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible w/67K miles. I used the "clean"/"good" ratings from KBB, black book, and Edmunds for trade-ins. They started at $3,500, but I got them to the correct value of $4,200. Hope this helps!

I just picked up the car tonight - WHAT A BLAST!

I got the black interior with the caribbean blue.
In general, I think the graphite interior looks better than the willow offering. The black interior just looks like it came out of German car; the willow interior reminds me of a Camry.

I'm also having a brushed aluminum interior trim kit installed since the console is all black without the sport package.
