This is the base model with MSRP of 27,715. It's not hard to buy G35 2,000 below MSRP.

Why in the world would a dealership pay for your travel expenses?
  • stuartzstuartz Member Posts: 4
This may have been addressed in earlier posts, but why doesn't Edmunds show the invoice pricing on the G35? What other sites show reliable invoice pricing? thanks

I'm seriously thinking about getting a G35 Sedan later this winter. I'd appreciate comments from anyone whose bought in northern NJ recently. Where did you buy, how did you like the experience, what kind of deal did you get?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ed

I am shopping for a g35 in the Philadelphia area and would appreciate any input on experiences with the 3 local dealers and their relative prices. I have visited Ardmore so far. Thanks.

Just curious as they gave me a call today. If so, how was your experience during the negotiations? Thanks...Paul

Just picked up my G35 on Saturday Feb1. Bought it at Ramsey Infinite on Rt17. I liked the salesman and I got a December lease price. The car with my options was 31,800 I put down another $1,000 and my lease price for 42 months with 1,000 miles a month was $375.00 a month. I think I got a good deal. What do you guys think?

I just spoke with a dealer in PA regarding a special order sedan. She told me that on any special order with leather the BOSE upgrade system is a mandatory option - even though when I first discussed the order at the same dealer this was never mentioned. Can anyone shed some light on this. I find it highly unlikely to be true.
  • bigorange30bigorange30 Member Posts: 1,091
Is it to the BOSE system or is it a BOSE upgrade on their own system? Why would you not want the BOSE system? Anything less would be undesirable. It must be expensive if you are considering not getting it.
  • mfrattonemfrattone Member Posts: 3
It is a BOSE Upgrade to their existing system. It's on;y about $900 - but I hate when salespeople lie to add to the total otions.

    mfrattone,

I special ordered my G35 Sedan at the end of September (October processing) and received my car 1/11/03. I ordered with Sport/winter/roof. I did not want the Bose or the Areo or the premium. So you can order without the Bose. No complaints, my standard 6disc indash CD changer w/ steering wheel controls is just fine for me.

While doing my due diligence on a G35 Sedan I contacted, Sams Club,
Autobytel and three dealers by phone or e-mail. Based on several posts I
decided to e-mail Infiniti of Orland Park. I was contacted by Infiniti of
Orland Park within a couple of hours. I told them what I wanted. I was
given a price by phone that was significantly better than any other dealer
or buying service in the Chicago Land area. A couple didn't bother to repond.

Today I drove the 120+ miles (round trip) to value my trade an confirm the
    price. The price was
exactly as verbally supplied via phone last week.

It was a simple and pleasurable experience to deal with these folks. To
    make matters even better
they located the exact car/configuration and it should be here in a few weeks.

I picked up my G35 sedan at Armore in November. I felt I got a great deal ($2200 off list) and the salesman (Jim Mallis) and manager were extremely courteous and very creative in their efforts to make the deal.

I also tried to deal with Willow Grove, and after that experience I told myself I would never try doing business with that dealer again. I felt they treated my 7 month pregnant wife and me like we didn't belong in the "Infiniti" world. They were very disrespectful and didn't seem very interested all at in trying to make the deal. All I heard from them was how "everyone else is paying sticker." They weren't willing to negotiate much and after my trade, I netted out almost $1500 better with Ardmore.

BTY, I just got a mailer from Ardmore describing $250 in free accessories with a new purchase so you might try asking for that too.

This is in response to somebody's earlier question about eligibility of VPP. VPP is offered to employees of the car manufacturers as well as to employee of other companies. Through my company (I work for an oil company) I am eligible to receive a discount on Ford, GM, Mazda, Lincoln, Nissan and Infiniti. The best discounts for Ford and GM is offered to their own employees. Participants from other companies will pay a little more.

If your company is a participant in the VPP then you phone the Infiniti 1-800# and they give you a PIN. You should phone Infiniti dealers that are participating and then when you go to the dealer you have to identify yourself as a VPP participant. You give them the PIN and show one piece of ID that shows you work for your company.

At this time VPP is not offered on the G35 coupe.

I did not know that my company was a participant until I found it by accident on our company internal web site. Also if you're a member of a credit union some of them also participate in VPP.

Spokane? They are 1800-2100 below MSRP. Tell the internet guy you want the Northwest Special.

Well not yet....completed 90% of the paperwork tonight and exchanging check for car Thursday night!

Got Desert Platinum, a base leather (Willow) model; although the toys are nice, they really weren't necessary for me. The only thing I'd like to add soon is a rear deck spoiler and a light smoke tint...nothing else. I like the car the way it is!

    ...Forgot the pricing info......

CarsDirect Invoice $27759, my price approx $28250 + tax and title. The price is approximate because I think they were playing with my trade in value. Two other dealers quoted 17500 and 16500, while they low-balled me at $15600; Kelley Blue book was $16500. If I use KBB, I work backwards into $28250+T&T.

I believe I got a good deal, but they made me work for it. I was there for 4 and a half hours total, the negotiations took an hour and a half...and was pretty intense. At the end I told them it was either come down $1500 or we part ways, no hard feelings. He went into the the Gen. Sales Mgr's office and 15 minutes later we had a deal. It was a stressful experience and unfortunately, I would not say that I had a good dealer experience in any way.

How good of a deal was Orland Park Infinite? I was quoted $33340 for G35 with Premium, Sport Suspension, Winter Sport and trunk mat. MSRP was $34340. Was either deal better than $1000 off MSRP?

    Thanks

Negotiated $34,500. G35 4dr Leather. Premium, Nav, Wood, Winter & Trunk mat. (SR & upgraded Bose, Xenon--STD) $36,335 MSRP.

I could have fought for every penny, but I'm getting too old to care about a few hundred bucks. I wanted to pay 34k, they wanted to sell at 35k, easy compromise. Besides, they had 25 cars on the lot and I wanted Black on Graphite w/ Nav, which they didn't have, so they had to transfer one in. A good deal is relative to your situation. I'm happy and waiting for my Friday/Saturday delivery!!

    Later,
    Don

finally got my g35 the way i wanted it. ivory pearl graphite interior, sport pck, and aero. sticker price was 34,400. the dealer tries to tell me that i would have to wait till mid year unitl I could get a decent discount ( i got him). I waited till the last day of the month and called the manager @ scott infiniti. I asked the buying price for the car without any hesitation she quoted 32,000 before tax/title. she even threw in wheel locks. it's true what they say "good things come to those who wait"

I just picked up my Infinity G35 sedan last night. It came with wood, premium pkg., winter package, willow interior, ivory pearl outside. The G35 I got was the newer version (not the one with truck handle) and it came standard with Xenon lights. I paid $34,649.00 out the door with the car price at $31,726.82. The sticker is at $34,275.00. If you live in Orange County, you can save about $150 on tax over L.A. county. I am in LA county by the way. Hope this helps everyone...

I'm looking at a G35/leather in Kansas city with only one Infiniti dealer here. We want sunroof and cold package. What should I expect for a price?
  • teri01teri01 Member Posts: 2
I am looking at the G35 - trading in our 95 BMW 318ti (paid for) and of course I want all the goodies - Prem package, sunroof, winter package, leather, upgraded stereo. I checked the lot in in Kirkland, WA and they have 69 G35's on site. I've been doing my research on the car, but am wondering if anyone has gotten a good deal in this area - MSRP vs. invoice. I'm also considering the 200 mile trip to Portland to save myself the 8.9% sales tax.
  • 29632963 Member Posts: 37
Wow - you were able to get your Infiniti for only $410 over invoice; great deal! I also live in the LA area, and am ready to purchase an identically equipped G35 sedan (different color) in the next week or two.

Which dealership gave you this deal, and who was your contact?

    Thanks in advance!

I am looking to buy a G35 Sedan with the Premium package, wood package, and the trunk mat, MSRP=$33715. Can anyone tell me what I can expect as a fair price for this car in the Atlanta area, or anywhere for that matter. I am hoping to get it for around $31,500, but I might be crazy. Any suggestions?
  • berman2921berman2921 Member Posts: 36
You should be able to do it. I got mine in MD for 32K. It's similarly equipped plus winter package ($650) and wheel locks ($195).
  • jedmondsjedmonds Member Posts: 5
Is $32660 a good price. This is for a G35 Sedan with Leather, The aero package, aerodynamic body kit, sunroof, sports tuned suspension package and that stupid trunk mat. This is in fairfield CA. My only problem is I owe more on my trade in then whats its worth, so i would have a pretty high monthly car payment 600-650. Help would be much appreciated.

Don't know how Kirkland is dealing no but when I got my G35 last April they weren't moving off MSRP. By the way don't count that sales tax as a savings as you will have to pay about the same rate as USE Tax when you go to license it in Washington.
  • teri01teri01 Member Posts: 2
Thanks for the tip on the tax thing pcoates. Did you buy the sedan or the cope?
  • nicdmxnicdmx Member Posts: 35
Does the Use tax apply when you move? For instance i will be moving from Michigan to California this summer. Will I have to pay a Use Tax when I move?
  • nwhsdnwhsd Member Posts: 10
Ask for the Pacific northwest special from Courtney, internet sales. was quoting $1400++ off MSRP on pretty much all G35s. God luck!
  • cooldude13cooldude13 Member Posts: 4
just got quoted 500.00 over invoice.

black+ willow leather + premium, sport tuned, aero, winter package

    any comments?

We just bought our sedan (Garnet Fire with graphite leather) (looks awesome by the way) in Columbus Ohio. It has the premium package, winter, aero, sport. It stickered at $34890 and we got it for $32850. I thought this was a pretty good deal. January was pretty cold and snowy, and they had over 70 G35 sedans on the lot, so I waited until the end of the month and went for it. Ironically they didn't have the color combo we wanted and had to get the car out of michigan. Our salesman John Layton was very good. I would definetly recommend him. Now I can't wait for the weather to clear up so I can wash my baby and enjoy it.

I just bought a 2003.5 in Springfield Mo. It was a simple cash deal, no trade. Leather, premium, wood, zenon. I said I would pay 500 over invoice. He put me on hold for a minute or two, then, asked whether I wanted the red one or the black one we had been discussing. Invoice is about $200 different from Autotrader. He faxed me one to examine the day before I picked it up.

By far the easiest car I ever bought. These guys are good. No hassle. No hidden deals.

    The car is FAST.
  • david1973david1973 Member Posts: 23
If you bought the car in a period of time (90 days) you will have to pay use(sales) tax. Most states are similiar. You will also have get the car smogged, to register you car right away (20 days or so) so you will be paying double registration . And the fines for not registering right away are pretty bad
  • nicdmxnicdmx Member Posts: 35
So it sounds like i might just be better off paying a percent or two extra sales tax in CA and just buying the car there instead of buying it in Michigan and moving out probably a month or two after buying it?? Any thoughts?
  • pcoatespcoates Member Posts: 15
Nicdmx, David1973 is correct regarding use tax applying x number of days of purchase if moving into a state.

Teri01, I bought an Emerald Green sedan with leather and sun roof last April from Kirkland Infiniti and we just love it. I've never had a car that I've liked this well. It has made driving fun again.
  • acbeech48acbeech48 Member Posts: 1
Teri01, In searchin' for the coupe, I found that the Infiniti dealer down here in Beaverton "second-stickered" their cars with a Northwest Weather Package"..You know the drill... Add 1500 bucks for some undercoat, paint sealer, and Scotch-Guard or whatever in the interior. I thought that behavior went away in the '70's! Kirkland will sell the G35c at MSRP with NO 2nd sticker. Most dealers seem to have sedan invenentory now and will sell them below MSRP. If I wasn't so impetuous, I'd be waiting to buy my coupe. :-)

Hello all! I just wanted to share with you some info I got from Willow Grove Infiniti(PA). I picked out the Garnet Red G35 Sedan with Premium Pkg, Areo Pkg, Sports Suspension, Sports Winter Pkg, and Trunk Mat with small tire. The MSRP was $34,890 and the offer to me was $31,890. With tax and tags final price was $33,997. IS THIS A FAIR PRICE? I assume it is. They want to undercut my trade-in (2001 I30 with 42,000 miles) for $15,000. So anyone out there looking for a 2001 I30 for $16,500 please email me at krattzz@aol.com. Good luck to all!!!

you bought your car in Springfield, MO from Vincel? Do they have a lot in stock?I'm form KC and would consider driving down there for a good deal like that. We're looking for silver with black leather, premium, cold pkg., and wood.

    Hey all,

I am a long time reader, first time poster. Thanks for all the information on this discussion board. I have finalized the paperwork on my new g35 sedan to be picked up on Sunday (that is the day the my private buyer is getting my '01 Maxima.

    I got the Blk/Willow Leather g35 with:
    Prem
    Sport
    Aero
    Mats
    total: 32,086.
I think invoice was like 31,100. So it looks like they make about a $1000 plus holdback. But I am happy with the price and I think it is the cheapest I have seen posted. The dealer in Tampa and they have been pretty good. I will give a final update on Monday on how it went. By the way, bring in these price posting, it really gives a good leg to stand on when it comes to price.

I'm planning on finalizing a deal for a G35 Sedan by the end of the month. Can any of you give me an idea of the interest rates any of you are seeing for a 60 month loan? I have very good credit and I'm putting down about $3500+trade in. I've seen commercials for financing specials on the G35 and I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of rate I can expect to get. Thanks.

Jwaller2, I bought my G35c back in October and my federal credit union gave me a 4.9% for 48M. Hope this help.

jwaller2-just wondering if you got any information about how the dealers in the Atlanta area are working with the price of the g35? Been to the Gwinnett Infiniti when closed to check out the car.

if you have any information to share (experiences, specific dealers, salesmen etc) i would greatly appreciate it. I too am looking for a deal on a g35 and looking to finance.
    thanks for any information.
  • tepperheimertepperheimer Member Posts: 6
jwaller2, we applied with PeopleFirst online.they have the best rates i've seen. i think they're affiliated with USBank.
  • chineechinee Member Posts: 50
Infiniti dealers in South Florida are offering 4.50%, 60 months with excellent credit, which usually means a beacon score of at least 700, maybe as high as 720 required. The financing was with Chase.
