based on my previous research i would say this is not a good deal. as dennis so kindly mentioned to me awhile back, go to carsdirect.com and look up the invoice there. if by chance you have "Good credit"(680 or higher fico) then the MF's listed are NOT GOOD and are in fact MARKED UP! it is my understanding that on a 36mo lease they cannot mark up the MF's, but on 39mo they can.
they are also marking up the destination charge. it should be no more than $765.
i would find out your credit score (freecreditreport.com), then i'd check out carsdirect for the invoice, then i'd do what dennis has told anyone who wanted to know what a "fair deal" was....and that's to negotiate a price +/- $500 of invoice.
good luck!
The dealer is either marking up the lease rates or you don't qualify for the top tier. You will have to ask them and see.
The price and the payments both sound really high to me. $1,100 transport charge seems ridiculous for a 3 hour drive away, but maybe the car is 10 hours away from the dealer and you are just 3 hours away?
Dennis
I am confused. You are in New Orleans but dealing with a dealer in Mobile about a car in Houston? That would seem the wrong way to do it.
You want a lakeshore sedan with what on it? I will ask a dealer to do a locate and see where the cars are and let you know what I find.
The dealer can markup both the $595 bank fee and the IFS money factor - for anyone on any tier.

On Memorial Day, I purchased an '04 titanium over black G35X from Circle Infinity in NJ. I'm not sure what all the packages were when new, but it has the heated leather seats with memory, moonroof, Bose stereo, and dual-zone climate control.
At a final negotiated price of $18,800, I know I overpaid by a few hundred bucks, but I don't feel bad about it because it was tough finding one in a color I wanted and low miles (this one only had 33k). Its not CPO, but the factory bumper-to-bumper is still in effect until Jan '09, and the powertrain warranty is good till Jan '11.
'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S
The current MSRP is $36,580 for this car, but this is a pre price increase example.
Fly in and drive it home

An update. I have now received a quote from Jackson, the first from Mobile, for $564/month 12K-36month. Money factor is .0015 and residual is 60%. They are not marking up the factor but their sell price is higher. They originally said $38125 but that doesn't equal $564 per month in the calculator you provided so there something going on with that quote too.
I guess I will contact the Houston dealer directly. I wanted to give these guys a chance since, at least, they responded in a courteous manner.
Yes, life would be alot easier if I were more flexible on the options and/or color of the car I want, but I'm not. I've waited long enough and I know exactly what I want.
Any other suggestions?
If want to try to get one up here, I will tell my guy you are not interested in the car he has on the lot and see if he can find you a car with sport and nav, preferably with non-stone interior. If he can find one close that price will be about the same - $700 over invoice and no fees or mark ups. If he has to get from a distance, then transport cost will apply - they charged $300 or $350 for a 4 hour haul last time this came up. $1,100 would be a real haul (but fuel costs are higher now).
If not, then I can ask him to locate the car anyway and give me the name of the dealership(s) and pass that along to you. He may or may not, but it does not hurt to ask.
Dennis
Finding a dealer that does not mark up the bank fee or money factor is nice. If they also don't force you to buy unwanted dealer add-ons and have a small or no doc fee, then they edge toward the "perfect dealer" category
Dennis
12k miles per year
$1,600.00 total out of pocket
39 months $435.00
24 months $445.00
I am going in on Friday and sign for the 24 month deal. What do you guys & gals think of these numbers?
You get $350 cash for a lease and $1,000 for a purchase (or finance). I ASSUME the $1k can't be combined with the discount financing, but maybe so - I will check.
All you need is a current car registration in your name.
Dennis
I'm not looking for under invoice like I see alot of guys getting. Ray Brandt is the dealer in Metairie. Of course they were the first dealer I contacted. Quoted me $38500 and never budged a dime. Told me the invoice price I was giving them didn't include the $600 market increase which most here thought was BS. Gave the old "this is a fair market price". They are obviously selling a bunch of cars at whatever price they want. I will go there Saturday for a couple of test drives but I'm not buying from them.
$700 over invoice would be just fine. I understand transportation costs but that $1100 must have some profit in it. Now the Jackson guy wants to match the $38000 sell price (including trans charge) @ .0015 & 60%. Best yet but still a little high. Your price sounds like it would come out around $37443. So if I get a response from these Houston folk, I hope it's not like the Metairie dealer. I'll keep you posted. Let me know what your guy comes up with. Thanks again, Dennis.
The car on his lot in TN does not have Nav. He did find one like you want fairly close to him. It is lakeshore, stone, premium, nav, sports, net, splash, and mat. Invoice would be $36,139 against MSRP of $39,625. Your price would be + $700 (profit) - $350 (customer cash) + haul fee (maybe $350). No other dealer fees and no markup on the lease MFs. So if the haul fee and customer cash cancel each other out, it would be $700 over invoice or $36,839 depending on the haul fee.
Let me know.
In fact, shoot me an e-mail via my profile and we can take the discussion off the board while you decide what to do
Dennis
A $1000 is sure tempting on a purchase. $350 isn't the $500 they were offering im March, but its sure beats a big fat zero.
I'm about sign a deal with a local dealer. Decided on Lakeshore and they are trying to get the vehicle for me as they don't have one on the lot. The extra cash certainly won't hurt.
Also, please let us know what you find out about the ability to combine this cash back with the special financing.
Thanks.
This may get listed eventually on the Edmunds site, but I don't think it was ever listed on the Infiniti site when I got my car.
I would guess you can't combine the $1k sales incentive with the 1.9% to 2.9% cheap financing deals, but I did ask and will post the answer when I get it. $350 is the amount of cash available if you want to lease rather than buy. You could, I guess, do a 3rd party lease and get the $1k rather than the $350, but the IFS rates a pretty low and the residual pretty high - so doing the IFS lease may be cheaper, but I would run the numbers both ways just to see.
This should be available from any Infiniti dealer and was apparently just announced.
Dennis
I was going to ask when should we see the June incentives? I'm in the market to buy a new G37 Coupe Journey w/premium and was hoping for some cash incentives...Everyone is talking about them but they are not published..(yet)
Thanks,
AC
My guy said the $1,000 cash CAN be combined with the cheap money IFS financing (1.9% to 2.9%).
So if you do an IFS lease you get $350, any other deal (3rd party lease, cash, finance, etc) you get $1,000.
Dennis
Is Tech Package really worth $1100?
Dennis
I'm new to the forum, but I've been reading for a few days. Is there a particular place to watch for an official announcement on the conquest cash offering (the Infiniti corporate site does not have this information yet)? My local dealer has updated its website to reflect the $1,000 loyalty cash for the G35, but not the conquest cash -- that remains limited to certain other models. Thus, at this point, the information from this forum and the dealer website are conflicting, and I was hoping I might be able to acquire the "official" announcement to aid in a possible near-term purchase of a G35. I'm coming from a Nissan Maxima or Lexus RX300 so I need the conquest cash, unless the Nissan qualifies for the loyalty cash.
One other question (I searched but didn't see an answer), has anyone used IFS online application on the Infiniti website to get "pre-approved" for the special financing or can that only be done at the dealer?
Thanks for any assistance.
Any "good" dealer is going to tell you about it up front so you know your price will be lower and not try to hide it from you.
Dennis
Thanks. I edited my post, but you answered before I finished
One other question (I searched but didn't see an answer), has anyone used the IFS online application on the Infiniti website to get "pre-approved" for the special financing or can that only be done at the dealer?

Unlike some online app systems the ones for Honda and Infiniti (and others) don't tie in between the online and the dealership and getting online approval just means you have to do it all again at the dealership. BMW's system, for example, is much nicer. You go online and get pre-approved and then once you have found a car and picked a dealer you direct the app to that dealer and it faxes / prints the app at that dealership. When you show up to get your car you just sign the app - no need to complete a new one and the dealer does not re-run your credit.
Dennis
Thanks again. That is exactly the information I was looking for with regard to the online application. Consequently, it looks like I'll just fill out an application and give it to the dealer when the time comes.
Dennis
Not sure why you want the tech package. Also heard the sport package is worthless from a friend who has a G35x (who really uses paddle shifters).
Let me know if you get better prices. Finally, current finance incentives are good until the end of the month. Infiniti sales have been down (save the G37) for the past 2 months (by 11 and 6 percent compared to year before, I can't remember exactly), so I wonder what deals will arise in July if the trend continues. Good luck! Let me know if you find anything cool.
Also, the CURRENT invoice for an x with nav / premium / wood / splash / net is $37,103 including the $765 destination fee or $36,338 without it. The recent price increase was rather large - $500 or more for most models. So if a dealer is selling you a pre-increase car the invoice might be $35,838 and then you take off the $1k incentive and you get $34,838 as invoice less customer cash. They will likely stick a several hundred dollar doc or prep fee on top of the price quoted so your numbers make sense and may not be all that great of a deal - depending on how much the dealer fee is.
You should always get your price quotes to include the car, destination, and any dealer doc or prep fees since the sum of those is the way to compare offers from various dealers.
Dennis
Thanks. I had downloaded the form already, but I thought I would inquire about the utility of the online application, which obviously is a bit weak.
Thanks for you help.
I'm pretty much in the same boat with you. Looking to buy a new 2008 G37 Coupe Journey with premium only. I couldn't find much about a good price on this forum..Seems like everybody is just leasing. Invoice for this is $33,545 (includes destination). So far I got this OTD offers:
39074.00 car has 200 miles
39881 very few miles (with VPP)
38817 not sure yet
Not sure how low we can get on these. VPP is not doing really much ...
Regards,
AC
What *I* would do if *I* were shopping with a VPP code is find a dealer with little or no doc fee and no added accessories. See if they have a car you want, and ask them if they will take your VPP code on the car. If so, you are done.
You price will be about $275 over invoice for the model you want plus your taxes and DMV stuff and whatever the dealer charges for a fee. You can even finance it for the low promotional rate if you want to. If you want a sedan rather than a coupe, then a $1k customer cash incentive applies and you end up way under invoice.
A nice deal and very simple.
If you try to buy from a dealer with a $500-600 doc fee and $1k or more of added accessories then your $275 over VPP price ends up being WAY too high. So shop for a good dealer and then shop for the car.
Dennis
Thanks for the feedback. Let me make it clear then:
In all cases the tax was 7.75%, Doc fee was $250, title tags $35 and no other installed options.
So is that a good deal then? If not what would be a good deal then?
Thanks,
AC
Anyway, the plan C or D VPP price on a car with an invoice of $36,302 would be $36,589.41. Add in a $250 doc fee and add the tax then the tags and I get $39,729.47 . That is close to what the dealers quoted you. The difference could be the splash guards and cargo net or they quoted an older car with a lower price.
The recent Infiniti price increase was pretty steep - probably $400 or more on this car, so if you found a pre increase example sitting on the lot you would save that much or a bit more plus the tax on the difference. If you find one that has been on the lot since January or before the invoice / VPP price might be $600 or more cheaper.
That is an OK price, but you could save money by finding a dealer with no doc fee - if you have one in your area. You could REALLY save money if you purchased a sedan. The invoice on a journey sedan with just premium is $32,996 and there is a $1k customer cash rebate (if you have a car titled in your name). The VPP price on the sedan would be $33,256.67 - $1k = $32,256.67 + $250 doc fee + taxes + tags = $36,138.44 . That is a savings of $3,591.03 and you get basically the same performance and 2 extra doors. Find a pre price increase example and save even more.
If I were buying and not leasing, I would be looking at a sedan. Cheaper insurance too.
Dennis
Thanks for your feedback. I'm leaning towards waiting until September. Today an Infiniti rep was at my dealer saying that G37 coupe AWD will be for sale late September. That is the only thing I'm missing (due to snow). Always wanted a sport car and Infiniti offers a lot for the buck. Although I see a lot of benefits if I get the sedan, I'm not just in the market for a sedan.
On another node the G37 coupe convertible will go on sale next year around spring time.

AC

I am currently in the market for buying a new 08 g35x w prem /nav /wood
MSRP 40475
invoice 36900
i have gotten several dealer quotes from the range of 37000 to 37400 including destination.
i currently own a 2004 g35x, will i be able to ask for an additional 1000 off their quoted price?
based on some of the forum responses, they are selling the g sedan for less than invoice based on loyalty cash.
sim
based on some
41k
41,200
41,800
Although the sedan is a lot cheaper, the sedan doesn't interest me. The incentives are good until the end of the month so I will keep looking. Thanks.

I'm new here on this forum... here are the details on my deal from yesterdays lease purchase:
2008 Infiniti G35 Journey Sedan
Premium/Navi Package
Black/Black
24month lease
15k miles
$433.79 pmt
$1,463 drive off
69% residual
.00126 MF
what you guys think?
-rich :shades:
No one can really give you an answer without knowing MSRP, invoice, and what the $1463 drive off includes. That being said, it seems like a good price from what I've been reading. Have fun with the new G!
Just found out it's going to be very difficult to get Xenons in SoCal on the IS, and that's important for me with dark canyon roads.
I'm wondering whether option packages are easier to find on the G37.
I love the G37 but worry about the gas mileage. That's my stumbling block with the G37.
What are you averaging?
Thanks,
Rebecca
No options on a base car, premium on most every car, nav requires premium, tech requires nav. Almost every g has the splash guards install at POE (at least around here) and most have either the cargo net, cargo mat, or both.
My coupe is a 6mt and is just broken in and I average around 17 mpg commuting. I got 15-16 in an RX-8, about the same in an M5, and a little better in a C5 'vette. I get 23-24mpg in an S2000. I have a lead foot and don't drive in a very fuel efficient manner
If you are comparing an IS sedan I would look at the G sedan rather than the coupe. The sedan has the same (and more) equipment for thousands less - on a fully loaded example this is around $4k cheaper at invoice for the same car. The coupe has more power, but has to tote more weight around so the performance is nearly the same and in some tests the coupe is slower. If you are leasing, the higher coupe residual makes the lease payments close to the same, but if purchasing the sedan is a real bargain.
Drive them both (all 3, the IS, the G35 and G37) and see which one speaks to you. It is not like any of them is a bad car. Obviously the folks here will tell you to get the G, but we don't have to pay for it - you do.
Dennis
MSRP- $45,045
First dealer offer-43,320
They are still about $1,800 over invoice. Doc fees and title costs are $250. I am going to throw $41,100 plus tax at them tomorrow and throw it back in their court. Hopefully I will be driving this beautiful car by Father's Day!!!
Just wondering if anyone with the tech package or the 4 wheel steering have any comments-good or bad-about the packages.
