While the kit comes with 45pcs for $211.00 plus shipping, I don't plan to install every part.
I'll send pictures once it's installed late next week.
Price seemed fair to me... Was it???
I shopped 2 dealerships before purchasing.
Infiniti of Lisle offered a very aggressive price. (More than 2K off MSRP) I had such a positive ownership experience at Infiniti of Orland that I decided to purchase again from them. They met competition on the price. I would highly recommend this dealer. The service shop has been excellent.
The G35 is a blast to drive!
I went to the infiniti dealer in northern VA they told they won't be getting the 6speed sedan for another 2 months I had thought they were already shipping them...What area are you out of? I would think that the 6speed would be an 04 or an 03.5 are there any interior differences between the 03 and your model? Thanks
Wish to add one warning to others though...If you are considering a Lojack, BE SURE to ask to see a copy of the LJ OWNERS MANUAL! and not just their flyer the dealer will likely show you. Considering the substantial prices being asked for this add-on, make sure you see and understand all the gotchas (which ARE NOT in the flyer). Reason ?: You normally receive the real info found only in the manual AFTER purchasing the package like I did. Once I read the warranty and coverage details at home, I really wish that I hadn't spent many bucks for it. Suffice it to say that I think Lojack thinks more of "money" than "money's WORTH."
More to come on the driving experience as I mentally adjust from many years of driving my '94 MB E320. Benz was a great car - just couldn't justify the cost of normal maintenance and the replacement of worn parts. With the G's performance and features, I don't think the adjustment will take too long.
Could you say which automall is doing the promotion this weekend in NorCal?
I am starting talks with Easton at Jim Coleman regarding a Sedan w/ Leather and the same options as you. Did you just offer $450-500 over invoice(and not budge) or start at invoice ? Which method worked for you ?
KC
450 miles on it and it's a gas guzzler. Getting around 18-19mpg, mostly city driving. Should go down after the car breaks in.
I plan to test-drive a sedan next week, along with a Lexus IS300 sedan and sportcross. Doubt that I'd go for the coupe, since I'd have to go $35+, and I expect the prices to come down over the next six months (with corresponding depreciation hit.) My preferred price range is $27-30k.
i am very interested to see what price anybody has recently been able to negotiate at any of the 3 particular dealerships...there sales sure seem a bit hardlined for how many are sitting on each lot
Houston G lookers - Listen get a quote from grubbs in dallas it is a 4-4.5 hour drive depending on what side of town you live on but if it saves you 1-2k I would say it is worth it. I live pretty close to southwest infiniti and they are swimming in G's and FX's(what I'm looking at). Get a quote from grubbs take it in and ask them to match it if not head out on a fun weekend to dfw.
Hope it's not too late for you, I just made my offer and did not budge, had also some prints with previous messages from this forum showing "frequent" deals for $500 over invoice...

I submitted online requests to 4 dealers. Only one has replied and it has been three days. Here is the response from the one local fleet mngr.
==============================
2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan Luxury Leather
Automatic Transmission
Exterior Color: Desert Platinum
Interior Color: Graphite Leather
Factory Options: Aero Package, Aerodynamic Body Kit (4-Piece), Premium Package, Navigation System, Sport Suspension Package, Trunk Mat
MSRP: $38,860
Special Internet Pricing: $35,520
That's all they are good for.
Then when you know what you want, go home and use your PC. Log in to the Infiniti website. Have them send you a brochure. You are now in Mr. Ghosn's computer system as a potential customer (yes, you will get juck mail, but perhaps a $1K+ certificate may be in there, or a VIP invitation to a test drive day)
Then do a search on the car you want. As a note, when you build your car, build it at the same time, in another browser window on the Edmund's site to compare options & $'s. Send it to one or two dealerships in your 25mile area. Do not send it to the dealership that you plan on doing business with. In your comments, make sure you reiterate the options and packages you want. They always seem to lose this and want to talk to you about it before sending you a no-haggle price.
Now, send your request to two dealers way the heck out of your area. Perhaps some little dusty town just past the armpits of hell. I also throw one over to the ritzy part of town (Bel Aire / Beverly Hills) The idea is that armpit locations may not move as many cars and will be happy to deal with someone who just wants the best deal. High class areas move a lot of cars and are used to people haggling for the best price (people with money tend to like to hang on to it).
Now you have the baseline for the deal you want to cut with your dealer. If he/she says sticker ask to see the fleet manager. If someone comes out saying they are the fleet manager, get their card. It could be the bad cop/good cop game. If the "fleet manager" needs to talk to someone regarding your offer, then they are not the Fleet Manager. The fleet mananger can make deals without talking to anybody.
I make it a point to never spend more than 1-2 hours total in the dealership doing paperwork. If I am left alone more than once while somone checks something out, I walk NICE AND LOUD - LATER FOLKS! I always let them know that I am not here to spend the day with them and I am not coming back (NEVER LET THEM WALK AWAY WITH YOUR LICENSE). I am not patient when I am spending more than $5,000 - why should I be when I am spending $35k? I work hard for my money and so should they. (p.s. - I guess I should also say that I comoe in preapproved from my credit union rather than playing with the finance dept.)
I gave my purchase price (sans any reference to "invoice") in MSG #540. With the packages I got and listed, it was the only such configured unit in the whole PHX area at the time. So you are facing a challenge. You'll note that I got only the partial Aero package, no SAT Radio, and no NAV system. Everything else is there, so a little extrapolation on your part should get you pretty close to a representative price.
Thanks for the response. I ordered a twilight blue sedan from Passport, which I expect to get in early Aug (maybe July). A post on FreshAlloy led me to the (new) color choice. The sales rep at Passport was more than willing to help me out. Easton, at Jim Coleman only seemed interested in making a quick (off the lot) sell, not trying to help me place an order. Oooh well...I'll be firm with my purchase price when the time comes...

This was my first color choice when I started looking back in the fall.
> I thought they cancelled Twilight Blue last year and the new color was Carribean Blue....
He stated that this would have to be a special order car. Because it is special order, the dealership (and supposedly all of them) will sell any special order at a mandatory $1K over invoice. This is because I might cancel my order then they will be stuck selling it. I said that this was ridiculous, although possible.
So I presented him with a couple of scenarios:
#1 Hey I actually by the car and you give it to me for the price that I want it for!
#2 I make his prophesy come true and walk on my perfect new G35. Then I come back and want to buy it, but they will have to deal with me.
I was told that if I did that, the dealership would tell me to buy the car somewhere else.
I responded by saying, or you could sell me the car for the price I want....
we ended the call agreeing to disagree and dealing straight with each other. I am now getting my quotes from other dealers and will get back with him.
I was also told that Infiniti special orders go in on the 5th. So if I order by May 4th, then my car would be built and delivered in July.

I'd say its a good deal.
he quoted me 31,265 not including tax and tags but from reading your posts that sounds like an awful deal ... how much were you able to get similar cars ... also he offered a 39 month lease at 393 month/5000(which includes tax and everything) (snip)
>>
The price he quoted was really the MSRP for that car (also includes trunk mat) - NOT a good deal. Run through the "Price it with Options" link on Edmunds. You'll find that the Invoice is around $28,264 and the TMV cost is $30,711. Spend some time on the site so you won't get snowed.
Easton is a smooth talker and comes off as being arrogant (to me)...But armed with this forum's knowledge and by doing your due diligence, you should get a better deal, esp. on one that's on the lot. Btw, if it sounds like a bad deal...it probably is.

MSRP 31,705
Invoice $28,698
Offered 30,405
Is this a fair deal and realistically, how much lower could I go? How much of a difference does it make that the car is on the lot? Thanks
